REVIEWS OF The Shore Line Trolley Museum IN Connecticut

Lucy Goins

We had a wonderful time here! We ended up taking a bus in from new haven, and the stop is so close. It provides an extra bit of convenience for our visit. The staff was kind, funny, and helpful. Tina in the gift shop made sure we had clear directions to the bus stop to get back, too. Kevin was our motorman, and he gave us all the information about what we were seeing. We went through a nature preserve, an old granite mine operation, and lots of history. We really enjoyed the ability to tour the car barns, too. They even have a subway car that visited the towers on 9/11. A very emotional and touching tribute. Such stories and information! Perfect for any railfan, history buff, wildlife enthusiast....very happy that we went !

Raphael Rivas

Very good Museum and I enjoyed my time on the trolleys it gives me an excuse to go back there more often to ride the various types of trolleys that they operate. I just wish it was closer to my house so I can have more time there more than just a couple of hours because of the length of time it takes to get there To the museum.

Acapsule Hobby

Great place to see and ride historic trolleys. The trolley ride is quiet short, but you can ride it all day if you like. Don't miss the barn where they keep the collection of trolleys and other rolling stock.

Kathy Brundidge

I had more fun than I thought I would. The trolley museum was quite interesting. Just wear flat shoes once you get off the trolley, you'll be doing some walking.

I went here a couple years ago it was fun but the trolley ride is very short. i recommend the one in Windsor CT The trolley ride is about 25 minutes and has a lot more history than here. But if you don't feel like traveling To there than this is the place for you.

Mendim Zhuta

We hosted my Son's 3rd birthday party here and it was a success. All the Kids loved it. The party planner/helper was extremely knowledgeable and helpful overall. She was available to answer any questions we had pretty much whenever we had them. I would highly recommend it to any train loving kids or fans of Daniel Tiger's Trolley

This museum is just amazing! The conductors are incredibly educated and willing to answer any questions. The trolley ride is very beautiful and the stop at the yard is just incredible. It was a so eerie when given a tour for the subway car that survived 9/11.

Andrew Lyons

Great fun for adults and kids. One ticket lets you ride trolleys all day. two trolleys run in sequence with a little bit of delay between them or you can stay on one all day. Drivers were fun and knowledgeable and good with kids. The additional trolleys in the sheds were a lot of fun to look at with a good variety. my favorite part is the seats that change direction when you get to the end of the line. Show it to the kids they'll enjoy helping out. They also get to ring the trolley bell with the foot pedal which was fun.

Rebecca Fasula

I love bringing my son here for almost every holiday!

Snorkmaiden

Fun trolley ride and interesting museum.

Lee Carlson

A favorite spot to see transportation history.

Jenni Campis

Went to the haunted isle with my older children...It wasn't really scary and they have no signs of telling you which way to go. Some of them had multiple doors and made it confusing... Also the dark areas were extremely difficult to get through.

Bill Dobkins

Great place to experience historic transportation in a very scenic environment.

Jerry Sats

Great place to bring the family

Lisa Igneri-hermann

Fun! Kids loved it.

Erika Ennejjar

Went on a field trip with a pre k class. Not the best experience for kids, too much history and talking about things they don't know. The ride they loved and the conductor was awesome. Just wouldn't recommend for a class trip

Elissa Boss

My family had a positive experience at the pumpkin patch trolley ride, in respect to the cost. We were a bit disappointed that there weren't many engaging activities for kids at the trolley yard "pumpkin patch," but my 3 year old had fun, so it was worth it. As a preschooler who still loves the novelty of riding on trains and the like, she was enthusiastic about the experience from start to finish. However, I'm not sure we had a dynamic enough experience that would motivate me to go again. From an adult perspective, riding on the trolley offered a glimpse into the history of street cars, as well as a pleasant ride through local wetlands. The trolley conductors were warm and eager to relay their knowledge about both local train car history and that of the specific trolley we were on.

Lonnie Brintley

Small, off the beaten path, doing their best to preserve a form of transportation.

juan bastias

Es el museo de trolley muy lindo bien cuidado e interesante

Sissy Sis

Halloween isle. The best!! They do a great job!!#

Bobby Arel

Dangerous haunted attraction, between the sex offenders and other volunteers of criminial history and drug abuse working it, to the downright unpleasant experience of BOO and irritating screams. No good set designs, just a barely carved out path in the woods with real life scary people who are actually intimidating because they're freakin criminals.....

Jerome Rumley

It was an great experience with the family. Specially great for all learning ages. May be a littel hot as they don't have a.c. except for mother nature's wind but thats during the summer.

Yumac L

This is an amazing little museum. The fact that they still have over a mile of working trolley line is so cool. You look at some exhibits inside, then get on the trolley for a ride through the salt marsh. Then a stop midway at the train barns to see other trolleys. Really fun .

Very neat place. The trolley rode was very fun, and you learn a lot from the conductor. You also get a tour of the Street Car Garage which has many different trolleys and even a car from the World Trade Center! I recommend you check it out!

Michelle Lemay

Great job cleaning up from the downed lines

Kara Rapp

We were able to enjoy this experience for half off ticket prices, which felt like the right amount to spend for the experience - paying full price would have seemed too high. The conductor was knowledgeable and the tickets included a ride in a trolley on the mile and a half of remaining track, as well as a stop at the yard to see their collection of historic cars/trolleys.

M

Had a nice time very family friendly!! Great history lesson for the kids. Nice to feel like you stepped back in time for awhile. Beautiful ride on the train kids loved it. Nice scenery. Wish it was a bit longer but that's as far the tracks went.

Great ride though coastal marshes near New Haven

Eric Doran

I was having a good time until a Security guy excused me of having a knife. I was grabbed by the guy, treated as if I was 100% guilty, patted down, embarrassed in front of my friends, many other people and video surveillance afterwards by the Security guy that accused me. I am looking into the name of the Security company and filing a complaint and civil suit for how this issue was handled. I emailed the company for more information.

Justin Pileggi

Easter Bunny visit was great! Good local family fun!

Emil Luk

One of the most unique museums you can visit. A wide collection of both restored and operable railroad , subway cars , buses and trolleys. They have special events and special days you can actually operate some of the rolling stock they have down a 2 mile line, which is a unique experience that leaves a smile on your face. The rolling stock they have is from all over the country and with some noteworthy additions from the NY Subway system that you can actually operate on certain days. Well worth a visit!

Very interesting, I dont think enough people know about this place and that 1 of 2 of the only trains not crushed under the 911 September attack is here. Plus the background is very interesting thanks to the narrator/Driver.

We took our three kids here around Christmas for the train ride to visit Santa. For ten dollars each, the value and experience was fantastic. The trolley itself was very cool and was like stepping back in time, and they had fun activities for the kids, plus cookies and cocoa. Highly recommended.

Morgan Johns

Easter Bunny was great. Kids had a blast on the trolley

Zeacorzeppelin10

So much history in one spot. They have a trolley that gave the Brooklyn Dodgers their name. They have NYC subway trains. They have trolleys older than the line they ride on. This place is overflowing with history and fun for the whole family. Get there now.
