You have all the reviews of people like you who buy the services and products of Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) (Museum) in California.
As of day the business receives a rating of 4.5 stars out of 5 and this score is based on 819 reviews.
You must have seen that the average of ratings that it reaches is virtually the highest, and it is based on a very large number of scores, so we can think that the evaluation is quite credible. If people have bothered to rate when they've done well with the service, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to place evaluations when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Museum is included in the category of Art museum.
The staff was so nice and helped us transition to each room so we could explore all of their exhibits and new acquisitions. They also took the time to find their free posters to give one to each member of our group before we left the gift shop.
I recently visited this museum during a conference field trip. They closed off the museum and we only had a chance to see part of it. A lot of great art displayed. We had a private lunch in their patio area. Lots of cactus and a stage where mariachi performed. I’d love to come back and check out the rest of the museum.
Great for a mid day break. I visited around 1pm and most of the other people I saw were staff, which made it wonderful to simply consume and digest the work on display. Only half of the galleries were open as they were changing out the current exhibit, but I was given a voucher for a free visit in the future which definitely made it feel I wasn't losing out.
We need more spaces like this. Not just for Latinx art, but for all underepresented/misrepresented peoples.
Cool art, nice place to bring your children and introduce them to art.
There is an interesting selection of art here. Different media, some interactive, some moving sculptures. Lots of very creative things. The price is also reasonable. $10 for general admission, cheaper for seniors and students, free on Sundays. The only thing I don't like is the lack of background information. I didn't understand a lot of the pieces and a plaque or audio recording or pamphlet explaining them would have been nice.
This museum puts on different exhibits every five months or so. Theyre really dedicated to representation, locality, and history which is inspiring. They also encourage local volunteers to help with major projects. I appreciate the hands and the minds who put this museum together. I lool forward to seeing other exhibits in the future.
The is a small museum with some really unique art you will see nowhere else
Great place, that represents the Latino community on Art and History.... Sunday’s free admission
It was cool.
Nice place to spend time with my kids.
Lovely place my family is always here
The employees are friendly and approachable. The art is always thought-provoking and unique. Go alone or in a group, you'll enjoy it either way.
My kids loved it. Plenty of arts and crafts. The art work is different. Very unique and interesting. Plenty of parking. Gated and safe. They also sell snacks and have a gift shop.
You must visit this museum! Not only are the exhibits exceptional, but the staff is helpful and knowledgeable as well!
Clean friendly staff great exhibits. And free admission on Sundays! Also within walking distance to some pretty great places to eat there in Long Beach, you can even ride a lime scooter or bike to a local restaurant and get there and no time and avoid the traffic!
A vibrant collection of Latin American art in nicely laid out space. Mixed media, bold and creative. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. And don't miss their gift shop - art from all over Latin America displayed lovingly.
Unique jem in long beach
Wow!!!! So much to say about how this museum GETS IT. Super representation of different art styles, big crazy sculpture, wild multi video art, expressive painting, but even more fun was seeing bands in the back garden and mingling in the artists faire where you can take meet artists and buy something to take home. The photobooth was especially fun with props and we all got to have a copy of our photo for the refrigerator at home.
Fortunately we paid half price to enter to see an exhibit that we could not tell was being set up or broken down. However, the documentary on Basquiat was worth all monies rendered.
Interesting collections. Very informative and friendly staff. The exhibits we saw on our visit included a lot of video work, a hands-on visitor-enhanced display which included golden "human bones" made out of chalk, which visitors were encouraged to go use to draw or write on an adjacent chalk board.
It is an average musium without a public Fi-Wi access. Every Sunday, the entrance fee is waived.
Great experience. Great exhibits.
Love this space soo much. In 2018 I saw some amazing exhibitions here including; INK Stories on Skin and Judith Hernandez A Dream is the Shadow of Something Real. This place is singular in its focus on Latin American artist, that usually get overlooked at other places. Large space, but the exhibitions are curated very well, so it doesn't feel like you're at a loss. They have talks and an interactive space to "do" art. The gift shop is small but I really enjoyed some of the things they sell. Love this place, parking is on site or on the street and Sundays are free. Definitely would recommend, if you have time for only one thing in Long Beach make it the MOLAA
Great place to go
Every time I go to the LA area I enjoy the cutting edge exhibits at MOLAA. In Sept., 2018+, this was literally true as one of their special shows was on LA tattoos. In addition to the naval connection to LA and international roots of this body art, various local artists' works were displayed. Also, one section had videos of various people selected who would receive tattoos on specified days during the exhibit. In addition works by two female Latino artists were shown. And do step outside in the walled in back courtyard where sculpture and cacti are displayed together. Currently, the outside café is closed for renovations. Free parking is available in the adjacent lot, and do stop into the museum shop that has gifts related to current exhibits. And enjoy free admission on Sundays thanks to Target.
Small but nice museum with cheap entrance
Amazing museum, truly world class. Probably the best Latino museum in the whole world.
The special collection was great! However, it's not a large place and other collections are limited.
Very nice, well organized and well presented museum. Good diversity of artists but I didn't find it to be very interesting. It's nice because we went on a free Sunday but I wouldn't spend money on it. But I think it's awesome they feature not very well known LATIN artists.
Well maintained display of Latin American art, welcoming staff and a delightful sculpture garden. Not too extensive but cozy.
The afrolatino festival was awesome!
Little cozy museum. When I visited there was a very interesting tattoo exhibit.
Fantastic museum, it is small but packed full of fascinating information and worth every cent.
Caught it on Free Sunday. Enjoyed the VW Crab. Very cool exhibits
Nice decor and slick to come! Shows are there and vibe feels great.
Loved it! Beautiful historic art!
Free on Sunday, interesting place
My favorite museum as its exhibits are always changing to include something new or old to bring forth a thought provoking narrative through art. Love it!
It's great. It always has impressive exhibitions. Free on Sundays.
A proud sponsor of #FMGM2018 DON'T MISS FRIDAY & SATURDAY Regional traditional women cooks preparing dishes never seen in the USA ...
Love it
An amazing museum that highlights the great Latino artists of all kinds. Really made me feel proud to be Latino
Visiting recently we encountered and exhibition of Latin American and Caribbean works focused on environment. There was also an interesting panel and discussion related to the exhibition. Top quality all around and I look forward to future visits.
I have been here for spectacular shows like the Frida Kahlo photography exhibit. Then I have returned with guests and was underwhelmed. I saw another show which was just OK. It is a small museum so I guess in between exhibits there is not much to see. I did enjoy their cactus garden and even rescued a broken piece of cactus off of the pavement which is now a proud addition to my garden! Glad to have this museum in the community, just make sure to confirm there is an exhibit or you will make a trip for nothing.
My three kiddos and I enjoyed the Afro-Latinx Festival. We learned about the engineering programs for kids the public libraries in Long Beach host. Engraving and workshops, face painting and live musical performances were some of the attractions we enjoyed at the Museum of Latin American Art. And I even signed up to volunteer at the museum on weekends. Established by the Robert Gumbiner Foundation, the MoLAA has promoted artists from throughout all corners of Central and South American countries including those in the Caribbean. They also just recently began embracing Chicano art as well. So, we'll give this institution of fine arts a fist bump!
Very good
Awesome. Sundays are free.
Loved it Thank you USC
I have been coming to this Museum for years since it opened. I strongly recommend visiting if your in the area and you enjoy art. A wonderful outdoor sculpture garden. They have outdoor concerts at times. They have current exhibitions and some core art holdings.
MOLAA is cool because works of various Latin American artists, some on the cutting edge, art exhibited. We enjoyed a good selection of photos of Frida Kahlo by Charles Muray and a South of the Border lunch in Cafe Viva. In addition to the 3 or 4 galleries there's an outdoor restaurant adjacent to a sculpture garden that was closed on the Target free Sunday of our visit. Ample free parking is provided in the lot next to the entry area that includes a well-stocked gift shop. You won't regret visiting this small, but interesting museum in Long Beach that we first discovered after a cruise from the port.
Small and not many paintings
Cool place. Lots of fun family events and good exhibits
The museum is big but not enough galleries. We came for the gastronomy fair and went into the museum for free. The place is spotless clean but we only got to see 2 galleries. I honestly expected to see like Chicano art, street art, or diferent people art. A little bit disappointed in my opinion.
Wonderful art work. Sponsors community events such as the Cultural Alliance. Sundays are free to Long Beach residents. Many Latino artists are responsible for such beautiful productions. Love for the community is exibited in contributions made to youth by offering a summer workshop and memberships to the museum are offered to the public.
Love that there's a museum representing the Hispanic community. Love the location and that there is plenty of parking... :)
Small exhibits but very interesting... Also the outside sculpture garden was nice
Interesting......the current exhibition is Gráfica América. There was some pretty cool stuff in there and other things that just made you ask WTH is that?! But hey its art right? Yea I don't know.....I found that timeline of printmaking and "Colonization" interesting. There was one room I really did enjoy it was by Cuban artists Osmeivy Ortega Pacheco, the techniques and materials he used were very cool how he was able to put everything together. I really liked Los Nidos de Plata. I wouldn't mind returning to see what other exhibits they have after this one is over, it would depend thought.
Fun at the Afro-Latinx Festival
Loved the tattoo exhibit. This place is definitely changing an taking shape a top institution in Long Beach. Wait to ser more
Loved it!
I enjoyed going there eccept the female staff in the exhibit was rude
Always great experience, interesting exhibits and events.
This is a long big beach just north of Huntington Beach. It offers a few miles of sandy beach and surf. Various food stands on the bike path and a very nice nature reserve across the highway. I recommend getting there early because it can fill up and it tends to get very windy there in the afternoon.
This Museum holds all sort of events that involves the Latino culture. The art is amazing, though the exhibits are rather small. The shop has a great collection of merchandise and they do a really go job of bringing the community together in their events.
If you think you know get a guide and learn , I had a first great date there. And you will too
Went for the first time ever and it was really really interesting!
Nice place. Unique features. I saw tattoo art exhibition
Always good to get a lil knowledge
Amazing art on rotation, featuring artists from all over Latin America (who knew?!). Target sponsors free admission in Sundays, so check-in at the front and enjoy. I recommend dropping at least a buck in the donation bucket, but no hate for those who can't. Do you, man. Enjoy the art!
Very good print show. Hope to come back next year. Took many lovely treasures home with me.
Do visit if you're in the area! Exhibits are thorough and intimately detailed. Good value. Near restaurants so you can plan an afternoon around the museum. Bring a jacket tho ❄️
It’s worth a trip...on a Sunday when it’s free. I would be upset if I spent money to see this place.
Great art set in a comfortable cool space
I'm giving this a two star due to the fact that the lady in the gift shop watched me like a hawk as if I was going to steal.
Great family activity, they've always got free, cultural events for the family to enjoy!
An amazing art museum of Latin American Art! I hope to come back again someday soon with my family and friends! Don't forget free access every Sundays!
The price is $10 or $7 if you're a student. Their exhibitions are amazingly detailed and thorough. There is plenty to see and a good way to pass the evening relaxing and learning. Great place to go with friends and they are open late. Currently they have an exhibition on ink!
It's free for military personnel. Loved the museum. Been here a few times already and on my recent trip to Long Beach, CA, came here twice. They have a little bit of everything here. On my recent visit, they had the Rembrandt special exhibit. Pretty popular packed with many many visitors. But their permanent exhibits include the American wing, European wing, Egypt and Asian exhibits. From art, to Victorian furniture, sculptures and modern art can be found all over here. It's a must visit if you're visiting Long Beach. Just take the Green line to the Arts Museum station.
Beautiful latin american art
I came here for my first time and I am just taken back by the art here. All the pieces and designs displayed here are just wonderful! The staff here at the museum are friendly and helpful people. I would recommend people to come to this museum and appreciate all the wonderful forms of art displayed here! They give a discount as well if you are a student.
A very interesting and beautiful museum, free Sundays are still going on.
This museum is awesome! Been here twice in the last few months, and it never disappoints. Cost of entry is beyond reasonable at $10. I highly recommend MOLAA.
Free entree on Sundays? Yes please! Fantastic works of art. The museum has more than enough parking. 10/10
It's a good collection. My only complaint was the lack of description given to many pieces. Especially the historical works, it's helps to have some level of context, when possible.
I went here for a field trip. I wanted to buy the concha backpack but didnt have money :( anyways I love this place
A nice museum for contemporary Latin American art. It's nice for a quick visit (1-2 hours)
Where was the Mexican art/artists/history/heritage?? I am glad it was free day today we went for a school project but there was not much to write about art was about attention current politics And main art was centered on LGBT No offense but very disappointing. 2002 Long Beach had a real Latin art exhibit small but more realistic why you go there Now it’s about someone’s agenda
Beautiful collection and nice gift shop!
Everytime I go on Sunday's I enjoy the art, although once in a while they change the art. But still very good.
I love walking the museum. Hope they get more works
Great museum/gallery. Its not huge, but we definitely enjoyed the exhibits and left with a few goodies from the gift shop. Highly recommended for those who visit art galleries.
Great " I learn America" workshop!!

I really enjoyed the collection. It is a great place to learn about Latin American and Angelino art.
Molaa has always been a wonderful museum . so many events and nice art. The two gentlemen in the front were amazing and helpful. I can't wait to start planning to attend more events. I love this place.
Last time I went there, they showed a
Beautiful and colorful exhibitions to enjoy on a Saturday with your family
Very informative. Everyone very nice and informative.
Oh here's another one I love this place Services great food was awesome is just like yes I would like cocktail yes I would like another cocktail cuz the food was so good anyways enjoy
The LA area has never let me down when it comes to museums, and this continues that trend. MOLAA is an inspirational and dynamic museum with art from influential Latin American artists, and thought-provoking free thinkers. The Tattoo exhibit "INKED" was one of the best I had seen in years, rivaling anything I've seen in LACMA. The story of how the Navy brought tattooing to Long Beach, and how that spread through out the local culture, and into the chicano arts, was not only eye-opening, but captivating with the art styles shown. There was also a heavy hitting exhibit on the 'dreamers' that will make even the most callous person give pause. I will plan on stopping by again next time I visit!
We very much enjoyed Museum of Latin American Art. It's good to see that the Museum has become a venue for Latin American Artists in the U.S., especially Mexican-American/Chicano artists from the area where the museum is located.
Interesting Latino perspective
Fun walk through with friends
Broken latch in the men's restroom means people can open the stall door while you are in there doing your business.
It was ok. I'm all for equality But the place was centered around LGBQT way too much. I was hoping to see more Latino centered art work.
A fantastic local museum who has some really unique exhibits. The history and art that they draw from locally really opened my eyes to what was around me in just my backyard. I was incredibly impressed by the exhibits they had and I am eager to plan another once another of their exhibits catches my eye.
We visited MOLAA for the Frida Kahlo exhibit last year. We managed to get a fabulous docent to lead our group of five. I don't think we would have gotten a tenth out of the exhibit if she hadn't been with us. By the end of the tour, Frida was our friend. This is a very small museum that should be visited from time to time. Nice little gift store. I bought a recommended book on Frida. There is also a restaurant on the premises. I had no complaints about the food but the service was very poor. There was a lot of getting up and asking for things that were forgotten. The name of the it is Viva.
Love it here, great art of Latino artists.
Not busy in the middle of the week. I wish the front desk would have told us about the sculpture garden in the back, instead of a security guard telling us about it...
Amazing and unique museum. It was really interesting and fun to wander round. The service was great as well. I would highly recommend going there!
I live going to MOLAA! They have so many fun events here and the diffrent shows really help this place stay fresh. You should go back here often.
Lot of great history about Latino culture
Inspiring and beautiful work everywhere.
Very nice building and wonderful staff. A moderate display of modern art. Free on Sunday
Best art shows and displays in LBC, very educational too.
Loved it! Did not actually go in the Museum, just visited the restroom and the gift shop and Tony was awesome love I your nick-nacks now you're freaking security he needs to check himself I'm sorry he kicked me off the property for no reason hey you know what was thank you, he must have been having a bad day just have him check himself.
Always love coming here! Sundays are free

Cool spot in the LBC!
enjoyed the exhibitions that were available!
Awesome exhibition. Great event. Amazing facilities. Outstanding staff
The current tattoo exhibit is especially incredible, with very personal stories, and moving representations of those stories being tattooed onto the people sharing their experiences. If you have the chance to check it out before it wraps, you absolutely should. The rest is also good. Incredibly reasonable ticket prices as well.
This is a very good museum covering a niche market - Latin American Art. It’s actually amazing this museum is in a city the size of Long Beach. A wealthy philanthropist in the health care industry funded the museum and started it by donating his own collection.
I really enjoyed my experience here. I came with my students, the process was simple, our docents were passionate, knowledgeable and communicated well with the students. So much interesting and beautiful art, worth coming back for.
Always has interesting art to look at... one of my favorite ways to start a visit to downtown Long Beach.
The reviews are accurate! The restaurant was clean and the staff was very professional and attentive. Our server, Luis Miguel, answered all our questions and was very genuine. The food was fantastic and the portions were large. A bonus was our server spoke English which helps since we don't speak Spanish.
Good to check into once in a while where art might come from Los Angeles to Buenos Aires
Beautiful building, beautiful art.
I was blown away by the amazing art they have here. Gift shop had reasonable prices, my kids loved it and we will be coming back
Very interesting and full of beautiful art work
The Afro-Latino Festival was great. I wish they had it more often
Small but interesting.
I went a Sunday and really enjoyed the Latin art based on the 90s Chicano life. However I noticed, there was no central American art, I think that would be great to add into the museum. This museum kinda takes me back to college days for the MECHA student group which was mainly based on Mexican American history. No central Americans? Anyway, Latin America is huge, I'd love to see art from around Latin America.
Simply beautiful artwork with great, friendly staff.
Small but well curated. Pay attention to the exhibit at the time to see if you're interested.
Enjoy the exhibits and events
Worst service ever super rude, couldn’t even take a picture outside of the wall because security said no photo shoots allowed, it was just a simple picture we wanted to take outside not a whole runway shoot being thrown
Great place to visit, so many great art on display, the gift shop is amazing and on Sunday "target sundays" it is free! No entry fee to the museum for all who visit!

Nice smaller museum...I spent 1-1,5 hours very interesting exhibit at the time -Horizons The last 3 art galleries I visited the artist addressed #plastic #trash # sustainability: good for awareness --need #action. Another aspect of the exhibit was emotions of people's plight in life. One was #heartbreaking letters from inmates to authorities asking for a trial...mist had been waiting years. #textile art #photography #video
Many great events hosted. A lot to see and enjoy even if you're not a member. Friendly staff.
Such a lovely museum! I had never been before. Went to see 2 specific temporary exhibitions that were very well curated. Reasonable entry fee. Helpful staff. My only complaint is some of the art descriptions were oddly placed; requiring 1 to bend to the floor to read.
It is a great museum! Not too big, but they switch up galleries often and highlight different artists and themes.
Came here back in 2015. I fell in love with this place. I truly feels like home. Rich art and history.
A little pricey for a limited amount of things to see, but if you're in the area and are looking for something cool to see, check it out.
Loved it. I wanted to see more and know more
Just couple art pictures disappointed
Visited on a Sunday, so it was free. However, the people at the front desk had poor customer service. Also, I wish we had a tour guide to give us more info about the art/museum.
Great exhibits, friendly staff, fun way to spend an afternoon

Great exhibit of Tomas Ocha's work using black and white photos with gunpowder
Unusual art
We liked this museum a lot. The entrance was for free on Sunday, and we had a chance to enjoy several great exhibitions. All artists works are well explained, there are also screens with video for more information. The light set up is very good and shows the artworks in a very clear way. Parking is free, and spacious. Sculpture garden didn't impress us though.
Fascinating exhibit. Friendly staff.
Went to this museum for the first time, for the Dia De Los Muertos festival (very family friendly). The museum is very clean and has a good variety of art on display. The staff is friendly and the giftshop had some very unique things for available for purchase.
Contemporary Latin American World Class art exhibitions, beautiful garden, free parking lot.
Great exhibition.
