I visited this place in the last week of May, and the Museum was closed - I am not sure if they close it every summer, or if they are undergoing some maintenance activities and so they have closed the Museum. Nothing was clearly mentioned over there. But, I really liked the surroundings g area of Old Town Scottsdale and was grateful for making a decision to visit the place.

Interesting facts to learn, there was a gentleman and a lady that were knowledgeable and explaining some fun facts on Scottsdale. Nice for some quick historical facts...it doesn't take long at all. Specially for kids that get bored or have a short attention span.

I grew up in Scottsdale so when I was a kid, this building was a library. Scottsdale has done a nice job of turning it into a museum. It doesn't take to long to go through it and well worth the time to see the history of the area.

I believe The Scottsdale historical museum is a must see while visiting old town Scottsdale. Admission is free, although they take a donation. There is a documentary of the Roosevelt dam, and lots of pictures with explanations of the evolution of the building from school to city building to a museum preserved by the historical society.

The Scottsdale Historical Museum is actually a schoolhouse from the area when it was first settled. They have lots of photographs and small displays which are all really neat. It's a very small Museum but it's free and it's definitely worth taking a stroll around inside for a half an hour. The man who was working at the front door, his grandparent actually attended that school which was really neat so he had a lot of historical information to share. It's an easy location between Old Town Scottsdale and the famous Robert Indiana LOVE sculpture.

I was excited to check this place out. I checked the website and reviews that said it was open but when I got there a sign in the window said it was closed till September. Very disappointed!

This little museum takes just a few minutes to walk through but it is time well spent. The friendly volunteers who work inside are more than willing to explain the exhibit and photos. The museum talks about how it all began in Scottsdale and the staff are more than ready to suggest other places to visit.

The former Little Red Schoolhouse has a patchwork past that's a fascinating story in itself. It started as a school in 1896 and over the years was used as a church, Town Hall and the County Court Office, city library, and was almost torn down in 1968. The museum has permanent exhibits telling the early history of Scottsdale.

Scottsdale Historical Museum was interesting. Alice was very informative. After the tour we walked around for some shopping and lunch. We came back to the car to find a parking ticket. Great!!! Scottsdale knows how to treat a visitor. $40.45 Thanks Scottsdale I won't be back anytime soon. Brent Boise, ID
