Nice unsuspecting little museum. Visited as part of a school field trip. The guides giving the tour were great. They kept the kids engaged and taught them some history at the same time. One of the kids favorite parts was taking turns using the hose and pump.

I loved this museum! The items on display are unbelievable, the apparatus has been lovingly restored to actual operating condition, and our guide made the trip even better! He had a passion for local fire fighting history! He definitely enjoys what he does!

The Connecticut Fire Museum is a great stop for firefighters, fire buffs, family members, and families with kids. They owners are incredibly nice and will take you on a tour of the place. They have numerous antique apparatus on display as well as a rotating exhibit on the second floor. They usually host a bi yearly gallery of the best photos from members of the Connecticut Fire Photographers Association which shows off some of the most breathing taking fire photos from Connecticut and around the United States taken by their members.

Very cool little museum housed in a 19th century firehouse. Features a number of original fire engines from the 1850s to 1950s, fire equipment and memorabilia, battery room and hose tower. Very knowledgeable staff. Only open on Fridays and Saturdays during the summer, so be sure to give them a call before planning a visit.

Been there 3x now during their stated open business hours yet it is always closed. Thanks for the disappointments after a long drive.
