It's out of the way but very well maintained and the young man inside was very knowledgeable about the displays. You can climb into the tower and look around. A cool find, if you can find it.

Melodie Anderson

Beautiful area, great for photos

Joel Valenti

Very worthwhile to visit! I live in Stonington and would recommend opening the $10 to check out the rich history here. It's nice to climb to the top and lookout at CT, RI, and NY. Also, make sure to visit the Palmer House down the road.

Michael Rajewski

Real interesting. Had a good time.

Sgt Sundog

You have to climb to the top for sure!

Cyndi Finnemore

It was beautiful. I'm terrified of heights, but tryed to climb the ladder to the top. I got up 3 rungs & had an anxiety attack. But, I loved it anyway.

Nice museum in the middle of the old fashioned New England village. The structure is quite small. You have to pay a small fee to get in and see the inside. The ground is free. It a well maintained light house on a nice well kept ground. A good find, and a pleasant stop for all ages.

Phyllis Nelson

We love the Borough! The Lighthouse Museum is well done and very interesting. Love the Saltwater Marsh Summer concert.

Katie Grimes

What a treasure! Worth the drive to feel the ocean breeze on your face, to climb the old steps of the tower and to drive through this adorable little village. Excellent little museum, attended to by a warm, welcoming and knowledgeable lady who had a wonderful smile. What a nice visit we had! Thank you.

Stacey

Nice small but interesting if you like lighthouse history

William Cooper

Cool little museum. Lot of history covering the light and it's predecessors, numerous other lights in the area, War of 1812, Stonington and it's people, hurricanes, and so much more. Great staff on hand, ready to answer any questions we had. Make sure you climb the light tower. Paid admission also gets you into the Nathaniel Palmer house. Beautiful place. Well worth the visit and not to far away from the lighthouse.

Robert

Very beautiful

Lavinia Hughes

Lots of local history including the story of the British attacking us in 1814. A few tall Napoleon-era soldier hats on display. You can go up in the lighthouse. 29 stairs (narrow stairway) then an 8-step ladder to go through the opening to the top. Great 360° view of the area. Also interesting exhibit on the 2nd floor about this village being the end of the train line from Boston. Passengers then caught a steamship to get to New York. You can park at the end of the point. It's just a block away.

J M

Beautiful place and wonderful view.

Carla Baptista

I hag a great time visiting this place. First of all I love lighthouses. Second, the exhibit it gives you a tour throughout history about the lives of the people of Stonington and not only about the lighthouse itself.

Ron Schenone

Paul Brown

The cost is a bit high but if you love Light Houses and local history it is worth the price. Folks are good solid community supporters.

Lisa Pantaleo

A rare gem. Found it by accident. If you like old lighthouses, check it out. Small but interesting.

Susan Long

Beautiful little museum and lighthouse. A nice piece of history.

Lee France

A wonderful place to visit and ticket includes a visit to the Palmer House museum. Interesting collection and cute gift shop. Great view from the top. Loved it.

Barbara Bolich

Fabulous place! Grab a clipboard with questions...we were 6, so did both the easy and hard ones. Now you have a focus for each area of this well-organized museum. The navy member found all the military answers, the youngsters found the vehicle and toy ones, but it took a committee to find the newspaper price! They actually do have a prize, too. Make sure to wander down to the point and read plaques, too. Don't forget to shut the front door and climb the tiny steps to the lighthouse. There is a short, scary ladder at the top. The view is great. Nice clerk, some art and souvenirs for sale.

Nathan Viking Henkenius

It's small and kind of pricey, but they have a sweet sharks tooth machete that would make anyone look badass.

Maureen N

The museum has all kinds of information from the fishing and whaling industry's influence in the area to the strategic value of the lighthouse in the war of 1812. Then you can climb up to the top of the lighthouse and get a panaramic view of Rhode island NY and Connecticut.

Chery Kolodzie

Was awesome beautiful place

Shilpa Suravajhala

This cute little light house is located in the quaint little town of stonington, easily accessible, can spot 2 more light houses from this

Hugh Ryan

It lights at night and in the fog.

fyreatr Brandelli

One of the few places where you can climb to the light house tower and see 3 states too. Small giftshop. Museum has artifacts and history about more than just lighthouses. In a beautiful, historic small town with amazing views.

Gopal Patil

Nice preserved place

Noah Fox

Beautiful view

Carie Jackson

Fun place to visit beautiful view from top. Full of facts and pictures

Umair Ishaq Khan

A true visit to the serene past! One of the best experiences of my entire life!

Ernest Adams

Open only part of the year. They charge more than $150 just for the use of the lawn to elope. Free parking nearby, then walk to the museum. NOT a working lighthouse! Not suitable for children. NOT wheelchair accessible.

Jermaine Linton

Gorgeous place to visit!!

Loren Gallian

Beautiful, Memorable Place, Incredible View!

Jessica Fontana

There are nice views from the top of the lighthouse but the museum is very small with not much to see/do.

Deborah Bunting

It was one of the most characteristic lighthouses ever. You can miss it like we did I was looking straight ahead and it was on left. Not trying to be rude but The young man working there gave quite a bit of information but he was NOT a personable person, no smile not interactive people. All included very nice

Chris D

Nice little spot and lighthouse you can go to the top of. Person working the front wasn't really customer friendly just didn't seem to want to be there.

Debbie Brown

It was beautiful!

Scott Moffat

Fabulous gem. Right at the point. Be sure to walk up the lighthouse tower itself and Check out the view.

Ross Aiello

Neat place just too small.

Melissa Johnson

You can go up and look out from the tower. Beautiful view

Susan Souza

I didn't tour inside only because it was so beautiful outdoors. But, the area is definitely worth driving pass museum into parking lot and taking in the sights. Or if walking navigating the small streets. There is a small beach area you can access for a fee if you want to soke up the sun, feel sand at your feet and cool off in the water.

Kimberly Kubalek

Very pretty

Nadav Jonas

10$ admission for a 10 minutes museum tour is too expensive. I'd give it a pass.

Joe Geraci

A great little museum! The staff is very knowledgeable and eager to share their information if you would like it. The location is very scenic and affords some great photographic opportunities.

Tracy Klatke

Place was great. The kid behind the counter? Not so much. We thought he was a mannequin. An older person would do SO much better at this.

Eggnigma

Great collection and very pretty location

bob Alford

Should visit but is hard to get good pictures. It is between two buiding and is not very impressive. However the point where you park is by the water and a great place to take picture and take long walks.

robert gardner

Fun spot.

Lisa Risley

So wonderful with all the history and artifacts that have been preserved. Just amazing, and making it up to the top was fantastic

Brian Bensko

Alot of interesting local history in this musem. Nice gift shop selection. 4 different stamps for lighthouse passport holders.

john breslin

Cool building but it never was a lighthouse

ROBERT SILVASMAN

Museum was closed when I was there, but all the way around is a beautiful view.

Cynthia Kostylo

It's very interesting. It is a bit of a challenge to climb to the top of the lighthouse.

Carole Hanaway

Wonderful taste of New England...walk the marina and residential streets...huge elegant trees and architecture...museum a stone treasure...stone fences at every tutn.

Jeri Turner

My husband and I were recently in Stonington, CT. It was a very rainy day but we enjoyed ourselves none the less. The Old Lighthouse Museum is very near and dear as one of my ancestors, George Beckwith was once a lighthouse keeper there. My grandfather told me that George Beckwith saved many people's lives in a terrible storm. So nice to have a hero in our family line! After our Mom passed, my sister Pat found an old logbook that belonged to George Beckwith. Pat and I, on a trip to Connecticut took the logbook to Stonington and donated it to the Old Stonington Museum. We we're very pleased to do this and they seemed glad to get it. We did forget to put our family's name on the donation though. The museum is very worthwhile visiting.

Alyssa Householder

Very cool museum with lots to see and i loved going up in the old lighthouse and looking at all of the old artifacts

Michael & Colleen Doherty

Very historical site with awesome views. Tight streets to get there. Don't drive a big vehicle there!

Sandy Ravage

Nice place to visit. The beach right outside the lighthouse is also a relaxing place to visit.

Kevin Johnson

Beautiful place and awesome view of the water from the back lawn
