Very cool place helpful staff and learned a bit about the city of chandler. My Girlfriend and I even colored a few pictures together! Nice place to take a date to.

We came to the museum to see their exhibit on the Gila River Interment Camp during WWII. My mother in law and her extended family were interned at that camp when she was a child, so the visit was very personal to our family. We attended the exhibit opening at an evening reception and everyone was so kind and was interested in our family's tragic stories and experiences at the camp. The exhibit was great for its size and we loved making paper cranes with the other attendees - it was a wonderful interactive project. The museum has a paper crane community project where they are trying to fold 16,655 paper cranes - one for every person interned at the Gila River Internment Camp.

The Japanese internment exhibit was extremely disappointing. Besides pictures there were no real artifacts or displays. And to make it worse the exhibit promotes a version of revisionist history and untruths about the true motivation behind the internments with a modern politically correct spin and racial undertones. A museum should be a place to observe and learn the facts of our past, not be subjected to an agenda.

Nice museum to explore about the city of Chandler.

Virginia Stevenson

Great show of the towns beginning

Sandra Marcantelli

This is a free museum. Much of it was about the experience of Japanese Americans during World War I I. I thought I already knew that sad story but the museum really brought it to life and I came away with a deeper understanding. If you go, be sure to watch the movie.

Caitlin Burm

Brian Pomerantz

Very limited experience. They missed a great chance to display the history and growth of Chandler.

Carolyn Ruiz

Not ready for visitors. No displays about important Chandler history. Nothing but a few undescriptive photos. Takes about 5 minutes Then there are two displays of photos and Japanese Gila River prison. Neither of these had anything to do wirh Chandler History. Very disappointing.

Under construction will be very nice when complete

Well worth the visit - sad to think we treated Japanese american like war criminals. A travesty of justice. Not our finest hour.

Shanan Ence

The lady at the front desk is very nice and remembered me when I came back with my husband a couple weeks after my first visit. The exhibits are interesting and we look forward to seeing the exhibits in the future. Definitely somewhere we will go often!

A newly renovated building with good size of space.

Interesting relatively new museum. Provided a starting point for discussing the history of our grandchildren's hometown. Looks like it has room and the desire to get better. I look forward to visiting in the future.

This place is a little gem in Chandler. It is bigger than expected with many different hallways and nooks. There are so many beautiful pictures and sculptures that tell the history of our great country.

Very cool to see all the history of Chandler. New building right by Chandler mall

kenneth judd

Great exhibit on WWII japanese internment centers.

Mark Mcentire

A very small but well-curated exhibit on the WWII Japanese internment camps in Arizona and the West coast. it was down-to-earth and honest without a lot of fluff and easy for my children to understand. They eve had a small section of books written by internees that my first grader was able to read and understand.

Cynthia Ramsey

Great small museum, good place to learn about Chandler's history. The docents did a great job with the tour and sharing some interesting history. Good way to escape the heat.

William Robinson

Not enough history on exhibit, the funny family photo exhibit seemed out of place. I was disappointed in this new Museum. Hopefully, the Frank Lloyd Wright exhibit in January 2019 will help.

Very good.

Good selection of rides for all ages including fully-grown adults like myself! Free bus service to and from the Waterpark from Rhodes City which was very handy, food was decent although we were harassed by wasps all the while we had food. Also have a wristband service that you can load money onto upon arrival which was very handy/avoided the

I did not know that Chandler had a museum until after I went for a visit. Not only did they have some good exhibits on Arizona history, but they also had some stuff about Chandler history. It's a good place to go spend part of your afternoon at.

We took a stroll over after being at the mall. I was with my eight year old granddaughter. It was quite interesting learning about the Chandler and Price families. We gained so much from the exhibit of the Japanese internment camps in the Gila. It was amazing to see the strength of the people that had to live through that and I was just an incredible learning experience for us both.

Loved this place. My family had a great time. We'll be coming back!

Austin Bartusek

Had an afterthought date with the boo, went in 10 minutes before close to see the Frank Lloyd Wright exhibit. The front desk lady said we could stay longer if we'd like. We were the only two there.

Chanah Mapes

This place is small and free. If you want free air conditioning for 30 mins tops it is perfect. There is a section on Japanese history duting WWII and this was the only exhibit that wasn't disappointing or underwhelming. This place is okay for young children, but I wouldn't intentionally bring them because they probably will not appreciate it. The bathrooms are nice and clean though, so if you need the restroom stop in.

Architecturally superb. The exhibit on the detained Japanese American citizens should make us truly remember what we are capable of. Yes the "Tyranny of the Masses".

We enjoyed a free, knowledgeable, and informative tour of this new museum. We came away with a good understanding of Chandler history. The exhibit on the internment of Japanese American citizens during WWII is well-done and worth exploring. We also enjoyed the artworks derived from ordinary objects.

It's a small museum that took me a little under an hour to explore. After you walk past the nicely decorated roof that shades the entrance to the museum, you walk towards your right and that's where the exhibits are. The first room was about the Japanese Internment camps in AZ and there were a list of names along with origami cranes to represent those interned. There were also a few artifacts from those camps. After that, there was a coloring area, and beyond that, there were some paintings and items (like space heaters, telephone, etc) from the 1900s. Once done with this area, you can exit into the main hall to look at some pictures placed on the walls from Chandler in the past. After that, you can exit a door their Living Room building. The Living Room is a tiny room with two sofas, old silverware and dishes from the 1900s and pictures of a historic hotel. There wasn't too much to see, but the museum is so well maintained- clean, aesthetically pleasing, and all the displays have helpful signs if you want to learn about them. The front desk ladies were especially kind and welcoming, and also informed me of the tours that they offered there.

This small museum had just opened and all the exhibits were not quite completed yet when we were there in mid-December of 2018. But the exhibit on Japanese internment camps at Gila River during WWII was quite informative, interesting and sobering. And the "Awkward Family Photo" exhibit ( a temporary traveling exhibit) was pretty funny. There was no admission fee.

Sheila Popovich

The new building is beautiful and admission is free. Great place to learn about our city and to see how it's evolved through the century.

It's mostly just pictures on the walls? And 1 of the 3 exhibits it houses seemed to be an art contest? Not much in the way of artifacts/memorabilia. Definitely not what I expected to find in a MUSEUM....

Kathy Struwe

They have quite an exhibit on the Japanese internment during world war 2. Was quite impressive. It's a new museum so it's free thru December so there is no excuse not to go. There is plenty of parking and is handicap accessible.

We can't wait to visit again.

This is Chandler's newest museum. Its modern style is very appealing. My husband and I stopped in to see the Frank Lloyd Wright exhibit. Don't miss it. There are wonderful photos of Wright's architectural style, including pictures of the furniture. There are actually pieces from his furniture collection. And it's FREE. And don't miss the Adobe house out side and around the back of the museum.

Chris Plaisier

Great space. Good exhibits. The Ariel photos were stunning and the internment camp exhibit was well done.

The displays were informative, gave you an idea of how the people who were being held lived. Makes you understand that circumstances like that still takes place.

This is a wonderful gem tucked away behind the Chandler mall. The exhibits are well thought out and interesting. It's a great place to spend a bit of time and admission is free!

Chandler Museum is a unique place to experience local history with excellent interpretation. The most recent exhibits on the internment camps that existed nearby during WWII were really well done. This is a place worth a stop. Look forward to their new building in late 2018.

Paul Rogers

Excellent presentation

Phyllis Bardliving

It wasn't appealing to the grandkids. Perhaps if I had gone by myself I would have enjoyed it more.
