Here we offer you all the information of people who use the services of Grammy Museum L.A. Live (Museum) near California.
Nowadays the business receives a score of 4.4 stars over 5 and the score has been calculated on 1244 reviews.
You may have noticed that the average of ratings is positive, and it is based on a high number of feddbacks, so we can conclude that the evaluation is very accurate. If many people have bothered to give their feddback when they've done well with the business, it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to write evaluations when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Museum is included in the category of Museum.
Awesome experience every month they dedicated entire second floor to a artist, whe I got there was Dolly Parton expo.
Expected to see more there. Liked the intimate rooms with topics such as song writing, producing, etc. and the interactive stage in which you could perform.
Mildly entertaining if you have nothing else to do
Went for a show in the very intimate 200 person capacity Clive Davis Theater, and it was amazing!! If you are lucky enough to ever grab tickets for an interview with an artist/band, you will love it. The sound is great, it's very small so anywhere you sit, is a good view.
Its a small museum. Clean and with great displays. Wanna learn about music, grammys and recording history? This place is perfect. It consists of 4 stories 3 filled with displays and interactive things.
The place is ok, not too much to see.
Fun 60-90 minutes. Small AAA discount, no parking validation. Well layed out and fun.
I spent hours inside. There is a lot to interact with and much to learn. Could be cheesy but is, instead, inspiring. Only problem was that there was an installation in process on an entire floor. It gave me a little fomo.
Enjoyed being able to walk the history of music.
Outstanding museum with great collection of famous musician who won in the pass in the Grammy. The story of music & music artist it's very well represented. They still in a process add-on items but hopefully will see more in the future, well done I really enjoyed the Grammy's museums.
This was such a great experience. The location is such a dream. It's so beautiful and full of amazing places to visit. The museum was so amazing. You can buy stuff at the gift shop for great prices and they even have a touchable exhibit, which by the way is amazing.
So much music history. Loved it
Went to see the get animated invasion. It was a small portion of the museum but it was still cool to see all the artists and the clothes they used to wear on display and the history of music! Very informative.
This museum was fun and gimmicky, but lots of stuff was broken. The soundbooth exhibit didn't work and the photos in the backstreet boys exhibit was down. Staff seemed very nonchalant, but the cleaning lady was SUPER nice. Lots of cool artifacts and if you care about music, this is a fun place to visit. FREE admission with a Los Angeles public library card (look online).
Good museum with some major glitches. Be prepared to spend a while to get the most out of it, much of the time wearing headphones, which can be problematic for some people, but unavoidable here. It's well designed for the most part, but there's some glaring errors and horrible maintenance issues. The music reproduction doesn't sound very good in most of the installations, and it's downright painful in some of the most important places. The biggest screen in the place showed a Grammy broadcasts' greatest hits compilation which was hard to hear above Dolly the day we went, but most importantly, it was out of sync. Some artists suffered more than others, but it was unpleasant to watch some of the greatest performances of the last century being treated like that. Another, even more elaborate display on the 4th floor, which also featured highlights of the broadcasts' history, showing on 6 screens around the space, had horrendous constant audio dropout that made that room even more painful. These are rare clips that any music fan would love to enjoy, but which are so badly marred that I would say turning it off until it was fixed would be a better way to serve the artists and their fans. The overall balance of all sound has got to be extremely hard and they do a decent job with a few exceptions, especially the gospel influences video, which was almost inaudible. There's an interactive piece about music through the decades with poor graphics which I and my friends all thought was broken, but a guard felt sympathy for one of us, and told him there was a metal ring which needed to be manipulated to make it work, I found out later.
Small museum. I was unimpressed
Only visited one floor because I was invited to a private event. I could’ve spent several hours touring this place, so much history and a fun atmosphere! Took a few pictures to entice you...
It's a great and fun museum to visit (especially for music lovers) and to learn about history of music and the Grammys. Many interactive exhibitions and historical artifacts from some of the greatest and most recognized artists of all genres. From time to time they change some of the exhibitions. Pricing is OK, and they have a variety of discounts. It is near Staples Center and Microsoft Theater, the area has nice restaurants and places to visit.
Not bad. Would love a guided experience; not sure if that's available. $15 admission is a little high for the size compared to most other LA area museums, but it's def an affordable fee. Could have watched the Grammy show performances for hours.
If you love music history, this is the place to go. You can easily spend 3 hours there. Bring a light jacket they like to keep the music fresh... brrr ☃️❄☃️ Not much of a gift shop, that was disappointing, but there are plenty of shops and restaurants close by after your visit. Wear comfortable shoes
Absolutely amazing! Has so much history and includes the Backstreet Boys experience until September 2nd.
This is a great museum for music lovers. It takes about 2-3 hours if you take your time. There are plenty of videos, interactive exhibits, and memorabilia. The museum cover the beginning of music and the Grammys to now. They have special exhibits that change. The cost is $15 for adults which is well worth the quality. Some of the headphones you use to listen to exhibits don't work.
Very enjoyable and no entrance fee and reasonable parking because we found street parking. Love this place
I'd you love music then you should stop by here. Not a huge museum but enough to keep you busy for an hour or two.
I went here a few years back as a tourist and enjoyed this museum. We walked up from our hotel and spent the afternoon roaming around. I don’t remember it being very busy and it was fun seeing all the costumes (I love performance attire, I think it’s so cool). I was a nice little music history lesson.
I loved this museum, you can interact with instruments, learn about music milestones
This museum is really great and has a lot of unique and famous pieces to look and learn from. It's 4 stories tall with a different theme on each floor. Over half of the museum focuses on user interactions and is extremely hands on. I had so much fun here with my family and pretending to learn how to play some instruments.
Went there to see the Backstreet Boys Exhibit and it was great. Staff was really friendly and enjoyed the museum!
Loved it. From a music lovers perspective, it is a good time.
Really enjoyed the museum. If they would to do more advertising or letting tourists know they would there, I think it would have more visits. You interesting permanent exhibits and some rotating ones (it was Cheech & Chong when we visited) make it fun to wander around. Some of the interactive exhibits we're not working the day we were there. I'm a music junkie and loved the place.
i walked out asking myself "is that it?" i'm glad i didn't pay for this experience as i came on a 'free museum day' there is cool memorabilia and things to see but it just didn't seem like it was enough for me. i hope they are able to add more pieces as there is so much more music history they can touch on in my opinion
For ME, this was a massive let down. The exhibits on display left much to be desired. I had heard how cool the Michael Jackson display was along with some other artists but most of the stuff that they had in there from artists was just 'so-so'. I was surprised by the lack of content from some of the GREATS that you would expect to see in the Grammy Museum. I'm only giving it two stars because I had such high expectations going into it and it was not at all what I was told to expect. Maybe that is my fault. I just didn't feel like it was worth the money. For me, it was just very lacking in content. But again, that might just be me. My parents both felt let down as well though so I'm not sure. The Johnny Cash exhibit was really cool.
Great museum if you love music...and the music of baseball exhibit is really good
It was not so educational and 3rd floor was under construction. Their tickets are not so cheap but if you like looking at celebrities clothings and instruments, you might enjoy it
I LOVE THE GRAMMY MUSEUM! It's one of my favorite places in LA. I am a music lover
If your a music fan, this is an enjoyable way to spend some time. They try to cover a bit of every era and there are some fun interactive displays.
Worth a visit. Lots of interactive things to do.
Nice little museum in DTLA.
Lots of fun for all ages but a few of the interactive displays were not working properly.
Full disclosure: I work here. Changes are happening and great things are coming. Great place to learn about music and musicians and has what i believe is the coolest, most intimate theater in LA to see live music.
This is an outstanding venue for music history, education and performance. The auditorium is small and intimate, and the programming is always entertaining. The curated displays are always interesting and informative. Surrounded by great restaurants and other worthwhile activities
Enjoyable and worth the money and time if you are going near there but not outstanding.
Nice place if you love music! Went on a field trip and it was interactive enough for them. Only thing is there is not a good place to eat on a school field trip for a lot of kids.
The Grammy Museum L.A. LIVE has some cool popular music relics and studio music experiences for visitors. It’s like the Grammy Museum in Nashville but a tad smaller. Level 2 was closed so only got to see two floors of memorabilia. Would’ve liked to purchased a basic Grammy Awards Museum men’s shirt but all that was left was XXL shirts:(
Justin Hayward performed in this wonderful small venue.
Clive Davis Theater is an amazing place to see a show if you can get in.
It was a great Experience for me to be a part of the Grammy Museum it was an Awesome experience.
History of GRAMMY'S. You can see the each version of actual awards at the entrance. Artifacts from your favorites. Including Michael Jackson. You can listen Grammy Winning songs. Watch the ceremonies from the past. Enjoy sparkling atmosphere with background music. They explain each type of music with samples like a music encyclopedia.
They haven't kept the museum in great shape. Most of the interactive features don't work. Not really worth the price.
Great location for our company offsite function. Kudos the the Grammy Museum staff
Interesting museum, either regarding the music history, and the importance of the ceremony in the music industry.
IS THAT IT? On the day I visited the 3rd floor was closed for renovations. Upon entry the fee was reduced from $15 to $12 as a result. Was directed to go to Level 4 and work my way down. Level 4 was good, it had the kind of exhibits I had come to see; photos, memorabilia and videos. Level 2 was just a collection of photographs of music stars listing a few of their favourite songs. It was interesting but when I then went to Level 1, which was the entry floor plus shop I couldn't help but ask: is that it? The staff were not very friendly either hence the fairly low rating I'm giving it.
Easy to walk thru, clean restrooms, places to sit.
This was a great experience!! Loved all of the Backstreet Boys Experience!! Definitely come check this out if you are a music and history enthusiast. It's great for everyone
I was here about a year ago and I went to go see Jack Johnson. If you can score tickets to a performance, go for it. Pretty intimate. If you get there on time you can score seats right in the front. (This is a seating venue.) I have only been there for that. I did not do the museum however from what I was able to see while waiting, it was pretty good.
I finally made it and just in time before the Dolly Parton exhibit closed. 3 floors of music history any music lover could appreciate. Interactive & fun.
It's in LA live so when you get bored there's a few nice bars near by
The second floor was closed but because of that the admission fee was reduced to $12. There were still great exhibits on the third and fourth floors that music lovers will appreciate.
Wonder full 4 story music museum.Love that place.Very informative.I learn something new every time I go.Interesting.
Wonder full 4 story music museum. All types of music, interaction with recording and using equipment. Have been there twice. Not expensive to get into. Can spend a full afternoon of enjoyed music.
I loved learning the history of different music genres and the artists that helped pioneer new sounds. It was definitely worth going to, if you're a music connoisseur, but even if you're not, you'd enjoy it as well.
Being in the music business, it's great to be able to visit the Grammy Museum in downtown LA. It was my first time there and I visited it along with many other industry colleagues. What a treat it was to be able to relive the story of modern music history, as told by the Grammy Foundation. Many of the exhibits on the 4 levels of the museum are interactive, making it a great place to bring your kids. In our case, we act like kids when together, so it was perfect for us too. When in LA, visit the Grammy museum, it's worth the visit.
Interesting exhibit, many interactive features, good size, spent about 1.5 hours there.
Visiting the Grammy Museum was an experience. It's full of amazing collections of Grammy memorabilia. Love the exhibits, interactive displays and the amazing collections of artist performance costumes. A also loved the behind the scene process to put together a successful show.
It was a great place to learn about all the Grammys. I is fun for children and adults. It shows you how the Grammys started how the actual grammy award got wider and bigger. They also have like instruments you can play but the sound comes out of earphones. They also have little soundproof room you can go into. In totally this place is a very unique place were you can go to learn new stuff.
I really didn't know if I would enjoy this. I came here for the free museum day but I found that it would be worth general admission. Seeing iconic pieces of musical history from Ray Charles, Michael Jackson, Johnny Cash, Beyoncé, and Kris Kristofferson was so awesome. Whether you have bad feelings about a Michael Jackson or not, I feel that this was the best part of the museum. How could you not want to see the cost from Thriller or his iconic gloves. I really did love taking a trip through musical history in downtown LA!
Myself and some of my friends are big music fans. It was awesome be able to visit the Grammy Museum which housed a lot of history. My favorite part of the museum was the So So Def Records 25th Anniversary Exhibit. It was really great to see African-American artist being honored. I forgot how much So So Def contributed to the culture. I recommend spending about 1.5 to 2 hours while visiting.
I would highly recommend visiting the Grammy Museum once you’re in L.A. We truly enjoyed the experience and we were lucky to visit the Back Street Boys Exhibition which was placed there temporarily during the summer period. (P.S. It will take you around an hour or two hours max. to go through the whole place).
I rated this museum lower than I think I normally would due to the main level on 3 being closed down. We were told they're reinventing or remodeling it. The 2nd & 4th floor were filled with older pictures & videos of singers. Not really impressed.
A nice museum to check out, especially for music lovers or an activity to do on a rainy day. A lot of the exhibits are interactive and the museum itself has collected a great amount of historical artifacts regarding all genres of music. The pricing itself is decent, they do offer a variety of discounts. However, this museum is probably best suited for those who are using travel card packages such as Go Los Angeles! where admission to this museum is already included.
I enjoyed the Grammy Museum. I was able to grasp an abundance of information on so many levels about the music that I never knew. Glad I made the time to visit...
Love this place and have a great time here.
I always have the best time at the Grammy Museum downtown. It’s one that I frequent often, because of the many events and exhibits that are circulated. One of the best exhibits they’ve had was the Whitney Houston exhibit which featured many of her artifacts and costumes from throughout the 80s, 90s, and 00s. They currently are spotlighting Dolly Parton and her many costumes over the years. I also enjoy the frequent events that take place here. The Grammy Museum opens its doors to artists for small concerts, like the recent Thelma Houston experience. There are also film screenings and discussions with industry executives. I highly suggest grabbing tickets to an exhibit which interests you. It is a great place to start building your music knowledge, but more than that, it’s an opportunity to celebrate some of the best the music world has offered us. Five stars!
It's a great museum about American music, covering many genres. You can spend about 3 hours here. The name of the museum is misleading. It has very little to do with The Grammy Awards. Show your Metro Tap Card for a discount.
Fantastic if I new this place was so cool I would have gone sooner
Great place to learn about old and modern music. Nice souvenir store.
The Grammy Museum was great! Beautifully constructed, lots of interesting things to see, and an awesome place to have an event!
Love that place. Very informative. I learn something new every time I go. Entertaining. Friendly staff. Everyone needs to have an experience there. I Love It !! I go every chance I get . . . what are you waiting for . . .
Intimate venue, not a bad seat in the house
I like visiting the Grammy museum because I has a lot of pictures of famous celebrities when I like seeing the most is Michael Jackson and songs of Selena and punk rock bands such as the sex pistols and the Ramones they have a really cool table to select your favorite music.and I believe visiting the Grammy museum will be the most exciting for anyone to visit.
Very small museum with some guitars, clothes... Wish to see more history on music, more stories or live videos of Grammy...
It was fun depending on how much you like specific artists. I went with someone for the backstreet boys exhibit and it was nice overall. I was looking for Twenty One Pilots Grammy win picture and it was nowhere to be found (even though they took their pants off to accept the win!) Even the computers where you can search up past winners wasn't updated past 2015, and they won in 2017!
Just opened...new section devoted to the music of baseball, this summer during the season.
Cool museum especially if it has certain bands on display.
Very cool! Michael Jackson's glove and Johnny Cash's jacket.
The Grammy Museum made me very happy. They have many different artist souvenirs. They also have some interactive sound booths and listening stations. It is a great museum for all ages. The exhibits are replaced regularly so it will be the place where you can return.
Great place to see old time Grammy winners
I was expecting more but maybe because the current baseball theme was not very interesting to me. Wouldn't make a trip just to visit this museum alone and glad I came when it was free admission.
I was on a panel to celebrate the exhibition of Jerry Weintraub presents. All of the staff was delightful. The theater is beautiful. The reception afterward was wonderful and very enjoyable.
Decent place if you're fan of the grammys
Great live interviews &music_ Tonight Dave z Alvin!!!
This is a MUST Place to visit if you are a music lover or arts connoisseur. The museum is very well laid out. Amazing display of music memorabilia. The collections of artist costumes is extensive. It is so surreal to see them up close. I highly explore the different interactive displays as well.
Went with the wife to check out the Grammy Museum. Neat display on Johnny Cash and his concerts at Folsom and San Quentin. My wife was very excited to see the Back Street Boys display. Overall the place looked a little on the empty side, definitely some treasures to see though.
Interesting one time.
If you love the history of music then you will love the Grammy Museum !
Manny amazing things to see here! Not a lot in the gift shop though.
I was expecting a better experience, more memorabilia. The price was good for the experience we did get. The best part was the short doc about the Tina Turner & Beyonce Grammy 08' performance.
Interesting, even for a gal who doesn't really care much about music artist! I liked the Johnny Cash display, and the Dolly Parton display was fun to see too.
Always a pleasure coming to the GRAMMY Museum. As a music fan, it is pretty special.
Never heard of the Grammy museum before, until we saw a small ad by accident about the BSB exhibit in the museum, wish it had more of an advertisement about it everywhere around LA, it was very entertaining, it might be small for what you would expect but still has a lot to see and learn about , I only wished the gift shop had more memorabilia and unique items. A must visit for music fans. And a definite must visit for BSB fans but make sure you visit it before it ends, the BSB exhibit ends early September.
Awesome place if you are fan of music. I would definitely recommend this place.
What a wonderful small venue for interviews and talk about the creative process in the music industry! Amazing interview of Bootsy & Jim! Great sound, too! Parking nearby next to the Figueroa Hotel, walk 1/2 block & your there! Become a member!
We really enjoyed ourselves here. All of us love music and they had something for all. Second floor had the Backstreet Boys exhibit, was small but done very well. Husband loved the Baseball exhibits. If you like Baseball then you will enjoy eveything they have on display. Kudos to the Staff for being very helpful and friendly. Souvenirs are a bit expensive. Definitely recommend this place.
This was my first time here. I wanted to see "Backstreet Boys: The Experience". I loved the interactive elements, which I happily participated. The museum is very clean and organized. I would say to go when there is a specific exhibit that you want to see, as they change often.
I always love music, and this thing made me sooooo happy
For any music and arts lovers, this a MUST place to visit. The museum is well organized. The collections of interesting Grammy artist memorabilias is amazing. The artist costumes are fantastic. Lots of stuff from various eras of music. There are interactive displays as well.
Terrible. Most is closed but they fail to tell you that. Go to the NJ one if you can but do not go here. Also, they mislead you into believing there is a Michael Jackson exhibit. There is a jacket and a glove in a case. That is not an exhibit.
They explain each type of music with samples like a music encyclopedia.
