At the present this business has a score of 4.9 stars over 5 and that rating is based on 749 reviews.
You may have noticed that it has an average rating is practically the top, and it's based on a very high number of opinions, so we may be quite sure that the evaluation is quite faithful. If many people have bothered to value when they are satisfied with the business, it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to set feddbacks when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...

This is a beautiful place. They have a large collection of vehicles from the 20s and 30s. They also have a large collection of spark plugs, hood ornaments, brochures, awards, lights and their own library. The staff is fantastic, always willing to answer questions. Take the time to go through the train and check out some beautiful interiors, you are also allowed to enter the engine. Free parking and free entrance, just be sure make reservations for the tour across the street. Plan ahead for that.
I had not heard of this place before. I just googled things to do near me. This came up as one of the things. It is absolutely amazing. My nine-year-old son and I had an amazing time. So many incredible cars and other things to see. A super cool classic train that we took a tour of. There are other things too that we didn’t do, but I have to say this place is great and surprisingly it’s FREE!
If you enjoy looking at beautiful vintage cars, you need to take the tour!!
Incredible collection of cars. A must visit for anyone interested in classic cars. Admission and parking are free, too.
We keep going back. Excellent collection.
A remarkable collection of cars and working musical instruments. It is free too.
If you like cars, it's your place for the weekend
Guys love this place! I'm not really interested in cars....usually! But this place is so amazing that you get hooked in the first few minutes you are there! It's a must see for everyone, at least once. There is more to see than just their classic cars. ( although that is reason enough)
Antique and classic cars. The best part it's Freeeee
The car collection is amazing but the real wonder is the music machines orchestrions!
Amazing! And free! A must for classic car lovers!
Awesome! Impress your out of town vintage car loving guests with a visit to the museum.

Wow, just wow. So much more fun and interesting than I could have imagined.
Outstanding display of antique cars.
One side of the street houses some of the best examples of early 20th century luxury automobiles and it's free. Rolls Royce, Packard, Franklin, Bugatti, Cadillac, Lincoln, Cord, Daimler, Mercedes, Talbot Lago and a lot more. The building across the street, reservations only for a guided tour. Check their site for further information.
Amazing cars. Tons to look at. And FREE!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Nethercutt Museum, especially the guided tour (reserve your spot online in advance). Kyle who leads the tour is absolutely amazing and so engaging; he brings the exhibits to life with his enthusiastic and knowledgeable presentation. Their automotive collection is spectacular, but they have much more than cars to enjoy and learn about. To top it off, it's a beautiful facility, easy to get to, with free parking and admission. I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could!
It’s absolutely a hidden gem close to LA - Museum is free / informative and absolutely paradise for someone who is fan of vintage cars. Upon reservation one can get a guided tours please call the facility prior going. I went there post rose parade 2018 :)
Fantastic collection and amazing place, did not go to the second building where more cars and collectables are displayed. Must see if in the area.
Free parking, free admission and a great display of cars. The museum over the road is grat too but check for opening times. They have a fantastic library of car books, magazines, and manuals. The librarians are very helpful.
This museum is free to visit and contains an amazing collection of vehicles.
Just a great find! Could spend an entire day here if you do the guided tour. Free admission parking and tour. Who doesn't love free? I would do it again.
Wonderful place. Everyone should visit st least once.
Awesome to visit these cool cars from the past.
Excellent experience. Love all the history they have displayed.
Great collection - free admission

Great collection. I need to go on a day where the annex is open.
Awesome place to visit awesome car's.
Amazing site and sound. Cars and Music
Over the top fantastic! If you are into vintage automobiles that are authentically restored after extensive research, this is the place to go. Also, if you are into vintage music and the machines that play them, wow! Words cannot describe how amazing the autoplaying music machines are and the incredible sound that issues forth from them. You have to go in person to take in this incredible place. And it is all free!
My oldest girl loves cars and she loved this place
Beautiful collection, I've brought my whole family and everyone loves it. If you really want to see something cool, check out the collection across the street! It's amazing!
LOVED IT! Everything and everyone there was so nice, beautiful, pleasant and happy! The collection is even more impressive! Definitely a place to see. Everything is free. There are a diverse group of people of all ages. Simply a must see!
Super good auto museum.
Fantastic place.
Probably the best private collection of luxury cars in the country. Also mechanical musical instruments and other items. Once the Separate collection reopens later in 2019, and all can be seen again this museum and collection cannot be beat.
Always a great place
Old school low Rider cars aswell antique beutiful place to visit n its free
This museum should not be missed. Mechanical masterpieces you never thought existed. Cars, music and history from the past.
Went to see the auto museum and were able to include their doll, coin, and musical instrument collections. Very impressive, but you need to sign up ahead of time.
Incredible and it's free.
Absolutely free and such beautiful cars!
An amazing collection. Lots to see. The second building is by tour only and not open every day and currently under renovation.
We had been to the museum, across the street, but weren't able to make the tour. The tours are in the multistory collections building across the street from the museum. Came back specifically for the tour, and it was more than worth the drive. You can't buy this stuff. A lot of it is one of a kind. The Duesenberg Torpedo is a custom-built automobile. You can only see it here, and it is amazing. It's priceless in value. For us to see it? It's free! You can't get in it, but you can get so close to it that they ask gents to remove their belt buckles, rings, and watches. There are other automobiles that are almost as impressive. Not into cars? How about mechanical music boxes? Not the little ones. Some are as big as a living room wall, and sound amazing. The Imperial piano--97 keys, instead of the standard 88. It's big, and unique. The Mighty Wurlitzer theater organ--over 5,000 pipes, and able to reproduce all kinds of sound effects. This is not a sterile tour giving you the technical facts. Guide, curator and head of maintenance, Kyle, has an encyclopedic knowledge of the items, all kinds of weird and funny tidbits about the collection. Really worth experiencing. The building has elevators and is wheelchair and walker accessible. Stroller accessible, but not the best place for young children. There are excellent restrooms and water fountains. Free parking at the museum.
They had Christmas Songs here tonight! Played on the huge pipe organ-one of the biggest in the world!! My Mom would have loved it!!! It was incredible.....and free!! Love love loved it! I’m in the holiday spirit now!!!!
Great collection of very nice cars
Amazing automobile collection. Events are mesmerizing.
Wow amazing classic cars
If you appreciate Fine Cars and if ever in that part of California, great place to see
Absolutely awesome! A little overwhelming there is so much cool stuff to see. Not just cars!
As a car and music enthusiast, you just can't beat this museum for both their auto and music instrument collections in both their buildings. Don't miss their wonderful pipe organ, and their pullman train cars. The Pierce Arrow travel trailor is also not to be missed.
Such a sweet little museum, right under your nose! This collection is a well-coordinated, clean, and fun museum which can attract people who aren’t even huge fans of cars (like me!). They have pieces of history all around the place, including vintage furniture and facts all around the place! They also have a super neat tour across the street which I didn’t get to attend, but definitely planning on it! Admission is free, making it even greater. Don’t miss out!
A fantastic collection of old cars in a wonderful condition. There is a Pullman train too.
The most exquisite collection of automobiles I have see in ages. Loved the Packard PT Boat engine. Such amazing detail in the restoration of all the vehicles in the collection.
What an amazing , magical museum !
That was the second time I visited Nethercutt Museum but this time I got to take the Merle Norman guided tour. That private collection took my breath away. If you like classic old cars even a little bit and old music instruments you need to get blessed by this place. I lived it, Thanks to all the volunteers and staff that keep it up and so beautiful.
Amazing place and a hidden gem! The remodel made the acoustics great! I love going and seeing the cars as well as the concerts!
Wow. Wow. Wow. Can't stop talking about this place. Luxury, world winning car collection lovingly looked after. All original parts, all driven on California freeways to keep them healthy. Two buildings in Sylmar. One for the eye popping car collection and the other for the musical instruments and elegant entertaining space for the family's guests. Orchestras in cabinets that used to provide music in hotels and restaurants from the late 1800s to the 40s or so. One of a kind pieces that are conserved lovingly by this family and here to stay, free for the public. The mighty Wurlitzer organ with 5200 pipes throughout the walls and under the floor. Everything is run by air and paper music rolls. No electricity! And the man who takes care of these wonders and plays them is your tour guide. A very devoted and charming man whose life is these cars and musical wonders, and he loves and honors his position. Just looking at a modest sized cabinet I could see two violins playing themselves. A larger full orchestra beautiful wood cabinet can be opened to see drums actually drumming. It's fascinating and unbelievable. You cannot help but marvel at what was possible in the early 1900s for musical entertainment in dance halls and hotels. I may be wrong but I think it was the Merle Noman cosmetics line that made this all possible. Tours Thursday Friday and Saturday. You can wander around the building with most of the car collection on your own then cross the street to an odd looking 4 story museum and guided tour. This is where the circular Stairway to the Stars is. The Nethercutt family would entertain the Hollywood elite and politicians in a grand dining room which was transported from some castle in Europe. Endless mirrors in the elegant dining room that seats something like 24. Standing at either end will put you in the endless mirror reflection state. This place is one of a kind, always free to the public kept up and shown for the love of it. A short hop to the valley you will never forget, never regret. The Nethercutt Museum.
The finest automobile museum I've we're seen. Take the guided tour for the best of the best cars in a 1929 era showroom with marble floors and columns show casing the ultra luxury cars of that period.
Really good people who like the history will love it is like taking a walk through the past and they are in perfect condition
Hidden gem in sylmar. Has some of the rarest cars in the world among other antiques as well.
An awesome museum filled with super interesting exhibits! I highly recommend visiting!
FREE ADMISSION!! Tons of antique cars that give you a real nice taste of history. We only visited the small museum with the train but it was interesting nonetheless. They had a room playing historical clips and a bunch of other items along with the cars. Not crowded at all. We toured the train outside. Overall great experience!!
What a great visit. Had little idea what I was about to see. They have they done a great job at restoring vintage cars and more to origional working condition. Even the vintage furniture is there to sit in and experience. Well done and it is all free.
A must see collection of pristine cars of the 1920 and 1930 era.
Such a great collection! Take the tour across the street, it's worth it. The train is under reconstruction so you can't visit inside.
Fantastic collection of cars.
Visited there many years ago! Was a fabulous experience! We found it by accident when looking for the Redken plant! Well maintained and a great tour!
What a collection of cars and music boxes.
I loved it seeing all these cars they are beautiful I can imagine the money that has gone into this. WOW!!!!!!
Fantastic and free vintage car museum. Full or beautiful and beautifully restored cars from the early to mid 20th century, these gorgeous vehicles are well presented and hosted by a friendly and knowledgeable staff. A real pleasure. Note that admission to the "collection" building across the street (also free) requires advance reservations.
wonderful collection of beautiful classic cars!! Very well kept gallery!
On 07-12-19 my brother in law a life long resident of California and I visited the Nethercutt car Museum. This was my first time visit this outstanding display of exquisite automobile from all era's. If I was just rating the static display of the automobiles I would give it 10 stars undoubtedly. However, I could not truely post this comment without information the public of our experience with the Security officer at the Museum. The Security officer who refused to identify himself was extremely unprofessional to the visitors and myself, I witnessed him belittling the visitor infront of myself, other visitors and family members. After confronting visitors and accusing them of allegedly touching the displays, the visitors apologized for what the officer had assumed. The bullying officer reply was there is no excuse for your action, I should make you clean these exhibits, how would you like that. The visitors and myself were extremely surprised with the officers outragous displayed of unprofessionalism. My brother in law and I decided his demeanor was uncalled and concluded our visit. This was the first time in all of my visits to California, I had witnessed a public servant being so disrespectful and unprofessional in a public environment for visitors and family members.
Best kept secret in LA.
Beautiful and classy. The cars are amazing! If you are a car lover, piano, organ, or even a music box lover, then this is the place for you! Top it off with the classic look of the ball room (for the cars) and curved staircases, it's brings back the old Hollywood/historical feel. I love this place! Have been bringing back people so that this kind of venue can continue to be appreciated. Thank you for a wonderful time!
I wish I could give it 6 stars. Dozens of rare, beautifully restored vehicles, displayed in emaculate setting (designed like the old fashioned show rooms). But beyond that, the Canadian Pacific Royal Hudson locomotive and Pullman are perfectly restored as well, to the point you can walk into and through. Then there are other gems like the entire floor dedicated to extremely unique musical instruments, hood ornaments and more. Take the time to take the guided tour. It's awesome. Great hosts and docents. Even if you don't have time, the self guided tour is amazing. Oh and it's all free. 100% FREE. Can't say enough about this museum. Totally hidden in Sylmar of all places. Visit it!!!
What a great collection of beautiful retro cars from the 1030s! There are two parts - one building requires a reservation, and the other is open for free every day except Sunday. If you haven't been to this museum, I would highly recommend visiting it.
Amazing place. A must visit if your in the area. You can just show up but if you really want to have the full experience go online and get tickets. Which are free. Best place in la area.
It's beautiful, free, they offer a tour that is never TOO crowded (tour requires a reservation): cars, hood ornaments, dolls (sometimes [not THIS time]), mechanical musical instruments. Half the hood ornaments, more'n half of the cars, a train engine & Pullman car are across the street
The Nethercutt Museum and Collection is an incredible major collection of restored, maintained and working historic and antiques cars. There is Museum which displays cars, car related items and a library. There is also the Collection across the street which displays more cars in a grand ballroom setting and the musical collection upstairs. Many of the cars won Best in Show at numerous shows. And in case the cars aren't enough, the Collection includes amazing automated mechanical musical instruments (like player pianos) but not simply player pianos. There is a Wurlitzer theatre pipe organ, Orchestrions which basically provide music like an orchestra. There is also the restored 1937 Canadian-Pacific Royal Hudson #2839 locomotive and a restored Pullman Car which was originally commissioned in the early 1900s by Clara Baldwin Stocker as a private Pullman car.
Impressive collection of unique and beautiful autos and memorabilia.
Meticulously preserved old 4 wheeled beauties.
The most incredible car collection you will find. But forget the cars, the music room is mind blowing and should not be missed.
My husband went, I waited in the RV. He loved it, he was so excited about viewing the collection. He will be sharing his pictures with a friend today, also a car enthusiast
We found this by chance and it saved my son's 12th birthday! He was devistated that Magic Mountain was closed and was inconsolable (he is on the Autism Spectrum and had been dead set on the park) I was desperate looking for something else for him and randomly looked for car museums. After dragging him to the museum he was amazed and it turned into the best day of his life. We only saw the main museum, which is open every day, he is a huge car fan, and he was amazed at the collection. It was the first time he was able to see a Bugatti in person, as well as so many other amazing cars. Even if you aren't a car person, this collected is so impressive it would amaze anyone. We haven't had a chance to do the tour yet (my son also loves musical instruments) but plan on doing it soon.
If you like vintage cars and antique music boxes, this is the place for you. Excellent facilities, awesome exhibit pieces, and fantastic staff. Best part is, it is completely free. Must make a reservation to see the collection side of the facilities.
Beautiful collection of exotic cars and musical instruments. The staff are knowledgeable and wonderful guides.
One of the best automotive museums in the country !!....All cars restored in house and are driveable !...Add this museum to your bucket list today...........
Wow! This is an incredible find. Spent the whole day here and had the best time in years.
Great place to see cars and it's free
Amazing for car lovers!
Astounding collection which includes some far-lesser-known automobiles. These include both the Franklin and Dort. The museum is FREE and the docent friendly and knowledgeable. It is worth the visit!! Plus, there are a locomotive and Pullman car outside. Stunning car interior!
Incredible variety of vintage, historic cars. There is also an antique railway car. There are 2 buildings of beautifully restored cars. Best thing about this is the admission is free. It's a little out of the way but very worth it.
Great place to visit especially for gear heads.
Beautiful car collection, definitely worth a visit!
Nethercutt's is not to be missed whatever time of year it is, but the annual Christmas concerts are especially wonderful
My friends and I went to visit there and it was really an experience, I'm very fond of special vehicles and there you can see many of these vehicles. The place is very nice and special and the staff is very nice.
COOL vintage car museum with lots to see. Also, visiting this place is free! Definitely worth seeing if you're around the San Fernando Valley. The employees are enthusiastic to talk to you about the collection and they know their stuff.
Excellent museum to visit & great tour guide to keep you engaged...wow!
Great free car collection, tour & restored Pullman Car, to name a few things!
A huge collection of magnificent cars from the early 20 th century to 1950s. Particularly strong in Rolls Royce and classic American marques. The museum is free and open daily. But across the road is the Collection. Still free but booking required. This has 4 floors of cars ! An amazing experience!
Nice museum, free entrance.
I wasn't too thrilled at first about going to a museum about cars, but boy, was I surprised! This was a fantastic museum! The cars were gorgeous, the tour guide phenomenal, the hood ornaments (thousands!), and the musical instruments just fabulous! It's a free tour, but you need reservations. It's a HUGE collection owned by the owners of Mary Kay cosmetics. It's off tge beaten path, up in the valley, but well worth the trip!!
I got kicked out for wailing the siren on the old fire engine. I tried running and hiding in the train exhibit but at 6'4", blending into the crowd (of about 3 people) was not happening. That sheriff was no swinging Richard. I went up the block, changed my disguise, slipped back in and got kicked out again for the same thing. Was it worth it? It's free admission, so, yeah. They have an unrivaled Rolls Royce collection, and if you're sneaky enough you can get in some of the cars and take pictures. I came back later without a disguise, the sheriff didn't recognize me, turns out he's a pretty cool dude.
Great experience,highly educational and informative!
Nice car museum. Free admission. I highly recommend a visit.
Definitely a must go place if you are visitor or even local to southern California. Great car collections and the music box performance is something you definitely don't want to miss. And it's FREE!
So many cars. My dad, son and I spent almost 2 hours here on a Friday just strolling through admiring all the rare cars. It's a great museum hidden in the valley. I would pay some money to be able to visit but you don't have to since it's always FREE!! It's is really an amazing collection of rare and old cars.
Absolutely awsome car collection and other items like beautiful music boxes, and organs, unbelievable, must see it !!!
What an amazing car collection. This is a must see, these cars are pristine and all in working, driving condition. They have cars from car manufacturers I've never heard of before. This is really a special collection.
A great experience I would recommend to any classic car fan. Fantastic display of Royle Royce Phantoms
Pretty cool place to visist if you want to see something new in Sylmar. Its free too!
Outstanding exhibit of cars. Free admission too!
Great collection of autos and musical instruments
This is a vintage car fan's dream. Major collection of cars in running condition and beautifully maintained. Friendly and knowledgeable staff were happy to provide details and commentary. I got lost in the stories of each of the cars. You might also.
Incredible automobiles and the beautiful train! The people working there were also very personable and friendly. You have to see the 1930s Packard Cormorant hood ornaments that also doubled as the radio antennas!
Unbelievable. Cars ive never heard off. Impressive collection
5 Star +++! The museum is free, BUT RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. Beautifully and lovingly restored antique cars and elegant and intricate 'player' (like piano or wind-up) music boxes. You will see AND HEAR the third largest theatre pipe organ in the World. Guided tour lasts about two hours, but make lots more time to see aisles and aisles of restored cars in the other building. Then go see their restored train and feel transported back in time and see how the upper class traveled in style. Free parking.
Amazing!! Incredible! Do not pass up the chance to visit this unique collection!
Awesome place! Everything is fantastic. It takes one back to another time, a simpler more romantic period in American and world history.
Openning eye to see our ancester's invention, and applause to their dedication to conserve our fasinasting invention.
Outstanding collection of cars.. What an effort ..
One of my favorite places in LA
Interesting stuff to see. Worth a visit.
This museum is full of beautiful classic things to see. The museum curator is so knowledgeable and nice, everything is amazing.
Take the free tour (reservation required), then go across the street and have free access to car museum. An excellent outing.
This place is beautiful. The beautiful antiques amazing cars the stories of the amazing equipment that they have there
What a car collection. First Class. If you like large cars you will love the place. Cadillacs, Lincolns, Packard's, etc. Short on small.cars, MGs, Healys, Corvettes, Ferraris. The museum is emaculate. Makes the Peterson feel like a barn. There is a "private" show room across the street with reservations. The place is free with plenty of parking.
An absolutely wonderful hidden treasure in Sylmar. And it is 100% completely free, even parking.
Crazy museum i didnt know they had this here in the. Center of san fernando, if you like old School cars this is the place you cant go wrong alot of old cars and information. This was a 5 Star experience i would return another time maybe when they change out the inventory but for now its nice i would rec.

Spectacular collections of automobiles, musical instruments, antiques, etc
It has great cars and beautiful music boxes
Wonderful travel in time. Fantastic collection of realky old cars looking brand new.
Beautiful collection of vehicles sitting on an unfortunate carpet pattern. There's another collection across the street with a more sophisticated setting available by signing up for a tour. Both collections are free. Don't miss the locomotive and sleeper car exhibit in the back. They will open it up periodically for a walkthrough.
This place is out of this world and it's all free
Beautiful collection. You can't beat the free admission.
Great place. Three bldgs to go through. Car museum.
I just visited the Neskert Automobile Museum and I was shocked by this amazing collection of cars and music collections. We have had a wonderful time here and the tickets are free.
Extremely good displays and excellent tour guide. A real eye opener at no cost. You can learn about musical history and automobiles and technology history as applied to the arts all in one place.
This place is great! It's a free car museum but they accept donations. It's small but it has a lot of awesome cars to look at. They have another location across the street if you call ahead and make a reservation you can get a private tour on Saturday. In the back of the museum there is an old-school train that you can actually walk inside of. You can ring the bell, which is very fun for the kids. It will probably take you about thirty minutes to an hour to thoroughly explore the museum. Hope this helps.
Very interesting museum, nice that it's free! We did not visit when both museums were open, so only saw mostly early automotive sedans and limos, plus one Corvette. Cars are meticulously restored and maintained.
Very well done.
This museum experience is wonderful! My kudos to this organization & their work to make this EXTRA-special. (In a very good way) Unlike any other museum experience, with them presenting with a very personal touch.
Fun place to go. Even if you aren't into cars.
Lots of beautiful art , cars and even a train.
This is an incredible Auto Museum. Their Grand salon is like a 1930 auto dealers. Beautiful marble. Beautiful classic collectible cars. On the second floor, amazing organs and music boxes. This is a wonderful place to visit. I come here at least once or twice a year.
Take the time make the reservations and go to the main hall the cars you can go in anytime and wander through the collection great place for older people to reminisce and tell stories about people they knew that had some of these cars
This place is such a hidden gem. Once inside you will be mesmerized. You won't be able to see everything in one trip. Stunning, gorgeous, beautiful and elegant. Cannot say enough. This place has art, cars, instruments..... Just the most amazing things. Something for everyone. You have to check this out.
