REVIEWS OF Palm Springs Art Museum IN California

Logan Swiecki-Taylor

This place is the bees knees. They bring some pretty spectacular exhibits here. I've never been disappointed in the 6+ years I've been visiting the museum. Awesome curators, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful staff throughout. A great museum store. Oh so much more. Def check this place out if you wanna get an art fix!

Douglas Chen

A good place to learn about local art and history. Palm springs is a relatively new developed place. Indians are the original residents. Their artworks are coming from their daily life and more about their daily life. People and artists moved here from other places bring their own perspectives on the hot desert's specific views and environment. Naturally, Palm springs became a place where classic meets modern and old meets new. The results are interesting and inspiring from art point of view.

Chloe Fre

Amazing art and nice staff! Very inspiring. I highly recommend to any art lover!

Brooke Baron

Fantastic staff. Jennifer was very accommodating.

Kyra Hoffmann

Great Museum with a wide variety of art. Some thing for everyone. The docent led tour really provided good insights and context.

Peter Hill

An amazing art museum. Great focus on eclectic art of the west.

Deborah Maukar

Great collections, one of the best, well curated museum I have been in a long while.

Greg Pita

One of the most beautiful museums I have been to. Don't let the outside of the building fool you, it's an absolute gem filled with amazing pieces on the inside. Don't forget to check out the Museum Trail right behind the museum for a forest hike an amazing view.

Grant Stautzenberger

It's nice a quiet but some of the art is mundane at best. A whole section was just tables and rocking chairs.

Mattia Carletti

An amazing display of art for such a small town, it really shows their passion for every kind of art (painting, modern art, sculpture)

Salvador Ureta

More on modern art. Liked the exhibits.

L. Vram Gamalyan

Great collection and a wonderful way to spend the afternoon in Palm Springs. You can enjoy free entree Thursday evenings from 4pm to 8pm and parking is always free. Make sure to walk across the street where you can see and outdoor exhibition.

Cost: $ Rating: 4 stars Time: Takes about 1 - 2 hours The Palm Springs Art museum is relatively compact building at four stories but houses an interesting variety of art from contemporary to 19th native Indian artefacts from the local area. It houses an interesting array of post modern and modernist sculptures and artwork in its various exhibits plus lots of glass art sculptures from Prominent glass artistes like Chihuly. There are no super famous artwork but the curated collection on exhibit is eclectic and interesting for the guests. I like that the museum has a program where they train the school kids to become docent themselves so that those kids can train other kids to become interested in art. My tip: start at the top most floor and work your way down to the main floor.

Andrei Ursu

Nice museum with a lot of things to see

Josué Becerra González

Great museum, 4 floors A lot of stuff to see. Handicap accessible, restaurant inside, a lot of bathrooms, etc. If you are visiting Palm springs it's a must. Closes @ 5 PM

Matt

One of my all time favorite art museums! Quite large with a varietie of different works with a fair amount of rotating exhibitions to come visit at later points while still being able to come in and enjoy some of the works you have seen last. There are plenty of nice bathrooms and it is well cooled inside. They ever have a neat outdoor sculpture garden. Prices are only 6 bucks for students (with ID) and if you have a roam pass or NAReciprocal you can get in free. They have large areas of free shaded parking and although I have not experienced either, they have a cafe and theater inside if you really want to spend some time here.

Tom Friend

Beautiful Displays and very Educational!

Alisha Morittz

Fun place to go for locals. Free on Thursday night. Right next to the street fair.

Saskia Happe

What a great museum to visit!! Also great for kids, my girl from 10 loved it!!

Isaac Robinson-Stark

Palm Springs Art Museum has a fantastic assortment of unique arts that are not only have a diverse cast of artists but also often say something politically that moves you. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Except the trash bag art. That is literally piles of trash and doesnt have any meaning or statement about it.

Deborah Mankoff

This museum has a very nice permanent collection which includes California artists, donations from patrons. The patrons have donated amazing paintings and baskets. What I love are the new exhibits which rotate through.

Radha Stern

Fantastic art muesum. Nice cafe and GREAT gift shop. Go!!!

m quinlan

Loved it! Wide variety of art beautiful building...

Cheryl Vitali

Lovely art museum with free admission on Thursday evenings with the street faire starting at 4:00 in the afternoon. It's well worth the visit. Quite a bit of modern art, they also had two Van Gogh and other well known artists.

Nicolle Spann

Came here to the art museum not expecting more than a few hours of air conditioning. We were pleasantly surprised by the collection of modern and contemporary art with a few Van Gough paintings. We enjoyed our walk around the museum and sculpture gardens. We also liked the bar downstairs and had a quick snack and drink before leaving the museum. This was a highlight of our trip to Palm Springs and would recommend it to anyone visiting.

Shauna Facciponti

This museum is a gem! Beautiful building, eclectic and respectable exhibitions to compliment staple pieces from artist you'd never expect to be able to see in person. Thanks to the city of Palm Springs for sponsoring the Free Thursdays that motivated to go check it out, and so very happy I did! Can't wait to go back!!!

Myra Barr

I love our beautiful museum. I like it because it is not as large as some others which take you all day to go through. Personally I am not a big museum fan (I always want to touch everything) so for me our two levels are just perfect. The exhibits are fun and are eclectic and fun for visitors and locals alike. NOW I will tell you my favorite part of any museum-- the gift shop !! Ours is particularly wonderful because beside the fun stuff to look at and buy, the BEST volunteer works there ! Rabbi Sally( my own Rabbi)is there on Thursdays. She is always weariing jewelry from the desiners! (She says it is the most expensive volunteer job she has ever had, Lol).So go on Thursday, see the exhibits, meet Rabbi Sally and then go to VillageFest and look at more beautiful artists work. Have dinner downtown and fall in LOVE with Palm Springs again!

Julie Craig

Really fun museum that you can complete relatively quickly. They had some great selections and a very friendly staff.

GK Lundberg

So much more than I expected! Tremendous array. Something for everyone.

Anastasia Fedorova

Loved it lots! It’s small enough to enjoy each and every art piece. The excursions were informative by caring people. I scored an awesome t-shirt with an original print and colors.

Martin Biscombe

This is one of a kind sort of Art house. There are four levels full with a cafe in the basement. Currently they have an exhibit of a 40 min video of atomic explosions tests that happened in the 19 century. The sound and shear size of the blast is breathtaking. It really makes you think. Other items to not include but are not limited to the diversity of work held. Breathtaking ( stairs ).

Cal Caldwell

So many unique things to see. Wish we had more than just 40 minutes. An hour and a half would have worked.

Yasir Riaz

Went 1st time, wasnt expecting it to be this good. Its unique experience

Irma Zandl

I wish I was more into this museum but I find their installations too busy and the galleries are awkwardly laid out. Their current exhibition is great and the outdoor installation right across the street from them is interesting.

Sue Frause

This is a favorite museum, and my first stop whenever I'm in Palm Springs. Love the building, quality exhibits and friendly/helpful staff.

James Engel

Excellent selection of artists and media, well designed galleries, friendy attentive staff.

Claudia Ordonez

Let me start this review clarifying this review is strictly in a parent’s point of view which is why I’m giving it such low review. I came to this museum on a field trip with my kid’s school, the kids range in age from 3-6yrs old. From the beginning we were told not to touch or disrupt any of the exhibits in the museum. As an adult this is not an unusual request from a museum due to the amazing arts and how fragile and old an artifact maybe. However, early in our visit it became obvious majority of our kids from our school were being devotedly observed at a very close distance. Keep in mind all of the children in our class had a chaperone or mom/dad to supervise them. We did our very best to make sure these toddlers did not touch, get too close or even breath on the items on display. I actually watch as one of the children got away from his mom/dad and ended up touching one of the exhibits. Immediately after I watch a gentlemen (museum’s staff member) proceeded to tell this 4 yrs old, very abruptly “that’s it, strike 3 You are outta here!” so in a very unpleasant manner the museum staff member escorted the kid and his mom out the door. As I grab my daughter and walked away in disgust from what I had just witnessed I felt embarrassed for that mom and her son, I also felt unwelcome for the remainder of the field trip and very much on edge. I was very disappointed but I understood this museum is NOT the place to bring small children or children that are going to be wanting to touch, or stand too close to, or run around etc. I felt this is a great place for a much mature and older crowd. There is so many amazing items on display to see and to take in, this place is just not for small kids. As a field trip this was not the right choice for us it may be different for someone else. And for that, the museum is not to be blamed. I do wish they would teach their staff some people skills because it’s all in how you say something which is why I felt compelled to write this review. I hope that you have a much more pleasant experience when visiting, than the one I had.

Konrad L

Awesome free museum! Really cool combination of white and american indian art

Marie Bell

FABULOUS! Don't miss this gem of a museum. Very eclectic artistic pieces sure to evoke appreciation from all. Docent also very helpful.

donovan bartlett

This is a truly lovely museum. There is something for everyone in the exhibits. The indoor spaces are nicely laid out and have good signage for the exhibits. The two outdoor sculpture spaces are wonderful, as well. There is also a cafe and the Annenberg theatre at the museum. I went thru it twice in one week, once on my own and took my husband back another day. I enjoyed the 2nd visit as much as the first. There is a tremendous amount of wonderful exhibits to see!

Paulette Chambers

The Palm Springs Art Museum is a destination one must see when in Palm Springs. Just the building alone is incredible: very open interior, very contemporary. The glass collection is very impressive with works by Chihuly. There is a great assortment of Western art. The special exhibition, Unsettled, surprised us as we had seen this show in Anchorage, Alaska earlier in the year. It was a treat to see it installed again, in a different space. The museum does have an admission fee, but is free to the public every second Sunday of the month and on Thursdays from 4-8 pm. Wonderful gift shop. There is also a theater in the museum.

Jerry Payan

This is a very nice place to visit if you are ever in the area free on Thursday a lot of interesting art pieces

Todd Linsley

I liked it very much. On Thursday night's you can go for free, so my family (including two boys younger than seven) went. The boys lasted about an hour, but there was much more to see. Including four floors and a sculpture garden.

Angel Velasquez

This place had a great variety of art media and formats. They had an extensive ancient cultures art. Also many modern pieces from video to glas work. I was very impressed. They have plenty of parking and a very beautiful bulding that includes outdoor patios with metal art pieces. The whole place is a piece of art. A must for art people. A food place for the whole family to take time together and a good break from the weather be it hot or cold.

Cody Reed

Nice way to spend a couple hours.

Don Stidham

It's fabulous and so is the gift shop, we're so lucky to have it.....and there are two other locations. A visual treat. You will enjoy every minute, now go!

Ayleen Dority

Fantastic art museum with a wide range of exhibits! Much bigger than expected with great displays and lively atmosphere. Free on Thursday evenings, but always worth a visit.

Teacher JudyBea

Such a wonderful, wonderful place! Go on Thursday nights between 4:00 and 8:00 for free admission. It's a great investment of time.

Cheryl Armond

Wonderfully Mind Boggling!

Jesse Fish

Amazing. Be sure to join one of the free tours to maximize your experience.

Angela M. Hyland

Very contemporary, yet approachable. Appealing to all ages. 2-3 hour commitment of time.

Trevor Hayes

One of the best museums I have been to. Great modern art and very friendly staff that explains what type of art work we can find depending on the section of the museum.

Tanya McLeod

The museum is lovely! There is a nice variety of permanent exhibits. Andy Warhol’s art, the visiting exhibit, was quite fun to see! I really like the openness of the museum. Thursday evenings are free admission, take advantage of this generous offer. I’d visit again in a heartbeat!

francisco reyes

It was very interesting and fun

George Rockel

Great local art museum. A diverse collection and always bringing in traveling exhibits from around the world.

Daphne Chebeleu

One of the most impactful and beautifully curated museums I have been to so far. I loved the unsettled exhibit. It was so interesting so view all this art from a native American lense. We did the free guided tour and our guide was lovely. They do free entry every 2nd Sunday of the month. Well worth your time!

J. G.

Former shell of what it used to be. Staff is rude and non existent, thanks to the museum being cheap and letting employees go. Exibits are not that great and fee is too high to get into. Awful.

Tracey Welsh

Nice art collection but employees could be friendlier.

Paul Barbera

Good art show, great break from the heat.

Jim Bagley

If you are looking for cool place to spend a Palm Springs afternoon try this museum for art. It is within easy walking distance of the downtown restaurants and shops. The permanent displays are wonderful and the every changing gallery features will keep you coming back. It Is free on Thursday’s and there is alway plenty of parking. It one of the cultural highlights of the greater Coachella Valley. As a local I visit several times a year and look for special events of interest. This is a destination for entertaining out of town guests visiting. You will enjoy discovering it.

Round Trip Weekend

We had a great experience visiting the Palm Springs Art Museum. It is located in downtown, parking on their lot was easy, and we enjoyed our visit a lot! We took fantastic photos.

Kevin Duffy

Beautiful exhibits, nice atmosphere, and inviting employees.

Jane Levine

Excellent museum. Great exhibit, "Unsettled," on now. Lovely, small outdoor sculpture gardens. Definitely go if you are in Palm Springs.

Santiago Pazos

FANTASTIC museum! If you are in PS for a visit you need to stop there and enjoy the beauty of the art! They have a super cohesive permanent collection, in combination with good quality rotating exhibits. The garden outside is quite nice, and you have a bar with food next to it. If you an art lover you must go

Mannuel Corona

For one thing, it's a nice air condition place to go in Palm Springs. But even if I compare the Palm Springs Art Museum two other art museums I'd still give it 5 stars. They have indoor and outdoor exhibits, they keep it fresh with new exhibits constantly, and they have a children's Zone. The museum is clean, the workers there are polite, and the store is filled with cool mementos. Take your kids, wife, or go alone but go.

Nicholas Cunningham

Its a bit small. But the art is lovely.

Tom Young

I guess it's got a little something for everyone. The modern art section is a little more classy than most of the others I've been to, so that's nice

Jerry Kroeger

We go on Thursday night when it is free, but it is well worth paying for and there were a lot of new displays since our last visit. There is a little place to eat downstairs and the museum trail out back to to north is very challenging.

Laura McKay

Very nice museum & central location. Plenty of parking & wonderful auditorium for lectures & movies.

Amparo Espinoza Castillo

Loved it. Not crowded and beautiful expositions!

Adrian Agoot

Went to view their "Unsettled" exhibit. It was awesome! The administrators were extremely insightful and added just enough flavor in their commentary to help me really enjoy the pieces. It was my wife first time. We will definitely visit again!

Emily Pitts

Great displays, just the right size for the evening. Amazing lecture from Ana Theresa Fernandez on the Mexico/US border from an artist/activist point of view.

Daniel Gilbert

Great friendly staff. Beautiful property. Great layout. Enough to keep you busy. Plenty of great Art. Inspiring.

Susie Owens

Loved it. Nicest staff and so much fascinating art. We attended an interactive class in storytelling. Had a great time!

mark chacon

Love this museum. Permanent collection is world class and exhibitions are contemporary. I also enjoy the location next to San Jacinto mountains and downtown Palm Springs. Three levels with elevators, gift shop, cafe, and sculpture garden.

Bill Craven

Great art, great building. Be sure to check out both museums.

Paul Ngo

The art museum has lots of security. They don't let you carry backpack inside.

Judy Clavin

Wonderful assortment of modern art, unique, mind boggling visuals, mental food for the soul.

Vickie Bray

Great venue and definitely will use again

Karen Grace

You can't beat the range of art on display at this Museum! when we entered the building we were greeted by piles of brightly colored spices from around the world. It was nothing I've ever seen anywhere else.

Millie mill

Great art museum featuring amazing artist. The native American collection is amazing as well. A must see in palm springs

Joe

Just back home after a morning visit to the museum. The permanent collection is varied and engaging. The current rotating exhibits are absolutely perfect. The mixture of art has something for everyone. What I enjoy most about this venue is that it offers many contemporary works (20th/21st century). And if you have a BofA credit/debit card entry is free the first weekend of every month! Also, on Thurs. eves (check the times) it is also free. Make sure you leave a donation!

Cathy M

They have items in the museum that are exhibited on a regular basis but their traveling exhibits are fantastic. Each time we have gone they have been great. We went the night of the street fair and the entrance fee was free.

Jeska Leigh

Beautiful. Everyone who works there is very knowledgeable about the art work on display

Greg Rutten

Great spot. I will be back

Will Deeg

the perfect size of a Fine Arts Museum from Western Art, to Native American art and hand-woven rugs and baskets two Modern Art and wonderful expositions. It's the kind of Museum you can take in in one day without being overwhelmed

franb2001

Beautiful and interesting collection.

S Penderites

Always interesting and surprising. Love that it is still free on Thursday afternoons in conjunction with the Palm Springs street fair. The exhibits are always rotating, and the outdoor sculpture garden is a great place to hand out or rest. The cafe is fun as well for coffee or a light meal.

patricia andrews

Not to be compared with other major metropolitan museum's, the PS museum is worth the visit. The docents are very helpful and enthusiastic. Beside the permanent collection they do have rotating collections. There is a cafe and 2 outdoor gardens that are worth checking out. On Thursday between 4 and 8 p.m. admission is free. Lots of people take advantage of this opportunity.

Danelle Kelley

One of my favorite museums.Fantastic art n displays. So close to downtown. Staff very helpful.

Rob

Whenever I visit, my first thought is "they demolished the beautiful Desert In for this??" A few nice pieces plowed into a lot of misguided acquisitions inside a pretty bad modernist building that resembles a '60s, above-ground bomb shelter. IMHO, the 2 Anselm Keiffers are worth the price of admission. On the other hand, the smaller annex a few blocks away, inside a converted glass-box bank building, always has interesting temporary exhibitions. It's a gorgeous little space with terrazzo floors and tall ceilings that just feels cool and breezy when you walk in.

Thierry Leduc

Absolutely wonderful museum. Great art displayed in a very pleasant setting. Always a pleasure to visit.

Mike EP

Kind of bland for an art museum. Lots of better things to see and do in Palm Springs

Michael Giesler

The best Museum in Southern California. A must see for locals and tourists alike.

Bracelet Blonde

Definitely a must, if you are in town. My adult children and I go Everytime we visit, approx, 1 x a year. Fresh, innovative - a field trip for all!

ruth corrales

It was truly amazing and quite, it is very welcoming to everyone.

Crystal Eidanizadeh

Lovely and full of surprises! Could’ve spent hours there. The cafe is fun too! Gotta sit in the sculpture garden. It’s beautiful and relaxing!

Mary Chown

We came to escape the heat and enjoyed the whole place. The building is beautifully designed and the collections were interesting and diverse. The sculpture garden and botanical specimens were fascinating in spite of my being a Chihuly fan. Really cool collection of glass artists’ works.

Rene Garcia

Thursday night is free entry. The exhibit space is well designed. Definitely worth checking out the design of the Men's Restroom on the lower level.

Jérémie Meyer de Ville

A not so big museum with a larger than life collection! Some very very famous artists too! Like a Picasso a sculpture... Super interesting and diverse pieces of art. The building itself it also worth the visit! Outdoor sculptures with the mountains and palms as a backdrop is just perfect.

Mikey McCully

Very cool place. If you are ever in PS check this amazing art museum. It’s definitely cool and they have a really good cafe at the bottom of the museum.

Daniela CG

Cool architecture, convenient size to see it all in a few hours, many interesting pieces, and I also liked the museum shop and Persimmon Cafe!

castro7052

I am a valley resident and am sure to visit the museum at least once a year. The staff are all very nice, and the exhibits are always fascinating.

Jimmy Valentin

Awesome artwork. Great experience

Brian B

An outstanding art museum located in the cultural beating heart of PS. It has an eclectic mix of modern and contemporary art as well as some American classics such as their pieces out of the Hudson River School. It's a beautifully designed building, particularly inside where the center portion opens up and one can see a large swath of art from many vantage points going up to the third floor. I count this museum as one of the better California destinations, similar to the Mission San Juan Capistrano and Laguna Art Museum, to get grounded in the larger history of California's emergence into the modern imagination all over the world. I also got a better idea of how a sleepy old western desert town was transformed into a sophisticated international destination for the rich and famous, with its creative vibe and love of sleek modern architecture. I came on Second Sunday, when it is free. Allow yourself plenty of time if you really want to dive in to what's available here. I had three hours and found myself scrambling to complete my walk-through in the last half hour. I also returned after museum hours to watch a screening for the Palm Springs International Film Festival in the Annenberg Theater housed downstairs, which was an excellent venue though some features like the upholstery seem dated.

Jerome Solberg

This is a fantastic art museum. Make sure to do the hike above the museum (it's quite steep so wear good shoes and bring some water)

Jay Gee

The young white lady taking our entrance fee seemed to have some serious attitude toward the CIS white guy in our group. Not cool. Then she was all smiles to a couple following right behind us consisting of a black lady and latino guy, even said she'd give them the student price although they weren't students. Discriminate and bigot much?

Kylie Horenberger

So much fun! We spent nearly 3 hours wandering the museum. Some very beautiful paintings, baskets, sculptures, a really cool piece made out of toast, a melting rug... So many wonderful pieces! And the A.C. is on point.

Adrienne Valencia

Wonderful space with such an interesting collection. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, too.

Aimee Parris

Awesome place to start a PokeRoute

Aliscia Scheinrock

Great place. Friendly

Terri Canga

Wonderful museum. We like to go on free nights Thursday 6-8 during the street fair. There is a cool babies sculpture yard between the museum and the Rowan hotel of about 15 huge babies crawling around in this below level lot.

Elsa De La Cruz

Really encouraging for the youth. The art is amazing and you can be there for hours if you wanted. Really informative about the locals and different medias.

Courtney Stoneburg

Beautiful exhibits. Fun fact! If you're a B of A customer, entrance is free.

Edith Torres

Fabulous museum. Had so many different areas. My favorite area were the miniatures. Incredible glass artist.

Lee LeFevre

Really great for a small art museum. Start at the top floor and work your way down. Open late and free on Thursdays.

Carol Adney

Love it. Lots to see. Definitely go on a docent free tour for fascinating background info

Nic Chebeleu

Wonderful museum with thought provoking exhibits. I went for their free days with my wife during a Native American exhibit. I took a guided tour and learned so much! The second Sunday of every month is free to the public. I will come here whenever in Palm Springs.

Laure Wilson

Absolutely Fantastic!!! I am an artist and it was inspirational. Everyone friendly and happy. I will return for sure.

Johnny Lam

Museum was a great place. I would totally recommend it for families as it has a lot of culture to learn about. The exhibits were lovely, eye opening and super interesting. So why the 1 star review, their employees, namely a security guard by the name is Michael Martinez. He is young, inexperience at interacting with customers and uncompassionate. We were walking around with our 2 yr old baby girl in her stroller, quietly enjoying the pieces and exhibits when Mr. Martinez curtly said to my wife, "excuse me, did you see the sign of no food or water?" My baby daughter was just holding onto her bottle of water because she loves her water bottle. She wasn't even drinking it mind you when he again reminded us that there was no food or water allow. We said we understood but that we're not letting her drink it but just holding it. I might have understood his rudeness, strictness, being short with us and even following us around to secretly see if we were drinking it but we were not. I told him that she was not drinking it all she wanted to do was to just hold it but obviously he doesn't have kids to know that she just wanted the security of holding her own bottle of water. We emptied the bottle and gave her back the bottle to which she started crying because her water was gone. I went back to get his full name so that I could file a formal complaint with his supervisor. He was even being a condescending and sarcastic about that asking if I would like him to go ask his manager to come down so I could take it up with him now. That was the straw that broke the proverbial camel's back. He was just this young kid trying to power trip over simple rules. If he were to say, "excuse me ma'am, there's no food or water allowed inside please make sure your baby doesn't drink it and pls be mindful of trash." Then that would totally been better and could have diffused the encounter but that's not how he handled it. In any case, there could have been many ways for Mr. Martinez to handle the situation and it is my hope that the museum's management trains their folks better. Just as their exhibits and pieces of art if a reflection of them, so is their employees. But do go see the museum, it's a great place to explore!

Mikaela Roel

A beautiful medium size museum with a lot of different artworks. I really liked the textiles section.

Kayleigh Harris

Incredible exhibits and absolutely wonderful guides who are incredibly knowledgeable.

Mary Harris

Loved our visit! Great representation of glass works, Western, Contemporary, mid century, & a Diego Rivera piece that was a nice surprise. Thursday night is free @ 4pm & it was packed w/a lot of art lovers.

De Aunna Amorette Hardrich

This is the first time I was able to see living art. It was a good experience.

Cari Hughes

Easily accessible to the public, no entrance fee, especially Thursday evening when the nearby Village Fest, which is a street fair with artisans and local companies close the street once a week. Wonderful casual and welcoming environment for both sites.

April Darling

The tour I went on was great! Had an amazing time here. It's a must to come here every rime I come to Palm Springs.

Clive Freeman

An excellent, broad, collection of modern art pieces, ranging from sculpture through painting and construction to Twitter poetry. We very much enjoyed spending half a day walking through here, and I was impressed with the knowledge and helpfulness of the staff.

Jamey Janssen

Fun place to visit! Good way to spend the afternoon.

Mike Kelley

Take the following with a grain of salt, because the issue may be me: this "art" museum is horrible. I found maybe three or four art pieces. The rest is junk. (To me). I would be interested to find out if my opinion is in majority or minority of opinions.

Spencer Church

I love this museum. When I visit Palm Springs, I always look forward to seeing the most wonderful contemporary glass exhibits.

Rob Clifford

Nice eclectic collection of artwork, varying from traditional paintings depicting local Palm Springs scenes, mid-century modern furniture influenced by local artists, and glass exhibits featuring some vivid, colorful pieces. Keep your eye open for their free admission times!

David Ansel

Interesting art that captures local history and culture. Good way to escape the heat. Not too big or small.

Teresa Wood

Really interesting modern art. Have some cool exhibitions at the moment including ‘unsettled’ which has a lot of different forms of art. The tour guide wasn’t very good all things we could see on the cards next to the paintings anyway. They also had some cool optical illusions and instillations.

Will Farquharson

Really cool and funky art, with a nice gift shop with stylish things. Overall a nice place to wander around and have some fun.

Kel Green

Everything was wonderful from the start to the finish. From the massive amount of security, admission & gift shop, everyone was very friendly, helpful & welcoming. Will come back again!

Jazmin Nerey

Has nice works and a nice setup

Autum F

A very nice museum to visit. A little gem in the desert! Had a beautiful day admiring all the creative pieces inside and out. Would highly recommend!

Stephan Mauer

Absolutely a hidden jewel of the desert. And it's not just a place to view great art. Visit their web site to see all that goes on there.

Camila Claycomb

I have really enjoyed The Palm Springs Art Museum in the past and was really excited to go as a family as we are currently touring museums in Southern California. Woah! If you want to feel unwelcome somewhere with your kids, then this is the place to go. So far, the most non-family friendly museum we have visited. Won’t be returning, sadly. Our children were very well behaved throughout our visit and have been to many museums, but it was made clear from the moment we stepped in that they were not wanted there.

Diego R

Very interesting pieces. Nice building. Very well located.

Brian Miller

The art work is beautiful, as is the building.
