This place was amazing. Both my 1.5 year old and 5 year old had so much fun. Lots to do. We only went for a couple of hours, but you could easily spend more time there.
Stopped here on the way to MA from NY. Wow. What a great place for a curious 4year old! It had EVERYTHING my kid is interested in- from conveyor belts to suction tubes to pretend washing stations with real steam- this place is for any pre schooler who loves pretend play!
My kid's love this place! Lots of imaginative play. Plan on an afternoon (3 hours or so). For kids up to 7. Fun for toddler's/babies too. Fun for parents, or just find a place to sit and rest while your kids play. Gets a little busy during peak season.
I mean...if you have kids you have to take em to this place...its fun without being nerve-wracking. Its in a big building thats so cute n quirky on outside, thats closed off so your lil runners cant run away too far. There are so many fun things like the Pirate room with a cool slide and like boat type thing.( Sorry no pucs, they all have my kids in them & thats no bueno :/.) Trust me, take your kids and youll both be happy cuz theyll be "runned out" and still clean (unlike the park, lol) and the likelihood of naps are high after a trio to Kidcity. Omg. It sounds like I jus want my kids to sleep..you know why I sound like that? Cuz I do. I got 1 night owl and 1 early bird. Heyy...Kidcity should have a early bird and also a night owl play group!! Hmm..probably not a great idea jus my sleep deprived brain talking. I digress. Its dope, trust. Also have been to like 354 birthday parties here n all have been cool. Never gets old for me or the kiddos. There's also cool ice cream shops in area too, it can be a whole thing. Enjoy! If u do go n see a chick sleeping in the corner of the(sorta) Prarie Dog (like) room well, yes, its me. Jus give me 5 minutes. Thanks ;)
A great experience for little ones! You could go and spend a whole hour or two in a single room!
It was good and fun we go every year sometimes we go twice a year my older kid loves it and has a lot of imagination With the themed Rooms
My 7 y.o. daughter loves this place would rater come here than an amusement park.
Fun and creative environment for your 1 to 7 year olds. It is a lifesaver on a rainy vacation day but fun at any time.
This is an awesome place! So much to do and see. My 2 year old loved it and played for over 3 hours there!
Great place to take kids to play. I've been here twice with my kids while we're in CT. So many different rooms to explore. My only complaint would be that some patrons didn't really respect the toddlers only room....the museum staff did enforce it, however. Kudos to them. There are some nice coffee shops and restaurants to check out in the area too.
Nice place and alot to do, but when crowded very tight and hard to move around.
Best place ever! So much fun so much to do. Great for babies through 10 yo
Staff are friendly and a lot for children to explore. One of our favorite places to go!
My granddaughter just loves it.
A very nice place for kids to play!!!
Amazing half day for my two boys (3.5 and 4.5). They enjoyed every second and couldn't wait to see what was around the next corner. Everything is interactive and engaging, and pretty clean considering the enourmous amount of use it gets. Staff are super friendly, the bathrooms are VERY family friendly, a great snack corner with hand washing station and water fountain, and coat area where you can place your stroller (none allowed inside). In every room there are convienent spots strategically placed for parents to sit and watch. It does get busy pretty quickly. We went on a Wednesday morning and practically had the place to ourselves for the whole first hour. It is also very easy to find, right off the highway. Parking lot was good size and you do have to pay (meters take credit cards, I think it was $1per hour) but it's right next to the building so you could run out if you needed to. The best part, only $10 a ticket!!! A season pass also seems very affordable. I can not say enough great things about Kidcity. We will definitely be going back.
Great interactive fun for kids to 6 years old.
Great place to bring your kids, fun activities for them to do. Only downside is that if you go on a busier day, some of the rooms aren't large, so it can get cramped with allot of people.
My 2 great nephews ages 2 and 3 had such a good time. We were there from opening to closing. Just left for lunch. A fun way to spend the day with w/o the the special little people in your life. A definite return trip is in the future.
Cool, fun place ideal for kids 2 to 7. Bring friends, or make friends here! Great staff.
My daughter and her best friend had a blast here! There's so much for the kids to do. It's a really neat museum for children. My only complaint is that it can get a bit crowded.
My kids really enjoy going to Kidcity. We visit regularly, and it usually isn't too crowded.
What a wonderful place for children and parents alike! there are so many different rooms and activities for children to try and enjoy, which all sparked their imagination. For parents the space is very well thought out; with multiple outlets throughout every room, as well as ample seating for parents as they watch their children play. The spaces are both small enough for small children to enjoy and spacious enough for parents to move around without feeling confined or hurting themselves as they supervise their children. The bathrooms were all clean, fully stocked, and thoughtfully engineered for families of all shapes and sizes; including those with potty training children or babies. As well as children or adults with disabilities. The price of the ticket covers use for the entire day, which also allows you to leave the museum to get something to eat or walk around and still come back to continue playing until the museum closes. This is a huge relief for most parents! In all we loved the space and will definitely be returning!
What a great place for kids! We brought our son here on a rainy weekend. As you would expect, it was very busy and crowded but it didn't take away from his experience. He loved it. I think he would have stayed here for hours if we let it happen. Every room was awesome. The themes and structures that are set up are very impressive. I really wasn't expecting the level of detail that was present. I wouldn't suggest bringing kids that can't walk or climb things yet. There isn't much for them to do.
We went last week, it was awesome! It was a bit crazy and busy, but the kids always have fun when we go. I love the hands on experiences the kids get to have! This place is amazing for kids 1 to 7. From pretend space ships and cars, to a pretend post office, restaurant, kitchen, grocery store, farm, and to many many more things there are endless adorable features that kids will have a blast with. There are super convenient family bathrooms, a kid oriented eating area, And a room for breastfeeding moms. Go and check it out! So worth the trip.
Wonderful, fun and interactive space for kids, from the littlelest to bigger ones. Fun for the whole family.
Always loved bringing my oldest who's now 10. Such a creative place for kids to use their imagination!
It's very good for a local children's museum lllll I don't know kids city.personally I enjoyed West Hartford children's museum science center but that's probably 80% nostalgia 10% giant whale and 10% just amazing exhibits & activities
Very good for kids. Wish more places were like this! Can be pricey unless you can buy a season pass
Awesome place to take your kids. So many environments for them to play in from medieval towns to old school shops and grocery stores to farms, there is something for everyone. There is also a large area for younger kids and toddlers to run around and play in. Highly recommended for a half day out.
Place for kids to use their imagination through play. Good place for baby and toddler playdates. Great
A very fun place for little kids. So much detail in the play areas. When it’s super crowded it’s not that fun for parents but the kids don’t seem to care.
Kid City is far and away the BEST place I've taken my son's, ages 6 and 1. The museum is CLEAN, inviting, everyone is friendly, and the exhibits are breathtaking and inspire so much creativity and imagination. $10 per person is a very fair price for all it has to offer.
Prices are a bit high for adults but there is a lot for the kids to do there too keep them busy and interested. It's a place to keep going to every now and again for kids ages one through seven years old to explore together. I recommend going with a friend it makes the time better for the kids. Also you can get library passes from any town in the area to get in for free, just have to reserve ahead of time and return before the library closes. That's the best way to go.
Excellent place for little kids. Lots of activities.
Great Play date location! Year around fun, definitely spring for the membership! Would give a five but they did away with the kids birthday party option.
I rarely leave reviews. If you have kids, this place is amazing! They even have fully stocked extra diapers, wipes and clothes and kid friendly bathrooms. Very reasonably priced for how big it is.
Great place for the little ones. Fun and learning at the same time. Great interactive exhibits.
Love the hidden gem that is the little theater production room! It's my 4-year-old's favorite now
Great place for younger kids.
My kids love this place! There is something for everyone. I only wish the prices were a little lower for residents of Middletown. Good indoors entertainment for those winter months!
Phenomenal experience! It is as if an artist who knows kids designed the place. My son loved it. There is a whole floor for toddlers. This place is developmentally designed and is magical! We will return over and over!
The name says it all. It's a giant toy box for kids. Plan on spending a couple of hours there. Each child must have an adult with them. Adults must pay also even though there really nothing to do. There is no snack area where you could purchase a coffee or something to eat. Their gift shop is small (8×8 put in some inventory, and you might be able to fit 2 people)
My kid loved this place. Lot of things kids can enjoy and explore.
Great place for kids
Great place for kids and parents , definitely enough stuff to keep kids busy or for you to interact with you kids. Parking gets full fast & bring quarters for meters.
Such a great place for kids imaginative creative they can let their Explorer run wild
Best place EVER
Even when its busy, there seems to be plenty of room for people to disperse and take there kids to different rooms. Something for all ages, safe and friendly.
Really fun! So many different themes and activities. Saw staff consistently rotating through swiffering the floor and putting toys back so no matter when you got to room, most likely it was set up the way it was intended and not left in disarray from the kids. Nice to see a place that is well maintained despite the how rough and relentless the clientele can be.
This place was very cute. There's were so many different rooms to explore. My four year old had a lot of fun..
GET A MEMBERSHIP! It will pay for itself in a matter of weeks - a favorite stop for our family. HOURS of entertainment in a clean, welcoming environment.
Always a great time
The kids love it expect to stay awhile because the kids won't want to leave.
Amazing kids museum, very overwhelming crowds. There are about 8 or 9 very intricate rooms that spark the imagination and adventure in everyone (including the adults) while also staying realistic. The kids can play with everything in the rooms. The themes range from a medieval land, to a fishery, a diner/market, theater, and a farm. The rooms are well done and clean. It's amazing how well thought out the rooms are to include details such as putting bread in an oven and the bread comes out browned. There is a tiny area where you can eat lunch/snacks that you brought from home. The crowd is so overwhelming on a saturday, though, that it does take some of the enjoyment out of it. Would help if the parents stayed more on the outskirts instead of in the middle of all the kid exhibits. Price is reasonable given that you could easily spend 4 - 5 hours here with your kiddos.
I brought my granddaughter for the first time. She's 18 months...and absolutely loved it! She, and ME could have stayed all day. Great place!
Awesome place!! Looking forward to returning soon! Wish this place was open when I was a kid
So much to do for littles. He can enjoy the whole building unlike some children’s museums that just have a small area for littles.
I recently had the chance to go here with my grandson. It has to be the coolest place I have ever been! I am mad that I didn't have a place like this to go when I was a kid! It's a blast! There is a different theme in every inch of this huge place. It teaches so many things to the kids. If you have young kids and need something for them to do, this is the place! I can't wait to visit them again so we can go back!
Great place but $10/ person is a bit much. Why do adults need to pay? Just raise price to $15/kid.
Great fun outing for children 7 and under
So creative, unique, and elaborate. It is apparent that lots of thought and hard work has gone into this museum, right down to plenty of family bathrooms with emergency diapers/wipes/clothes. One of my favorite children’s museums in the country.
We visited once and next day kids want to go again the next day itself and we went again. Very good to keep kids engaged for 3-4 hours.
All-out FUN!!
Had a blast! Much to do with my 2.5 year old :) my 8.5 year old had fun as well, although he looked like the only kid there at his age ;p
This place is amazing! You can see so much thought and love was put into designing each exhibit. My son had a ball and talked about it for a week after. Perfect for little ones.
Absolutely loved this place, it is wonderful for children and so many different rooms and themes all centered around Child's Play. Definitely a wonderful place to take your children for the day and I highly recommend it.
Great place for kids of any age. Very interactive
Me and my son love going here!!!!
It's a really nice place to bring the kids. They can play while explore different rooms.
Awesome place, one of the best children's museums we have ever been.
Awesome place, my kid and I loved it
My kids love this place, especially the new mid evil room!! There is something there for every age group. From the bright colors and beautiful designs to the imaginary play, there is surely something there for every kid can get into.
My kids love it here! They are 4 1/2 and three and we’ve been coming for two years. It can be crazy crowded so I always dress them in bright, easy to spot colors. It’s a blue star museum so it’s free for military members and families from Memorial Day to Labor Day, other wise it would be a bit pricey for us without a membership. It’s always clean and the staff are great.
AWESOME place for kids. My 2 year old grandson loved it. Will definitely go again.
We had an amazing time! My son is under 2 years old and the toddler room down in the basement was absolutely perfect for him! We also love all the family bathrooms with emergency diaper kits - what a smart and helpful idea! Can't wait to come back again! The best part is that after you pay admission, you can come back multiple times during the day. We went twice, once before his nap and once afterwards. It was perfect!
Awesome place. Kids loved it. Lots to do and explore
This place is amazing! My 18 month old loved it and it is in the middle of great places to eat to get food afterwards!
Such a great place to bring a kid especially on a rainy day. Very clean, plenty of bathrooms and lots of stuff to explore.
The fish room is mostly out of commission, which was incredibly disappointing, given what they charge.
My son loves this place, it's pretty awesome and indoors for not so nice days. They have amazing themed rooms, the castle one is the best. It's not a big deal and I doubt kids would care either way but expanding would be cool, or having a rotating theme room would be cool. I mean I like seeing the rooms just as much as my son does. But either way we both love this place. And there's great food at a bunch of places close by, and Amato's is right there too.
A unique take on the children’s museum. Ages 1-7 years, 3-6 is the sweet spot. $10 per person over 1 year. My kids love it and ask for it by name. The bonus is it is located in the center of a lovely New England town.
Kids loved it. Filthy exhibits covered in years of grime, no fresh air inside, fairly expensive since parents just stand around. Cramped during busy hours. Undersea toddler world was magical, cleaner, fanciful, artfully done in Gaudi style, quiet, out of the way, and the best part of the whole day.
Terrific open play space for kids
Brought 16 month old grandson in, he spent next 2.5 hours in like only 25% of the sections... He plum had a blast and wore himself out!
Kid city is the perfect escape for your kids. Completely kid friendly, clean and well maintained, and each room is themed and designed to foster teamwork and social skills. It is a 45 minute drive from home, but it is well worth the commute. I've taken my 2 (now 3) year old here many times, and I will absolutely return.
I took my niece here a while back when she was 2. She had a blast exploring each room and interacting with other kids. I have to say we all had a blast. It’s an affordable and safe, fun way to spend your day with little ones or your family.
This is my absolute favorite place and my kids like it too! It's always clean and tidy no matter how busy it is. Everyone that works there is so friendly and helpful. This place is an absolute gem. Investing in a membership is totally worth it as they have member Mondays 9 to 11 that is never ever crowded. Just remember to bring drinks and snacks because they don't sell any here.
Great place to keep your kids entertained!
Fantastic place to take young children to, fun for adults too.
My 3 year old had a blast!!!
What an amazing and fun place for all ages ! We spent 4 hours exploring every room. Everything was very clean and well taken care of. Each room brought a new experience. I loved the "parent kit " in the bathrooms that provided diapers, wipes and pants for anyone who forgot to bring some. What an amazing place
Creativity helps children grow!
We visited Kids city museum recently and my 4 year old had a blast. My 8 year old found things to keep her entertained too even though the set up is geared towards kids 5 and under. We went on a February holiday. Even though it was very crowded all rooms were kept clean and well arranged. Very courteous and friendly staff. Lot of activities to keep kids entertained spanned across 3 floors. I would highly recommend this place to families with little kids.
My daughter loves coming here... The activities they have a kids is great if you need something to get the kids away from the iPhones and iPads and get them exercising it’s a great place
This place is great! Each room is full of interactive displays from a grocery store to a village. The museum is placed inside a very old home that shines through around those hidden corners. We mostly enjoyed the room with the fish...rubber fish..and the room with the castle and village. So much fun!
We loved this place! This is what a children's museum should be! From the outside, it doesn't look like much, and when I saw the price compared with the images I was seeing, I was not convinced, but... We had a discount from our local children's museum membership, so we decided to check it out - we were in the area for something like 3 weeks, and went to KidCity 3 times, and had a blast every time. There just so much to see and do, and it's exciting to explore. I love that they have a special area for little ones, too.
Had a blast with our child. This place is a must visit if you have kids.
What a great experience. 1st time there. The staff was awesome. Will be back.
Nice place. But always overly crowded. Parking is always at full capacity. Also It is pretty expensive especially when they charge adults as well.
Even more better than when I went there as a child :0
kid city is so much fun! we brought my cousin there and he absolutely loved it, it truly is a creative experience
Unbelievable place. Kids love it! Totally interactive!!!
Very nice place to get their energy out.
This is a good place to keep little mind active. It's big enough for 3hours or more of fun for kids from 1-7 year's old
Best kids museum in ct
Took our 3 and 5 year old grandsons. Plenty of activities. Fish room very popular but can use some staff supervision.
Super fun for my three year old and always very clean. It's a place where children learn through play and imagination. Moreover there are lots of opportunities for kids to work together.
Kid City is AMAZING !!! So much thought and care goes into the exhibits...a super fun place for smaller kids...every detail is impeccable...i used to bring my daughter who is now 29 ...it was fun then...but this combines art and science in a whole new way. Best for kids under 10...super fun. My 14 month old graddaughter loved it today. So many ways for her to enjoy the many spaces...well definitely be going back
This is an amazing museum/play space. It can be pretty crowded, but it's still a ton of fun. Don't be the parent sitting in the corner on your phone! play with your kids! it's such a fun space, even for adults!
Lots of fun for younger kids..my daughter loved it there
Really amazing children's museum for younger children. The museum has a variety of theme rooms where kids can explore, play, and learn. The themes and activities in each room will delight and entertain any child. They even have a room for children under 2. The decor and attention to detail are incredible. It is very clean, and has those little things like emergency accident kits in the restrooms show how great this place is for kids and parents alike. You cant go wrong bringing the kids to Kid City.
So much fun, they think of everything
Price was perfect. The separate area for the 2yr olds and under was amazing. She had an awesome time!
The kids love it here and it really helps that they can play with everything. Everything they see they can touch and play with can get crowded tho.
So much fun!
We took our 2 year old granddaughter and she had such a blast. So many rooms, all hands on, colorful fun
Incredible place. If you've ever been to another children's museum only to be disappointed to find it was nothing more then a large crowded playroom rethink what a "children's museum" can be. This kid's attraction is 3 floors of intricate and interactive "rooms". Each room has a different theme and is filled with well thought out and unique activities that your sure to not have found anywhere else. They seem committed to constantly adding and improving every inch and you could go back over and over and still not find it all. The spot is busy but large enough not to seem crowded and theres something for everyone. Whether your little one is just crawling or old enough to tackle the entire playground your sure to find hours of fun. Great way to spend a rainy or cold day together as a family and watch the hours just fly by. GREAT JOB!
Fun. Surreal. Surprising. Very enjoyable. You'll be surprised how much time you'll spend in each room... Nice people hear, both attendants and patrons.
Seriously top notch! My kids are 4 and 3 and LOVED every second. The artwork, the sound effects, the details! Such a great children’s museum
"This place is awesome!!!" As my 3yo would say. But honestly they're always updating it and making it super creative and fun and really intricately designed! I highly recommend if you have kids from 1 to eight or 9! Even older kids (ahem, adults) will love it, but maybe not completely own up to it. ;)
Are you kidding me!!!! This place was absolutely amazing. My daughter, who was 15 months old at the time absolutely loved it!! At this age, I had to be cautious of where she could climb around, but there was so much she could do safely. That’s not to say that an older kid wouldn’t have fun, too. Honestly....this place would probably do well with an adult night. That’s just to say that age range doesn’t matter here. Guaranteed good time :)
Don't give your kids just any gift! Give them an experience, an adventure! When other gifts have broken or lost their appeal, the gift of a day trip to Kid City and it's memories will last long after the actual visit! And everyone will be better off for your wise decision!
AWESOME TIME! I cannot figure out who had more fun-- me, or my three year old daughter!
Very well thought out. My toddler had a wonderful time playing in a place where he could touch all the things. I liked that he could run around without me running after him. The play spaces were clean and well maintained and I've never seen a more kid-friendly bathroom
Fun for the grandkids and grandparents. Lots of cool stuff for the kids with hands on activity. Lunch is a short walk to the Main Street and a Great toy store ,Amato’s, just steps away.
An exceptional kids place! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! You can't explain it. You must just experience it!
Great place to take young kids very hands on.
We LOVE it here!! We got a membership for Christmas and it’s been the best gift ever! So much fun and interesting little things for kids to get into. My two year old is always so happy here.
We love this place. Our grandchildren beg to go here. Put your walking shoes on, the children are busy, busy, busy. Very reasonable for all they offer.
My kids love KidCity. Every room has a theme for kids to play. We spent 2 hrs there and my kids doesnt want to go home
We love Kid City. There are so many unique activities for kids of all ages. It seems like they are always working on improvements. I’m so appreciative of all the details: amazing bathrooms, kits with extra clothes and diapers, nursing room, snack room, fun hand washing station. It’s always hard to leave!
Awesome place for children and adults too
Love this place! Great for the kids, so inventive and creative! And it’s fun for adults as well. Worth the membership!
Fun place for kids! Pack a lunch or snacks and head there for some serious exploration. Crowds can be an issue if your little one is sensitive, they have lots of quiet spots tucked away, as well as family bathrooms, with extra supplies if you need them. Give time to explore. There are several floors of creative play awaiting you.
Great place to take the kids for a few hours and let their imaginations run wild! Fun, clean, inexpensive. Only complaint was the "snack area", tables are too small to spread food out for more than one person.. Always a good time here!
Took my daughter here and let her run free
had. a 1, 3 and 4 year old.. everyone had something fun to do!
Amazing and beautiful space , beyond your wildest imagination!
This is my favorite children's museum of the 3 I've been to. It has lots of imaginative activities and is great if your toddler lives climbing!
Of all the children's places in eastern Ct this is my favorite. Appropiate Age 1-6, its not really for older kids in my opinion. Lots of different themed rooms so you can spend some time in each and stay for hours easily
This place is a gem and worth every penny. Currently it is $10 a person for anybody over 1 yrs. Your child will be well entertained.
Perfect for toddlers/pre-schoolers. We have been to numerous children's play places and museums, and this is by far our favorite. There's so much to do, but it's not chaos. There are a ton of individual themed rooms (a castle, a blocks room, a fishery, etc), as well as smaller areas where kids can chill out when they get over stimulated and need a break. This place is incredible.
Soooo much fun! This children's museum sure has transformed since it's opening around 20 years ago! Recently went here with my daughter and grandson and he/we were soooo impressed and he had a blast! Will definitely visit again soon! ( :
Always a great place to get the kids energy out. They always enjoy it, no matter how many times we go. So much interesting stuff to play with and see, they are slowly adding more stuff to do, like a room full of building blocks, and a living room with a blanket tent. Very cool ideas there, always a blast.
Great place but they shouldn't charge parents or atleast half price
What a wonderful place. My girls (4 & 1 1/2 years old) loved it an had so much fun, me too.
This place embodies everything that is wonderful about childhood. I LOVE to watch my kids play here, its magical!
What a super great time I had with my 6 y.o. grandson!
If you have a baby then GO DOWNSTAIRS. It's super awesome downstairs lots for the little one to do and it's so much quieter and less hectic then upstairs. With that said the whole place is amazing. We did spend some time upstairs with our little one, but you really need to keep an eye out. The older kids are very much in their own world so they can easily knock a little one.
I love this place! It's a safe supportive environment for kids to explore and learn! They have an area to eat but no food on site so bring your own. Super family friendly things like extra diapers and clothes in the bathrooms!
My daughter LOVES this place!!!!
Best play space I've visited so far. All the details were so fun and they have great areas for nursing mothers. We loved Middleshire and the Ship area with magnetic fish.
Great place for kids. Best children’s museum I have been. Lots of unique details
This place has amazing ways to teach kids while playing. Its wonderful.
Unbelievably creative and hands on for all ages.
Such a fun place for any age kids
