You have the feddbacks of real people like you who purchase the products and services of Meteor Crater Visitor Center (Museum) in the state of Arizona.
At the moment this firm has a rating of 4.5 stars out of 5 and this score has been based on 1479 reviews.
You may have noticed that its rating is almost the top, and it's based on a very large number of feddbacks, so we can think that the valuation is quite accurate. If people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well with the service, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to set tatings when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Museum is classified in the category of Museum.
The crater is awesome! The little museum visitor center is cool. Very informative! Fun interactive center. This is a worthy stop for families on road trips.
Very unique experience. Definitely a tourist trap, but pretty well done. Nice museum. Perfect for kids interested in space!
Well worth the trip. Our guide was extremely informative and knowledgeable. Must see if ur in the area.
Great place to take your kids for learning experience on how the planet works
An interesting place to visit. The crater is a quite an awesome sight and absolutely huge.
This was something very different for the family to experience on our road trip. The free tour was great (we tipped him) and the gift shop is outstanding. The tour goes out along the rim and comes back. No tours allowed to the bottom we were told. The entrance fee is high but I believe this is because the site is family owned and not state run.
It was pretty cool to see the giant hole finally. Nice place they have built there. We liked the museum but wish you could hike around it without guide. If you dont do guided tour you cant really do much around it. Also, we all thought 18$ is a bit much.
The crater looks amazing and the history of it is great! The employees were very rude, the elevator lost lights while I was riding in it (the employee response was that should not happen...), Two of the main displays has screens that were not working and upon waiting an hour for a tour of the creator since it had been raining I was told there would be no more tours "today" at 330pm. Again, an amazing site worth seeing. It just is run by idiots.
Awesome view if you take the 1/4 mile crater rim walking tour. If military ask for discount and tickets are 1/2 price. Well worth the money
Love coming here this time with my two girls. Museum upgraded very nice.
This place is really interesting if space rocks are your thing. The staff is friendly and informative. Don't take small children on the guided tour. They will get bored looking at the crater and will stray off trail looking for the poisonous snakes to hit with a rock.
Was fun, not sure if it's worth the $$ though.
I wish I could rate this 0. It was literally 18 dollars PER adult. Online it says NATIONAL monument and it family owned.
Fascinating Landmark. Exhibitions in the visitor centre are very informative, and great for kids
So very interesting and seemingly full of research to back up their point of view. Crater is beautiful.
Fun stop along the road. We loved the museum.
Kinda expensive but cool looking. The museum inside was very cool and my wife and son loved the gift shop.
Really cool piece of American history. We did about all there is to do except the guided tour and felt like we got our money's worth in 90 minutes or so.
It was really cool learning about the meteor crater and seeing the museum. There is also a small gift shop. As a student, the price was a little pricey but overall it was interesting experience.
Well worth the stop. Kept 4 teens entertain for 2.5 hours. Everyone learnt something different.
2nd time here with my husband. Brought son and nephew today. Did the guided tour today and the tour guide, Luke, was fun and informative. Definitely worth the visit.
The 4D experience does not talk too much about the meteor crater and it's impact. The museum will have more details.
Very educational free tour. New food court was excellent too. Not very far off the interstate.
always have wanted to see this in person and finally got to do it today with my nephew...way to cool!!
Well worth seeing. Very amazing.
A neat place, interesting information. Sure is big
Very interesting for a homeschooling mom, great education. The thing that took the 4 star to 3 star is the tour guide could have used a belt. I don't want to nor do my children want to see his underware.
Loved it beautiful place very informative, food, huge gift shop would definitely come back
Amazing place to see a crater of this size. Good price and very educational
Incredible story portrayed in a modern visitors center. Friendly staff and quality displays. The crater is GIGANTIC. Worth the price of admission
We weren't planning on stopping but needed a bathroom break. This was a great stop just a few miles off the hwy. Free for active military and discount for veterans. There is a shaded kennel to put your pup in so you don't have to leave them in the car. We did not do the tour because we were short on time, but the crater itself is pretty spectacular.
I've seen a crater or two around the Mojave Desert but this one is by far the biggest! Very cool place to visit with a souvenir store inside. Sweet walkthrough with information about the site and other space related stuff. Not far off the main highway and really enjoyed my visit. No pets allowed but the sign said they offered an alternative for them. Didn't look too much into it though.
Meteor crater is very interesting, they sell food that an astronaut wold eat . They also trained the astronats for the movie Apollo 13 because the surface is like the moon. The staff is friendly. This is an interesting place to go!
I really enjoyed the historical and geological aspects of this place.
SPECTACULAR VIEW OF natural phenomenon & great short side trip off of I-40 , $18 entry, seniors $16 for extra $ you can see some special movie besides the short 10 movie included with admission. Best part. FREE DOG KENNEL!!!!
Easy to access. Very well kept. Great guide Jake!
Awesome in the truest sense of the word. The whole visitors center is extremely worth the visit! I wish I had the time to plan to go on one of the offered trips into the Crater itself.
Was well worth the stop, but not for real young ones...and some walking involved.
Amazing and must see! The con is the adult admission is 18 dollars.
Stopped thinking it was a tourist trap type place. But actually turned out to be pretty cool. Interesting history connected to lunar exploration
Great spot to visit. They have a wonderful museum with lots of interactive activities for kids. There are several sets of stairs but 2 elevators as well. You can view the Crater from inside or walk out on several levels to view it outside. There is a guided tour, a movie, and a 3D interactive ride. It is 6 miles off Interstate 40 and worth a visit.
Cool, educational road-side attraction. VERY professional presentation. Movie about the crater and history of research. Discovery center, guided tours if desired or explore on your own. Signs, videos, audio explains each display. Subway restaurant and gift shop, clean restrooms. We'll maintained.
It was fantastic. The guide we had was very knowledgeable and explained everything in a very interesting way.
This stop is so easy from I40 and so very worth it! Especially if you have kids. It’s reasonably priced, very accessible and so fun. Once you see the size of the meteor vs the full crater you’ll get it! Must do if you’re driving in the I40.
Amazing experience! The museum provided interesting facts about meteors and stories of human experiences. Viewing the crater in person was mind blowing.
Really amazing thing to see... definitely a short stop but to actually see the crater and walk through the museum was a fantastic way to spend an hour off the beaten path!
Took the guided tour and it was very knowledgeable and interesting. My daughter and I were amazed at this landmark. The walk around was breath taking. Inside the museum is well thought out and informative. The gift shop is great a d the bathrooms were clean and stocked. Wonderful stop on our road trip!
Descent views of the Crater. Best part was that they have 4 Dog Kennel’s for you pups, they are not allowed onto the actual crater. Free of charge for the Kennel!
Great staff. Superb viewing walkway. Wish we could enter the creator. Has a IMAX movie geared twords kids. Lots of learning in the welcome center as well as a gift shop with Indian art and more books
I TSNC been a while since my last visit here. Then it was a dream to have a Educational Center built. I am happy to say the dream is a wonderful reality that adds another dimension to what many believe is "just a big hole". It really is much more.
Let's get real here...it's a dent in the ground caused by a big rock hitting it. Translation...OVER PRICED TOURIST TRAP! $10 entry fee before tacking on extras. Google Earth it and save your time and money for the surrounding National Parks that are worth the time and money.
A fun place to visit. It's a shame you can't actually hike into the crater but they have an informational movie and a museum. For an extra $5 they have a 4D theater with an amusing trip to an asteroid belt that's geared towards children. There is a free tour along the crater's edge too.
Great facility. Very informative guides.
The visitor centre was very small and not set up for young children, it was very expensive for what you got. P
This place has great natural and artificial history. The museum is surprisingly big and modern.
Really awesome ! All I have to say is you gotta go see & learn the history.
Great place to learn things about our planet you never knew
There is a lot of history here and it is presented very professionally.
Lots of great things to do here! The staff is always very friendly. I've been bringing groups of students for years, and have never been disappointed.
Good place in a large nowhere. The visitor center is however well designed. The color matches well with environment. The big window-like opening is terrific.
Very beautiful and peaceful place. Around 5pm was the best time for pictures. The lighting is perfect
Pictures cannot do justice to this place. You have to come and see it for yourself to truly appreciate how immensely huge the crater is. Beware that it gets extremely windy here (we went in April). It has a great science exhibit and gift shop. They offer 60-minute guided tours. There is a Subway Sandwich restaurant on premises. Indeed a must-see attraction in Arizona. It's more than just a "hole in the ground". There is a great deal of science and history here. It's a little pricey but it is worth it! This is privately owned and thus is not part of the US National Park Service.
This is another one of those places that a photo will just not do it justice. If you are going to Arizona it's a Must See! It's MASSIVE and really well preserved. A Highly recommended day trip.
Definitely worth the time to stop and experience. Great museum. Skip the extra movie.
Very educational. Great place to learn some science of meteors.
Very informative fun place on our cross country RV vacation
$18 gets you an up close view of the Crater plus everything you could want to learn about meteors in general. It has a nostalgic feel and is well maintained.
Very cool experience. This crater is HUGE. There is an indoor gift shop and museum/educational area. I recommend the 4D movie for children. The movie is geared towards kids/teens. It's still fun to sit through, but kind of expensive. All indoor areas are wheelchair accessible. The outside area around the crater is not. There are several different viewing places. Keep small children close. There are lots of steps. There is also a lot of wind. Be sure to check out the lower viewing area to get a close-up view of the middle of the crater with viewing telescopes. There are tours but I did not go on one.
Very good visitors centre. You can buy souvenirs, have a snack there. I had never seen a meteor crater before and this was very impressive. This place was also very informative and somewhat interactive. All about meteors.
Just awesome!! Been wanting to see this place since I saw it in some book as a kid. The fee was well worth seeing this one-of-a-kind place in person! Plus, the staff were all really friendly, and the guy staffing the museum was really an expert on the site and meteorites in general. Very glad I went.
Such an awesome place. Way cooler than we all expected. The meteor crater is pretty spectacular. Nice gift shop. Plenty to learn and see.
Movie was a little disappointing. Thought it could have had more actual information. The rest of the museum was excellent. The crater was astounding. The "ride" was predictable but fun none the less. Great for younger folk. Nice gift shop and decent cafe.
So cool. 50 thousand years ago a meterior smashed into the surface causing this crater. Great experience, knowledgeable staff and big gift shop. If you are driving within 50miles you should swing by
Wonderful visitor center. Mindblowing views of the crater.
Awesome kids learning center, neat theater showing the history of the crater, and the view. So amazing
Very cool and informative exhibit! The guided tour and displays inside gave so much information. The extra 4D experience wasn't really worth the $4.00 per person. It might be fun for really little kids. It was the only disapointing part.
What a great experience, visitor centre is a great galleries with interactive, interesting and very educational presentations. There is a nice theater with great quality movie about the origins of the galaxy and meteors. The actual crater shows to us how actually fragile and small we humans are.
Really cool experience. It’s crazy expensive to get in, but they have great military discounts. Very informative and entertaining, but it seemed like many of the attractions in the museum portion were not working or very outdated. The crater itself does not disappoint. Simply amazing.
If you happen to be passing take the time to enjoy the scenery
Way cool very informative. Self guided tour. The gift shop is awesome.
Great place to learn about the crater. The short, 10 minute movie is a great way to introduce the crate prior to going out and seeing it for yourself. The museum is also a great way to learn about other impacts around the globe.
Very awesome place to visit. We had an amazing morning.
This sight has a lot of interesting information. This was our first visit here. It was very enjoyable.
Took the family on our way through AZ and my son loved it. Seeing the crater was a trip. The gift shop was full of neat pieces and was super affordable.
Breath taking view. Must stop if your going through the area. It not far off I-40.
It's got the Wow! Factor... Such a great historical place!
Well, it is the Crater. The displays and gift shop were wonderful. The facility is excellent.
Historical place good for kids and adults. I enjoyed sitting and starring to the hole ))
Awesome place to visit. Quite pricey (18 dollars/person) but it goes to preserve the crater. Worth the stop
Fantastic, knowledgeable staff. Well placed observation points with telescopes to see down into the crater. Scale references help put the immense size into relatable terms.
Very nice sceneries. Enter costs 18$ for adult, but it is good value for this trip. Near is a gas station with very low price...
Little known treasure. Very interesting bit of natural history. Very nice visitor center. Detailed guided tours by people who love their work. Place is very well thought out and more engaging and informative than I thought it would be. Highly recommend for a family. Very clean facilities and a terrific gift shop.
Wonderful place. Very interesting and educational. I highly recommend this place.
Absolutely gorgeous. Guided tour is worth the wait. Definitely worth the money. 4d tour is kind of for smaller kids. But yeah. Nothing else to say
Such a historic place to be! Would definitely recommend putting this on your bucket list.
The history of how the meteor strike site was developed by the individuals involved was just as interesting as the meteor strike itself...basically it is the birthplace of the science of meteors in the universe. Awesome experience. Highly recommend. Military Veteran and senior friendly....thanks for that...
Well worth the drive out to this remote location. Great facilities. It is definitely an out of this world feeling. Virtually unchanged for 50K years.
Amazing worth every penny. The interacting museum was so kid fairly. Gift shop was great. The best part was the crater itself. Very family friendly...staff was amazing and well informed
Nice stop with some great geology and exhibits. Privately owned. A little pricey but nicely done. Plenty of trailer/RV parking in the lower parking lot. We stayed at their very decent RV Park for one night and received $2 coupon for the exhibits.
Nice trip cool to see. Bring some magnets and find some meteor dust, this is a lizard. Cost sucked just as much as bigger hole Grand Canyon. But enjoyed.
There are lots odd beautiful pricey items. The once thing i wanted, a simple bandana with the crator on it, they don't have. They do have bandanas if route 66, but that's not what i needed from the gift shop. It's nice to do window shopping though.
Nice distraction from a long drive to Las Vegas. the cost was surprisingly high given this is a national landmark. I assume there is some funding from public sources so I expect a little lower price. I was supposed to learn of the history with the space program and I found this part exciting. I recommend the longer guided tour and that is given every hour.
Beautiful experience for my kids. Very impressive. We been there when the kids were little, but when they get older, they get another type of excitement and understanding.
Facilities and staff are great. Fantastic place for young astrogeologists and photographic opportunities. Combined with a trip to Winslow and you have a great day trip leaving from Flagstaff. Do have lunch or dinner in the Turquoise room at the La Mariposa hotel.
Great place to stop on a long drive through Arizona. There's a small museum, short movie, a restaurant and a lookout. Adults $18. A "ride" for $5. Oh, yes...a gift shop. A very unique opportunity.
This was way more than I was expecting of a road side attraction! It was a wonderful stop on our trip! Luckily we weren't in a big rush and we were able to take our time and check it all out. Well done!
Spectacular view of how immense nature can be. Its impact 20,000 years ago must have wiped out mist forms of life in its vicinity. The dry weather without winds has preserved the original impact crater extremely well. Its definitely worth the ride out. They have a movie theater, bathrooms and food available too.
Super interesting. So we went to check it out. Short drive off freeway it was totally worth going to check out. Will never see anything like it anywhere else. Nice buildings and gitf shop and friendly staff. Go check it out if your going by there. Sure wish I could have used my drone there.
Pretty impressive. We visited later in the day... Not to busy, not too hot, and the skies were better in photos.
Just great, our guide was very informative, the rocket ride was fun
This was interesting to visit, kind of pricey 18 just to walk in the door (they do have a triple A and military discount). Gift shop was dangerous hahaha. If you have kids, the 4d movie is fun. The tour is an hour with a mile walk, but there is a do it yourself area also.
Had a good time and seen the crater, something I always wanted to see. They had a short film to see as well. Go and see this if you can.
This place is $18 per person to see a fairly tame hole in the ground. The museum was OK, but unless you're really really into meteors, keep driving.
Great place to visit and shop in the gift center. Very interesting and informative displays for all to see . Very clean and well ordered building. Recommended to all.
Nice guided tour by Jake, lots of information. Spectacular views of crater. Movie left us hanging, probably best to see it first. The space ride was a hoot, high point of experience . We would go back.
Very interesting. Lots of walking. Better inside than outside.
I don't understand how a company can "own" and make money off of something that WAS MADE BY A METEOR! When we stopped many years ago, you could walk right up and see the crater. Now you've gotta pay $15 just to enter the damn place. There are plenty of photos on Google, I'd recommend doing that instead of wasting your money.
Wish I could really rate the entire area but they were having technical difficulties and I didnt feel like stand in the long line waiting. That said. It was very clean and employees pleasant
Great family adventure. Kids loved the new 4D exhibit. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Nice visitor center , but $28 for a t-shirt that's absolutely shameless . I know the place is a cash cow charging $18 for the entrance , but you have to know when to stop .
Visited many, many years ago and it was not nearly so nice. Newly remodeled center with theater, large, well-stocked gift shop, and some activities still opening in the near future, as in by summer. Staff was super helpful with finding and returning a stuffed bunny that went exploring on his own (silly rabbit!). If you have never been, or not recently, it's worth the stop.
Amazing place to visit . you can go from top to bottom via steps but easy to navigate.
Bucket list item. It was even more glorious than expected. Visitor center is very modern and super clean. Go see it.
Another one of the places you have to visit. The visitor center is fantastic with a ride, a 10 minute movie on the creation of the crater and a nice cozy restaurant , our tour guide was excellent and the upper and lower lookouts are worth the trip. So glad we went.
Awesome place! Great 4D theater experience
Was an unexpected visit while in the south-west... very entertaining
The visit was "the bomb", the ultimate bomb. The "hole," big hole experience was truly awesome. Lots of history and explanation of meteor impacts.
I really enjoyed myself here. There is a nice museum with great information that most people never think about when it comes to meteors. Tour was full of neat facts. 4d movie was ok but not the best. Probably more interesting to younger kids. For $5 a person, your call
Talk about giving you some perspective. Its so much more than a hole in the ground. A movie that explains how it happened. Another movie that lets you feel what it might of felt like. Plus guided tours or you can walk a route by yourself. There is also an interactive museum. Worth the trip.
I really like the interaction inside the exhibit area. Also if it is a late when arriving ask the front desk people for a next day discounted trip.
This was fun and spontaneous. Surprised about the 18 per person cost, but the Interactive learning museum was really cool. The crater was cool for about 10 seconds, but overall it was a fun learning experience.
Very astonishing landscape! I strongly recommend to join the guided tour, where you would have the experience to walk on the ridge of the crater and understand the background of the geometry and history of the site.
Very nice & educational. Movies & ride fun too. Know the kids will find it facinating.
Very informative, very well kept. Thank you all that have worked so hard to preserve such an amazing site.
Everyone who works here is so nice! The meteor is huge! P.S.: If you find a pair of sunglasses down there, it's my kid's. Lol
Most amazing place I've ever seen in person, only 6 miles south of I-40 with a beautiful drive through the desert.
This place was so unexpectedly amazing - highly recommend it!
The exhibits are interactive and informative. The 4D ride was cute and my kids liked it, but it costs $4 per person. The visitor center has good wheelchair access and an indoor viewing area. The paths around the crater are well maintained but not wheelchair accessible. The stairs are at half height which was friendly to my arthritic knees.
