You may have noticed that it reaches an feddbacks average is nearly the best one, and it's founded on a high number of scores, so we can say that the assessment is very credible. If people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually stop to put opinions when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Museum corresponds to the category of Museum.
Located at McClellan Park (formerly McClellan AFB), this museum has on display a number of vintage era fighter and various support aircraft used by the U.S. Military. There are a couple of extra types of aircraft included as well. The interior of this museum has a large display of early engines used in aircraft, to the present day, well displayed and with informative text. This area also displays other equipment used by our fighting men and women. Upstairs there are many simulators that are used to demonstrate the joys (and challenges) of flying to young people interested in aerospace that frequently visit on field trips. Inexpensive to enter, and well worth the price of admission. Highly recommend to anyone interested in aerospace, and American aviation history.
Excellent aviation collection, lots of US military aircraft from pre WW 2 to modern days. They even have a Jet Provost (British jet trainer)!! Well laid out, you can get up close to the planes and helicopters. Sadly they can't give access to many planes but you can get on a FedEx 727 if that takes your fancy. Well worth the entrance fee. It may not be the biggest museum but it's worth an hour or more of your time.
So much to learn everyday.
Good place for adults and children. The engines displayed in the museum shows how far and how fast the aero space technology has been through. It is easy to spend few hours here
Amazing experience they have the LARGEST collection of airplanes in the USA (I believe) and it’s EXTREMELY HANDS ON!!!
On the website it showed you were suppose to be able to get on the planes outside. Not true they are all closed except the FedEx cargo plane which is just an extremely hot and stuffy tube. So disappointing we came just to be able to get on and look in all the outside planes. Extremely disappointing and a waste of $40...
Go their all the time love it
Loved this place and kids enjoyed a lot..
It's cool lots to see
Always fun when I go with my daughter and my father.
Helpful.Great place to visit especially for veterans. Volunteer staff members are very informative and
I went on a class field trip it was nice but when we did the tour outside it was really hot so hats and umbrellas are needed
A great time for the whole family! The volunteers are a wealth of knowledge as well!
A great family experience. Some of their planes are HUGE!
We made an impromptu trip to the Aerospace Museum because of rainy weather, and the fact that my dad really likes airplanes. The museum had some fascinating exhibits and interesting history. They are also in the process of renovating and upgrading different parts to be more interactive, so that’s nice to see. They had a nifty interactive touch-screen quiz about planets and space. If they get more stuff like that then this will be an awesome spot for educational tours. The one drawback is that all of their planes are kept outside (makes sense because they’re huge), but we couldn’t go see any of them because of the rain. This is a great educational spot, and I recommend it for children or any adult plane-enthusiast.
My boys, as well as the kids I babysit, had so much fun here! The docents and volunteers are very friendly and knowledgeable about the pieces at the museum. Plus there is a playground and small splash pad right next door
I have not been here, but I hoped that I could go here on a field trip, but my teacher says bus would cost too much, please help
It was a lot of Fun! My kids loved it. Make sure you have plenty of time to spend there and go on a cooler day for the outside activities.
Keeps getting better! I've been bringing my daughter and her friends here for 10+ years. We always enjoy exploring The insides of the airplanes or helicopters. The people are knowledgeable and helpful. They have added a room of computer flight simulators you can train on upstairs. There is an outside picnic area and play ground out front now too.
What a great place to visit I can show you I enjoyed every step we took their every corner there was something new how amazing
Staff is very friendly and great with the school kids.
Feild trip there. AWESOME!
I had not been here for 20+ years but definately had some fond memories. It had since moved since my last visit, but the newer building is very nice. They also added simulations. Had a bunch of fun walking through the 4 planes that were open as well.
The flight simulators are high tech and fun, and it was really cool to check out all of the old planes. Great museum!
Interesting museum. Outdoor expositions in bad condition though. Friendly volunteer staff members inside who guide you around and answer questions.
Great place for kids , curators are awesome and full of information.
We had a great time. The place wasn't packed despite being Veterans Day weekend. Indoor displays were set up nicely, some interactive stuff for the kids, and a little of everything (aviation, space, STEM). There is a nice kids play area upstairs. The Flight Zone instructors were really nice. We didn't have a ticket for a lesson but they let us come in and check it out, and did a demo for us. There were a few things not on or working (Mars, spacesuit mirror, one other planet touch screen exhibit), but overall it was great. There are a ton of static displays outside, from all branches as well as Cal Fire and some GA. They really have stuff packed in the space and you get what you pay for. Some of the highlights included F14, A10, FedEx B727. Some of them are dirty and worn, but still very cool to see. The guides are very friendly and knowledgeable, and love to chat.
some amazing stuff in here, took the grandkids and they loved all the big planes and being.able to go uo in them, will do again
Very nice museum of not just aircraft but several space related exhibits as well. Knowledgeable docents and staff. Many of the aircraft are also of local or State historical significance.
Staff on hand is very knowledgable and fun to talk to. Plenty of aircraft and other aerospace vehicles. Some of the aircraft are in need of repair but still fun to check out
Nice little spot for aviation and aerospace fans alike! The admission is a tad pricey compared to other museums holding a higher bar on exhibits, but is an overall fun experience!
Very interesting and helpful staff..
My 4 year old son loved it.
We went on free Museum day and the volunteers were full of incredible stories!
Very nice displays of military & commercial aircraft. Many interactive displays.
Really great way to spend an afternoon. Our docent made it even better. Flight simulators you can experience and some really fun stuff for the kids to.
Family friendly and the docents are always more than happy to share history with you
Very thorough
Pretty fun and easy to get to. Lots of great history!
Nice combination of aircraft, exhibits, and things for the kids. A good museum!
Worth the trip. If you like the train museum you will like this one. My son liked being able to go inside some of the old planes. The playground outside is fairly new and fun.
One of the best air museums I've been to because of the knowledge and experience of the docents. And it has all the Century Series fighters!
Loved this place. Staff and volunteers were great. Recommend this for all aviation fans.
The docents are incredible here. Ask questions. Listen. Learn. A museum is essentially its staff & this is a great museum.
Not bad at all. I would have liked it to have more NASA stuff and people who knew about it but I got a tour and detailed explanations for the old war planes. The guy was very knowledgeable and he volunteered his time. Overall, it was worth the small fee and my time. I highly recommend.
Great place for everyone!
Could be better, not worth the $20 paid to enter... the atmosphere once in the hangar seems like a trade school showing off projects their students did. I like aircraft as much as any fanatical wing-nut or rotor-head but I was dissappointed in this place. The Smithsonian Air and Space museum doesnt even cost as much as this place did...
Neat but the price is a bit high. There's a fun little park next to it, though.
Great place for kids to experience history
Thanks to Gerry M. we had a great time at the museum. He took us around and shared many interesting facts and stories. It is really worth a visit!
For kids it is good to have their dream.
My hubby and I took two of our grandsons to see the museum. They are here from Las Vegas spending the summer. They saw lots of old airplanes and got valuable information from the docents. Afterwards we visited the gift shop where the boys were happy to play with the many different planes and helicopters they saw on display earlier.
Great place for anyone who loves aviation and this museum has some great planes. Also you can play a Flight simulator which is really fun, there is also a movie place which shows the history of aviation, which was really fun when i tried it. One of the other places i loved about this museum is the 727 that you can go inside of and walk around and a few other planes which you can go inside and walk around!
A great museum. They have continued to grow and add to their collections over the years. We love the old planes and jets.
I learned so much in just an hour walking around inside about the history about the development of aircraft engines, the Apollo missions, and Tuskegee Airmen! Very interesting, would go again given the opportunity!
Awesome planes and tons of knowledge from all the workers! Fantastic place!
Great way to spend a couple of hours. The airplanes don’t have fresh paint, but the docents were very friendly and knowledgeable, and facility clean and classy. There is nothing like running your hand down the olive drab riveted fuselage of an airplane that flew over Normandy on D-Day.
You get a good look at aviation history great place to give tribute to our veterans .
The docents are very knowledgeable. A variety of aircraft, rocket engines, a sectioned jet engine, and more. Allow at least 2 hours. I recommend about 4 hours.
Enjoyed every second!!! I will be retuning
Love the science, education, the friendly staff, the kids playroom upstairs and most of all you can end your day with a visit to their incredible playground on the outside perimeters with splash pads!!!
Amazing place with a plethora of aircraft to walk around and see
Many historical aircraft to see
Loved to exhibits, especially the hands on Space and STEM exhibits for kiddos. Clean bathrooms in both levels, great staff, very nice. Items in store were reasonably priced. Lots of things to look at, plenty of places to explore. My kiddo loved climbing in the plane cockpits and imagining she was the pilot. Two levels, and an outdoor experience as well. We'll go back again, she had an awesome time, and it was cool to learn new things for myself as well. My little future astronaut was not at all disappointed and has asked to go back several times already. The only thing kind of lacking was the kiddos play area, seemed geared towards 3.5 and under, but my kid still had fun playing with the baby that was there.
The aerospace museum is a blast. Took my daughter who was 5 at the time. She really enjoyed all the planes. Would recommend to anyone.
Great place for a 3 year old also...had loads of fun and interesting. Must visit place. It takes at least 2-3 hours to go through leisurely. But each and every thing is interesting. Have been to the plane which is used in world war 2. Never was boring. On a colder day must carry jacket. Since most of the planes(viewing) are in open space and it's windy the day we went.
Awesome experience visiting with the grandkids. Actual pilots who flew some of these planes were there to give us a realistic insight into their adventures and missions defending our freedoms. Best experience I’ve had in a long time. You have to spend some time here!
Great place for young children to learn about space and visit planes! Will definitely be going here again. Also it's free to AD.
Great museum for adults and children plenty of helpful staff to answer any questions. 4 planes or cockpits the kids can sit it and a play area for littles. Seema like it could be pricey for a bigger family.
Knowledgeable people. Very interesting for my young teenagers.
Children LOVE it here
A hidden gem in Sacramento! The museum has a great collection of aircrafts. The kids and I really enjoyed our trip here.
Great place to visit and learn about airplanes. There are many planes and helicopters to look at and you can walk into a few of them. There is information about each plane to learn its history. It’s a quick visit and the tickets are $15 for adults.
Wonderful place love but loved the flight simulator
Went on a date with my girlfriend here. It was very cool being able to see all the military plane's. You could even go inside some! They had a few hands on activities for kids, a gift shop, and a playground outside. The staff was awesome and very informative. Overall it was a great time for $10!
Nice museum with a park next to it
Small but nice museum. Staff is awesome!
Friendly staff, lots of stuff to do and look at.
I'm a photographer and been going there for 10 yrs shooting HDR. Love this place. I wish they had more old smaller planes like they used to. I don't need to see a Fedex plane. In years past they had more planes open to walk in to see but a recent visit only had the big Fedex. Hope that changes.
We took our sons here on Father's Day, and they had a blast! We'll definitely be back again.
This museum is fantastic. Great for all ages. Lots of planes inside and outside.
Absolutely loved everything about it we spent about 3hrs in just totally "WOW"d by the place my 8yr old son just had a blast, he is still taking about it days later! My father went as well and he was just astonished by the engine displays, he was excited to touch an SR-71 engine. That staff was really friendly, approchable, and pleasant. Price of admission was cheap, their gift shop was reasonable, Id probably suggest to sell even more promotional items I definitely would have bought them! And their playground extraordinary!
Good place to bring your kids to. Their rocket appreciation days are great for both kids and parents; anyone for that matter. They show you how to assemble model rockets and launch them. I love to chat with the veterans about airplanes and their experiences.
Great plane museum. Vern and the other docents were awesome and answers all my questions. And Warren was very kind in showing the flight simulator. Please let him know I found the J58 engine with the docents help on the first floor. Great way to spend my afternoon. Thank you!!!
Great assortment of aircraft. Mostly military. One FedEx 727. Flight Sim is very fun. They run x-plane 11 and have the zibo 737 on some setups.
What an amazing experience! Admission here is $15.00, plus $10.00 if you want to do one of their flight simulators. I thought it was very worth the $15.00 I spent! Unfortunately, I couldn't do the simulator (I have terrible motion sickness) but just browsing all the amazing planes was so fun! On dry/sunny days they even let you go inside a few of them, but I went while it was rainy out, so unfortunately I couldn't go inside any. They have a bunch of Veterans who volunteer there, which I loved! One of them talked to me about a plane built in WWII and it was so awesome to learn it first hand!
A fun learning experience and a great place to visit with the family!
Wonderful family fun!!!
If you are an airplane buff, this is the place to go. They have engines you can see, airplanes that people can climb in and out of, and small things for the kids to do. They had a DaVinci display last year, and it was so wonderful I never even made it to the airplanes.
Absolutely loved this place. My first time there and already want to return.
Very bad experience with the museum. I called to ask some questions, and the gift shop employee hung up the phone while I was talking. Get some manners please.
Really spectacular place to take the kids so they can see inside a jet engine and see many different types of vehicles, mostly planes, helicopters and jets.
Great place but too less planes.
I took a field trip to this place in 5th grade. It was the best thing I had done in a long time. The airplanes were cool and we even got to go inside of them. My favorite part was the flying simulator.
I have been here 3 times since moving here 4 years ago and I enjoy it. I take my children to see what their great grandpa flew and fixed as well as the progress of our military. On veterans day 2018 I learned it was free for all to enjoy, so we went again. The flight simulator is still charge, but it is a very decent price for an unforgettable experience. It is a great museum and on this day they had many WWII vets speak which was very nice.
Took my niece with my sister. Good family fun.
It was my first time at this park. My co worker put together a paint party and I took my gbaby and as you can see my gbaby had a blast for the 4th of July
Not worth the price to just view the airplanes from the ground.
Do not, I repeat, DO NOT take the family here on Free Sacramento Museum Day. Insane amount of people crowding a relatively small area for a Aerospace Museum. Crying children because they don't have enough actives or things they can touch. I feel I'm been kind even with the two star rating. I've recently visited the California Aerospace Museum in Los Angels and what can I say, I stood less than two feet from Space Shuttle Endeavour. Absolute technological and historical greatness filled the entire room. I rated it a 5 thus when compared to greatness what chance was there really.
Great displays and touchable exhibits
Nice place to show the kids some cool stuff.
Absolutely amazing. So much better than it ever was. The gift shop has better pricing then other shops that sell the same items. Perfect place for kids to have fun and learn.
Lots to see. Fun for little ones too.
I enjoyed this museum. Kid friendly. The staff was great. Very knowledgeable about the history behind each exhibit. Don't forget to step outside for the best part, walk amongst some legendary planes! And the have an A-10 tank killer!
Very interesting but none of the planes were open like my last visit!!!!! ugh
Kids loved the Aerospace Museum. Being able to go into the old planes are cool. There were some planes you could sit in. My 2&1/2 yr old loved this!
My 1.5 year old loved it!
Love the Aerospace Museum. Always interesting things to see there. Walking around the planes outside, getting an up close look is the best part.
Great place to learn for kids with all sorts of extras like pizza and flight simulators for some
This place is Amazing! Tons of aircraft, information, and kid interaction about airplanes and spacecraft!
Amazing place, the kids loved it, and so did my wife and I
We had a great time at the Aerospace Museum. The tour guides have great stories and are very knowledgeable.
Nice to visit like the old planes me andy daughter like it
A nice little spot in Sacramento to get up close and personal with history! The building is on the smaller side but they also have a huge outdoor area too. Tickets are a little bit pricey as well
We have a lot of fun inside outside impossible 103°
Great display of military and civilian planes. Lots of engines on display and hands on project areas for kids of all ages. Several flight simulators upstairs with trained pilots helping you fly. Also they had several airplanes open to walk through outside. Fun time for kids and adults.
Very nice, the gentleman was an excellent guide, explaining all the different Aircrafts. Nice to see and hear about military history.
Incredible! Loved it! The volunteers are extremely knowledgeable. Static displays are super cool! Park next store (has nothing to do with museum but good to know if you have kids) is so NASTY!
Nice place to visit. They have a real suit from a U2 pilot, and other U2 related items. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly too. It is a must for any plane geek staying in or visiting the Sacramento area. They also have a small gift shop where you can pick up some presents.
Brings back memories of when I used to work here. It was McClellan AFB back then.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff of retired Veterans.
Very small museum but decent to take young children an admire some old aircraft. It does have a small gift shop and actually a pretty cool playground next to it for the kids.
Great place!!!! The people working here have tons and tons of information. It is amazing being able to see so many types of planes. The workers where beyond helpful and super nice. I look forward to visiting this museum again.
My husband enjoyed the exhibits and learning from the docents and volunteers that were stationed outside by the planes. Would have given it 5 stars is the while museum was open (they were installing a new exhibit) and the simulators were working.
We love museums! We have purchased memberships to some different museums over the years! The first membership that we had was to the Bakersfield Zoo.
Space exploration and history displays. It's worth paying an extra $10 for the flight simulator upstairs where you get one-on-one training by a pilot. Many eager volunteers and Docents.
This museum is a great resource for young and old alike. A large hangar with information on various people, planes, and propulsion systems that have influenced the world of aviation. Outside you can view planes large and small, upstairs there is a flight simulator open on weekends. I recommend visiting duke in the area.
History buffs, rejoice! Great stuff! Great layout. The flight simulation is a lot of fun too!
Nice idea and they have a good collection of planes but the harsh summer weather has really taken a toll on the outdoor aircraft. Unfortunately they are in significant disrepair. Having said that I would definitely recommend going there, especially if you have kids. I went on Sunday and it was packed. The kids were really excited and there is a very nice playground next door.
Great experience for the whole family. Lots of aircraft on display inside and outside. Pick the right time and they will have aircraft that you can walk through and sit in!
My two and a half year old loved this place so much. He won't stop talking about it. There are interactive exhibits, planes to go on, things to touch, and even a toddler area upstairs. Next door there is also a nice park with a large playground and picnic tables.
There were many helpful volunteers in hand sharing their own experiences and answering our questions. The collection wasn't quite as impressive as others I've seen, but the men made all the difference.
There was lots to explore, with loads of airplanes as well as historical & technical information. It was disappointing that we couldn't go inside many of the planes, maybe we didn't pick the best day.
Recommend if interested in planes and history to talk to the volunteers who've experienced being in the US Air Force past. Great listening to their stories.
Very cool experience. There was more to see than we expected, which is great. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, many were veterans who flew some of these aircraft.
Great mix of various aircraft outside, mostly military planes, many of which I worked on while I was serving back in the late '60s. Upstairs they had a number of flight simulators that allowed attendees to "fly" various aircraft. I watched one of our group, a retired US Airways pilot, "fly" a 727 simulator under the Golden Gate bridge. It was so realistic that he was sweating profusely when he was done. Lots of fun.
Quick and fun, lots to see but won't take more than a couple hours even if you want to do all that they have to offer. Makes a good start to a lazy weekend day.
They have an A-10 there, need I say more?
My son enjoyed it. Seemed a little small for 15$ per person hard to reccomend if its hot outside. Would reccomend if its a cool day or right when they open at 10am if its a warmer day.
Great time. Highly recommend. BTW Great example of what alternative energy can do: the whole place including air conditioning is done via solar.
Very good selection of Viet Nam era aircraft amongst their many retired planes. Knowledgeable docents as well.
Cool place to bring the kids and learn about aircrafts. Really cool old planes.
Nice place with lots of interesting aircrafts and information to read.
Awesome place lots of history
Nice place to visit locally, even we have a park next to it.
Visited before as a spectator. This time was a reserved room for a meeting. Very nice and easily assessable. Looking forward to going back.
Not the largest air exhibit I have seen, but well worth my time (two and half hours). The docents were very helpful and knowlegeable. I, for instance, spent 50 minutes in the Constellation, getting the complete tour of this military version. A good collection and variety of aircraft. They seem to change which ones are open to tours depending on the day of the week. Also had a selection of piston engines for aircraft of various eras. It was neat to be able to touch them, rather then have them behind barriers.
Good place to take the kids.
