As you can see it has an average rating is basically the top, and it's founded on a very large number of opinions, so we may say that the valuation is very credible. If people have bothered to evaluate when they are pleased, it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to set evaluations when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Museum belongs to the category of Heritage museum.
I love old historic homes. I took my kids and I thought they would be bored but they were amazed at the elaborate architectural details on the outside of the homes. Then we went inside each of the homes and we really appreciated every intricate detail of beauty that was before us. The nostalgia was ever so present. They sure don't make 'em like they used to :(
I love this place so much, I considered having my wedding here! I'm so glad the homes here were preserved. Getting to go inside of them was a really neat experience.
Such great history saved and restored. The houses are historic gems and I'm so glad they're saved from demolition. The docent we had was super knowledgeable and engaging. She told our group how people in the Victorian area lived and how much they valued privacy with separate rooms up greet guests. A must do for any history buff or visitor to LA who wants to see what life was like here in the past.
Step back in time and see some fabulous houses. Get the feel of the mid 1800's thru 1920 housing.
Cute place to visit! Hidden gem of a little Victorian neighborhood.
Beautiful Houses, I wish the have more. Too bad that photos are not allowed inside the houses, but worth the visit
I used to volunteer at to maintain the garden. It was a lot of fun. A wonderful place if you love architecture and history. Driving there is a pain since there isn't a lot of parking. There are a few bus lines the gold line nearby.
Vintage houses. Movie nights. Food trucks. A bit pricey for entry. Parking isn't good and the walk to the screening area is really dark
Beautiful.
Great history and it's a great. Cause to what they are doing
A small, quirky living museum that's the site of several Victorian era homes and structures that offer a glimpse into what life was like during Los Angeles' early years. The buildings here are very well preserved. This museum often hosts a range of events throughout the year. My husband and I were able to attend a car show at the museum one year which was a lot of fun!
I was there for the Christmas movie showing...it was a great time..
Cool
Oh oh
(Translated by Google) Museum, with houses and things from the 80s It is very pretty (Original) Museo, con casas y cosas de los años '80 Esta muy bonito
Interesting place. Lots of victorian era homes from various parts of LA were moved here to preserve history. Make sure to come at round hour to be able to see inside of the homes, because only guided tours are allowed inside homes. Open on weekends only.
Glad I came. It was a treat to be here in autumn. Great location and very educational. There’s a movie Night coming up for Halloween.

A great place to hold a an event. I attented a charaible event there... everybody enjoyed the experience,
Cause is near the train
Amazing museum! A must spot to visit if you interested in history of LA, especially Victorian history. Get a tour to visit homes inside, it is something really stunning to see all these victorian homes inside. Thanks to our guide!
Nice place
Had an awesome time! Thank you, Lucien!
Was disappointed in the featured display.
Loved the tour and buildings! I wish we could have taken pictures in the houses and gone to the second floors. The tour is more about the restoration process and history of the items in the house rather than the history of the Victorian era.
This place is a treasure.
Worthwhile tome. Must see
Classic California museum at its best
The place looks nice, but the service was below average. There was no restroom with water. Watch out for your dress in a mobile toilet. The rental price and food price were above average.
Great preservation of early Los Angeles history.
Fantastic historical property! The docents and volunteers are kind. We attended the tea & fashion show benefit and it was spectacular!
There's a rich history of Los Angeles which often gets ignored or forgotten. But sites like this one, is a precious gemstones that reminds locals or visitors that there's much to be explored. Some of these houses date nearly a century and a half ago, they remain one of the earliest examples or a brief reminder of some of the lifestyles that these residents had in Southern California. Pay this site a visit, it doesn't matter if you're a history lover or a person with a curious mind. A place for the young and old alike, could gain something valuable.
Fantastic gem with a great deal of history. Definitely worth a visit.
If you're a history buff go here. The tours are on the hour and you can see what it was like in the Victorian era. Takes a couple hours but worth every minute.
Go, take the tour on a cool day. Guides are hit-and-miss, they're all volunteers, some are well informed and interesting. The museum is doing important work, go and check it out. NOT a great place for little kids. They get bored and there's lots to NOT TOUCH!!!
So much history and hidden i always wonder what these houses where its amazing
Great view back into the history of the area. Tips to make your visit even better: Check the times for the tours and plan your visit to take a tour. The tour adds so much to the visit. Parking can be tight and the tours fill up so go on an week day if you can.
I visited the Heritage Square museum for the first time when I attended the 13th Annual Vintage Fashion Show. Right off the 110 freeway, it's not a large park, but I found the site interesting, especially the Victorian drugstore display. Fashion show was fun and costumes were wonderful. The event was $30 including light refreshments and admission. Regular admission to the museum/park is $20 and a bit pricey, but it's a small non profit. Good venue to visit for Victorian era buffs and local California history.
I have been here during free Museum Days and it seemed full of life and very open. This time, we were told that the buildings could only be see on a tour and we didn't have much time to do the tour. Admission was still 10, $50 for our group, even though we saw none of the houses and we're greeted by a very grouchy lady at the main entrance. We did get into the Pharmacy we're a very helpful docent was present.
Amazing historic place! Great tour guides with a lot of fantastic facts.
Its a cool place to get a piece of history. And especially love of mind.everybady is frieny especially the community.
Beautiful place, can't wait to come back!
Great place to see Victorian Homes, check the website for hours of operation.
Está bien me gusta me encanta la verdad sistema
Loved the drug store

Our tour guide Mary was great and was very informative and friendly. Nice to see some history preserved. Beautiful old homes and I loved the garden.
Lots of great Victorian houses. Closes at 4p. They offer tours. Close to the lummis house. THIS PLACE ISN'T AN IDEAL WALK FROM THE GOLD LINE.
Old school houses rock
I brought my daughter (6year old) for the tour and we both loved it! we couldn't get enough of these beautiful houses. On the tour we go through 8 houses so it's a lot of walking my daughter and I were both really thirsty. I was surprised they didn't offer any snacks or beverages. I think that's the only thing missing for me to give this place a 5star
Love the beautiful houses!
Good place for learning the heritage of LA.
There for a movie screening. Be nice to visit the houses in holiday season.
This is such a lovely place to come to. Besides looking at all the beautiful houses, there is other little activities around the grounds! However, you should be aware that parking is limited so either be aware of a long walk to the museum or get there early to get a good spot.
I was able to go on a Alhambra bus tour of the Heritage Square buildings & even though it rained, it was very interesting.
Really nice staff. Great history with the houses glad that they have been preserved. Great until sunset when the bugs swarm.
If you like history and architecture, this hidden gem is the place to go!!! The homes have been well-maintained, down to small details. Docents are knowlegible and very well-spoken. The grounds are great for taking pictures, as well. This is very interesting way to spend an afternoon.
When for the Love Actually outdoor screening. Set up was nice staff was friendly
If you want take a gander to the past...Heritage Square provides homes preserved from early years of Los Angeles. Highland Park has highest density of historical landmarks anywhere in Los Angeles and probably County. Out 3,000 or so units...50 or so are slated Historical Landmarks. These homes take you back to Queen Anne Victorian, Tutor, Mission, and Craftman. Primarily a nice place to visit, get some historical significance.
Interesting to see the homes from the 19th century Los Angeles.
Nice exhibit
Walking into Los Angeles' past.
What a true gem tucked away in Los Angeles. I stumbled upon this place after living in LA for decades! What a shame more people don't know about it. So much history! One of the only round houses left. They have so many offers for donated historic houses but no money to move them. Parking is easy in their dedicated lot. Their rates are great to get to visit a hidden tourist attraction that locals & tourists alike can appreciate. Highly recommend!
A piece of LA history. The tour was great.
Epic
Very unique and creepy at night
Safe
Must see!
A place to catch the Gold Line in-between Highland Park, Lincoln Hts & Cypress Park. Metro's Lost & Found is across the street from where the Metro Rail lets it's passengers on & off. Excellent security provided by LA Sheriff's Dept.
Good place to learn about some of California's history. Guided tours are informative
What a wonderful find. An LA treasure.
Amazing place and excellent docentes!
Fabulous houses, sight to see at least once. Especially if you live in LA ...No excuses.
A truly hidden gem...
Pretty cool
It was great our tour guide was very knowledgeable. The grounds are well-kept and I saw several different styles of homes.
I wish I was back in the days to have a dream house I love it so beautiful that is a the green Victorian house!!
Fantastic history; great docent; fantastic restoration of homes
Definitely enjoy the establishment and experience a good learning tickets here. Was recommend by classmates Acquaintance for this as ive always wanting to pickup more info about this era. This heritage museum is a good window into this particular time era.
Another great find on goggle maps. I was searching for new museums and this one caught my eye. Entrance fee is 10 dollars and you get a nice tour of the beautiful homes. There's also an old style pharmacy at the end which has many antique pharmasuticals that were used in the old days. Great place to visit for architecture buffs or those interested in old buildings.
Wonderful place. Great history facts and the tutor guide or museum speaker was super friendly and knowledgeable.
They've moved some old houses and other structures here to preserve some if the older architecture of the Los Angeles area. It is a good place to visit if you like historical structures dating from the 19th century.
Nice
It's the Indians who live in spirit
Dedicated volunteers, beautiful venue, beautiful houses.
Heritage Square Museum is a living history and open-air architecture museum located beside the Arroyo Seco Parkway in the Montecito Heights neighborhood of LA. The museum focuses on interpreting the years 1850 to 1950, a century of unprecedented growth in Los Angeles. I visited on a Saturday and took the 2 hr guided tour. Admission is free but the tour cost $10 bucks. Grounds are self guided but inside the houses are not. I love the Victorian style architectural houses. Each of the houses were rich in history. My favorite was W.Hayes Perry and Hale's house because of their unique interior design and layout. Our tour guide was very knowledgable and friendly. Parking is very small and limited. However, residential street parking available. Overall, I enjoyed visiting HSM and I highly recommend you visit at least once.
Lots of nice things to see
Quite interesting
It's a great effort to preserve all these buildings and antiques.
Very nice and lots of space
The Christmas tour was interesting as well as entertaining. Well done.
A friend birthday party in the area;sorry
Awesome
Full disclosure, I volunteer there. But the reason I do is because I love history, Victorian buildings, and Victorian furniture. Visiting the museum for the first time I decided to keep coming back and hopefully make wonderful experiences for new guests.
C U L T U R E
Good historical experience
Beautiful place
Relax with ancient people's life
Great place to check out
Really neat, tour was okay, buildings were beautiful.
Blessed good faith family our son's
Great historic homes from all over the LA area moved into one amazing location.
Un sitio histórico, el acceso por el freeway es muy peligroso. Por la calle Figueroa es difícil de encontrar.
This is a cool little village that feels like a throwback to Victorian times. Worth a visit!
In the middle of skyscrapers in the Los Angeles skyline and a modern neighborhood community lies this historic place of Victorian homes and lifestyle. It is a testament to the past, and a reminder of the simplicity of the 1800s and the many modern conveniences sometimes we take for granted. It is a also a history lesson and realization that at one time, metropolitan Los Angeles we experience now was the wild west. It is a must to experience. The staff is quite knowledgeable about the elements in the homes, and each one (except in the gift shop), is dressed in the fashion of the time. Travel back in time. An experience you won't forget.
A nice living history museum with 9 historic buildings and an impressive little orchard that allows you to take a look at the life of the upper middle class at the close of the 19th Century. The picturesque Hale House is a gas/electric hybrid meaning they had the gas lighting fixtures right next to the electrical ones for when the latter was failing. The 8 sides of Octagon House with its windows on all sides and the "3rd floor" provide optimal air circulation and natural lighting, minimizing heating and cooling expenses while making the most of the floorplan. The Ford House features extensive wood carvings done by hand by the prolific wood carver and home owner John J. Ford. Then there is the Colonial Drug Store displaying the original pharmaceutical and botanical raw materials in the original containers (over 80000 items) with the soda fountain where you'd meet and socialize while waiting for your drug to be handmade for you.
After living in LA for 25 years, I finally made it to Heritage Square. A remarkable set of 19th century homes and other buildings. The Colonial Pharmacy is simply astounding. My only reservation during the tour of the homes was the guide's excessive emphasis on the presence of ghosts and paranormal activity. Not everyone accepts these non-empirical causes and it detracted from what otherwise is a very informative tour. Stick with the presentation of historic facts that enlighten us of a lost elegance, and delete all the after-life mumbo jumbo.
Wonderful!
a must to come very friendly tour guide amazingly beautiful
Love visiting here! You must love old houses. The interiors are lovely. They also have fashion shows, teas, day of mourning celebrations, and plays at Christmas time.....much more. You can have a wedding there if you like. Lots to do there all year long. Check it out. Its a nice little day trip, spending a couple of hours there freeing you up to check out more areas of los Angeles.
Great historical site
I absolutely loved the Heritage Museum! I shot a wedding there and the location was just stunning. Love the vintage flair and everyone was extremely nice and accommodating. Can't recommend this place highly enough!
Just seen it from outside the gate but can't wait to take my family there
Highly recommend going and taking a tour. Fun for the whole family.
Amazing museum (collection) of historic homes and buildings from around Los Angeles. Definitely worth seeing.
Loving it
Heritage Square Museum is such a beautiful place because they really keep true to the way it was back in the day. On the Arroyo Days festival they reenacted all of the entire Square. People were dressed in. Costumes and doing. Things. Children were everywhere they were being taught how they did things back in the day. The architecture and the information in the knowledge that was shared on these free Arroyo days was magnificent! I am so honored and grateful that they preserved and keep preserving these beautiful places to share with others so that you can see where we came from. They just installed a new Pharmacy with all original Pharmacy and medical instruments as well as old medicines that they used to give to people. Arsenic and the weirdest things that they would prescribe the people that now we know actually kill people were things that were prescribed from the pharmaceutical companies. It's really interesting how nothing has really changed from the pharmaceutical companies, except that now the amount of people that they kill are thousands of percent more in this current day Society. It's amazing how Reliant and ignorant humans are in regards to their own health and healing.
Wonderful tour of old LA
This museum was a surprise, what they do to preserve old buildings that help you to understand how los angelinos lived in the past is incredible. You can only visit the buildings with guided tours, and they need founding to keep doing what they are doing so well, so go, enjoy and help!
(Translated by Google) It is very beautiful and historical. (Original) Es muy bonito e historico.
Good
A beautiful day and docent-led tour
Really cool old houses! The tour was great.
Fabulous slice of LA history.
I was impressed by the beauty of the original Victorian houses, as well as by all the details inside of them. You really see a piece of history here. Our guide Katherine was great. Very knowledgeable, entertaining and passionate about the living and culture of our ancestors. We spend 2,5h there and it totally exceeded our expectations. If you are curious about our past, don't hesitate to visit this place!
This is a must if you like history of Los angeles
Had a good time
The eight historic structures located at the museum, constructed during the Victorian Era, were saved from demolition and serve as a perfect background to educate the public about the everyday lives of Southern Californians from the close of the 19th Century into the early decades of the 20th Century.
It was a interesting place

Wish you could spend more time inside the houses.
This museum is a very small nonprofit, but they have an amazing volunteer staff to supplement the mission. Many dozens of people come together over the course of a year to support events such as Holiday Lamplight (the biggest draw of the year), as well as regular weekend tours. Always worth the visit.
A cool place to relax and see the building and take picture
A to be continue experience
This is the most beautiful walk back into history of LA
I like it you would love it
Architecture and history.
Nice if you a senior
Loved it
Fun place for a wedding.
Great display of historic houses, but parking is a pain on weekends. Knowledgeable and friendly guides! Don't park in lot if possible.
The museum is a collection of buildings save from destruction and moved to the museum. Visit on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and holiday Mondays to take a deep dive into Los Angeles history and the Victorian era.
Great

Los Angeleno's best place to see what their home town looked like way back when.
The collection of antique buildings that were moved to this location are fascinating and there are chickens too!
Was in a wedding here. Very nice place.
