An excellent visit onboard an educational and historic vessel. Took us approximately 75 minutes to walk the self-guided tour, that's with time to read signs and take a few photos. You go up and down decks, through doorways and climbing/descending a few steep stairs so perhaps not one for the less able. Worth every penny of the $20 ticket and parking next to the ship is fairly cheap. Thanks to the friendly volunteers who warmly welcomed us aboard and answered questions/gave useful information about various things on the ship.

Steven Abel

Came out from Texas to visit this beautiful preserved ship in all its Glory! A big Well Done to all who have helped bring this alive. The tour is great. Looking forward to more areas of the ship being opened to the public in the future

Stephen O'Loughlin

Excellent self guided tour of this Historic Battleship. A must visit for anyone staying in Los Angeles. I would allow a couple of hours to make the most of the tour. Moderate level of physical movement needed to traverse the ship.

MooseJawn Lewis

Decently restored and we liked that you can take as long as you like for the self tour. The cost is high though.

Rebecca Lemmon

This was really impressive. The self-guided tour was easy to follow, there were knowledgeable volunteers to answer questions, and the views were amazing. Download the app ahead of time and if you'll be doing several things in the Long Beach/ San Pedro area see if you can bundle your admission tickets.

Shannon C

We had a wonderful time. We can't wait to come back again to tour the ship

John Jedda

Spent time on this amazing ship for Amazon's Jack Ryan premier. Really cool ship. Every American should spend time on an American battleship. UNBELIEVABLE EXPERIENCE..and the ship wasn't even the main story!!!

Ian Wright

We had an absolutely fantastic experience on the Iowa!! We got an incredibly informative tour from Captain Rich (a career Navy man and Captain of two military vessels) and just being on a ship that was built during and served in WW2 was staggering. The knowledge the volunteers have and their willingness to share it was the highlight of the trip. Do our collective memory a favor and go visit! Excellent place for parties and events too!

Kelly Norton

Had a great visit with my 6 year old over memorial day week. We managed to avoid the crowds on memorial day itself and had nearly the entire ship to ourselves.

Anna Austin

Wonderful staff, wonderful museum. I was amazed by the ship and the historical photos, articles, and artifacts that were there. The staff was fantastic, a gentleman took my father's name and former rank and he was honorably announced and welcomed over the ship's intercom. Perfect for a family adventure, I highly highly recommend a visit.

Rob Johnson

As an old shellback from the 80's who served as an HM3 and a Seaman on board the USS NEW JERSEY BB-62 and TDY to the USS MISSOURI BB-63 while she was under tow to Long Beach, my wife and I both shed tears, (she was in the Army), as we made the sometimes escorted by volunteers, tour. I was in a cast and she has a hard time getting up and down the ladders but we made it through the tour. We both were exhausted by the end and the walk to the car was draining. One of the things that we didn't expect was that was the Fleet Week weekend in LA so I was thankful to have gotten to see her before the festivities started that following day. Do not bring your pet and call ahead for handicapped or service animals for accommodations. Brought back both a flood of good and bad memories but the pride of being a battleship sailor will forever live on. Thanks to ALL the volunteers who give of their own time to make sure you're getting memories of your life.

Robert Kelly

Every time I see her, it brings back some awesome memories. The Pacific Battleship Center is doing a wonderful job taking care of her. I highly recommend visiting the USS Iowa.

Pamela Shoup

Awesome place to go! Admission is reasonable and there is a lot to learn. You can explore at your own pace. Lots of photo opps.

Doug Shoup

She's my ship. I recommissioned her 35 years ago. It was great to be able to come see her again.

Yahaira Escajeda

Thank you San Pedro for having such a great event for the public & FREE!!. Thank you to all the men/women that do this for our safety & liberty!!

Tomáš Štěrba

The ship itself definitely impresses, where else can you visit warship of this kind? Tour is well marked, live guides help answer your questions and history is well summarized on three videos. However, star down for short opening hours and ticketing experience. Also you won't get to lower decks.

Silvia Stewart

Interesting for ages 12 years and up. Also enjoyed the presence of our wonderful men and women in our Country's various Service Uniforms enjoying the tours also...IMPRESSIVE and PROUD to be among them while enjoying the ships and recalling the historical events and people.

Kenneth De Pablo

This is such a great place. It is very unique and a gem to the local san pedro community. My mom was amazed that something like this is available for tours. Watching the fireworks next to it was awesome. Highly recommended and it isn't as a touristy as one would think.

Mark C.

Went with my 8 year old. He loved it. He liked the Midway more, but overall we had a great time on the Iowa.

julia rene

It was really fun to walk around, and even the little kids had a lot of fun with the scavenger hunt they have for them.

F G

impressive ship, Great History, Vers Friendly staff, sou would have loved to see more of the innards of the ship below Deck ,Powder chamber etc

marilyn day

Went to fleet week concert. Was wonderful. They really stepped up from last year. More chairs and porta-potties. Great concert!

Jack Mackel

The Iowa museum is in the process of being made into a museum. Fifty years ago going up and down the steep "ladders" was effortless. Today the ladders are steeper up and down. So far the transformation of the USS Iowa BB61 is sensational. I hope they don't ruin it like the USS Midway was ruined.

Mathew Acosta

Beautiful. The history here is so interesting, you can almost feel it when you walk through the halls and corridors of this ship. There’s a lot of signs where you can read about what your looking at, sometimes there are videos to watch. There’s no ac inside some of the hallways so keep that in mind. Wouldn’t recommend going on a very hot day. Gift shop has some nice things and is the last stop you get to once you go through the whole ship. I hope y’all enjoy it as much as we did :)

Brent Croom

The self guided, maze like path through the areas and history of the massive ship was pretty amazing. Nice scavenger hunt for young kids too.

Andrea Koning

A delightful museum with an incredibly rich history. So fascinating and interactive! Preserved and restored with care and love-and it shows. Highly reccomend! Make sure you get there early-well worth a full day visit!

The USS Iowa Museum is a maritime museum located at the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro, Los Angeles, California, United States. The museum's main artifact is the USS Iowa (BB-61), lead ship of the Iowa class of battleships. USS Iowa (BB-61) was the lead ship of the last class of U.S. Navy battleships to be built by the United States. The battleship was originally commissioned in 1943, and served during World War II, the Korean War, and through the Cold War. Iowa earned 11 battle stars during her career and hosted three U.S. Presidents, ultimately earning the nicknames Battleship of Presidents and Big Stick. Iowa was awarded to the Pacific Battleship Center on September 6, 2011 for display at the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro, California. We visited this museum on August 31, 2019 during our San Pedro trip. It was a great experience. The ship is still in surprisingly good condition. The staff was really nice. They know a lot of information. Overall it was a fun trip.

Dillon Wilson

We didn't go on, it would have been 70$ for two adults and two kids. With parking this would have been a $100 day for a family of four. I understand the government doesn't support this attraction but that's a lot. We went during Fleet week and weren't expecting the high cost. Groupon has it for $107 for a family of four for the guided tour. Anyone know where or when they make this adorable? O didn't want to give it less then 5 stars because I'm sure it's nice.

K

Completely fascinating place. Incredible history, craftsmanship and patriotism. Totally worth a visit. Also a self guided tour so you can take your time and pictures as you please. But someone is always around to help you and answer any questions. They also give a ship wide intercom welcome to any service members from any branch.

Apoorv s

I'll be upfront about this museum. If you have been to the one in NYC, you'll find this experience to be kind of underwhelming. It's not as fancy but at the end of the day it has a big historical connection so you will definitely enjoy it and learn from it. There's a lot of straight stairs (not sure what they're actually called) involved so for people with knee problem should come prepared or avoid.

Quiana Murphy

Right next to the USS Iowa there were these amazing Navy ships during the 2019 Fleet week. When you get a chance come and see the great USS Iowa and all the other Navy ship that are deployed but currently docked on the port until Monday Sep 2 2019. So much to see and view..

Kitty Redfern

If you’d like an opportunity to see a real live piece of floating US military history, look no further than the Battleship USS Iowa. Not only will you learn about the battleship itself - which was apparently brought back to life by a group of citizens, and kept afloat by them, not the government - but you will learn much about the history of maneuvers and battles the ship was assigned during its time as an active military battleship. Most of this information is imparted through signs or an app you can download, but my absolute FAVORITE was talking face to face with a veteran. This man was able to not only tell us a great deal about the ship itself, but there was no question about military history in general that he wasn’t able to answer. I was enthralled with my conversation with this not only well spoken but knowledgeable man. It was my great honor to thank him for his proud service to the United States of America.

Kara White

So informative and fun. They pay special tribute to Veterans which we loved and my kids loved to find Vicky.

Alfonso Candela

Down in San Pedro harbor. Cool place 2 check out. One of the last big battle cruisers the United States Navy used in WWll. Very family oriented. Snack bar inside the battle cruiser with a souvenir shop. Need 2 check out the three 16 inch gun turrets. Awesome!

Jordan Smith

All of us really like to visit the battleship. This road sign is very good, so you won't miss anything. It is a good reflection of the sailors' lifestyles during that time and has a lot of history.

Daniel Szamrej

Attended the 40s on the fantail fundraiser for mission 22. Good music, food, drink, and dancing. Had a great time.

Chris Koelber

Never having been on a battleship....it was pretty awesome. I did the self guided tour, which was fine, however, I would recommend taking a guided tour. There are just to many moments of; "What is that and what does it do?" That can't be answered on the self guided tour. There was a veteran on board with a display. He had been on the battleship North Carolina and had great knowledge of what life was like on a battleship. I could have spent a couple of hours just talking to him....but I had my kids with me and they wanted to move on. I hope as time goes on they open up more of the ship to viewing. I will definitely be back.

Debbie Smith

Great to be able to board and see it. My father served on it during the Korean war.

The Elite Friends

This place is absolutely incredible! It is very informative and a lot of work and detail has been put into this!

Michael Blom

Wonderful tour that leads you through a lot of the ship. Did not get to see the inside of the big guns unfortunately. Staff was very nice and friendly and posted along the tour route.

john bishop

Well worth your time to visit. The tour is very interesting and the volunteers there are a wealth of information. I have toured all four ships of this class and found each one very unique. Great way to spend your day.

Vola G

We were not planning on going to visit this, but because of a festival in Long Beach, I took a detour and I’m glad. My son and I really enjoyed walking through the big battleship and learning about it’s history. My son who is six, also loved going up and down the steps throughout the ship. A must see.

Anthony kruzic

Great day excursion ,take the self guided tour, an try out the aviation simulators. History for the viewing. Good food I. The on board cafeteria. Also if you are adventurous sign up for one of their specialty tours. Also offer overnight sleep overs aboard ship for adult chaperoned school age kids.

Magnus Fullu

Important place of US history, gave a thorough insight in the US Navy , and how they operate an live offshore. Nice and clean, a museum on a boat? Amazing idea! Nice incentive that many important people are remembered through this museum. A treasure the US and LA should be very proud of.

Brian Perkins

Very worthwhile trip! Great history, information and the staff are all very knowledgeable and informative. A must see for anyone, history buff or not.

Robert Martinek

Way cool.. if you like battleships and naval history, you gotta go.

Patryce Harris

Had a blast. 1st time on a destroyer ship n I wasn't disappointed. Cant wait till next year.

Kyle Martin

Honestly a wonderful experience. If you're in LA its worth a visit for sure. Extremely interactive and all the employees are very passionate and knowledgeable about the ship. Just to reiterate, definitely worth a visit.

Joseph C

Touring battleships and WW II memorabilia has been with me since childhood. Iowa being restored was a treat as the levels showed how technology was then quite good. Those in our time think we have it all, but each generation is equal as the next will think the same thing. Don't miss pearing through the spyglass on the upper level and the kissing couple as you exit. Another treat is Roosevelt's wheelchair and the officers quarters.

Aaron Gayden

There's so much to learn I could have stayed all day. The interactive nature of the exhibits also put you in the coolest places in the ship. It's such a great experience. I can't wait to go back and see what they do next!

Alex Won

Overnight scout camp was very interesting and educational. Very good staff, who are dedicated.

Ania Halbrook

I have not been there yet but the ticket purchase process is like from ancient times. I am visiting here so I do not have an access to a printer, so now I have to find a Fedex or Staples to print the tickets?? You should change the paper tickets to digital ones ASAP. This is like going back in time at least 10 years! Not pleased at all! Update: The tour was awesome. My kids loved the scavenger hunt and basically everything about this ship. Definitely a great tourist attraction for families! Apparently the tickets can be shown on a digital device but the instructions on the website does not say so, therefore this should be corrected and that’s why 4 stars since I had to find a way to print the tickets before we went.

Marvin Lee

I love it. Good historical battle ship and I think I caught a ghost in videos.

iWoody Rose

We attended L.A. Fleet Week in San Pedro. We were able to get a quick lesson on how to use military weapons. Greeted active military men & women. It was an extremely hot day, but it was nice taking pictures on huge military vehicles and holding weapons, and just saying thanks to the men and women for their service. We did not go on the ship because we already toured the ship once before.

Adrian Colon

Los Angeles is lucky to have a piece of real life history so close and accessible. The Battleship USS Iowa Museum is an incredible hidden gem for those visiting AND residing the Los Angeles area. Located conveniently by the 110 freeway and the Thomas Bridge, the Iowa is a floating museum lovingly restored and cared for by veterans from all age levels and branches of the US military and some private donors. The Iowa served during WWII and beyond before being decommissioned so when you walk up the walkway and step onto its deck you feel not only the history but an immense respect for those that served to protect this country. Chills. The staff are mostly veterans as mentioned and they could not be more friendly. Tickets are affordable and there are plenty of opportunities to donate. If you have little ones please note that it is a battleship and you will have to supervise them AT ALL TIMES. Please if you visit bring all the respect you can muster and if you cannot, just stay home. I love visiting this place and always bring any visiting friends here. Forget Disneyland!

Frank Milky

Los Angeles is a lucky place to have this maritime museum. The best place to take pictures and the place is full of incredible history and craftsman. It was a great experience and know how the men lived who worked in the ship.

FG HOPKINS

Excellent museum! The volunteer docents deliver a wealth of historical information. It's apparent that they love teaching visitors about the USS Iowa and even history in general terms. We were very impressed. Kudos!

Iman 22

A must see. And if you are local I say a family membership is well worth it. 19 to get in for one day visit and family member is 90.

Thomas Lemke

Awesome place. So much history at one point, it's breathtaking. A must see!

Greg Gardner

Awsome display of firepower! If your at all into history or naval technology this place is a must. Staff are very knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. Take the full steam ahead tour... you get to see the boilers and host of other places in the ship you wouldn't ordinarily be able to see!

Adrian Bullock

Absolutely loved this. Being very much into planes, cars and ships this was a must visit. Its been amazingly looked after, staffed by a lot of retired sailors who know their stuff, well signed so easy to follow the route and most areas are accessible. Highly recommended

beth dienna

Paid extra for the extended tour and was well worth it. We have a whole new appreciation for the hero's and what they were dealing with... Great historical site!!!

Daniel Skelly

Great place to bring the family. Very knowledgeable volunteers and staff. You will learn a lot about military sea life and the personal history of those who served on this and other ships. WW2 Navy veterans were also present which made the tour come alive. Cherish these precious veterans while they are still with us. A trip to this ship will help you appreciate your country and the freedom we have as a Nation. Do it.

Carlos Medina

Great place to spend an afternoon. Very cool place to be and has a lot of history.

Joseph Skalicky

This is absolutely a machine of war. The restoration looks fantastic I wish we could hear the guns....so bad...but, I understand. The walk around was awesome anyways thanks for a wonderful afternoon.

Nathan Wise

I am a huge history buff and WWII. They have done a great job restoring and maintaining the ship and I could have spent the entire day on the ship. I took my dad and he was in heaven. If you love history, military history, ships, engineering, etc this is a must see. I would also recommend the Mighty Mo but that is in Pearl Harbor.

Barry Benson

Awesome visit!! Brought back memories 50 years ago

Greg Fry

Outstanding experience. Informative, interesting and completely hands on. The docents (if that's what the volunteers were called) were great, enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. You literally step back in time when you visit. Great place to tour!

Sig Hilke

This was a great experience! It was very interesting to see how the men who served on this magnificent ship lived and worked. Well worth the admission fee. The self guided tour took a couple hours.

Russ Lacuata

This treasure came to San Pedro just a few years ago, and they have done a wonderful job in setting up for a fascinating tours. The battleship was nicely restored and maintained. The docent are knowledgeable and shared a lot of history about the ship. A Must see for everyone.

RW Wilson

This is a great experience, on a real warship. We can see a lot of history and understand how they live at sea. The ship has multiple floors, and the scenery on each floor is very beautiful. If your timing is right, you may see a cruise ship passing by. What I want to say is that this is not suitable for disabled people, because this is a real ship, and the environment is like this. There are narrow stairs that can go up and down. Definitely worth a look.

Edgard Gonzalez

Loved it, very interesting also loved the water fountain park next to ship! Good place to go with family!

David Rajewski

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Awesome historical piece of history. I'd recommend checking this out if you love WWII or historical military hardware.

Valentijn De Smedt

Nice and impressive tour and museum. Take your time to visit, can spend several hours here. Parking lot is very big and cheap.

Marc Crandall

The exploration of an important worship in world war II. In addition to the amazing history, the ship is a living testament to the sacrifices made by our sailors. Visitors can tour practically the entire ship. Sometimes folks have the opportunity to speak with world war II veteran volunteers who have fascinating stories to share. No the touring the ship requires climbing up and down steep stairs, so it is not for strollers or wheelchairs. However there is disabled parking nearby.

Anthony Hill

This is a great attraction. We went on a Saturday and they had quite a few volunteers on deck giving color commentary and making it a great experience. Really loved the detailed presentation inside showing all the ship movement over the years and even had a WWII vet on board to boot. Really great.

Patrick Bychowski Bychowski

What an experience i encourage anyone and everyone go board this great ship and experience the history that I'll give us what we have today freedom baby freedom.

maria mancillas

Interesting & exciting wish i had more time that day to spend aboard the ship.

jerry farese

My wife and I stopped by for a quick photo-op, but didn't have time to take a tour. But even from the outside, it was awe-inspiring to see such an important piece of American history! Next time we're in the area, we'll take the tour.

Hilton Perez

Really great place. Very interesting to walk around at take the tour, you learn a lot about it's history and the kind of operations it would do when it was still in use. They also have a scavenger hunt for kids. The people who work on the ship are all willing to teach you all about it, just ask them. Positive experience and a great day for the family.

Seth Taylor

I love seeing old military sights. This ship was awesome. Take the guided tour you won't be disappointed. Our tour group even had a person who served on that ship in the 80s which was an added bonus. The volunteers are all still working to restore the ship so it will only get better. This ship was just as cool as the Midway in San Diego.

Mark Ostbloom

Awesome ship to visit. Everyone made us feel welcome. Great job!

Tiffany S

This museum is amazing! I have always appreciated our military, but getting to walk through this museum and see what they went through and how they had to live, upped my appreciation so much more. If you are in are visiting the LA area, you should stop and see this, it is more than well worth it!

Dennis Dubon

Excellent place to bring your kids!!! Learn about our history. The history behind this boat. Feels good to walk thru the boats halls, see and learn what your boys had to do for us day in day out!!!

D Man

Went here 2 years ago and it's just like the Missouri battleship in Pearl Harbor Hawaii. I haven't been to the other 2 in that class yet. I only been to the one here and in Pearl Harbor. This battleship was one of the last battleships ever built by the United States. This battleship class is the best looking of all of the battleships built by the United States.

Kevin Bizzoco

Don't misconstrue my three stars. I'd recommend the Battleship Iowa to anyone, but it's become more of a tourist attraction than a historical look into America's naval past. They've converted large sections of the ship into things like photo areas, model showcases, and gift shops. Not very much of the ship is shown, and going down to some of the decks below requires a pretty hefty fee. It's worthy sight to see, but seems a bit shallow of a look for such a large ship. If you're really into naval history and looking to go out of your way to see an Iowa Class battleship, you'd probably want to look at Iowa's sister ship, the New Jersey. It's less commercialized, so you'll see a lot more of it, but it's much further from LA!

M Dominguez

Never got inside, (showed up too late during Fleet week) but it's quite a sight to see. Warning: no disabled access/stairs only. Will write more when I actually get onboard :)

Sallie Liebsack

Always so full of gratitude for this beautiful ship and all it entails. Thank a hero! This ship is full of history and honor. If you haven't visited, it's worth it to go! This photo was during Fleet week! We got to thank a few sailors that day! The music performers really made it an enjoyable family day!

Giny Smith

If you are a nautical history buff, very cool. Had a chance to chat with a WW2 vet which was a honour. I don't have many older people in my circle so it was a really nice experience. The only experience I have had with an old war ship is as a scuba diver. I kept thinking about how it would be to dive a ship like this. The ship almost emanates confidence and manliness. Hope you get the idea. Anyway, go check it out! Run by some interesting people.

Randy Sickles

This is an Amazing experience! Can't really even absorb it all! Will definitely come back for the full tour with the engine room!

John Livernois

If you love history. Great tour. You see it all on a battleship

Ben Upah

My review is biased, I have been waiting for my opportunity to see this ship since I was 9 so, it was really cool. Go see it! Bring your kids. Buy a hat. Check out the HUP it's gorgeous!

A really wonderful experience but it would be fantastic if more was open to the public.

Jessica Rebhahn

Really awesome, informative, a definite must see. Self guided tour, and they have a simulator. There are a lot of stairs and steep ones so be prepared.

Michael Bilger

An amazing battleship tour. The Iowa is kept in great condition and the tour covers most of the ship, giving you a great idea of what it was like to live aboard a battleship during the Vietnam War. Only two slight downsides... the tour uses a mobile app that could stand a bit of improvement (bring earbuds), and if you're tall you're going to hit your head at least once. That's not the tour's fault, the blame for that probably belongs to the US Navy Bureau of Construction and Repair.

Catalina Villalobos

I was happy because this is my coutry God pray i be too happy i meet with my grandson i am feeling relax also much time no going on street for happy

Rita Maldonado

This is was nice. Was already closed when we stopped by. The guard say we had 15min to go on board a look. Nice guy. I will be when open.

Luke Powers

Really cool museum, went here after the aquarium, glad we made the trip. As with any self funded museum, it's in various states of repair, but over all it was still very interesting. Kept a 2 and 4 year old (somewhat) entertained as well.

Ben Wagner

Interesting self tour. It's a little long though. Pretty tired by the end of a warm day.

Jack Almskov

Super informative tour! The people working there was so friendly and great at explaining things. We got the extensive tour and it was worth every penny

Mari Farmer

Definitely worth seeing! It was amazing and the guide was terrific! Couldn't have had a better experience!

stacey klutts

So cool. Free for those of us from Iowa. Still donated, though, and worth admission if we had to pay. The tour 'helpers' are awesome...excellent telling of history as it relates to the ship.

Goldie Geisinsky

This is a battleship used in World War II. It's very interesting to bring your kids to see how our Navy love while on the ship and all the different jobs and people needed. It's only a walk through. There area of San Pedro has so much to or for a family that USS Iowa can be one stop of a full day trip!

Elisabeth Breeze

This was a fun and interesting tour. We were able see many historical photos and furniture and enjoy stories of the ships history, every room has a story. The tour involves a lot of narrow, steep stairs (Ladders) so be prepared!

Peter Werrenrath

Absolutely fascinating history. FDR used it for the planning of the D-Day invasion! The main guns weigh over a million pounds! The decks at made of wood! Astounding stuff. They will announce you or a family member who has served in the Navy. Wear sturdy shoes...there are lots of ladders (stairs). Great national treasure.

Jeremy Paddock

Super interesting for us. The kids loved climbing up and down the various decks. Bring your water bottles because it gets hot.

Laurie Hinshaw

Wonderful way to preserve history. Met a 96 yr old vet with stories to tell.

Shane Urman

This was really impressive. The self-guided tour was easy to follow, there were knowledgeable volunteers to answer questions, and the views were amazing. Download the app ahead of time and if you'll be doing several things in the Long Beach/ San Pedro area see if you can bundle your admission tickets.

Ron Clonts

A glimpse into the past with one of the most legendary war machines ever made that still exists! The self guided tour is excellent and the ship is in great condition.

David Cumming

Floating museum tells the story of the Iowa and the Navy through her three commissionings. Additional exhibit in the stern dedicated to many wartime ship wrecks discovered by Dr Ballard of Titanic fame worth the extra money. Love the audio tour contained in the app for your cellphone.

flyinfreakflag

Great experience. Staff on scene was great and well informed and made the experience that much more amazing. Meeting some of the men who worked on this ship was an honor and a privilege. I highly suggest getting here and checking out this piece of history and radical machine of power. God bless America.

Ashley A

I truly had a great experience on this tour in San Pedro. Went on a weekday, early and took my whole family. We had a truly amazing time. This ship is filled with so much history and interesting things to see. Made a collage out of the pics and what perfect song to add to it, "Begin the Beguine." This is a tour definitely worth going on.

Mariana Hernández

Very interesting place to discover if you are near to LA. Also, you can take advantage and pay your entrance in a combo with the Aquarium of the Pacific. So, paying 45 dollars you can spend your day in these 2 places. If you are curious about history, discovering interesting information and have in memory those who fight in those times, this place is perfect for you. It offers different rates for elder citizens and other groups. The souvenir store is a little bit expensive. But, money goes for maintenance of the museum. Finally, workers are very passionate, lovely and hard-working.

Amanda Hartley

I really enjoyed the hunt to find Vicki their dog they had a board the ship years ago. I suggest making one that is a little harder for the adults. The boat does need some tlc tho. Thank you for your service!

Matt Jones

Awesome self guided tour. It took about an hour to get through the whole ship. Definitely worth it if you have a little time to spare!

paul vhayste

WW2 relic that served three campaigns in different decades. It's amazing that this magnificent piece of American engineering has been preserved for future generations to see. Visitors need to pay a very cheap entrance fee then partake in a self-guided tour to a lot of the ship's key areas, giving them a chance to get up close to the ship's exterior and interiors. There are helpful volunteers and veterans that will interact with you along the way, as well as pre-recorded videos and signs about a particular section or event that happened on that room or part of the ship. You can also download the Museum's app which can also allow you to use your phone's camera on specific augmented reality spots for a more interactive experience. Overall, visiting this place is worth it. It's a unique and memorable experience for me.
