The museum has everything you wanna know about New Haven County's history. Alot to see, me and my 12 year old son spent 3 hours and the time flew by. We appreciated what they had to offer for the public. And the 1st Sunday of the month is free admission so we just donated a few dollars in the box near the entrance.

I really enjoyed the museum. I didn't know New Haven was so full of rich history. I thought their Amistad exhibit was quite interesting. I was disappointed the gift shop wasn't open when we went on a Saturday afternoon as I collect magnets from my travels.

Lovely place to spend an afternoon. Free admission Sundays but very low cost all other days. Beautiful building and a lot of wonderful information about the city of New Haven

Really great, informative museum about the history of New Haven. Thoughtful exhibits and interesting content. Enough neat stuff that kids will enjoy walking through as much as adults.

There are great free museum in New Haven so even though it charges only small money, I do not feel it worth. But if you want to know more history in New Haven, it would be good place to go.

Some interesting exhibits. Especially the Amistad story is well documented. But a comprehensive story of the city of New Haven is lacking.

Yes, the museum charges an entrance fee- it is not affiliated with Yale. Yes, they have a great collection of New Haven history. I highly recommend to enhance your visit with a guided tour.
