Awesome place, I've walked by it for years and never went in. I was missing out, it was very well done. I never would have guessed they had so much stuff in there, even a helicopter. The staff was great too. Fun place I will go back.

Anastasia blake

Great place. My kids loved it. Yes it's small but has hands on stuff for the kids and the officers are very nice. They shared police history with us and gave us a map for more fun things to do downtown.

My boys absolutely loved this place! Our tour guide was so kind and it was really cool to see and have him explain some of the different items and equipment that were in the museum. After our guide walked us around my boys got to sit in an old-school police car and on a bike, which was super cool.

The correct address for the museum is 17 South 2nd Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85003. Its on the south side of the Maricopa County Courthouse. If you are downtown, take the time to stop by and see the museum. The staff is friendly and loves chatting with the guests. The museum is set up well, including the first helicopter that PPD owned. I was fortunate enough to have gone on a day one of the first pilots who flew that helicopter was working. So many great stories about the amazing people who wore the Phoenix Police uniform.

Margaret Turner

Very entertaining.

NOT a safe place. Bewarned this is NOT a "GLSEN Safe Space", "HRC Safe Zone' or even an ally to the LGBT community. It's a small museum staffed entirely by retired police officers. We encountered retired officer Gary. He was very informative and personable. Unfortunately, a woman, either another staff member or merely a patron, came into the museum to swap stories on how disgusted she was about gays and how they are everywhere. The staff did nothing to deescalate her bigoted remarks, but instead complicity stood in agreement. My husband confronted her as we walked out and thanked Gary for his time.

Terry Ray

Super fun hands on learning. I'm pretty sure I had as much fun as my kids and grandchild. Many photo ops you will only find here. It's a great addition to any downtown adventure. An added bonus is it's very close to the light rail so you can enjoy the ride and not have to mess with traffic or parking

A well done overview of the Phoenix Police Department's history. The displays included several opportunities for young people to get into a Police Car and Motorcycle and other interactive activities. The museum also had a very nice gift shop with moderately prices souvenirs for both young and old.

I had a really great experience coming here for the first time! I'm very grateful that I could witness different pieces of history. My grandpa is a retired lieutenant who served the Phoenix police force, so it was nice to have him as well as my cousin there. Our tour guide, Tammy, was super nice and friendly, and she gave us a lot of good information and let us take a ton of pictures of different artifacts. Mike was also very accommodating towards my grandpa and kept him company, and I appreciated his help getting me in and out of the parking lot. My favorite part of my visit was seeing the old police cars, motorcycles and helicopter, as well as the official documents from the Miranda rights trial. The police memorial was really beautiful and the stained glass paintings were well done.

Wirklich sehr empfehlenswert!

Great place, it's a well kept museum. It demonstrates the history of law enforcement in Phoenix. You can learn where the Mirada rights originated. Perhaps the best thing about this museum is the staff. They were all awesome and friendly and welcoming. We had a great experience. Keep up the great work.

A Gem. Spent about 45mins here with the kids who loved being able to roleplay in the police car from the 80s, and try on police shirts. It's a small museum, admission by donation. There is a tribute to the fallen servicemen and women in 9/11. Souvenir selection. Parking is metered street parking right out front. The parking right in front seems to be for volunteer s only, plus there's no way to get in the lot without a security card. The museum have kids a little bag with a colouring book and sticker. Note there's an old location in a closed building so if your GPS is outdated like ours and leads you to that one, the current location is only a block away.

This museum was a bit smaller than I was expecting but every bit as enjoyable! The lady giving us the introduction to our self tour was very informative and friendly. I really enjoyed looking at all the displays and reading the historical information. My girls really enjoyed wearing official police shirts, playing with handcuffs, sitting on the motorcycle and playing in the police car with the lights going. My kids also really enjoyed the 9/11 tribute room where they could also see pictures and read accounts of the Phoenix Police Officers that died in the line of action.
