Pat Finn

Such a wonderful place. Guide was full of very detail information about the archaeological site and the Indains that had built it

Caitlin Encinas

Great ruins, but our tour guide took a long time in very hot weather to explain some things. Sometimes it felt way too long. They were very educational, but the tour took a long time in the heat because of it. Great for kids, and people who want to study native ruins though.

Very nice museum. They also conduct tours of the archaeological digs around the area. The place looks small from the outside, but it's really big once you get in there. Very nice and informative staff.

Alex Ho

Jeff provided the perfect level of detailed commentary needed to really appreciate this place. You have to first purchase tickets at the museum which is tucked away, then get shuttled to the site.

Amazing, mystical place. The tour guides are knowledgeable, interesting and enthusiastic and this is infectious. You get to go all over the site, including the Hidden Staircase - quite a rugged climb, and I've been on a few hard hikes. The whole area is eerily quiet and feels different. The views from there are incredible. The connection between ancient peoples and a much more ancient volcanic fissure is fascinating. A must-see if you're in the area. Be prepared for a long hike and a long tour but you will be amply rewarded.

My family had a great time touring the ancient ruins and climbing an ancient staircase. Super friendly staff and a great stop if you're in this area. We traveled 6 hours to visit the area landmarks. Worth it!

I visited this location in the mid-nineties when the initial excavations were taking place. I was with a school group and we were able to experience some very interesting things. I recently drove back out to experience this location again. Sadly the weather did not permit a tour of the site but I spent a good part of a day touring the museum and speaking with the curators. There is some small controversy involving the use of the term catacombs. There are burial chambers at the site but they aren't technically catacombs. By reliving my experiences from the nineties, I was able to answer some questions that the curators had and we were able to come to some more concrete conclusions about some of the more mysterious aspects of this amazing place. Even if you aren't interested in Native American ancient history, there is a ton of information about the early days of Springerville to peruse. I definitely recommend paying this museum a visit and maybe pick up a hat or keychain.

Have to say they do such a excellent job with this museum. So much to see and discover. Was amazed.

Clayton Lang

The small museum is free and very nicely done. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The tour was very interesting and we'll paced. The hike is more strenuous than was indicated but the leader took his time. There is a final climb through a crevice that not everyone can do. Be aware that there are no longer 3 tours a day. The one at 11 has been cancelled.
