The international wildlife museum stands as a monument to high class learning, in a fun way. They have such a magnificent or variety of different animals, most of which are taxidermied or preserved. If you are turned off by this in some way, I would highly recommend avoiding this. But, if you can see beyond the taxidermy, it is a highly educational institution that makes learning fun! being able to see creatures like these up close really brings to life the world that we live in, and makes reality even more real. I will continue going. I love this place.
The layout is awesome and the kiddos really have a great time! Would be nice if maybe they had more staff enthusiasts that way it would be more fun for parents as well..!
Great value and a nice time.
Drive thru was fast and accurate, even in the rain! Always smiling faces greeting me! Ina and Thornydale is the best!
Worth the visit, wonderful collection
Better than the zoo for toddlers. My son loves it, he doesnt have to wait for the animals to come out.
It was very cool and worth the admission!
Great place for kids or just to get out of the heat! Lots of learning opportunities and hands on materials. Featured artists room is always a treat! Takes about 1 1/2 to walk through and see everything. Gift shop and food available with reasonable prices. Had a very enjoyable time.
Visited from Canada with my girlfriend. This museum is absolutely gorgeous. There are so many incredible taxidermy displays. You can even touch some of the taxidermy (which is awesome). I've never seen anything like it. Highly recommend if you want a interactive and informational experience about all sorts of amazing wildlife. Can't wait to visit again!
Wonderful place
The front desk cashier was very friendly and welcoming my kids enjoyed it we stayed out of the heat for awhile its very nice recommend going.
My granddaughters ❤luv this place
Went here while on vacation in tucson. Fun place to check out with the kids
Fun little walk
Unbelievable experience, would be great for school age groups as well as any age adjlt. Magnificent taxidermy and display. A must see
Very fun and interesting place! They have great camps for kids during the summer and other breaks. I used to go to them every summer and I loved them!
Interesting but once you've been, why go back
1st time there, I was amazed! Loved it! Can't wait to go back.
Good, cheap fun. Amazing collection, great for kids.
Beautiful! The taxidermy is on point! Want to pet a bison, stand under a giraffe, sit with a crocodile? This is your place. None are alive since it's a museum not a zoo but they're so stunningly stuffed you can turn a corner and still feel like you're looking a lion in the eyes! I would absolutely recommend! Not much food but has a place to eat. Has a theater where planet Earth plays so check out their schedule beforehand. Great place on a hot day.
A fabulous and inderappreciated resource
Fun, it’s nice that kids and adults could be exposed to such a variety of animals.
Oneof the most interesting places we have visited lately. Beautiful displays of the animals.
I just happened to drive by this beautiful museum and decided to go in. At first I was taken aback by the taxidermy but when I started to see animals that I will never have a chance to see in my lifetime I started to get excited. I was stunned at some of the animals that I never even knew existed. The staff was very helpful and the whole place is beautiful. It is a must see if you are curious about International Wildlife.
It was amazing. All the animals looked so real and I learned a lot of unknown information.
Great place. Exhibits were great. Definitely recommend.
This was a fun experience. Lots of different animals and species. Really close exhibits so you can see the details.
Amazing place! The collection will teach you so much, with so many species it's surprising. Not only actual animals, but information about thier eyes, bones, ancestors and even thier origins. The exhibits are very detailed down to the tree leaves. We enjoyed the cave (nocturnal exhibit) including the bat's. You won't be disappointed, it's worth driving out to it. Don't miss the chance. One thing to tell the maintenance team however, that bridge seems weak and the boards move. Just saying.
Educational museum that has loads of information on animals, their habitats, and the future of each species. Some pretty fantastic displays and very interactive for kids. They have snacks for sale and a place for eating but no restaurant. The theater was down when I was there, and s few exhibits looked s little tired, but all in all worth the drive. #MilitaryDiscounts #tusconmuseum
Very interesting place to stop.
Amazing family experience and great activities. Look into booking events at this place you will be pleasantly surprised!! You can even use the movie theatre for movies/family memories with a custom slideshow
Great exhibits with detailed information about description, habitat and conservation efforts for each exhibit. Allow 2 to 3 hours to take your time to go through a very extensive world animal collection.
Fun for kids and folks who arr out of town guest.
Its very educational
Visited Tucson with my kids and this was our last stop. Which was a great idea. Everyone enjoyed their selves and phones only came out for pictures. Which is saying a lot with teenagers. Anyone thinking about visiting most definitely should, would be perfect for just about any age.
Fantastic museum. Lots of interaction with exhibits. Can touch almost everything. Cool activities all the time
Very interactive and encourages patrons (and kids) to touch exhibits.
An absolutely wonderful place. Beautifully designed and displayed.
Excellent customer service and very friendly staff. The visuals were breathtaking and the information detailed was through. My son had a great time and I learned a lot. Must see if you haven't yet!
Loved it ! We have gone a few times. It's pretty quiet most times, not crowded , very informative ! Our 8 yr old enjoyed herself and were defently coming back. Also the clerk lady is very kind.
If you have been inside the International Wildlife Museum in Tucson, Arizona, then you may have seen these real-looking animal displays. There is a massive massive display of bears and deer. I love this museum a lot! Visit it when you can.
Very unique museum. A taxidermist's dream. It's actually quite interesting to see the animals up close. The animals were prepared really nicely and are very life-like. The kids love it. Great variety of animals and the great room with the African animals is quite impressive. We got an annual pass and went 3 times last year. Definitely fun a few times.
Great place
You can pet a lot of the stuffed animals here! I love it for class field trips or private events. I went to a silent auction here and I never thought it could be so much fun. We were given flash lights and sent on a mission. I loved it
Amazingly displayed complete scenes that almost bring the animals to life!
Fun, and interactive. Good place to bring children to run around lots of animals to see. The outside pond has turned murky but all else is really cool
This museum is totally awesome! You should go, I will go again.
It is 5PM on Sunday afternoon, not as many people are here so it is a good time to be with the kids running around and exploring new things, we’ve been here at least 15 times, yeah I know, but there’s always something new to see, this is a good refuge on a super hot day like today it is 107 degrees outside. The kids always want to come back and ru. Around in here, there is always something new that they spit even if it’s been there for some time. There is a huge rhino near the entrance today and president theodore rosevelt on display for his role on conservation
Went on free day! Smaller than expected but had lots of fun, kids loved it was gonna watch a movie animals in black and white, there was 1 cashier...bless her heart the movie wouldn't play she had such a long line. Why on possibly the most busy day were there so short staffed???
Overall fun experience. The museum has many exhibits including a huge gallery of different mammals.
I visited a few months ago with a few of my friends and it was a great experience. The facility was large and they had various animals(taxidermy)/insects (some live, some not). You can touch some of the taxidermy and they also had a few activities with different types of eyes/horns/teeth that you can play with. The price was great for what you see here. The staff were nice and we actually had fun coming here. I would come again and I will bring more people next time.
The exhibits are great here and it is amazing to be able to get close to the animal displays and there are several displays you can touch
Wonderful beautiful exhibits
Small but impressive. Honored our ASTC membership, 100% discount.
Very fun and interesting museum to visit. The children had a great time. It does need some updates or some new innovations though. There haven't been many changes since I went when I was a kid.
Every animal you can think of, up close and personal!
Best time I've had in a while!!
A wealth of knowledge about the animals and environments from around the world.
Better than I thought. I went expecting hunting trophies and while there is a lot of that there is also a ton of education. Also the bug room is amazing!
Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for military. Very good collections throughout, good prices in the gift shop as well. They have areas that offer seating (leather couches). Very comfy addition while studying so many different species.
WOW. We visited using our POGO pass and was blown away. First, the place looks like a castle. All secret and covered in vines. That totally excited my kids. We went at opening and it was quiet, we basically had the place to ourselves. All the animals, insects, reptiles they had on display were very impressive. Such a wonderful variety to look at, and learn about. Very well maintained and clean. Large space to get a good visit and see many wonderful, and beautiful creatures. Lucky to have this in our state!
Well worth the cost, very nice!!
A great experience! Enjoyed all of the animals and the information!!
New to Arizona Family came to visit from CA for holidays and we all went to the Museum. Beautiful place. All my family enjoyed it. We made good memories
This place was awesome. The kids did not want to leave. The displays were done really well.
Amazing selection. A few interactive exibits. Like a giraffe bridge thing. They had animals I had never even seen before. Amazing.
Here is awesome!
the kids absolutely loved this place. wait until they have their deal days.
Great place to take the little ones. They also offer a military discount.
This museum is awesome for anyone who wants to sketch or draw!
Love taking the grandkids
Pretty cool , my toddler was scared ha
Was great fun and good education. Sad to see the bug exhibit go. But overall family fun
Quite the educational experience. Support the museum as best you can, because there's not too many places like this. And, they let you take pictures. While a smaller museum, we spent over two hours looking at everything.
Huge variety of animals, unique museum overall.
The sheer number of exhibit is enough to almost overwhelming. There is so much to see here that you could easily spend time out where you see if you are the museum type. One of the few museums where the she is definitely worth the visit. Exhibits range from all around the world with many exhibits in very natural-looking terrariums
Good times at the ol' Hunting Lodge. I enjoy it. They need to get some primates in there though
So many exhibits to see! I went my first time on a field trip with my kids and they rushed through, excited to continue looking through the museum. I had to come back with my husband to take more time to appreciate each area of the museum properly. That was nearly a year ago and I plan on returning, already eager to make my way through again. The atmosphere is calm and immersive, with background sounds in each area, along with some really cool staged habitats (desert, safari, prehistoric, etc.). I really enjoy standing face-to-face with some of the bigger life-size animals!
I enjoyed the info about Teddy Roosevelt. He was green before it was a thing. Thanks to him we have National Parks!
It's really educational and it was cool to learn about different animals
Went for Oyama elementary family night... Loved it..
Great place for family outtings
That kids love to visit here.
Great display ( taxidermy) of most african, asian, North American animals.
Far exceeded my expectations. Awesome.
Good place to see all sorts of animals from everywhere and s cool spot in the heat of the day
It was really great
I was only semi-interested in coming here. I have a reciprocal membership and thought it would be something to do during our visit here. It was surprisingly very cool. Largest taxidermy collection I've ever seen with animals from all over the world. Lots of things for kids to touch too. My favorite part was the McElroy Hall. There were 3 super comfortable leather sofas in there and all 4 walls filled with animals, mostly horned (or antlers). They had calming African music playing in the background and it was towards the end so you could sit and marvel at the sheer amount of different specimens. There was a theater at the end as well. Seemed geared toward toddlers but they probably play other things too. We were there less than 2 hours. With a movie, I'd say 2.5 hours is plenty of time to get through. Definitely worth a visit!
Fun place for kids and adults. Almost everything is real. Its air conditioned which is great for the summer time. They do parties and get togethers with they're sitting and dining area.
A wonderful place to bring kids and visitors.
We love this place! It's educational, and the way they set stuff up is so interesting. A room full of different horns and antlers all side by side, and case full of 50 different bird's eggs so the kids get a great understanding of the variation.
My family and I had a great time there!
Amazing Museum!!! I have been there several times bringing my family when they come to visit me.
Really fascinating exhibits which all ages will enjoy! My friends and I spent several hours there and definitely will go back. Friendly staff answered our many questions.
Very nice...tour guides are the best...great place for kids
Interesting way to view animal species. Not a top priority on my bucket list. Was nice, clean, and friendly staff.
I was a amazing place to see Museum
This place far exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend.
Get a chance go and take the kids Enjoy your time
Best place ever!!! My husband and I loved this place!!!
This place is amazing! So much to see and learn. I am not a fan of stuffed/mounted animals but I went away truly impressed. Very affordable, too!
My daughter and I love this place been coming here since she was 4 and still loves it she is 8 now. Very resonable priced. Ive always wish they had a kid area which they are now doing. Love the variety of animals and the information about each animal they have. The night time tunnel is my favorite, my daughter loves the room where the giraffes are and the goat mountain.
The International Wildlife Museum is a great place to spend an afternoon with the family, especially grandkids. The displays are all well crafted and educational.
Neat place, great artistic displays of animals, reasonably priced, and friendly staff
Dead animal mounts. Trophies. Not inspiring. Even though many were killed in the past, it is an anachronism. Especially with so many species, including some on display, in peril or on the cusp of extinction.
Great place to beat the heat and get the kids out of the house.
A great way to experience nature without having to visit caged animals just admiring ones from a life ago.
It was a little on the expensive side, but well worth it. So much to see and well layer out. They also have people that work there who are very informative on the animals. My favorites were the hummingbird and parrot exhibits. Saw my first Condor. He was awesome! Can't wait to go back!
We arrived 40 minutes till closing so we got free entry. The place is beautiful. It's full of animals (stuffed)
Awesome place to take the kids
A Great place to escape the heat, better than the zoo. My children love going and could go again and again and still see new things every time. Prices are completely reasonable, you get a lot for the price of entry.
Great museum with wonderful activities for kids.
It was a great way to actually compare the actual size of animals next to a person. Plus there was more animals from around the world that you could see opposed to a selection at other places. You cant do that at the zoo. It was amazing and i had a great time
It's a museum with a diverse taxidermy collection from around the world.
Great interactive displays and awesome variety of animals shown in natural habitats.
It was a great experience
Worth the price of admission. We happened upon this place and so glad we did. Amazing variety of animals and displays were so well thought out. Learned a lot and saw a lot. Had my 10year old with us...she too enjoyed it along with my parents. GO!
Great indoor natural history museum. Lots of good displays.
My favourite place in the whole world! I've been going there since I was 5yrs, and I've never been bored! Extremely educational and entertaining!
At first I was a little bit skeptical about visiting a collection of dead animals since I am not a big fan of hunting. Opposed to what I thought I would found this museum is a great opportunity to learn about the world we live in and its fauna. After visiting the museum I realized taxidermy is for sure one of the best ways to preserve species and create awareness of the diversity on earth. It has a major hall with a great collection of polar, grizzly and black bears, as well as a variety of cats and African species that help you get an idea of the real dimensions of these animals. The staff is very knowledgeable and the place has never really been packed in any of the times I’ve visited. The gift shop is great, but the only thing I regret is that, due to a recent expansion of this area, they have removed the entomology collection that contained a bunch of bugs, arachnids and Lepidoptera specimens that are amazing, I hope they reconsider and put it out of the storage again for people to be able to see it. I recommend this place 100%
My daughter loves going there and we learn something new every time!
This was the highlight of my entire trip to Arizona as a natural history buff and taxidermy collector. Unbelievable displays, lifelike dioramas, fantastic information about preservation efforts, and the McElroy room was incredibly moving. I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could!
the title make it sound like it will be live animals there..IT IS NOT REAL ANIMALS. there only figures of animals and the place is very small.
The museum displays a Centaur skeleton! Of course it's a horse skeleton merged with a human skeleton, but still pretty cool and worth checking out.
Very cool museum has alot to see!
Great place to bring the kids and have them enjoy the animals from all over the world.
We were pleasantly surprised at how close you can get to the animals. Most of the animals they welcome you to touch and feel of their skin and fur. With over 400 animals from around the world it's an excellent education for children. We went on a Saturday and it was not crowded at all. Maybe 15 people total. Nice cold air conditioning too. This is a hidden gem for sure.
I have always enjoyed this museum where you learn of so many different animals. Even insects. It's a fun place to take a family. I've visited this museum for the past 16 years.
The taxidermy mounts and life sized replicas are very well done. Some exhibits are hands on, which is fun for kids. The outdoor activity today was archery in the morning and pellet rifle shooting right now. It was enjoyable, but definitely kid oriented.
I hardly know what to say about this place. There were large rooms filled with well-done taxidermied animals, a lot of big game. It felt like it was filled with donations from families of big game hunters. The displays were well done, specimens were in good shape, but it was weird. Of course, zoos seem weird to me. I visit zoos, but keeping animals on display doesnt seem right. Maybe it's more human to display dead animals...
Such a wonderful place with aboundancy and huge variety of animals from all over the globe! Our children loved it and it is just as exciting for adults!
A museum ideal for children but surprisingly for adults too as it educates, plus makes us aware of international Wild life issues and current and past projects including the USA 20th C story of protecting 230 milliom acres of private land under the presidentship of Theodore Roosevelt. Vast display of taxidermy some of it interactive from various continents.
It is great place to see all the different animals and birds.
Nothing awesome. No where to eat or get a drink
You can learn so much about animals
Great so much to learn about.
Have a lot of fun took a Girl Scout II from Phoenix there
The international wildlife museum is legit! It was an amazing place to spend a few hours on a chilly Saturday with a toddler. It was so nice to not be overwhelmed by crowds of people and to be able to go slowly and appreciate the exhibits. My 20 month old son was able to walk around and explore, I didn't feel as if I had to hold his hand the entire time. There are some really neat exhibits that my son was able to interact with which I appreciated. There was a little theatre playing a variety of documentaries (we did not partake) and a cute gift shop. There was a place to get snacks and ample room to eat, the entire museum was stroller friendly and allowed us to experience everything together. A really nice, mellow, gem tucked away in the mountains, definitely worth the price of admission and the commute
It was great. A lot of information on different species I wouldn't otherwise know about. I enjoyed it. Plenty of information.
I would absolutely go back, a lot of animals to see
This museum is very interesting and is great for kids. It's reasonably priced and the staff is friendly and helpful. I've been coming here with my family for about 5 years and they have great activities for kids like an Easter egg hunt annually. Currently they are making renovations for a kids area and I'm looking forward to it!
Very inexpensive and many things to see for all ages
Wonderful experience for all ages
Good place for kids and grow up to learn
This place is awesome !! It's a great place for children of all ages !! I'm 52 and had a great time ! I would encourage that everyone go see this spectacular place !!
It was amazing i did not know tucson had this.. And it was free.
So many real taxidermy wild life, I fell like I am walking in the jungle.
The place is far from the city proper about 20mins via car but it is worth it. Very highly recommended when your in Tucson, Arizona. It is very informative and educational. Here you will learn and understand (past & present)the animals, insects etc that is found in the state of arizona and also throughout the world.
Very impressive setup. Admission is 3 dollars after 3 till the end of April. Definatly check it out.
We brought our 20 month son for the Easter event, and he loved the place. He couldn't get over the giraffes and other large animals, and he kept returning to the dark desert tunnel. It was a fun day!
Fascinating museum that concentrates on wildlife conservation starting with President Teddy Roosevelt and his pioneering efforts.
Awesome place, cant wait to go back.
All I can say is one word AWESOME
Very educational great for kids teachers would recommend the right moral place for this type of taxidermy
Fabulous inside and out! And only $7 for seniors. Taxadermy museum kid friendly too.
Fun place to take the grandkids
This was a very nice place to visit. You could easily spend a few hours learning about the different animals.
Great place! Took the grand daughter to things that go bump in the night. Wonderful interactive show! Craft for the kids at the end. I would highly recommend the International Wildlife Museum.
