First time I've been to this place and it had an eerie and ethereal vibe as soon as I walked in. I like how everything was preserved and intact as possible to keep its historical authenticity. The people that works there are awesome and very respectful. The ghost tour at night is definitely worth experiencing. It's seems that the ghost there a very nice spirits and answered some of our questions.
Terrific experience! I saw figures and shadows when I did the ghost tour. This place is for real! All the cool history is really fun to learn about. At night is spooky!
The Bird Cage is what I really was interested in. I thought it was cool. We did a night time Ghost tour that was neat. I might of gotten some questioned ghostly encounters. Cool part of history.
This place was awesome the people were awesome it is fantastic
Loved this piece os history.
Amazing place. Well worth paying the extra money to see the back part of this building. So much history. Watch the movie Tombstone before you go and it makes it come even more to life. I loved how they pointed out all the bullet holes in the building.
You've got to see this. Everything in Tombstone AZ is well worth a visit.
Its great. You should go here and to the rest of the town. Its so awsome!
Beat must see location in the town of Tombstone it's the only true original structure sti standing well worth the 15$
Neat little Museum. Always take relatives here when they visit.
It was great nice people great tour
The place was awesome! Just the history alone is great but to still have all the actual artifacts is great. Known for being haunted and it did not disappoint!!!
As a local I can say this is a must see. Authenticy, great value. Downstairs ladies rooms were opened after 50+ and the owner said it was errie as it look like they just left. Clothing still laid on the bed like they left in a hurry.
Cool history with artifacts
My favorite place in the whole wide world. Great tour. A must see in Tombstone. Say hi to rattle snake Annie when you get there.
Me and my kids rode our bikes to the bird cage theater and I asked a worker if i could leave our bikes on the side for a little bit while we walked the strip and she asked the owner and we were told No. The reason was because, well, it's the bird cage theatre. The side of this establishment is all parking lot. No reason for them to say No! The owner is Very Rude and inconsiderate of other people.
This place is such an awesome little piece of American history! They have tons of memorabilia, a little gift shop area, and lots of knowledge to share with you. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Definately take a tour (preferably the haunted tour) All of the bullet holes are still in tact!! I hope you enjoy this place as much as I did. I CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK!!
On May 4th 2019 the guide was giving his speech and stopped twice to yell at my 3 year old. My 3 year old was acting like a typical 3 year old. Not kid friendly. We left and didn't give them any money and was very disappointed since we were excited to go on the tour.
Little overpriced for a short walk through, but interesting step into not so distant history
If you know nothing about the Bird Cage, definitely worth the stop and tour. If you are sensitive to the paranormal, you won't be disappointed.
A step back in time to the old west. Unrestored and almost untouched since the 1880s. It's almost as though the Earp brothers just left. Highly recommend you make this place a must see stop when you visit Tombstone.
My family did the after hours ghost tour and loved it. They want to go again!
Cool history, didn't have time to take the paid your, but will do it for sure next time.
For the admission price is well worth seeing something to do
An all over amazing experience. I went about 7 years ago and absolutely did not ever want to leave. I got a hoodie from here, and have worn it almost every day and it only just now wore out. The owners are so sweet they're letting me order and have one shipped to me because I am disabled now and unable to go back, but love the memories and hoodie so much and I'm so happy they'll help me out. Amazing all around! Great place and great people!
Was an amazing 2nd time that I had been there. It was so great and experienced the show was awesome to watch.
That was fun, a must-do in tombstone.
It was really great taking a step back in time. I love history of the American West and this was 1 of the best places ive been. I know it takes alot of money to keep these great places great but only gave 4 stars because of the high cost of the tour other than that it would have gotten 5 stars from me
Iv been here a few times. Love it every time. They give a military discount and since the first time I came they really cleaned it up. Still a little dusty but it adds to the creepiness. Ill deffinitly be back to do the ghost tour. I love the history of the bird cage its really like stepping back into the past. And of course every time iv gone the staff is anazing and answers any questions you may have.
Old and creepy! Awesome structure, good presentation of history facts. Very lovely ladies! Getting ready for the nightly ghost tour ooOooOoo.
I had a fantastic time there! Imagination and good humor with awesome friends was key. The atmosphere is suppose to be set in the 1800's not in the new Millennium. People who are griping need to stay home. It doesn't cost anything to walk around and look at things, but if you want to do or see any of the events it does cost and that's what keeps the town going.
A great piece of the old west preserved as it originally was in the 1880s. The hosts are very knowledgeable about the buildings history. The self guided tour is great as well! If you're lucky you may see a ghost! But dont try to hide under the hearse wagon like Zak made Aaron in ghost adventures. Theres cool stuff to be bought at the bar as well, like old locks and coinage to trade for a bath, booze, and the company of a woman! :D
Awesome original building! Well worth the fee to see behind the curtain
I literally can't wait to go visit this place again! This one stop was worth the entire trip! Seeing where Doc and Wyatt spent some of there most significant time was awesome!!!!
We have been to Tombstone at least twice a year for several years At that time I would have given it 4.7 Stars as we thoroughly enjoyed it However, last year we drove there with guests and discovered we now had to pay to enter Boot Hill Cemetary. Upon entering the graveyard graves were not always in the same spot and/or had Markers with different names and sayings on them. I had the previous photos of the graves and we compared the photos Nothing like evidence to back it up! Extremely disappointed and will never return. Our guests were not impressed either. We also visited the Bird Cage Theater, another place we always enjoyed. I wonder whose ghost Jason is..... as he never shook a sign previously Big let down. Never again!
Fantastic stroll into the past! The staff was extremely friendly and considering it's age, the owners have managed to keep it in good shape while leaving cool little details untouched (i.e. bullet holes in ceiling, etc.) A little on the pricey side in my opinion but for a western history enthusiast like myself, it was worth it.
Awesome place full of history .lots of old items admission is reasonable place is full of ghostly activity caught an apparition in the black Moriah hearse and someone tapped my shoulder at the stage area
One of several, well preserved historical buildings in historical Tombstone, AZ. I must say that I was disappointed by this museum. Several historical artifacts are thrown together with some cheap props. Tours are "self guided", meaning you can walk through the place at your own pace. Of course, a large part of the historical building was turned into, you guessed it, a gift shop. To me, the experience wasn't worth the $14 admission fee. Like all other buildings, sites on Allen Street there is no on site parking. Allen Street is closed to vehicles. You have to park a block or two away and then walk to Allen Street.
Beyond outstanding! Live music, purchased a new purse for the wife in the shaft which is a subterranean gift shop. Oh and you have to try the corn nuggets
Man is this place a piece of living history. Lots of cool things to view on the self guided tour, and all period correct and genuine. If you only know of the theater from the movie, check it out in person. It will give you a whole new appreciation of how tempers could boil back in the day.
Historical place, really worth a visit
$14 is a bit steep for what you get but its certainly an interesting part of history.
Totally Tombstone. A bit wacky, a little cheesy, but all in good fun. You need to do the ghost tour to get the full experience. You get a guided tour with history of the building and then time in the dark to contact any lingering spirits. We had a great time with it.
So historic and so many cool stories.
What a blast. Knowledgeable hosts and displays are great. Hoping to find some ghosties in pictures
It is haunted! You can walk in and they will explain the history of the building, which is fascinating, whether you spend money or not. The staff even showed some ghost pictures to our kids.
This was a very fun experience and our kids had fun.
Had an absolute blast at this place! You can’t skip this one, the tour guide is awesome and clearly a huge history buff. I won’t reveal any spoilers but the stories and the things you’ll see in this place will blow your mind. This was my favorite place we visited when we were in tombstone and I’m not even into the whole ghost thing but the things that went down in the bird cage are just so fascinating. I really loved it, it’s worth every penny.
This is the most authentic museum ever. You walk through the 1800's as it was. This was the best of Tombstone.
This place was fascinating. It was like taking a step back in time. It was very interesting to see artifacts and learn the history of Tombstone and the Birdcage Theater. Very insightful. I only have a few pics on my phone because I used my camera for the majority, but for some weird reason my camera malfunctioned in the girl's rooms. Even after replacing my battery. So my only option was my phone. (Worked fine after leaving the room)
Probably the best place to go If you want history.bullet holes still seen on bar and walls.everything is almost original.must see if you're on a short trip
Ghosts! Went into the theatre and was definitely a neat thing to see, worth the extra cost.
Very old building..fun to just look around. My husband did catch some orbs
Awesome place brings you back to the old western days
I love tombstone its a great place to go on holidays or when your free awesome shows and food
This is a really cool museum to check out. The price of admission was a bit ridiculous though. I could go to the OK corral show for less. It cost $14 a person to get into the museumand only $10 a person for the gunfight show. Not worth the price.
One of the best museums to see in tombstone!
If you decide to go to the Bird Cage Theater (and I sincerely hope you do) be sure and take the self guided tour. You will be stepping back in time to 1880! Amazing!!
Amazing place to stop in to. A little pricey but the history is bar none the best in town. To think about the history behind this place, no wonder it’s supposed to be the most haunted place in Tombstone. Check out the original hurst carriage!!
It's great coming and learning about all the different "services" that was offer in the old west! A lot of great information on the history of this building specifically. The guide are also very knowledgeable.
Neat place, a lot to see.
The Bird Cage is the only original bldg left still intact. Has some cool historical artifacts in the museum area.
Amazing experience, to step into a really old wild west building that is still standing. The history is remarkable. Being that one of my all time favorite wildwest movies is tombstone. Really wanted to see some ghosts but we didnt have time to stay for the night tour.
The people that work there are very nice and knowledgeable about the history or the establishment.
Loved the place and the history. Really felt like a historical place. It’s pretty rare in the us as they like to market everything. This place has real history. Thank you for saving it.
Really neat historical artifacts in cool setting but needs some serious restoration and cleaning
Definitely recommend checking this out, so much history here! The self guided tour is available at a very reasonable price, they offer military discounts. Not the best for kids, depending on their age anyhow. Strollers are not able to go through (but you can store it inside while walking through) and there's not a lot of hands on opportunity for the littles. So much remains untouched, it's truly a unique experience. Even if you don't pay to do the tour, pop in and check it out, there's a lot to see even in the main room and the staff do an enthusiastic and informative presentation.
You can see bullet holes from over 100 years ago! You can't see a whole lot else with out paying which was a bummer.
It is an incredible piece of history for tombstone. I would definitely recommend catching the presentation. We did not have time to go through the museum part but I hear that it is pretty good
My BF went to this as it didn't seem interesting enough for me. He came out saying it was just so/so. The OK Corral was the best!
Cool historical artifacts and place seemed bigger in ghost hunters by is piece of the old west enjoyed my time their.
Interesting displays packed into a small amount of space.
Love love the old West
Its the only historic buildings that is left, unrefurbished, or rebuilt!
I've never been to somewhere that had it's history so preserve. I'm a little disappointed I didn't get to see the whole town, (because I got there at 5pm), but I would definitely come back here and explore around some more. But anyhow we did get to do the whole guided tour with the ghost EMF reading at the end of the tour. It was really fun, and scary. I think you really get bang for your buck here. It's amazing how well preserved they've kept it, it's like walking through a time capsule.
An absolute must-see if you visit Tombstone. Especially the basement where the longest running poker game made history - 8 years, 5 months, 3 days starting in 1881. The self-guided tour is remarkable. Unchanged, untouched.
Great history and very nice staff!
So much fun if you pay attention to the history here. Great photos and relics of that era ♡
Enjoyed ghost tour.
Love the history on this building! A lot of old performers were on the stage here! Poker was played in the basement! The longest poker game lasted 8years here!
Our ghost tour was so much fun, our great hostess made sure we all had a blast. What an amazing story the Birdcage has, rich history with a gritty twist.
Always dreamed of getting to visit this place. What a great way to instantly be sent back in time. Worth the couple bucks to take the self guided tour. Tombstone must see.
This was a blast on Halloween night... But any time is great for a haunt tour!
I have been wanting to go there for many years. It was everything I wanted it to be and then some. The staff was wonderful and answered every question that was ask. Tombstone Arizona is a place where you will not have a boring minutes at all . I will be back one day.
Just saw the front room and listened to some intriguing stories from the curators.
Had a blast start early lots of things to do and see
Fascinating historical site. Like stepping back into history of the wild west.
Enjoyed the ghost tour. An hour was dedicated to telling the history of the theatre/brothel. The other 45 minutes was spent sitting in the dark with our guide trying to speak to spirits that wander the old building.
Way cool place to see. If in the area it is a must see for history buffs.
Lots to see but a little overpriced. Would be better with a guide to point out things of interest.
Great place to visit the wild West.
Great trip back in time. Worth it
Cool place. Wish I could share some pictures with you but the establishment has a sign with a no tolerance picture policy it says there. It’s a quick little walk through and there is some neat stuff. Is it worth what they charge???? I wouldn’t go again but it’s a cool one and done place.
If you like wild west history then tombstone is the place to visit....the bird cage has great history and hauntings...love it...plan on going back..
I love this place, so much history.
Loved visiting Tombstone loved visiting The Birdcage! Take a lot of pictures!
The only original building still standing in tombstone.everything so original. A must see
Super cool. An amazing glimpse back into the old west. One of the 4 remaining bldgs that have been left untouched except for the addition of heat, air and electric. Famously haunted by 16 ghosts. One I can mark off my bucket list. Condesa
Amazing experience at this location. Great artifacts and very well preserved. I love how the tapestries in the upstairs little rooms are still there. So many interesting energies and vibes. I felt a strange heaviness and tingly sensation at the top of the stairs leading to backstage. I also felt a wobbly kinda dizzy sensation while in the basement. Saw a few flashes of what could have been orbs.
Fun, took the ghost tour w/Karen. Was a good time.
Cool place. But it costs $14 to see it all & 14 minutes to tour it all. In the words of ike clanton in the movie " I'm the one who was cheated"
Wonderful Ghost Tour. The Blue Eyed cowboy is sure a sweet (and handsome) man. Cool tiny blue orb in my picture
It was definitely cool to see the historical theater, but I did have 2 issues on the ghost tour, First off it's a adult only tour,9pm as we were signing in, some people came inn and wanted to do the tour, they had a 14year oldboy, and the lady that gives the tour knew this and they still let him on the tour, the people were really dunk and loud like very loud, they were talking loud the whole time, if they are gonna stick to rules that we have to sign they need to follow the rules.
Definitely a must-see when you're in Tombstone. Staff is so friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Gift shop is open to the public, but you need to pay to go inside the theater. Totally worth it to see this amazing slice of Amaricana! Wish we could have stayed longer so we could do the ghost tour. All photos are of the front, gift shop area. You can take pics inside the theater but those are for personal use only.
Was very interesting but not to much happened.
Awesome experience! A must see if you visit Tombstone.
The history story as you come in is great. Especially pointing out the gun shot holes from long ago. Wanted to tour the whole theater, but the price seemed too high.
The best historic stop in Tombstone. Most of it is original and well worth the 12 dollar entrance fee for the self guided tour.
Is a great experience I’m glad I was able to stop here
Awesome place & people! The history is amazing. I wish the ghost hunt group was a little smaller, but still an awesome experience & an awesome piece of history. Tour gives detailed history of building, people & artifacts. All original, even the posters on the wall!! I'll be going back
Great haunted historical landmark in Tombstone. Great tour guide and tells you all about the buildings history.
Did the Paranormal Tour last night. Recommend it highly, especially if you are a Tombstone fan.
Awesome place. Love the historical value and the food. Great place to visit.
Fun place, good information, one of the major stops in tombstone
Definitely worth visiting in Tombstone. Fascinating history & displays & costumed story tellers.
Very historic. Worth checking out. We went to the haunted tour. We didn't sence any spirits but others in the group did. A little creepy but fun.
Great place to visit if you are in Tombstone. Lots of history and we had lots of fun. I just didn't like that fact that you are not allowed to share picture you take in the facility but I guess i understand. We had a great time.
Wow! The history here is awesome! To step back in time was surreal! I would love to visit again! The whole town of Tombstone AZ was simply like stepping back in time! We also went into Big Nose Kate's, The OK Coral, the Town Hall and was able to experience so much. We would definitely be back! Ps.. make sure you have lots of water! It's HOT there.. food is expensive there as well as most of the souvenirs.
Fun experience! The history of the building is phenomenal and the artifacts they have paint a great picture of that time in history. They kept some of the more inappropriate pictures higher up where kids are not as likely to see them. The size of the place is astounding as most of the buildings you see at the historical sites are much smaller in comparison. I thought it was definitely worth the entry fee. Lots to see!
If I could live there....I WOULD! Thos place is awesome.
Neat but not worth as much as was charged. Quick walk though, not enough signage as to what everything was.
A lot history. The admission was a fair price. Lot to see
Wonderful attraction with staff that are friendly and knowledgeable about history
Spend the money and do the tour! One of my most favorite locations of our month long vacation.
Cool but not worth the money you pay $14 a person to look through 3 rooms, unguided. For that price someone should be taking me around pointing everything out. Plus the gift shop is outrageously priced!
Awesome place!!! Planning to go again ..so much to see n do... Stepped into the past...
Interesting bit of history of the city of Tombstone. This building was preserved and is original to the 1880s.
This is really a great place to visit. Many artifacts and pictures. I did a self guided walk through the area. I took a number of photographs hoping to capture something scary... nothing! Your mileage may vary! This last trip was my second time and it was just as interesting as my first. Some interesting souvenirs at the end on your way out. Each time has been during Memorial Day weekend over Wyatt Erp weekend.
Great place. Looking forward to coming back.
Pretty cool. Was Interesting
This old time theater is great in many ways its a must see .
Knowing the history here, I was super excited to walk around this place! Sadly, I didn't really feel anything or get any exciting pictures. But I do know I will be back for the Haunted Tour in the future! My poor mother watched the Ghost Adventures episode and said she wouldn't have gone in if she'd seen that first!! Ha ha! Love it!!
This place was amazing!! Must stay for the "Nightly Ghost Tour"
This was a great walk back in to history.. We took the tour and it was great!!.. Thank y'all for preserving our past..
Loved it. Great place to come visit and see history
The Bird Cage Theatre in Tombstone is a historic landmark. Lots of history in that building, including the longest poker game in history. It lasted for 8 years, from 1881 to 1889. It is also said to be haunted, you can visit on Halloween for the ghost hunt. You pay the nominal entrance fee, and get to spend most of the night looking for and waiting on the ghosts.
A true gem of the old west. Worth the walk through to see all the antique items.
A little pricey for a self guided tour, but the folks up front seemed inviting and knowledgeable.
Took the self-guided tour. It was like walking through somebody's dusty old attic with hundreds of years of junk. There isn't anything worth seeing except photographs and items available at any flea market. Of course, you exit through the gift shop. Save the $13 and buy yourself an ice cream instead.
Been there several times. Very interesting
Very much in its original state which made it enjoyable to see. ...especially if you saw the movie .
The best place to visit inTombstone.... one of the tour guides heard me talking about how my daughter likes the ghost shows and took us in three back area where the ghost tour begins and started talking to a young child spirit named joshy... they figured his spirit traveled underneath the carriage with his body. When he spoke to joshy he had him move the morticians table hanging above the carriage. Both my husband and I both seen it rock back and forth and the gentlemen was standing right next to us..... the bird cage theater is one of the most haunted places in the USA. We went down stairs to the poker room where Wyatt Earp, Doc Holiday and the gang hung out. It was very chill.... love the old West.
So awesome, great birthday trip
It's an amazing place to visit, must see. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The ghost tour is also something that I would highly suggest, however they so have a age requirement.
This is an amazing piece of American history... The only place in Tombstone that is still Untouched by remodeling. Everything else has been ravished at one time or another by fire. The inside looks as it did back when the birdcage closed in 1889, I believe it was. The self-guided tour was informative and really amazing. They have artifacts from that era of Tombstone, as well as interesting artifacts from the time period & beyond. This is a Tombstone Arizona don't miss!
Still has original furniture inside...looks like they just locked the doors and walked away....then years later just opened up again ! Little spooky inside in some areas.
Very cool place; Tombstone was a fun side trip in Sierra Vista.
Although historic, it is dirty and not maintained. Truly disappointing after you pay the entrance fee
Very interesting. Lots of memorabilia. Takes you back in time.
This was the first place we went while here in Tombstone, Arizona. It's not real expensive for the self guided tour. Really worth it to see the old artifacts from the old western days of Tombstone. We didn't see any ghosts (lol) but we really didn't expect too. It was a lot of fun.
When in Tombstone take time tour both the Bird Cage Theater, the Earp's stomping grounds and to sit under the World's Largest Rose Bush. The Ground Rose is protected by the surrounding buildings and is over 100 years old! But don't miss the reenactment of the Shootout at the OK Corral.
I love the birdcage theater
This place is truly haunted. Don't believe me?Go down to card room downstairs-dare ya!?
The real deal. The only building in town left untouched through time. Engaging, real-life stories of the most infamous makes in American Western history. So cool...
Gorgeous place so much history it's a lot to take in.
Very cool place, wife and I loved our visit. Look forward to going back and recommend it to many friends and family, and a few strangers!
Very much worth checking out. The artifacts and history are amazing. The staff is knowledgeable and ready to answer any questions. We visit every time we are in Arizona and always learn something new.
A beautiful building steeped in history wether you believe in spirit's or a lover of history the bird cage theatre is sure to offer a plesant experience of days that have past with amazing staff and a fantastic gift shop offering loads of fantastic gifts and souvenirs to remember your visit the staff have extensive knowledge of the building and there is enough energy within the building to make you believe in the spirit's that still roam the theatre to this very day. I enjoyed every minute of my visit to the theatre with a very distinctive feeling of presence all arround however I would recommend caution when entering and leaving the building to ensure you do not invite any unwanted spirits home with you wether you believe or not its always better to error on the side of caution.
