REVIEWS OF Hall of Flame Fire Museum IN Arizona

Bill Wilson

Very interesting Firehouse collection. Fully private collection. Includes biographies, dedication to fallen heroes, lots of historical tidbits, etc.

Destiny Nehrkorn

Love coming in with my family and learning all kinds of new things! It had a great kids area and tons of diffrent fire trucks to look at and learn about!

D. R.M.

A fascinating look at firefighting equipment from as far back as the 18th century. Immaculately cared for, the museum and it's contents are well worth a couple dollars to see the incredible craftsmanship and engineering.

Oma Mendoza

The place need to be more clean, it's a cockroach in one of the rooms

Kim Gilbert

The world's largest firefighting museum. Great trucks and apparatus of the past. A must place to visit.

brianna engstrom

One of the first stops we made getting into town. It was such a great experience! The admission to get in is the cheapest in town for the experience you get out of it. The museum staff were very friendly and informative and they knew what they were talking about being retired firefighters themselves. Was very glad we chose to come here!

Joseph Yow

The Hall of Flame collection is on of the best collections of fire equipment I have ever seen. It can be a day long event for a firefighter or antiques aficionado. Anyone going to Phoenix should build in at least half a day to visit this museum. Absolutely great!

Avril Tatum

A great way to spend an afternoon..or maybe even a day.

Ashlee Johnson

My husband and I are huge firefighting fans because he used to be one. We stopped in and its so cool and I love the trucks and how excited it made my husband. 10 stars from my family . Definitely coming back to visit with the kids.

ryan ryan

Fun!!! Because who doesn't want to be a firefighter!!

Lesley Marshall

Unique museum that has one of the largest fire collections in the world; on display are fire engines from around the world, fire badges, memorial display for the firefighters who lost their lives at 9/11, and a switchboard that plays current local fire messages. In addition, you can request tours as well as use the museum for your child's birthday party.

Justin Prieto

I love it! The only con I see here is the height of the sinks. Other than that its awesome.

Samantha Kasper

Ever since my boys found out my brother is a fireman, they have been obsessed with firemen and fire trucks. My boys are 4 and 5 and one of them has autism, which is very apparent. When we walked in at 330, the man at the front looked at his watch then sighed really loud and didn’t bother to greet us which didn’t make us feel welcomed at all. We asked if they had a military discount and this Seemed to further agitated the man up front. Both of my children were so excited, they immediately ran in, and I was sure to be right behind them and correct their behavior. The man told us nothing was to be touched, not even the chains surrounding the fire trucks. My 4 year old understood exactly, but my son with autism, I had to kneel down and explain to him very slowly that he had to keep his hands to his self and touch nothing. The man at the front was just staring at me like I was an idiot. When my son signaled that he understood, he went to walk away but tripped over a wooden sign that was protruding from on the the exhibits in the very front. it made a loud sound and I looked over at the man up front who then proceeded to roll his eyes at me and turn around. I wanted to leave right then and there, but We literally came from San Diego, we left in the early hours of the morning and made this giant detour just for this museum. I was so uncomfortable, we just walked quickly passed everything and took the boys to the back so they could play in the play area. The museum has a lot. Helmets, uniforms, tons of trucks, and patches. what we saw looked awesome. I wish we were more comfortable to take our time and read a little info about the things all around. I would not recommend this place to people with children, especially if they’re special needs. As special needs parents, we are so hyper aware of everything. We understand that there are rules and we follow them, we teach our son that he is not exempt from the rules because of his diagnoses. I’m not saying by any means that the man was rude because my child has autism because he was rude the second we came through the door, but the eye roll and looks he gave me while I was trying to communicate with my son just ruined our day... especially in a fire truck museum. These first responder men and women are so helpful and selfless for what they do and I thought this would be a safe place for us to be without judgement for some reason... and I was wrong.

Vicki Broman

Fun museum for kids and adults. Took my in laws there and they loved it. Quite a collection and well documented if you read the notebook tour. Highly recommended.

Charles Rude

Very cool

Lynnette Gillis

This place is fantastic! Well organized and have a great area for children. All the fire equipment is amazing! Totally restored and immaculately maintained. I would go back. Highly recommend it for anyone visiting the Phoenix area.

C C

An amazing collection of fire fighter memorabilia. Much of it restored with intense detail. The gentlemen in the front are a wealth of knowledge and the binders really help to learn some interesting stories about the equipment. Also, the firefighter database they have it's really nice. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time here otherwise you will surely miss something really cool.

Harry Samuel

if you want to see about a thousand fire trucks this is the place to go we found it very interesting and I don't know what else to say it's all about fire trucks it has a nine-one-one memorial section. As a New Yorker who lost friends in 9/11 I finally got to see a picture of a guy I grew up with, who was on the NY police department. He was a gung-ho Marine who would do anything to help people, then one of New York's finest.

Denita Fobs

It was awesome, so many engines. My 4 year old grandson loved it. He loves fire engines. The children's corner was a break for him as he said playtime! Which gave us a minute to catch our breath and not have to think of entertainment for him because he is after all 4. Price was reasonable when looking at Disney and other amusement activities for kids. I was quite impressed. I highly recommend this museum.

Troy Moser

Good museum. Not a good place for young children. More for older children & adults. Very interesting.

Sherrie Haake

The history of each vehicle just boggles the mind. Beautiful workmanship. Fun areas for the kids. Plus, the 9 11 memorial is very special.

Lyle Davis

Unbelievable. Largest Fire equipment display in the world. Be shur to arange the ture before going.

Ryan Czerwinski

Very well laid out, and the binder given for self guided tours contains a lot of information. I would recommend spending at least 2 hours here

Heather St Pierre

Fun for kids and cheap admission. Place to play like fireman as well. Simple museum. When I went there I don’t see good honor for the Yarnell Fire. Guess they r trying to catch up

Kevin Jensen

Awesome museum, lots of antique fire engines and equipment.

Kayla Rawles

It costs to get in, and it's just room upon room of fire engines(present day and old). They give you a binder with info on each engine, but I didn't like having to flip through to read about each engine. I wish they'd just had plaques up that you could skim over, as well as more than just engines.

Thomas Cavanaugh

Very interesting and informative.

Darren Johnson

So much fire history under one roof, great displays and lots of information. It is very affordable and worth checking out. It is self guided tour which is nice so you can go at your own pace.

Danelle Meere

I took my 3 year old son to the museum for an afternoon activity. We spent about 1.5 hours making our way through the various exhibits. I found myself having to remind my son that the big shinny trucks aren't meant to be touched or ridden which he found to be frustrating at times. This is to be expected with museums and young children. Thankfully partway through there was a hands-on experience available for him to try on mock fire fighters gear, climb onto a real fire engine and sit behind the wheel. At every glance I found interesting facts and showcases of historical equipment and vehicles. The center did a great job of giving a hero's tribute to the generations of rescue workers as well. I found the best part of the visit to be towards the end where we found a life size (1 bedroom) house that exemplifies the daily fire hazards found in the average home. This was a great opportunity to teach my son about fire safety. The best part for him was the firemen poll and miniature fire truck where he was able to burn off some bottled up energy. The gentleman in charge of the museum was amazing in his own right. He was incredibly friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. Altogether I would definitely recommend this local attraction to anyone.

Chris Brooks

Way more fun than I expected. The kids loved it.

Melissa Kampe

Worth a visit. Informative for all ages.

Carol Guerra

Learned lots of things we never knew... Will definately return!!! My 4 year old really enjoyed it...

Patricia Cabral

Love this museum. Lots of history and interesting facts.

Daisy Robles

We had a great time (with 7, 6 and 3 year old girls) up until the end. The girls started looking around the gift shop and like all kids they were touching the toys and knickknacks. One of the older man at the front desk was extremely rude and kept telling the girls not to touch anything. (The things they were touching were kid things, toys and coloring books NOT glass or anything that can break!) We literally walked out after the 3rd time the man told my daughters in a rude, high tone voice TO STOP TOUCHING ITEMS, and as we walked out my husband told them "well we had a great experience up until now." They easily lost a $100 sale from us as most things in the gift shop are over priced. Almost $15 for coloring books you can get at the dollar store. The lack of customer service is the reason for my 2 star review, the place in itself I would rate 4+ and there was ONE older gentleman man with glasses who greeted us and gave us a lot of helpful information, he was very friendly and even turned on one of the old truck engine for us to see.

Edith Levy

Incredible history preserved in wonderful visuals. Great for kids. The 9-11 tribute area moved me to tears. Not one to go through in one visit. We will make more treks here in the future.

Michele Carroll

Such an enjoyable visit here, highly recommend! Fantastic to see the evolution of fire fighting equipment and vehicles. Perfect if you have family or friends visiting and want to do something out of the ordinary!

James Wright

My kids had fun but it is more for adults. There is a couple of kids zones but it is a museum. Overall Awesome. Lots to see and learn.

Michael Word

A great local museum. Well worth the visit!

Zachary Evan Medley

An exceptional collection of fire trucks and firefighting paraphernalia! I think it's safe to say this is one of a kind and I wish I could give it more than 5 stars!

Paul Kohl

Interesting even though I am not a fire buff. Woodlands gallery was the most interesting. Lots of unique older fire equipment.

Peter Gullman

What a great way to spend the afternoon in Tempe.

Marco Jimenez

Great museum to go to with tons to look at. Great gift shop that you could either go straight to without having to do the tour or at the end of the tour

Joshua Hedgecock

Worth the visit. A lot have work has gone in to the restoration of the fire equipment. They have all kinds of equipment from the 1700s to present. There is a climb on fire engine exhibit specifically for kids to play on. There are exhibits honoring those who died at the world trade center and the granite mountain hotshots who were lost in wildfires in Arizona. You can spend a good 45 minutes to an hour here.

Allesia Bassett

My grandson loved it!

John Junior

Very unique learning experience. Anyone can Google fire fighting history. But to see the actual machines in real life and reading about their history leaves a much more meaningful impact. Great experience for young and old.

Hayden Boyett

We had such an exceptional experience here. The two veteran fire fighters helped make our experience extraordinary. These veterans work here. My heart was touched they honor the fallen fire fighters and the hero fire fighters including paramedics. This place has been established in the valley since the 50’s. I will now consider this one of our valley treasures. It is definitely worth the $10 admission. Thank our God there are people who give their time resources and treasure to make this spectacular venue possible. My favorite story is why our fire trucks are decorated so elaborately: it is because of the friendly competition between the teams. Just add a little competition (it is welcome in all venues: to make it better).

Juan Hickman

Stopped by here for the first time during a stay-cation. Impressive collection of older and newer restored fire trucks from USA, Canada, Europe and Japan going way back to the early 1800s. The rooms with the various collection are in date order BTW. Also have memorials to the fallen firefighters and bits of history are all over the walls through various pictures, paintings and framed memorabilia. The one that got to me was a restored FDNY truck from 9-11. I got chills standing next to it. A large place to say the least. You won't be disappointed and will be impressed.

frances chacon

There is a lot of history here. My family enjoyed all the trucks on site. My son enjoyed the hands on play area as well. The men who were there had a lot of information to share.

Brandon Yzarrraraz

The National Historical Fire Foundation (Hall of Flame) is a museum dedicated to the historical preservation of firefighting equipment used through the years around the world. The museum's artifacts were originally the private collection of George F. Getz Jr., who opened the original Hall of Flame in Wisconsin in 1961. Getz moved the museum to Phoenix in 1974. The museum has five exhibit bays and the National Firefighting Hall of Heroes gallery. The equipment is grouped as: Hand & Horse Drawn (1725–1908); Motorized Apparatus (1897–1948); Motorized Apparatus (1918–1968); Motorized Apparatus (1919–1950) and Wildland Firefighting. It also has a large collection of Fire Department arm patches. It is in Phoenix, Arizona at 6101 East Van

I stopped into this museum not expecting too much, but I was wrong. I visited on a Sunday afternoon and unfortunately I stopped in about 1 1/2 hours before the museum closed. I thought this would have allowed me plenty of time, but I was wrong. I went back the following day and spent another 3 hours there! There are so many pieces of equipment to see, videos to watch, and they even have an area for small children to play and learn. I believe you could visit this museum multiple times and see something new each time. Thank you to the volunteers that run the facility.

Carl Valle

Awesome. They have Rescue 4 from 911 there! Great people, really well done. What you would expect from a bunch of Firemen!!! Don't miss this!

Theresa Zeland

Wha t a great place to lesrn.

ricardo endfield

Very worthwhile.....

Jason Zacher

Amazing. It was incredible and so much larger than I expected.

Fallout shelter

One of America's great museums a must see of fire history. The rarest of rare artifacts I loved every minute of my visit. I even came across a few fire rigs that came from long island towns I lived in and the crown jewel rescue one that was rebuilt after being destroyed on september 11th, 2001 standing on its backstep where some of the greatest and bravest stood at some of the worst incidents will forever be remembered. The helmets and insurance plaques to the steamers and hand pulled carts it's the greatest collection and I could spend hours in that museum. The curator on duty a ex new Yorker was a great help and a touch of home and helped solve a lot of questions! If your in town .......GO!

Susan Willams

Very neat and interesting place.

Mike Mello

The largest, most comprehensive firefighting museum I've ever seen. Allow at least 4 hrs to see and appreciate all the work that has gone into restoring and maintaining the apparatus. Amazing collection, exquisitely restored and presented with explanation placards. Huge Dept patch collection. $7 admission. Staffed by volunteers who will lend you a guide binder explaining the artifacts. Nice gift shop, the only place where a mini version of painted pony shown below can be bought new, 1 of 343. Worth the trip, located on East Van Buren at the SRP turnout. Lots of parking free.

Kay Sands

What an awsome jewel! Building filled with all types of old and new fire equipment. Lots of history, great pictures, and Pat did a wonderful job of explaining various aspects. This is a MUST see in the Phoenix area!

Tonie Tiger

Really neat old fire trucks. Also has a great area where kids can interact and have some play time. Fun gift shop too.

Jay Myers

Good history of firefighting and memorial to the Granite Mountain Hot Shots

Gary Ward

Great place for the kids. The little ones will enjoy climbing on and 'driving' the old fire truck. There are a couple of other kid-friendly play areas. Great photo-ops for parents. Great for birthday parties. Kids can get a ride on a pumper and actually pump water from the truck.

Chela p

We actually had a little trouble finding this place but so glad we came. Believe it or not it really has some interesting things. I also love how they have a section for the firefighters that were lost in 9/11. It is definitely a collection of a lot of memorabilia, we were given a binder in the front desk that gives you a lot of information. They do have a little kids section for them to play around in. Since it was empty, I'm going to be honest I took advantage of it lol. But the the little helmets were too small. There were two gentlemen in the front, yes one is much more approachable than the other but seriously don't let that stop you from enjoying this museum, it's worth it and especially what some good human beings have sacrificed for others.

Rob Nebeck

A lot of history and very interesting to see how fire sighting has changed over time.

Jasmin buchanan

I would love to bring my son back here. Its really small and straight forward. Its great for learning historical information and there are some interactive items as well. The children cannot touch or climb on most of the models but there are things for them to touch or climb on. My son really liked it. He spent a lot of time in the kids area and taking it all in. I suggest you plan your visit based on the fact that this is a historical museum.

Andy Fish

a great place for fire Buffs

Rebecca B-rown

Such a brilliant place, great museum.

Arizonafied OG

Karen Best

Incredible collection and some really great docentscand staff. Worth the stop!

Chuck Lenz

Excellent exhibit! My wife really enjoyed it..

Mark Anello

If you love the fire department this is a must see!

Casey shoemaker

Wish it was bigger and spread out more but we had so much fun and even had too much fun in the gift shop

John Camou

Doesn't look like much from the outside but it is truly amazing. The collection is unlike anything. Best fire fighting museum I've ever seen

Alexander Vallar

The subject and content of the collection is very rare and extensive. The curator has done an outstanding job collecting a lot of memorabilia but the museum could use work on its presentation an organization. For example, I was given a binder of information on the different exhibits. This information would have been better presented as individual placards next to their respective content. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the experience immensely and appreciate the dedication of the staff to present this important niche topic. #kidfriendly #wheelchairaccessible

Gary Diggs

Absolutely marvelous as the first time I visited!!!

James Kamb

My family brought my brother and here when we were younger. Today, I brought my wife for the first time. It is just as great for kids as it is for adults. Lots of history and many exhibits to look at. Besides the fire engines, there are fire markers dating back to the late 1700's, exhibits on firefighting gear and firefighters. Two short movies play in different areas allowing a chance to sit down and rest. It isn't a large area, but looking at and reading each display will take time In the last area is a live system for hearing dispatch calls live. My wife and stepped and heard dispatch to our area of town. It was fascinating. They have a dizzying collection of patches and it was fun to look for areas we are familiar with. Overall, the Hall of Flame is definitely a museum you should visit.

Michael Molloy

The world's best for firefighting history

Candice Kovach

Great place full of world wide fire history! There are antique fire fighting devices from like 1800s. There's a cute gift shop. My little guy loved being able to climb in a fire truck in Gallery 2. He also really enjoyed the safety house in the other gallery.

Kevin Delvalle

Stopped by here for the first time during a stay-cation. Impressive collection of older and newer restored fire trucks from USA, Canada, Europe and Japan going way back to the early 1800s. Martin Epstein

Surprisingly good - very well maintained and super depiction of "first line defenders". 6yo grandson LOVES this place - has been there 3x - takes away new info each time. Very knowledgeable staff.

Debbie Roton

Outstanding, A lot of historical truck from the USA, Thur the years! Great for Men & kid's also indoors & Airconditioned!! VERY nicely done

cheeseballs

The place is great, you get to look at amazing fire trucks and theres one your little kids can go in (and theres little jackets for them), other they were nice and all that. There were reviews about a grumpy guy but they were made years ago and i think he is probably not working here anymore. Its a great place to go just be careful that your little ones dont try to attack the fire trucks those things are old

Matthew Paul

Being an ex firefighter this place was amazing every type of engine, to pumper and ladder, as well as helmets patches and equipment and a place for kids. The gifts in the gift shop I thought were very fairly priced as well I will be back

Jim Wooton

Wonderful collection of vehicles. Well kept, comfortable atmosphere to enjoy viewing!

Mario Ravelo

An awesome place to see and learn history of the firefighters, theirs machines, equipment, aallll...

Lanny Henderson

Wonderful museum of firefighting equipment and practices. Very touching tributes to 9/11 and Granite Mountain Hotshots honoring the sacrifices made. Trucks from both incidents are on display. Go to this museum, and take sufficient time to feel the spirit and heroism of this noble profession! You will learn and you will be humbled.

Gary Bynum

Great place to visit really informative

Esther Paradoski

Very neat place. So many beautiful fire trucks and the fire department patch collection has some really cool patches.

stephanie moceri

My nephew had a good time and the trucks were pretty cool. The gentleman at the front was very kind.

Tristram Vaughan

Fun place to visit

Ronda Davis

Kids loved it

Sarah Charlton

So Much History of Fighting Fires... There are so many things to see, learn and explore. Prices are good and they have a couple kid friendly areas for little firefighters to explore! A Must Visit if you're in the Area!

Roger Kling

Awesome display. I recommend getting a tour guide.

rachelle ferraro

We had my son's third birthday party at the museum. All of the kids and the parents had a blast. This museum is a gem! The fire trucks span back to the days of the bucket brigade and horse drawn carriages through modern times. I need to go back because I did not have time to really be able to appreciate the history contained in the museum. I was worried that my son's friends would not appreciate the fire trucks which I correctly assumed would be behind roped off displays but the eyes of even the youngest kids (and many of the adults) just lit up at seeing all the amazing (and some even beautiful and ornate) vehicles. I highly recommend this place to anyone who has not been there. And I recommend it for a child's party as well. There was an area in the back set up with tables and room for us to bring our food, drinks... There is a play area complete with child sized fireman dress up clothes, a pole to slide down, a hose to play with, a small fire truck ride, and even a "firehouse" play house, papers to color...really all the activities you could imagine for a child's party (and that's forgetting that you have an entire museum to tour that I know the adults at our party truly enjoyed). Halfway into the party, the kids (and adults) got to ride a real fire truck and play with a fire hose... I know there have been posts about the staff being less than friendly, but I did not find that to be the case at all. The staff are volunteers incredibly knowledgeable about the museum artifacts. Maybe because I have volunteered at a non profit before, but I did not expect the staff to clean up the mess we made nor did I expect them cater to us like the staff at a Chucky Cheese would. But we had a far better time than we could have had at any other birthday party venue!! I highly recommend this place and will be going back!

Ben Riggers

This place is awesome!

Kathy Ortiz

Great collection of fire engines, equipment and history. This is a great place for all ages and abilities. Despite the name it's a very COOL place!

Tony N

There's no live docent or guide. You're given a binder and instructed to read the description in the binder for more information on the item display. Some things already have explanations on the wall or next to their display. I'm not sure why they don't have this for every display. I found it cumbersome to flip though the binder. The collection also seems pretty random. There's no continuity of a story line. Just lots of old fire apparatuses of a bygone era with little context to explain its evolution to present day firefighting. They have several TVs and projectors that appear to be set up to play videos. None were turned on and played anything. And at the end of the day, I didn't walk away learning anything new. They claimed to be the biggest fire museum in the world. Not sure how one can verify this but I won't argue that it's fairly big. But they could do a much better job of explaining things on display.

Nate Dame

Best museum with extremely and knowledge caretakers. We have young kids, so they were somewhat quickly bored with the rooms of dozens of fire trucks old and new lined up neatly. Fortunately there's a truck available to climb.om to your heart's content (a big hit!) and a area towards the back with all sorts of things of toys to play with and setups to climb on - including a fire station pole and a short platform with steps to try it from. A good time, but older kids - and anybody passionate about old equipment or firefighting - would have an even better time!

James W Morand

This is a place that is one of the best keeped secerates of the area. my grandkids love it and so do I.

Nathan Nichols

If you are trying to decide if you should go to the Hall of Flame Meusem, just do it. You won't be disappointed. It was my first stop after getting to Phoenix and I am very glad I stopped here. It costs $10 to get in but it is totally worth it!!

Jason Doll

Worth going if you're or have been a fire fighter.

Ashley Engelbert

Cool place to check out while killing time before a flight

Jill & Bob Leech

Magnificent display of our history. Such attention to details. .a real history of the fire service and our equipment . Thanks to everyone who makes it possible.

vera bartolomey

We love coming here. We purchased membership so we could go any time we'd like. Our son loves everything related to firefighters! He says he wants to be one when he grows up. Hall of Flame is a great place to teach a kid what firefighting is all about and what safety rules we can follow to prevent fires.

Robert Becker

This is a great place to visit . The staff was very friendly and my family and myself had a fantastic time. Next time I'm back in Arizona I plan on stopping in again

Evan Noble

I took my 3 year old and 6 year old sons and my 3 year old started crying as soon as we got in. He thought the fire trucks were going to make noise, which they weren’t, but I couldn’t convince him otherwise. I asked for a refund, but I was refused. I would say the museum is NOT toddler friendly. Perhaps older kids will like it, but I’m not sure young kids will like it. I can’t give it one star because they do have some pretty cool old fire trucks from what I did see.

Antonio D'Argenio

The biggest firefighters Museum of the world. Very nice to visit or have birthday parties.

Joseph Schur

Highly recommend for anyone interested in the history of the fire service! Exhibits are up to date and provide thorough information.

Sherrie W

We went on a weekday and had a very pleasant visit. The person at the front desk was very friendly. Most of the exhibits were old fire trucks (and there were so many) but there were also tools and other equipment on display, as well as badges and a few uniforms. There were displays to honor fallen firefighters as well. My 10 year old and 5 year old seemed to have a good time. There was a fire truck that they could step up into and sit behind the wheel, so they loved that. There was an old control center from the 70s with a placard that stated you could hear actual calls coming through the city center (not recordings)--we heard something but it didn't really sound like much. There was a section that looked like rooms in a house and it showed various dangerous conditions that we should remember/look out for. There were also a few interactive displays that you could push buttons on. We had a nice time. I was a little hesistant to go as I had read reviews about how the customer service was, but I felt really comfortable ( I noticed that one of the reviewers seemed to be Muslim like me and I wear hijab and the two workers (or maybe volunteers,) we encountered were very friendly towards me/my family unlike the reviewers experience). The only thing that I think would have made the visit better was if each display had a placard (or even just a paper print out)of each display. They had binders that you could take around that explained each display I guess, but we didn't really want to carry it around.

Mark Paladino

Very cool and interesting. Beautifully restored equipment. Must see

Jen Womeldorf

Pleasantly surprised with this local museum! Visited with my family who were in from out of state, and we were looking for interesting museum-type activities. Caveats for those who like to keep their museum-going experiences brief: this place is HUGE, it really is the world's largest museum dedicated to firefighting, and face it, fire trucks are sorta big... Also, to really enjoy the displays, you need to READ the info on each from a book you get to carry with you while you're there. This isn't everyone's cup of tea, but there's a lot of history contained within. Staffed by knowledgeable former firefighters, who might just demonstrate some equipment for you if you ask.

Blanca Martinez

So much to look at...Very informative!

Robert Andrulis

The tour was a bit long but thorough - had to sit down a few times

Kayla Giles

Awful customer service. Older gentleman was on the phone when we walked in and he said "Oh Nancy hold on a sec I got people walking in". Then treated us like we were a burden and had some other guy tell us the basics who was not enthused at all. We walked the museum and the museum part was great. Then we went to leave and my three year old started to throw a tantrum because he wanted a toy but a little fire station toy was almost $40. So I told him no that we could something different. Like any three year old would, he started throwing a fit. As I tried to calm him down, the older gentleman got up and walked towards us and sat there shaking his head and huffing and puffing. I definitely was not going to purchase anything at that point. I gave the man his toy and escorted my son out the door and told the man I won't be returning. Sad that something so historical is being run by someone who treats there customers like burdens. He was also arguing with another gentleman as we were going to the restroom. Awful.

This museum is amazing. The fire trucks are really cool and the price for admission is very low. Definitely worth going to see the history of firefighting.

Lots of history on firetrucks. Felt at home as the museum started in Wisconsin and relocated to Phoenix.

Awesome place. Great historical info and beautiful dedication to 911 fireman. The only negative is all the screaming, brat kids that parents dont control. They ruin everyone's time.

Jim Deal

Friendly staff, it is a very interesting exhibit. Anyone, young or old, if they like fire fighting equipment will enjoy this museum. There is equipment for all over the world and covering 100 years. Families will all enjoy their time here. There is also a gift shop. Parking is free.

It's a remarkable collection that was primarily accumulated by George F. Getz, Jr.. This a treasure trove of primarily late 19th up to mid 20th century pumpers, ladder trucks, steamers, and vehicles designed for duty in controlling wildfires. I remain deeply touched by the memorials to 9/11 and the pumper acquired by the museum from the FDNY. Also the Granite Hotshots Memorial and their service truck stir a profound and powerful appreciation of their sacrifice fighting the Yarnell Hill Fire. They're so many more tributes and memorials to reflect and appreciate. Why I decided to only rate 4 stars for the Hall is my sense that everything has a sense of energy that left the building. I say this reluctantly because so much has been done to build and create this space. Simply put updates, modernizing the exhibits, enlarging the space, and expanding staff will bring the 5th star. Love the fact that our two guides/ docents have been there for 20+ years. Dedication comes in so many ways. Thanks for keeping a light shining on our first responders.

Very poor customer service! I called to get information and the young man who answered the telephone was so rude. I asked to speak with a manager and he told me that he needs a name of who I want to speak with. I didn't have a name to give, couldn't he habe told me who it is??? Finally I said I would like to speak with his supervisor. His reply was that he needed a name of who I what to speak with and then he said, "call back when you have a name, I gotta go" and he hung up! How sad because I am from a family of firefighters. I never got to all my question. :(

Penny Kirkbride

Enjoyed our walk around the museum. Would have been better if we could have taken our time to read all the information, but we have small children and felt rushed. There are a few kids activities and kids do enjoy it. Really cool displays and arm patches! I found a typo on one of the information sheets!

Kathy Struwe

Very impressive display, videos about the origin of the museum and on smoke jumpers. Uniform Patches from all over the world. Plan on spending a couple of hours on your feet walking through the museum. Really worth the price of admission.
