A wonderful military museum that memorialized a great General. Wonderful day trip From Palm Springs area.

The Patton Museum is located at the Chiriaco Summit and has a decent collection of WW II and later vehicles. They have a number of historical items from and around George Patton as well as a nice collection of small arms as we as some mortar and artillery rounds, etc. if you are a history buff or just interested in seeing things from that era, it is worth a trip

I had driven past this on my way to Ft Irwin many times. I finally had a chance to stop with some time to look around. They do have a military/veteran discount. It's neat to read about Patton's upbringing and the role women played in the war. Very informative. A decent display of memorabilia.

Jon Smithy

First, I want to thank the staff of the General Patton Memorial Museum for adding to what proved to be a fantastic experience. My only regret is that I must return as I did not have enough time to enjoy everything that is offered and displayed. The new wing and the motor pool building as well as the new layout for the yard look spectacular. I cannot wait to return and we'll be doing so very soon. This is a wonderful Museum that has been aligned and crafted, I felt, by people that obviously care.

Rhonda Norris

Very interesting. Wonderful exhibits. Nice place to learn and be able to get out and stretch your legs. I enjoyed it immensely.

A hidden gem in the desert. The General Patton Memorial Museum is a great stop on your trip to or from California. Lots of great war memorabilia from several wars the US had been involved in. This includes tanks, guns, uniforms, protective great, medals, medical equipment and more. Huge displays will entertain and teach most visitors. Plan to spend plenty of time walking around. There are some neat souvenirs to choose from in the gift shop area.

, Nice place to pull over and rest and let your RV cool off large parking lot. Also a really cool tank museum outside didn't go inside because the museum costs money and wasn't looking to spend cash on the way back toward the East Coast. Did stop at the rest stop which is off the same exit. The general Patton Museum did have a nice outside area with picnic tables and a landscapes shaded area to rest outside your car and walk the dogs

Definitely worth the stop, or visit from the Palm Springs areas, since it has been remodeled into a larger, newer facility with impressive displays. I took a couple of high school students here and was delighted to discover that they enjoyed the visit and spent more time than I thought they would watching the film and studying the new display cases. My fifteen year old recently covered WWII in his history course, so it was especially relevant for him. I'm a history lover, so I truly enjoyed seeing the WWII timeline, but I was quite impressed with the size of the tanks which were inside of the building. Stairs led up to one of the tanks and visitors were allowed to go down into one of them. I knew tanks were large, but even I was amazed at how large they were. Worth the small admission price. We spent about two hours here. It was the right amount for the teens, but I could have stayed longer.

Jill Nelke

Interesting part of our history that is surprisingly in the California desert.

Beth Heyden

What a cool piece of history. If you have the time and enjoy history you're going to want to stop. Plan on at least an hour if not more.

Michelle F

This is such a great place! So much more than we anticipated. There's uniforms, maps, books, tanks, weapons, stories and memorabilia that is simply incredible

mike sanchez

So much history of the tank training area near here and pattons involvement. Worth the stop. 3 hours for a slow walk through of the facility and read everything. Nice stop on the day on the way home from sandiego.

Charlotte Brown

Impromptu stop, saw this on the map. Lots of history, some of the layout seemed disjointed/out of sequence. But excellent job by the fundraisers to support this endeavor

Aaron Heyden

anthony Calderon

Fantastic! Accidentally stopped here because I needed to use the restroom at the gas station, and had to stop in once I saw the tanks outside. What a fantastic museum!! Definitely don’t hesitate to pay admission, they have great memorabilia especially if you’re a fan of military firearms. Wish they were open later in the summer, you can spend a lot of time there.

fabricio cabrera

Very informative and very nice little museum.

Victoria Key

It was very interesting, lots to see and learn more about Gen. Patton and other WWII encounters.

Andrew Espinosa

Lots of cool things to see and my kids loved it. We saw pretty much everything in about an hour.

This is actually a really well done museum, which is more than just a tribute to the legendary field general, but also a comprehensive collection of WWI&II exhibits, education and memoribillia. Also a cool collection of tanks!

Luis Rodriguez

Awesome place. Kids enjoyed all the tanks. Great information on General Patton and world wars.

amir khamesi

I liked this place, there is full of memories. War is the worst thing but sometimes there’s no way. I was there with my son and he really liked this place. If you are on your way between Arizona and California it’s not bad to check this place

Steve S

A diamond in the rough. Randomly stopped here on way to Phoenix. Great museum. Well done. We learned a lot. Loved the Tanks !

Miguel Leyba

Too many good tanks. Needed more time.

Emmett Sfetku

Great for teaching younger generations what our forefathers did to fight for our freedoms. Loved the new updates and new wings with more displays. Definitely stop and visit, even if for a short tour.

Kathy Lippencott

Love Patton's memorial. I stop here on most of my trips from Tucson to LA. They allow RV Parking at night after hours. Maybe I'm a little partial, I spend my Military days in Patton's 2nd armored division. There food and service are great.

Pat Mancha

It was really nice. A lot of information about our wars. I wish I had more time to walk thru the whole memorial

Don Morgan

Interesting museum, recommended for WW2 buffs. Photos. and info on George Patton's history. Lots of mementos from the war period. Outside in the compound are some old tank relics. In the adjoining metal building are tank cutaways where you can get a feel of what it is to be in one of them. There are additional WW2 era vehicles inside and in better shape than the tanks outside. The best part for me is finding about the sprawling camps in the early 40's used for training troops in desert tank warfare e.g. fighting Rommel's tank corp in North Africa. The area extended to western Arizona. Also in particular was the attempted use of using carbon arc lights mounted on some tanks to blind enemy tanks. The tactic though was doomed to fail for obvious reasons. Nearby is a convenience store and I think a Foster's Freeze restaurant if you get hungry, gas station too.

Joe Benedetto

Fantastic place for history bluffs. Lots of military vehicles and equipment to look at and touch.

Aaron Kirkland

Nice museum, loved visiting as a kid, happy to take my own kids now.

Aaron Davalos

It is a requirement that you stop here, especially if you have kids. There are some great history lesson.

Jav Munguia

Place is pretty cool to checkout. I always stop and let my kids check it out. They have some walls with names of those who served as well as several cool old tanks and other cool stuff from the past. It's definitely a cool place to checkout whenever you're in the area.

Manuel Fuentes

My son Jackson used to work there and I hauled the first tank there
