REVIEWS OF Stepping Stones Museum for Children IN Connecticut

Gavriel Hoffman

Great children's museum. Kids love the water tables but maybe you should bring some extra clothing because they will get wet. Very well maintained. Staff is great. Highly recommend

Ysabel Vargas

Love this place!!

Enrique y

A great place for toddlers and parents alike!

Nadja Grigoreva

We arrived at 9.40 on Saturday morning and the front desk lady didn’t let us in until 10am because it was a member-only morning. I understand she followed the rules but she could at least let us go to the cafe or go use the bathroom. She told us to wait 20 minutes in the coat room. Imagine holding a 2 year old from entering the museum. Very disappointed. There was no sign saying about the member-only morning.

Lots of fun for kids in the 2-8 range. Haven't seen the exhibits change very much, but they have some special events and it's a place to go on a rainy day.

Everett Peabody

Great place to bring your children too. My 4 year old loves this place. She spends hours and hours there playing and learning.

Anthony Friedman

Ketan Mamtora

Apple Imperato

This is such awesome place for little ones to explore.

Eric Voris

Exhibits are great and educational. Staff Is friendly but it gets busy sometimes and adults and children over 2 pay the same price even though the adults can't really play with anything.

William Woods

Took my 6 yr old and 3 yr old daughters and they loved it. It is hands on and even my wife and I had fun interacting and playing with the exhibits. Very cool place

Sandy Waters

We took our 3-year old grandson here last week and found the place short on activities to engage him. The water exhibit was a highlight, and the outdoor play area was a close second. However, the exhibit about "feelings" seemed too politically correct for our liking, and a complete yawn to him. We found it difficult to engage him in the healthy lifestyle exhibit, too. The construction section really had nothing for kids to do. I can see where this might be a good alternative rainy day activity, if you can stand the crowds. But the cost is high, and I am not convinced that a child with a water table at home wouldn't learn just as much there as he would at this museum. Also think it would be more fun to come with a friend or two.

Thomas Leaf

I love this place. It's always updated and clean. Good crowd. The staff is always friendly and attentive and they have activities for special needs children

Josh Lopez

A great place to bring your children. There are activities for children at different ages. My 1 year old had a great time.

Chaim Pollak

It's OK. Although its got some good ideas each thing is not too big and gets some filled up quickly, it's has a great playground for crawling baby's and a huge kitchen corner for kids but a toddler I would probably enjoy better a local park with swings.

Carlos Garcia

My kid loved it, a lot of things to do and learn.

Michael F Rodriguez

Lots of younger kids activities. Water section is excellent. Other similar museums we have been to have had more to offer for the price but over all a good time with the little one.

TJ Allard

Yearly membership is really worth it.

Sumanta Dutta

I am giving this place a five star because It is a great place for toddlers. There is many fun activities for them to explore and have their little imagination run wild. I love it, my two boys enjoy every bit of this place. They are having fun while learning at the same time. Every day they have a variety of activities they can take part in. keep up the good work Stepping Stones.

Andrew Schultz

Great place for my little one to run around and burn off some weekend energy.. get there early because it's not exactly a secret and gets quite busy after 10:30 ish.

Yeni Arnold

This place is awesome specially for young kids. Big place and so much to explore and learn. The best thing for military family members is free. Saved us $45 for 3 of us (parent and kid).

Richard Sequeira

Very interactive activities for children. My son loves this place

Jessica Wyman

Great place for kiss to interact with science and learning. Hands on fun.

Annie De Jesus

Wonderful place for toddlers and bigger kids.

Excelente Lugar para todas las edades

diamarpz

We have a membership. Our kids love it. Great place for children of different ages.

shazeen mirza

Very expensive and overrated not value for money .. not well maintained and poor service

Allison Manley

Great for my 2 year old :) but it can get very crowded

Andrey Stoev

The annual passes are not worth the fee. After a couple of visits it becomes boring for a 4 year old. The visiting exhibits are a few and long between, not to mention sparse. It is more of a play ground that a place to learn new and exciting things. Imagine Nation in Bristol, CT is more diverse in activities and events and generally more educational for the kids IMHO.

Bob Rewkowski

A fun place to take the kids for a day trip.

Reyhan Habib

Average museum in Norwalk. I came here when I was a child. They have exhibits on all areas of science. Lots of things to see. Their outside playground is nice. I may come back here.

Angie

Great place for the little ones! There are a ton of activities for them. You can bring food and drink in to save some money so that is always nice. The kids always have a blast.

shubham gupta

Toddler dream land with storytelling, fitness fun, express yourself, etc. numerous kids activities, cafe and outdoor space add to fun.

Rufina Gazizova

Very good place for kids. They are having fun!

Nicole Greenberg

We love this place. So many fantastic areas, tons of space, and always great science fun. The little kid area is also fantastic with tons of educational play. Highly recommend.

Geralda Laforest

Great place for the children to explore and learn new things

Elizabeth R

I have two toddlers and came here for the first time today. It was BEYOND a hit. I love all the little details that have been thoughtfully added to the space to make it extra special. As a parent and preschool teacher I cannot begin to tell you how amazing it is. So much freedom for kids to touch and play and move around. Really really great place. I can’t wait to bring them back.

Joseph Petrone

Great place for the little ones!

Dang Truong

Good for a day activity with young children.

Ernesto Atencio

Great museum for small children?

Zheng Zhong

Dember Paige

My kids and I love this place

Yaritza Vargas

Very nice place.. awesome for kids. I went with my daughter and mother we enjoyed it evenly. Lots of fun! I recommend it!

Atlantis S

Great place to have fun with children. You can easily spend there whole day. Very clean with lot of attractions I would say for children 0 - 12 years old. There is lovely playground outside.

Benjamin Morris

Very expensive and most of the exhibits are not all that interesting for the kids... they play for a couple mins and lose interest.

A NS

If you have a baby, this is NOT the place for you. The ‘baby only’ area, which clearly reads birth-36 months old on the entrance sign, is loaded with older kids and adults. The first problem with this is all of them don’t remove their shoes as per the sign so the babies are forced to crawl around in an area that is very dirty. The second problem is that the babies are surrounded by screaming children who are running and jumping on the padded areas designated for crawling infants learning to walk. It’s dangerous. The volunteers just stand around and don’t inform anyone of the rules. I have even seen the volunteers walking around with shoes in the baby area. I’ve pointed these issues out several times to the staff but it doesn’t get better. The classes for babies and toddlers are the poorest I’ve ever been to (and I’ve been to many classes in Darien, Greenwich and Riverside). They are not innovative or entertaining for that age range. The cafe is unhealthy—the upside is they allow you to bring your own food in. If you have kids ages 8+, they might have fun here, otherwise forget it.

Natalie Gerhard

The energy lab was fun, but that was really the only thing to do there. Really disappointed. My 4 year old was bored after about 40 minutes. Especially once it started to get crowded and the few exhibits that are there began to fill up. Made the mistake of buying a yearly membership without having gone first, which is a shame because I dont think ill be going back. I've been to many children's museums in several states, and this was by far the least entertaining and least engaging. Such a shame.

Caitlin Woody

5yo, 4yo, and 2yo really enjoyed their time at Stepping Stones. The girls enjoyed making music. There was plenty to do for each of them! Love the hands on learning and exploration.

Melissa Shemek

Caters to kids!

Khadija Wilkins

Wow! After our 1st visit became a member. It was just THAT awesome for my kids.

Kirill Evseev

Ionut Mosteanu

I have a 2 year old and we came here twice. She loved it... I think it's even better for 4-8 year old bracket...

ABU SHAHID

Highly recommend it for everybody; worth visiting here

Helene Andrews

Great place for small chidren. The water area &outside were fun.

Nicholas Banker

Place is great for my daughter who is 2 and a half, cafeteria, and stuff to do inside and outside with weather permitting

Gerri Ball

So many activities for all ages. Great staff. Nice cafe. Outdoor train, weather permitting.

Brie Hong

Lots of great activities for kids - we have gone back twice and still have more to do!

Ben Roberts

We stopped here on our way to Philadelphia to let the kids stretch their legs a bit. I wish we had planned a whole day here. The kids LOVED it. The energy lab had a bunch it really neat water play stuff, The areas for younger kids were great. The staff was friendly and inviting. I cannot recommend it enough.

Nathan Ondricek

My kids (3 & 2) love this place! Lots to do and fun things to explore. It's pretty expensive though and can get crazy busy. Try and hit it up during the week if your schedule permits.

R

Very poorly run. I actually saw a manager screaming at an employee. I don’t feel comfortable coming here again.

Fawad Faraz

Nice place for kids

J B

Fun place. Looking forward to seeing what they do with the new space. It looks like it might capture kids a little bit older which could be great for the ease of taking the whole family.

Maria Katina Osorio

(Translated by Google) A very fun place full of educational activities for preschool children, each activity is full of teaching (Original) Un lugar muy divertido y lleno de actividades educativas para los niños en edad preescolar, cada actividad está llena de enseñanza

Izzy Reis Portfolio

Very nice place.... kids loved visiting.... we are not even from this area and we were very welcomed here. Highly recomento. There are a lot of different activities for all ages... all dahs of te week. A little expensive if you’re going there for one single visit but it’s defiantly worth becoming a member. Plus you get t go to a lot of other museums for free, if you are a member. Anyways... it’s worth it...

JONATHAN Y.

Member for 3 years. Always nice.

This is our second time to stepping stones. My girls are 3&4. The room where the children dance was set up as a conference room so they couldn't use that. The main room was nothing more than a craft station. My girls were there for 41 minutes I asked for a refund. Very disappointing.

Angel Maldonado

This place is awesome for children. A lot to offer your kids will not be disappointed

Sean O'Grady

This place is great!

J F

Not very good for kids over 4 years old. $75 for 2 adults and 3 kids over 5 and we were done in a half hour.

Jonathan Cohen

Great museum, very interactive. Good for all ages infant to big kids.

Esterlyn Reinoso

Great Kids and family oriented museum.

Muna Hoque

My 2 year old daughter love this place. We go there almost every Wednesday. She loves Katie's Zumba class. My 5 year old son obsessed with the lab energy.

Pedro Navarro

It's OK. Not really much to do.

Claudia Risso

Love it

Mike Downes

Awesome place for kids. While they have a place called "tot town" for small kids that can crawl it isn't very large. But there is a lot to do for kids that can walk. The prices are very very reasonable as well.

Nicholas Harrison

This place is amazing and we've become members here and got the membership that allows us to bring guests. Beats any other children's museum we've been to. Great for a wide range of ages. Tons and tons of activities. Sub areas where you can spend hours if your kid is interested in specific things. Exhibits are engaging and tons of fun. Science is encouraged, art, reading, pretend play all on hand. They do have some rotating exhibits too but after coming a bunch of times, I don't think we'll tire of anything anytime soon. As our kid grows, her interests keep changing and that keeps it fresh as well. The one-off visit is a little pricey, but doing a membership is a total slam dunk and very reasonable if you come back a few times. People are friendly and helpful. They do have a limited food service area and offer a good range of stuff, even if you kid has some allergies. You are also able to sit down with things you brought in so it's easy to supplement with what they have too. Laid back and fun. Good for different energy level family members. We love it and will keep being members!

Piers Platt

This is a shockingly well equipped little museum for a small town. Great for toddlers.

ProRoller 420

Best place for your kids to learn, laugh and play all at the same time. 100% recommended!!!

Gene Melvin

Great place for kids and the infant/crawler section was a nice touch

Geoffrey Jacobs

Great place for the kids to explore and enjoy.

Isabel Destival

Too expensive, not much to do. Repetitive. Unfriendly staff. Restrictive without reason. Boring. Not worth it. Be done with it in 15 minutes and that's $1 a minute for kids, adults same price. Water table only interesting part and even that doesn't take long to be done .

Sharon DeFala

Clean, interactive, well-staffed, with some exhibits that stay and others that evolve. Special events see always well-planned.

Doris Ortiz

Lots of fun, great experience for kids!

Johana Diaz

The best children's museum I have been!

Ionut H

I am only giving 1 star review because of the customer service which was the worst ever...I left so frustrated as I do not like arguments.I payed to get in and as soon as I got in my son did not want to stay so I asked for a refund. The Cashier girl rolled her eyes on me stating you pay to get in...

Krischelle Pingol

my kids are 1.5 yr old girl and 3.5 yr old boy—-the kids enjoyed their time here. They enjoyed the water section energy lab and trucks/building, outdoor playground ... it is $15 per person. we were there for 3hours, played a lot. I have been to other kids museum and I think stepping stone museum can improve their exhibits tremendously .

Rene Carrasquillo

Great place to take young children to. Can spend the whole day there without the kids losing interest. More for the younger kids.

John Sicat

If you're looking to kill time with your kids while wanting to make the experience fun and educational, this is definitely the place for you! Bring extra clothes! Your kids will more likely get wet!

Shruti Patel

Very fun and interactive but small. Ran out of things to do quickly.

Mahesh Divakaran

Great

Jim Nunan

An assortment of fun, interactive exhibits for younger children

Amanda Sutor

My daughter woke up the next day with pink eye (first time she ever got it) but she loved it there.

Amit Merchant

If you live in the area and have kids, you must get a membership. Easiest way for your kids top have fun, and will save money within a few months

Christopher Conroy

Should be better at 17 months. Zumba? 3/5/14

Jay Gialanella

Always a great place to spend a few hours. Have been going since my youngest was 1y/o now she’s 4&1/2 and still enjoys it. The membership is definitely worth the money. Pays for itself after like two visits. The food they sell is good and healthy. But you can bring food and snacks with you and it’ll save you some money.

Ron Law

Nice place for kids and kids parties. I enjoyed my visit here. Will highly recommend it to parents.

Mark Paradis

What an amazing place for kids. This place was perfect for our 2 and 4 year old. The water area is perfect where kids can just the right amount of wet playing with different “energy sources”. The building area was great and the kids emotions area was really well thought out for real engagement with the kids. There was a huge arts and crafts area that was stocked with great activities. Highly recommend the for a least one trip with the kids.

heidi alterman

This is a great children's museum! The staff goes above and beyond to help each child learn and have fun. They have arts and crafts, water play areas, technology centers and a great outdoor play area. They also offer healthy food and organic choices. Love this place!

Rickey Wilkerson

Fun place. Looking forward to seeing what they do with the new space.

Daniel Kirkeby

If you have a kid over 18 months, and under about 8, Stepping Stones is the best.

Sean Cortes

Great place for children of all ages. We attended a birthday party there and we loved it. Clean atmosphere. Educational opportunities for children including a spot for infants. I would love to go back. Indoor play areas. Beware there is a water center there so bring change of clothes and towels.

Nicole Marie

I was really disappointed after visiting this museum. My daughter got bored quickly and only enjoyed the water area. One of the staff members was also very rude. Least favorite Children's muesum so far.

Horus Cartouche

i made the mistake of accompanying someone here. for such a new building, the lobby smells strongly of mold... which was a stark contrast from the ancient places i've been to. the amount of misinformation or meaningless bits of information really took the cake, though - they do a disservice to the young mind. i hope no family gets fooled into thinking that there is anything truly educational about this place. you would be better off visiting a library. it is like being in a noisy bazaar with some cheap thrills around the corner but nothing actually worthwhile to spend time on. for a somewhat better alternative, visit the nearby aquarium (that has far more water but a lower amount of fungal spores) in Norwalk or the children's museum in Stamford (which is only worthwhile if you go to a good exhibit, hike, or visit the farm). i hope they improve after this review.

Kevin Wasserman

Great place to bring your kids, the family membership is a good deal and tax-deductible to boot. The exhibits seem to be always changing, so there's always something new. This is one of the better children's museums I've been to.

Dwight Richards

Amazing for great children and parents bonding experience

Yo Alves

Such a nice place to take the kids!

Ian Jarsocrak

Great place to spend a few hours with young kids. The kids were entertained and learned how to build things. Expect the to get a little wet in the motion lab, but they will love it.

Venk Dakshin

good

Brenda Texeira

My children love coming here... they learn and interact with educational tools...

Keerthana Boloor

Lots of activities for small children. Keep extra pairs of clothes, there is quite a bit of water play. Very expensive Cafe. #funforkids #getsplashing #science4littleones

Ashok Singh

Great for tots and young kids. We spent about 2 hours there and saw almost all they had to offer. Would love to see few more attractions added specially in STEM.

Lokesh Jadwani

Good place for kids to explore new stuff.

Juan Luis Perez

David Joura

I am giving it 3 stars because the place is great and so much fun. But the other 2 stars that I am not giving it is because the food was so bad that even my whole family got sick. and I thought since it was $30 for two sets nuggets and fries and small container of watermelon the food was gonna be good but NO it wasn't. Please do something about this, and then you guys can have 5 stars.

Amanda W

My son had a great time but I thought it could have had more to do for the price it costs to get in!

Hector Asuncion

great kids attraction in Norwalk.

Thomas Bendick

Absolutely a great place to take the kids. Bring extra clothes if you go into the water area. They are bound to get wet playing with all balls and water

Ukrainian Mami

Best place to take your infant/toddler in Norwalk. Very educational and so much fun for the kids. We got in for free since we got the military discount, so saved $45 ($15 per person).

R Park

Great museum for kids. Plenty of parking. Large facility with outdoor space. Cafeteria with lots of options other than fried. Great exhibits. Great for young kids to old.

Dana Berwick

Great place for kids. A lot to do. Be prepared to get wet in the energy lab.

Paul Conant

Nice for younger kids. 5 to 8

Brian Stisser

Anand Krishnan

Great place for infants and toddlers alike ... Perfect for those rainy/snowy days when a quick drive over could lead your little ones to a place Filled with activities and toys. Their wet zone is fun for my little one, And their annual membership is also tax deductible.

Vicky Truitt

Fun and we'll thought out

Nilson Gabas, Jr.

Great time with your family!

Erica Rice

The concept of this museum is fabulous but it falls short. The toddler exhibit was lacking. The play equipment was filthy. The light blue foam blocks used in the open outside play area were black with dirt. The water area had green algae growing in the pipes and the whole lobby, water area and toddler area smelled strongly of mold and mildew. The cafe had very few choices and for a museum about science and learning about self had horribly unhealthy options for lunch. The only positive I can say is that after buying a membership upon arrival - they refunded it when we left!

David Tomlin

Amazing place for my four year old aon and three year old nephew to burn off some steam.

Sonny Diaz

Good place for toddlers. Could be kept a bit cleaner, but I am sure that isn't easy.

Betsy Arnold

Total hands on museum, not boaring at all. It's expensive for just one visit ,but you can buy a yearly membership, which I think one would definitely use. So much to do& will want to come back.

Russ Perna

Fun museum for the kids, they have a ton of different activities and zones for all ages.

Elena xyz

A great museum for a one day trip. The kids love it here and always have a lot of fun
