You must have seen that it has an average rating is practically the best, and it's founded on a very large number of feddbacks, so we can be quite sure that the rating is very credible. If many people have bothered to rate when they've done well with the business, it works.

REVIEWS OF Boothe Memorial Park IN Connecticut

Susan Kullberg

A very nice park to walk around on an early spring day. The buildings will be open later on in the summer and it appears some clubs meet here also. The old toll booths from the connector bridge are here also if people would like to see them. Many younger people don't remember the tolls and that the tolls in CT were taken down.

Very cool historical site

Bryan Generous

Train museum is great. Wish they took better care of the playground down the hill better. It's washed away so much there's big drops off the slides. And I wish they opened the buildings more often. They're cool to look into though for s casual walk.

Booth Memorial Park. Don't be fooled by the name. Although I am an outdoor person, the park took my breath away by its magnificence. Go there and you will see sweeping 45-15 degrees , green carpet-like slopes adotted with beautiful low hanging trees creating the perfect shade from the sun. But, there is more: there are nice flower gardens and lots of historical artifacts. You will see historic buildings, carriages, guns, swords, implements etc. My joy, however, was the trees and the slopes. I was a kid again. I laid under the trees one after the other. At other times, I was just a ball rolling down the slopes. If I was not scared, I would have skated down the equally sloping avenues. But, alas, I dont have that balance anymore. Booth Memorial, nice nice nice place to visit.

Susan Corso

Had my Mom's memorial service there. & Many happy memories from visiting there in my youth

Brit Werner

Lovely place to walk around and the unique nature of the buildings is fun and interesting. I highly recommend going there for a nice stroll. The playground is also very nice. You do have to walk down a slight hill and with young children that you have to carry, this stinks. Still, I recommend it. The rock climbing wall is amazing!

sue csugi

Strange little park with interesting buildings. Cool little place to walk around. Has plaques with explanations of the buildings. Also a nice open space behind it to walk or picnic. Think there are actually benches somewhere down at the bottom of the hill. There is a little cemetery next door and a community center or some sort of hall right there too.

Trinity the singing Wolamute

Great place to go for pokemon community day!

Tom moscicki

Nice park to visit in the Fall. Highlights of the park include, a colonial home built in the 1800's. It is (and has been for a while) open to the public for guided group tours. An appointment is needed. Also, they have the Merritt Parkway toll booth from when they had tolls on CT highways, which was 15+ years ago. Park also features a cemetery, old wind mill, a flower garden and nice views of the Housatonic river. If you go down the hill, a playground, baseball field and small picnic shelter can be found. Almost forgot to mention, wedding ceremonies can also be arranged at this park, (not sure how but it is really a lovely and quite place so I can see why people would want to.) and I have seen several on weekends when driving by. I would highly recommend visiting this park if your passing through town. Free parking, no fees. Roosevelt Forest is just 5 minutes away from this park. If you are looking for trails to hike, that is a great option. Interesting site, as well if your able to fall.

I grew up down the street and my great grandfather's picture hangs in one of the buildings. My Great Grandfather & sons had the first charcoal business in this area. My Great Grandmother used to pasture her cows on the Mill River Country Club Golf Course and at one time was in the family, the golfers golfed around the cows-(most of the time-woops!). I had the pleasure of watching the flowers bloom every year at the park and my Great Grandfather is buried in the cemetary there, his wife didn't want to be buried there after sleeping next to the-"old fool"-getting kicked every night whe was buried on the other end of town. I grew up sledding down the hills, riding the kiddie rides the spring held rockets and animals you rocked on, watching the birds in the Aviary-(amazing). I remember when they moved the old Putney Chapel across the street from the round about thingy that was there when I was little. Sledding on the golf course hills was always fun & usually a few tears shed before done. This park is one you'll never get to see anything else like it anywhere. It's special to me and my family and to most everyone that does go to see it. Tulips umparelleled as well as all the little out buildings. I was fortunate enough to get to take my own son there as a child and I hope you'll take yours when and if your ever in the area. Pack a picknic lungch and bring a blanket walk down and get your spot where the kids can ride the slide and swing and twirl and have the time of your life. I hope my spelling isn't too bad my new glasses aren't working so hot! But don't miss this!

An eclectic view of life as lived in the 1700's through the early 1900's. It was the Boothe family farm and was left to the Town of Stratford when the Boothe brothers passed. It is on the National Historic Registry.

Jen Lyon

Beautiful park to enjoy for a walk or a picnic. Check out the historic buildings and the river in the background. You can hear the trains occasionally in the background as they cross the bridge. Very relaxing place to hang out.

John Udiskey

I like the upper portion of the park. Has historic look and has the last Toll Booth in CT intact on the premises. Not a great place for a walk as it is very hilly. The kids swings are gone which is too bad, and the little pond is too over grown to see anymore. The pavilions are in good shape if you are looking for that

Winfred Mitchell

I remember always coming to the park with my family. They had multiple playgrounds and farm animals that lived there. I've also been there on class trips to go behind the scenes and see all the historical aspects it has to offer. Now we go there to eat lunch sometimes and walk our dogs and I'm sad to say the town has let the property go a little. The park needs restorations and the buildings are never really open to the public. And most of the animals are gone. The park can be a beautiful, fun, and even an educational place and hopefully one day I hope it is restored.
