This is a fantastic representation of colonial life, with a wide variety of programs if you go on the right day. The best part about this museum is that you can actually stand in the birthplace of the man who basically wrote the American version of English. My favorite part was the clock and China set, both of which were owned by Noah Webster himself. The only downside is that since the museum is Noah's old home it's not very large. You can see everything there is to see in a few visits. Of course then there's always tavern night, an adults only dinner and bar night with colonial games.

Words. Words. Words. Thanks Noah for making them American! In 1828 his own Dictionary was published and the rest is history! Webster’s Blue Back Speller gave us pronunciation and a commonality for equalized relations among our people. We still depend on his dictionary in schools and homes throughout our nation. This house is a little gem that brings his story to life.

Great little museum. You can spend as little as 30 minutes or as much as 3 and a half hours or more . Depends on how much you enjoy history. I personally would have enjoyed spending even more time here. The volunteers/employees are very helpful.

NWH is a truly excellent museum. Featuring a fascinating history of the Town of West Hartford, the museum also showcases exhibits of general interest to the historically curious. Staff members are congenial, personable and always willing to be of assistance with any and all queries. On site parking is a bit limited, however, ample spots are available on South Main and local streets. A simply wonderful museum!

Had a great time stepping back in history with the tour guide. He made the information fun to learn and diverse enough to appeal to a broad audience. Was happy to participate in lively discussion and demonstrations to better retain what was learned. Great example of Connecticut's rich history.

Very neat place to visit with your children. It's a real mind blow for them to see that there wasn't any wifi or TV in that time period.. Y kids thought it was a good place but all of them said they couldn't live there lol.
