Beautiful facility, and a great way to stay out of the heat during the summer. The only area of opportunity I’ve seen is that some of the hands-on attractions are in disrepair. The giant water table is great fun, but several parts of it were not functioning over the various times we visited this summer.

Lewis Greene

This is definitely a “hands on” kind of place! So much to see and do! The kids loved the maze of mirrors and physics demonstrations. Almost all the exhibits were working and in great shape. We planned on spending an hour or so here and ending up staying for almost four hours. I was super impressed that almost all the videos in the exhibits and displays were captioned! It is a little pricey, however they do currently offer a summer pass for half price, which made it a little better for our budget... 4 admissions tickets and two passes to the maze of mirrors for 45$. It really is geared towards kids, but super fun for everyone in the family!

Nick Kontz

It can be a fun way to spend an afternoon, but like people have mentioned it is a little pricey and sometimes exhibits are out of order due to the volume of people that go through here. That being said, they do have some really cool events (and after hours stuff for adults) that add some value back.

Liz A

The Best! Kids loved the water exhibit as always. Parents got splashed as always. Will keep coming back for new exhibits.

Google Reviews

Lots of things broken in the museum but it was decent overall.

Chris Bauer

we attended the Pompeii exhibit, what an amazing and humbling presentation of artifacts. The presentation was very well put together. we checked out the rest of the facility which is geared towards the kids. the planetarium looks like a great exhibit to check out as well

This place is great but has no customer service for phone requests. They don't answer the phones, when they do, they transfer you to leave a message. If you need immediate information or help do not count on them even if you are a member.

Basic B.

I'd say if you go here make sure to get a culture pass from the library. Alot of the exhibits were broken. Most everything is geared towards kids who can read. Don't get me wrong they have some cool exhibits, but with a 5 year old some of it was a bit tough.

Soleil Winfrey

I came here once as a child and loved it more then anything. I have since come back not only for school field trips and my high school prom, but recently for a trip with my boyfriend and his little sister and I’m pretty sure she was just as excited as I was when I went for the first time.

Marc Tassin

I really enjoyed the science center, but I feel like they've skewed their presentation a little too young. The bright colors and "fun" designs sometimes got in the way of the science. I will say that I definitely enjoyed the special Pompeii exhibit. It seems like they do a really nice job putting these together.

Eric Elliott

Glad we had reciprocal membership from another Museum. It was okay for free. I would say at least 60% of the activities were either completely broken or run down. We encountered so many that just didn't work. There are some highlights such as the gastric stomach that will get a giggle out of almost any child (or adult), the chair lifts, or the top floor solarium chairs. This was our first visit here so not sure if it's typical for things to be out of service, but I really didn't expect that.

Michael Piscopo

I'm not sure what happened to this place, but if you're planning on going just for the permanent exhibits I have only one word to describe it: Sad. Many of the stations are in a state of noticeable disrepair, and the majority of them are totally unchanged since I went as an elementary school student...in 1997. I understand that the permanent exhibits are mostly geared towards younger kids, but man, if you're an adult that wants a bit of stimulation, you should expect to drop about $50 per person to see the traveling exhibits, or even just the planetarium. It's honestly kind of a bummer seeing the AZ Science Center become such a cash grab for so little actual content, I suggest skipping it unless there's a specific traveling exhibit you want to see. As it is, it's really just an overpriced convention center.

John Cash

Customer service is absolutely pathetic. It has been over a week since I emailed all my contact info inquiring about fee's related to my employers discount. I left all my contact info with a clear message as well as leaving a friendly voicemail . I won't set foot in this business in the future as they've ruined my plans to take my grand kids.

Jacob Teragouchi

Pretty cool place I visited several times as a kid, which is the demographic they seem to be targeting more. It's relatively cheap though there's usually a groupon out for it too. It's a decent way to do something cool and indoors and kills several hours especially with the younger crowd.

Isoka Webber

This place is mostly catered to children which isn't what I expected with the Children's Museum being so close. This is definitely a place for kids and isn't worth the admission price. It was nice to see alot of interactive displays but if you're a science-loving adult, I'd look elsewhere.

Brad Singleton

This is the second time I have brought my family here and things seem to have deteriorated in the year and a half since our previous visit. It seems that more than half of the exhibits were malfunctioning including the large outdoor water center that my children enjoyed the previous time we visited. I hope they work to improve their educational areas rather than working towards hosting social gatherings. Very disappointing.

Stella Magalowski

Went as part of late night Intel group invite. This place is awesome! Fun hands on displays. We saw the Pompeii exhibit beautiful, informative, and awesome. Volcanic theatre room great show. Planetarium theater & show was awesome too!

Justin Rodriguez

The museum used to be really cool when it first opened. Now there is so much that is dated and broken. It’s very disappointing.

Ryan Felipe

Had a great time with my daughters class the imax movie was very good. This was my 3rd time going with my daughter and every time we have a great time.

Faith Firestone

My husband went with our adult son and 15 year old. Nothing here for adults. Its a Science museum pretty much for kids under 12. If you enjoy truckloads of screaming kids and broken exhibits then go for it.

Joe ASU

It’s sad that with our $200+ annual membership there are displays that were broken a year ago that are still down every month we have come in. We are not renewing our membership. No maintenance accountability roots from poor management engagement.

Amy Thompson

This is a fun place to learn things. They have hands on activities, the staff is friendly, they also have a planetarium. My work has a free admission day which is helpful for famies.

Szilvia Valdez

We had such a good time ! It doesn’t just show things like regular museums but keep the kids attentions with different activities. I found the place creative and fun. I saw some comments ppl had complained for the price :( I mean 60 dollar for the whole family 4 floors full of activities and place to learn !!!! If you don’t think it worth it you are that kind of person who’s never gonna be happy with anything we arrived early and almost ran out of time ! A lot of things waiting and the price absolutely reasonable!!!!!!

Kasey Jacobs

So with the mixed reviews and the overall rating of 4 stars I decided to go and check it out. Let’s just say this is mostly for children and not adults. Not worth the price for admission. Even the planetarium show was a waste of time for adults.

Wendy Thompson

The things that worked were cool but there was a lot of exhibits not working and then the really cool stuff you had to pay extra for. And it seemed like it needed some updating. Not really worth the money and time to be able to go.

Ashley Powell

The Phoenix Art Museum is visually beautiful. The second Sunday of each month is free to visitors. There are special events that cost a minimum amount of money. We entered to 25,000 paper butterflies scattered along the walls and ceilings. Amazing! Especially nice staff who will direct and answer questions for you. Three floors of changing and permanent exhibits. The room of fireflies is intriguing. The store is fun to wander through. Some street parking and lot parking available. It didn’t disappoint.

Carlos Castillo

Amazing place! Love the unique pieces. Especially from Pompeii.

Leanna Walker

I went to the AZ Science Center for their Pompeii exhibit and Super Volcano show in the planetarium. It was all very neat. The staff was friendly and helpful, the facility was clean, we parked in the garage right by the center so it wasn't a long walk. There's a cool area with some interactive water feature for kids (made me want to be a kid again, looked very fun). I will definitely go back for other exhibits. I could see being able to spend a day here w/ kids and keeping them fully entertained all day.

Shwetha Shivkumar

Good Indoor activity center and very Innovative displays for almost all age groups. Fun place for family and friends group.

Nicole Paige

Have had year long memberships through Goupon. I also love that your EBT card can get you in for four people / $3 any day. also, if you check out culture passes from your library you can get two people in for free most any time. We have visited so many times. Definitely take advantage of the free refills at Bean Sprouts. Bring snacks, plan ahead to eat in the eating areas. To get through the whole museum takes four or more hours. Lots of Hands-On experiences for children, areas for babies, andenough interesting stuff for adults.

McKenna Newton

This would be a great place to bring kids. I just wish it was a great place to bring adults. Exhibits are hands-on but not too in-depth—they’re a little overly simplistic to appeal to kids. I learned some fun facts but was often left wanting more information and explanation. It’s a nice air-conditioned time-killer and if you have curious kids they’ll probably love it. But if you’re an adult wanting to expand your mind and gain a better understanding of the world you live in I think you’d be better (and more affordably) served by a good documentary.

Deepak Natarajan

Great place for kids and adults, Planetarium is amazing.. can’t see everything in a single day.

Colleen Clark

Pricey. Some employees not the friendliest. And, why would you close snack and drink areas an hour before the actual center closes?

cassie Larson

Just spent $115 to take my family to the new Mummy exhibit. We we're so excited! Now after being it was the biggest waste of time and money Ever! The whole exhibit will take about 10 min to go through but even after that we had to deal with rude staff members. My sons grandmother decided to spend $100 in the gift shop buying the kiddo toys to discover that they don't have bags for everything .You can biy a tote rhough. So there we are trying to navigate the science center with an armful of stuff so then we left. Most disappointing day ever .Don't waste your money.

Jason Fellenz

the Arizona Science Center is an awesome place. If you have a kid or kids they would love it there they have so many cool things for your kids to play with an to do. I would recommend any and every family to come here also the public library will give you free admission if you can go to the Phoenix Library and check it out they only have so many at each Library but find out when they will be returns and you get to admissions free for a week you can go anytime once for each pass you get.. My family and I had a wonderful time.. We only had 1 hour so I would come at 10 a.m. when they open because there is plenty to do for many hours of fun. #FamilyFun

Annie P

Great place for kids as well as adults to explore and understand scientific facts rather in a fun way. Kids can get some hands on too. Overall great experience. Definitely would love to visit again.

FE203

Great place for mainly kids and teens

Nnea Mcgee

Took our 6 year old for the first time, I was concerned it would be a little too adult for her, just alot of reading, but with her friends she had a ball. I am so excited to come back for a date night with my husband that sounds like so much fun. Year passes are cheap and totally worth it!!

Amanda Rogers

I remember how much I adored this museum as a kid, and it does still have some neat things, like the weather simulator. But when I went there today with a culture pass, I was admittedly disappointed. There is very little aimed at adults or even at an adult level. Too many of the displays are partially broken. And a lot of the displays that work are really dated-- CRT screens with clunky rollerball and button pointers. I'm fairly sure many of the displays haven't been technologically updated since the 90s at best. This is despite the high entry price, the fact that all shows cost significantly extra, and the newer exhibits that have opened there, including a subscription-based maker space. This science center would do better to update their displays on the human body and brain, to take better care of their exhibits, and to add a bit more adult-friendly content.

Michelle Flores

I purchased my 'Mummys of the World' tickets online and when I went to pick them up at will call I was told I then also had to purchase General Admission tickets. I didn't see anywhere online where it was stated to attend the Mummys exhibit we had to purchase additional GA tickets, and the total for the exhibit and GA was $60 for 2 people. The science center does not have a lot to offer, many things needed repair, and its small. The mummy exhibit was cool

Travis Ballestero

We purchased a family pass and come here a lot. Just tried the cafe beansprout inside the science center and this quaint little place was absolutely enjoyable. It happened to be my birthday on this day and the crew made it a point to make it special, the cashier Brent was polite and funny. The food is fair priced and well prepared. The food is served on paper plates which was perfect for the kids. I would recommend this place for a nice lunch, you won’t be disappointed.

Jennifer Johnson

Super fun place! The mummy’s exhibit was so cool! Real mummy’s! It was so informative and exciting with lots of hands on science exhibits for kids. A lot of natural minerals that were found locally and some interesting recycling exhibits on the 3rd floor..

po kyaw

I have been there and it is pretty cool to experience how wind, rain, and fire feels like.

Kimberly d

So disappointed. The Arizona Science Center sure is run down now. Half of the interactives don't even work, and that is what the science center is all about. We usually stay all day, but since nothing worked right or at all we left in an hour and a half. I feel so bad for those who paid for a yearly membership. We won't be back for years, if at all : (

Chela p

The first time we came here was when they had the NFL experience back in 2015. We spent hours here and had a lot of fun. Now they have the Pompeii Exhibit and we really wanted to check it out. It was about $89 for 3 adults, that covered the main entrance and the exhibit. It was a trip to look at all that stuff that was brought over from Italy.

Christine Faber

This is great for big kids and little kids alike. Definitely something for everyone and the visiting exhibits are always a treat.

Ashley Catherine

Fun little place to go. Especially if you love being a kid at heart! #organicad #lfthx #azsciencecenter

Vallel Blanco

I went today and it was ok. Is good to spend a few hours. There were many broken things, that I would expect to be fixed and working for the price. I just found that the tickets online are cheaper than what I paid in there, check before you go.

BlueDevil 13

I wouldn't advise eating here, the food is blah and tastes like a cardboard box and it's expensive because it's proclaimed to be "organic", even so the menu is small and is geared toward children which is great for the science center atmosphere. The service is fast but I still suggest bringing food from home.

Marylou Munoz

Love all the features ! Fun educational place !

Shantell Santiago

A great place to beat the heat & learn some REALLY cool things!!

Robert Beltz

I find it hard to believe that this is rated so highly. Yes, there some good exhibits, brain, body, some physics, and the mirror maze. However, for what it costs to visit this place, I expect everyone of these displays to actually work. Some did, but many did not. The excuse I got was, well, everything is heavily used. Wow. Sorry, I can’t recommend this place.

Mark LoGiurato

I would recommend this for very young kids as the offerings are not that great for older children or adults. Sparse museum with interactive activities, but too expensive for the value received.

Courtney Rose

Was cool enough however they advertise turning daily admission into a membership, well as we were leaving we stopped to do that (4:55pm, they close at 5) ( paid $100 for 5 of us to get in). They told us they couldn’t do it because they closed the registers down. In their advertisements they need to specify that the cut off time is obviously before they close.

Joshua Haggerty

Many very dated and non functioning items. Doesnt seem to be maintained very well. Cost $18/person, way overpriced for what it is and there are a lot of extra charges for other exhibits. Maybe worth $8-10/person. Dont think I will cone again.

Thomas Shepherd

There was like a hundred people in line and line wasn't moving way too expensive to stand in line for that parking in the area is too damn expensive as well

Liza Matrecito

I have been coming here for ages. My nephew enjoyed it, but a lot is not working. Overall it was okay. We did the planetarium show on the solar system... if you don’t have some background in Physics and/or astronomy, don’t go to this talk. 1) The person doing the talk was going so fast that it was hard to understand what they were saying. By the time you figured out the words you missed the next 5 sentences that were said. Sounded like I was in an auction. 2) Very advanced talk. Not much explanation, and if there is, it is at a high level. I was okay with it because I understood it, but not everyone will (especially little ones). Overall, for the price, it is not worth it anymore. I got in for free due to a membership that’s why it received 3 stars but if I had to pay, my rating would be a lot lower.

Amanda Hudson

Kinda boring if you don't have kids. The line for the online vouchers was extremely slow. I suggest paying the extra two dollars per person to get in much faster.

Noelle Johnson

Fun way to get out of the heat! Definitely a good spot for school-aged children. It gets pretty crowded on the weekends so plan accordingly.

Julie Ramos

Love the science center. We’re members and my kids love it. I did take one star down because the extra exhibits are always underwhelming. The main stuff is enough for my kids. There is a lot to see and do here.

DejaVu Jinx

Took my mother here for her birthday to see the Pompeii exhibit. It was amazing. The people who worked here were all super nice. Even after we left and found put my mom lost her key fob. They were all super helpful and let me retrace my steps until I found it. Can't wait to go back to see more. Also, big thank you to the people running the Pompeii exhibit and the info desk for being a big help and being awesome about it.

Gregory Place

This museum was terrible from the moment we got there. Trying to find the entrance in a wheelchair was like going through a maze. Then having to use the men's room as soon as I got there was another whole issue. To use the handicapped stall you have to wait until every man using a urinal is done and gone as there is no room to get by. I and my guest were not only upset as to all the broken equipment but couldn't believe how much wasted space in such a large building; very poorly designed. Also many exhibits are very outdated. Will never go back and wouldn't recommended this place to anyone.

Erica Clark

We had a great time here looking at the different science models and descriptions. Lots of great hands-on science activites. Could be a bit bigger but we had a great time!

Sylvan Gabriel faust

If you don't have kids or you're over the age of 12 DO NOT bother going to this place. They overcharge for admission and falsely advertise a 3 hour entertaining expirience. The only way possible to stay there for 3 hours is to spend even more on all of their additional events that should be included. Easily their most played game, the brain wave battle, where you put helmets on and see who can move a ball faster with brain waves IS FAKE. I invite anyone to put the helmets on the table and press the play button and see the scam in action. Anyone can get through the entire place twice In 2 hours or less. At least I did. You'll be left bored surrounded by badly behaved kids and employees that don't care about your expirience. Truthfully if the staff decided not to show up one day and let the place fall into disorder and chaos it would be the same as always. The "public parking" will charge you 15$ to park there for 2 hours and claim their rates changed unless you validate parking. 18$ a person? 5$ sounds more reasonable but even then I won't come back. I'd rather tour a trash facility, total waste of time and money!

We prepaid and preregistered days ahead of time to take 2 girl scouts to the mummy exhibit on the last weekend it was in Phoenix. The museum had offered a special for girls scouts which included a patch for their vest and a scavenger hunt. We drove up from Tucson (over 100 miles) and arrived shortly before the time we had preregistered for. Upon checking in at the front they told us the event was sold out, that there were no more patches and there would not be a scavenger hunt and then asked if we wanted a refund!! How can they sell us tickets and then say the event was sold out?? This left the girls disappointed and us very frustrated and disgusted. Isn't this the whole point of preregistering for an event - to secure a part in the activity as well as to give the company a head count on how many have signed up (and PAID) for the event? I will not be returning anytime soon.

James Kamb

My wife and I visited to see the Pompeii exhibit. With so much to see we actually spent about 5 hours at the center. Pricing can get step, so visit your library for free tickets (if available). We watched the 3D movies for Africa and the ocean and I highly recommend you do the same. The experience was wonderful and both movies were informative and exciting. For is pricey, but supports the center so budget for it or bring food to enjoy on the 4th floor terrace. Visit the website to see what new and amazing exhibits they have...Pompeii was very cool and had so many exhibits. We can't wait to see what is next!

Susan Woelper

We learned so much in one afternoon after going to the Science Center. It was definitely worth exploring.

Edgar Muro

Terrific for kids and adults.

benjamin Droney

I took my classroom to this location last year and expected great things, having gone to the science center many times as a young child myself. Upon arrival the cashier at the front desk told us there was no entry fee. Every student brought money to pay but none ended up paying. Several months later my school received an invoice with copious amounts of fees of exhibits which we have no recollection of attending. Never again will I visit this location.

Kevin Delvalle

Our first stop was the Mummy Exhibit. I was very impressed with this particular exhibit. I have been to several other mummy exhibits throughout the years and I have to say this was the most informative and inclusive of world-wide occurrences that I have seen. No phones, cameras, or video are allowed inside the exhibit itself. You start out as a group but you can go as fast or as slow as you would like. I took a bit longer than the rest of my group and it was not a problem. There is a lot of written information as well as the displays themselves. This particular exhibit is a rotating one so it is not always at the Science Center.

SOKO MAN

The children's 'water' play area in the outdoor section near the ticket table is completely neglected. I don't think there was one exhibit there working. Get a repair crew in there ASAP - where is the maintenance, upkeep, and care for your exhibits? Kids go to the science center for hands on learning - won't go again for a long time, nor would I renew my membership due to the negligence in quality. Review will be updated once you fix your poor exhibits.

Kristen Kahne

Really only good if you have kids... Most of the interactive exhibits were broken because of this. The general admission doesnt get you very far.

Dan Garcia

We actually went for the planetarium, because my daughter really likes the planets. But, of course, u can't just get into the planetarium, they make u buy a general admission ticket, which was $36 for wife & I. Then the planetarium runs u another $18. Plus $12 for parking (apparently they validate and u get 50% off, unfortunately no one bothered to tell me about this). Add a $40 stop in the gift shop and it's a $100 afternoon. And the planetarium show we saw, Ice Worlds, was really disappointing. After listening to Jason, or Steve, or Cooper blather on for 15 minutes, they finally got to the show. You only see a glimpse of the planets for a few minutes and the movie itself was only about 15-20 minutes and then another 10 minutes of some roller coaster effects. And I was surprised how poor quality the video was. I was expecting alot more, especially for the $$$ admission cost. There were a couple of decent kids displays and my daughter enjoyed moving from room to room to play. But for toddlers there was only a couple of age appropriate exhibits. It's really geared more towards older kids. Also a little surprised for a science center there was no dinosaur exhibit. In fact, there isn't a planetary exhibit either, also strange given that they have the planetarium in there. Overall, we were unimpressed and for the amount of $$$ spent, definitely aren't planning to return.

Tamamsumaya Rattlesnake

This place not worth to visit such a scam strategy once you pay for the admission ticket you will be surprised to know that you have to pay another ticket for exhibit, so if you think that's all you are mistaken, there is another additional ticker for 3D theater wow !!! I want to see only the exhibit why shall I pay for admin ticket is like they force you to see the entire place or pay for it, Dont go there !!!

ihatedannyromero

Great activities and exhibits. Hands on. Also had planetarium and other exhibits

Mike Wasdin

It was just so-so, but not worth what they charge to see everything. Price of admission is $18.00 which would be reasonable, except that does not really get you into anything. That just lets you walk around and look at the displays, which are not that great. If you want to go to the Planetarium or any of the other exhibits, they charge for every single one. So, if you want to see everything, expect to drop about $50.00 or more per person. I went during the Mirror Maze exhibition. Let me save you some money. If you have ever been to the house of mirrors at a carnival, you have seen it, so don't waste your money. The fact that they charge extra for this is a ripoff. Be sure to validate your parking if you do go or expect to pay even more on your way out. This is an over-priced experience that will leave you feeling like you were ripped off in my opinion.

Angela Anger

The Science Center was a wonderful place to spend time. I specifically went to see the Mummy exhibit, although I would like to return again when I have time to see the rest. Parking was close and only $1 with validation. It seems to have a lot of exhibits geared toward children.

J-WILL Guide The Wheel

Good experience for Kids. Shout out to brother Bobbi for the hospitality

lena camou

It's snow week! And the cosmic playground is awesome.

Lam Romney

The Science Center is a great place to take the family and to go on a school field trip. It's 3 levels of fun! The demonstrations are fun to watch and they involve the kids. It's a great place to go in the summer to get out of the heat. They have a wide variety of exhibits to learn from. From aviation to the human body.

Joy Caloca

loved it. ist huuuge so may school buses and kids... still we as visitors still fit perfect. our 4 year old looved it.

Frannell Dousten

Always fun to come here and have my children explore and have fun while learning great things

msalyssagarcia

had a very good time! super fun and interactive. learned alot!

Alice Daniels

Science Center that the kids had been to before and love. I was completely amazed at how much hands-on activities they have throughout the center. What is your interest? They probably have a room for that!

Heather Thornley

Went to see the mummies of the world exhibit, exhibit was short and didn't really have as much as it sounded like it had. Was neat but I was kind of disappointed in the amount of information or lack there of in some displays. What really got me was the price, admission is a double charge, you have to pay general admission to the science center as well as a secondary ticket to see the mummies. It was incredibly expensive for the 45 minutes it took to look at every display and read every information board. But once you've paid $12 to park across the road, you don't exactly want to back out once you get to the admission desk to find out it's another $56 just for 2 adults. If I'm not interested in the rest of the stuff at the science center why should I have to pay for it, looked at a couple things nearby while waiting to get in to the mummies but the excess of kids just messing with displays and not taking them in made it too difficult to look at things anyways.

Tidesmanian Devil

Went to Pompeii Exhibit yesterday. Probably the best display and/or event they have had at the Arizona Science Center (although Technopia was pretty cool). I'm giving 5-stars for display itself as it is simply amazing to be looking at artifacts and items over 2,000 years old dug from a volcanic eruption. My only complaint/nitpick is how they handle the castes of the entombed bodies. First, we all admit on some level that that THIS is what we're all paying for. However, why make it into some grand finale that people feel they have to rush through the other areas of the display in anticipation of finally seeing what they are really paying for. And what the heck is the deal with the Blue Coat guides and how they play a hand in the final presentation?? Cheesy at best and tasteless at worse, especially when the cheesy 4D movie (whatever that was supposed to be) with smoke and vibrating floor were added. Again, cheesy at best, tasteless at worse (I know it was 2,000 years ago and a natural event, but imagine something similar for a 9-11 event display!). To top it off the display ends at . . . a gift shop!! Way to go Science Center! Way to cheapen this amazing display where people are literally leaving the final area speechless and funneling them into an area where we have to pass through sales on T-shirts and paddle and ball sets. Even with the questionable presentation, Pompeii is well worth the price, especially if you are a member.

Christopher Hendricks

Lower your prices a bit. You're not Disneyland. Worth visiting yes. But there are a lot of families who want to go but can't afford the high ticket price.

MrUnknownPlayer

To crowded in my opinion, kids were running around everywhere unsupervised so I had to keep my 2 year old close or she would get ran over by bigger kids if there parents would do there jobs it would be better and also it’s not just parents its camp leaders apparently they don’t care what the kids in their group do for example we were waiting in line to try a wind machine and there was a boy on it for 20 minutes trying to do it Refusing to get off and not once did I see an adult talk to him and try and teach him about sharing or having to give other people a turn So my wife said something and he got off but what does that say about the camp leaders there sitting in air-conditioning texting on their phones not caring what the kids are doing. but other than all that it’s a great place and the staff was very friendly.

Ken Latz

It's an okay science museum. We've been to better in Chicago and San Francisco. Biggest complaint is EVERYTHING has an additional charge. The planetarium, the movie, to ride the space bike, to enter the traveling exhibit they advertise so heavily. We've been traveling the country with our four kids and have never had to pay this much for admission and then extra fees for all the things that are the museum's biggest draws. Wish we would have gone to the zoo.

Jinnelle Hutton

We were pretty disappointed. Half or more of the interactive exhibits weren’t working. If you’re taking children just to learn it’s fine, but to have fun while learning??? It wasn’t worth the money.

Jason ZH

General admission, which is pretty steep only gets you a few kids’ toys that are free in LA’s science center.

My husband and I spent several hours there this weekend. We really enjoyed the interactive features and information. It's no Science and Industry (Chicago) or LA museum but it's still a fun activity to get out of the heat and spend the better part of the day. Minus a star because there were several exhibits with broken or missing features.

Chloe Master

Attended this weekend with my whole family. Everyone had fun from my parents to my little nieces. Some really cute pic options at this place too.

Lola Feng

My family and I had amazing time!

We got an annual pass on Groupon, so right away our first visit was worth the annual pass. We couldn't get enough of exploring all that there is to do. The highlights for my kids are the Forces of Nature, where you experience all different types of weather, All About Me, where you learn about bodies, babies and more, and Get Charged Up, where there are hands-on activities for kids to learn and explore. It's great!

Justin M

18/ adult and 13/ kid It is a little bit cheaper if you order tickets ahead of time online and pick them up at will call. The Mummy exhibit adults were 11.95 and kids were 9.95. $3 for validated covered parking for 2 hours. I totally thought the cost of entry would cover everything but it didn’t. The mummy exhibit was very cool. You could see everything in the glass displays just no photography or phone use. The staff was friendly answering questions in the exhibit. Overall it was a fun experience but the cost seemed way over the top that’s why I deducted two stars.

Inez Boyd

I have been going to the science center for 20 years now and I love it every time. The different exhibits and and experiences offered. The only thing I suggest so going from the first floor up to see everything and you will need to go a few time to really accomplish that but lot of people take the elevator and get lost. But if you're up for a great experience and a bit of walking. Handicap accessible.

Teresa Sims

We did the solar system show in the big dome and it was a guy talking the whole time looking at pictures. $9 for adults and had to pay for my 4 year old. Bored out of my mind. We assumed it was a video but wrong. Also the cosmic playground charges parents access just to sit there babysitting our kids. Shouldn't this be free as we already paid a hefty price to get into the science center?

Harper Cowley

Saw the Mummy exhibit when we went - phenomenal. The science center is a great place to bring kids: allowing them to explore different topics in a hands on, fun way to promote learning.

Colleen Anderson

Small, old, and not maintained. Half the exhibits are not functioning or broken. Not worth the $. (8/4/19).

Greeny- Still

It’s a really nice place, but it’s not worth the price. A lot of the exhibits are for children which is not bad. But you do have to pay extra for the main exhibits.

Kate Lynn

My son loves going here especially to see the revolving exhibit, planetarium, and imax featuring science based movies. Parking is validated and I paid $5 last time. Groupon discounts available and the library offers culture passes giving free admission to many places including the science center.

Gale Jancsics

Very disappointed. Dirty and dated. A lot of things were broken and many things cost extra. The entrance fee is over priced. I do not recommend this museum. My 8 year old daughter thought is was terrible . The galaxy experienced is Xmas lights and Saran Wrap. A man walked around and picked up broken pieces and Saran Wrap. We ended up at the Heard museum and my daughter stated”even though it’s smaller it’s much more interesting, I guess people don’t know what a good science museum is. I preferred the art museum.” The science center ethically should not be charging those prices. They must know the state of the Science Center does not have a decent standard as others across the country. Ethically I feel they are taking advantage of families. Very disappointing. Also we found out the last hour at the art museum is free. Good to know as all people should have access to art regardless of income. We travel on a regular basis across the country so we are knowledgeable about many museums and cultural opportunities.

Mary Cassiday

My kids (15 & 8) both loved it

Ornida Garcia

Absolutely love when I can make my family do #FamilyTime

This place does not have a lot to offer for the entry fee price. We opted to do a day pass which was about $80 US for one adult and one child. You would think that would get you into everything but it doesn't. That got me into the science center, the featured exhibit as well as two shows. There were at least two more shows we would have had to pay much more for to see. We saw the mummies exhibit which was alright. If you've never seen one, maybe you'd like it more. Not a whole lot to see. The planetarium show was fairly typical. It could have been vastly improved by removing the soft spoken employee and replacing him with a decent audio track. It was tedious and I regret not listening to my instincts and leaving right then. I did after at least 35 boring minutes went by. The Volcano show was really fantastic and about the only thing I will want to remember. As for the science center itself, it's not that it wasn't well done, it's just that there just isn't enough of it to justify the price. I was worried when we didn't get there until almost 1 p.m. as they close at 5 p.m. and I was really questioning the wisdom of paying extra for the two shows and mummies exhibit. Even after wasting the better part of an hour on the planetarium, 20 minutes in the mummies exhibit as well a good chunk of time in the Volvano show we still found we had time to spare, and even left about 20 minutes early after going back to a couple things for a second time. I wouldn't say don't waste your time. If you want value for your money, in my opinion you will not feel satisfied after leaving here. For all the cash they are taking in they could at least hire some people to put on little shows and demonstrations. I saw nothing of the sort, the picture in the ad I saw showed someone in a lab coat doing something with dry ice or something. That's the kind of thing I expected. Instead it took several minutes even just to find ANYONE working there to inquire about where the theater was. The first one didn't know! And the second one...DIDNT KNOW!! Edit: Forgot to mention that more than a few things on display didn't work or were missing integral parts to use them.

J Marie

I took an inquisitive just 5 year old. The museum seems dark and dated. Many activities in disrepair. I think the sponsors of them would be ashamed that their name is associated with them. Expensive entrance fee for what you get. Extra $$$ for each special exhibit. Most exhibits were geared to older than than a 5 year old. Biggest hit was the fireball stage, sand and water table, and the walk through stomach. She liked the plumbing connectors where you build pipes connecting to a drain, but all the kids were asking “where are the corner pieces”. There was maybe two corner connectors and lots of straight pipe. How hard is it to go to Lowe’s and get some? Ask for a donation needed today. It also seemed like most exhibits were more reading and less hands on. The things that were hands on, there was only one. There had to be at least 5-7 school groups here. They didn’t look like they were learning anything. Just running around, taking over the interesting exhibits, then moving on, then a new group came in. This also left little time for individuals to get close if there was something good. We like bugs, so were interested to see the “don’t forget to see our bug exhibit.” It looked like someone’s donated collection tossed up on a counter. There were some interesting specimens, but we wanted to learn where they were from. No one around, no details. Come on Phoenix, people travel all over to go to museums when they visit a city. This is a poor representation of our community. We drove 45 minutes to get here, and definitely will not be back.

Gerald Jones

Member for about four years, kids love it, many things to see and do, always something new.

Mackenzie Lahousse

Exhibits need some tlc because things didn't work. Get the museum pass for two free admissions but special exhibits and planetarium are extra. I rode the sky bike, which was fun, but five extra dollars when it should not be! I loved the Mummies Exhibit, which was worth the extra money! There are lots of mummies and wicked neat artifacts. It was definitely the highlight of my trip there. If you have children, there are hands on learning activities but it's busy! Overall, it's expensive without the culture pass but worth a visit for the Mummies (extra cost). I thought it was nice of the museum to not allow photos of the mummies out of respect for the mummies.

Michaela Griffin

Had a good time yesterday with friends. The science center is geared towards school age kids. My 7 year old had a great time. The younger kids had a good tie to just were a but less focused.

Sarah Kent

I'm always looking for fun things to do indoors to occupy my 2-year-old. Bonus for AZ Science Center - 2 and under are free, which made it affordable to go. The center is amazing, but I found that it is definitely more age-appropriate for elementary and up. But my little one still had a lot of fun pushing buttons to make things light up, etc, even if she didn't understand what each exhibit was about. She especially enjoyed the outside water area. I think it would be awesome if they could have a special area that is made for pre-school and under. I think it would make a lot of parents (and kids) happy.

Kendra Crispin

There are always interesting exhibits and events being held here. Including special events for members and adults. Been to the Pompeii and Mummies of the World special exhibits. They sometimes hold lectures related to the special exhibits, and I got to see three of them. Bring a member brings an invite to Donuts and Demos, which is a great family event. And the big screen and planetarium shows are fascinating!

Sara Kerrigan

Very fun, very informative. A good place for older kids that have had some science exposure. Not bad for littles, there just isn't as much for them. If you can get a good deal on a family membership (like through Groupon) it's a great deal, and the reciprocal agreement with other places is amazing! We used it a lot on trips to California and Utah.

Stephanie Bixby

Went with my 6th graders class and most of the displays are broken and the staff is rude. Not worth the 2 hour trip.

Haley Stovall

We had so much fun! Great family day!! My daughter is three and she had a BLAST!

Cecilia Anthony

I had a lot of fun here. It was geared for children more than adults... But I still loved it!

Wen-Ping Chen

The mirror maze was so fun to walk inside again and again. Unlimited experience with one ticket. The lady at the admission desk was so very nice. The 3D movie was also very good. Unfortunately, I was allergic to the moldy air on the fourth floor. Remember to park in the Heritage and Science Park Garage. The information zone will validate the parking for you and it's much cheaper.

Jeannette Konerth

Several areas the exhibits were out of order: water play area 3 out 5 not working; 4th floor only 1 bike for lighting light bulbs not working and 2nd b8ke missing, "insect display" was only beetles, and all about you area also had 3 out of order. Also too many extra costs for exhibits.

Eissa Martinez

Not worth it. Over crowded and not fun for the kids. Very outdated setup. If you park in the garage the prices listed are not the correct amount. It is for validated tickets. 2 hours is really $12. RIP off.

benjamin schenkman

The Science center is very educational and interactive. There is quite a bit to see here and is not too costly. The biggest bummer was most of the interactive exhibits were not working or just plain broke. Also if you would like to attend one of the films in the theatres at the science center, there is an additional cost for approximately the same price as going to the movies. If you have a big family or multiple people in your group, this can get costly very quickly.

Leila McClure

The only thing I'd keep in mind is that this museum is mostly for kids. But it's pretty big and the exhibits are good. I went to the special mummy exhibit which was great (and seemed more geared for adults).

Farid S.

This place is a bit of a scam. Many of the exhibitions are either uninteresting, broken, or run down. You get in and you have to pay extra for other stuff. There are some exhibits that are plainly lying to people, like the ball that moves with brainwaves. The cafeteria food was absolutely gross. There's a full room that's just plain ole tools, not even old ones or advanced ones but just plain regular tools. I could've taken my kids to home Depot for that. The exhibition that really took the cake was a shower, a plain ole shower with tile. Are kids from the jungle coming here that they need to see what a shower looks like?! Lastly, many of the exhibitions are just looping low resolution videos on a grainy old TVs. I can find more informative and entertaining content and play it for my kids off YouTube. The only reason we stayed is because we had promised the kids a good time. All they did was run around and ask us what a few of the things were but that was it. They just went from one exhibit to another over and over losing interest very quickly.

Lili Spurlock

Fun place for kids and even adults. The exhibition are priceless and unique. Is all hands on. It's a great experience. The employees are very nice. Many things to have fun with. We usually stay about 3 hours.

Anthony Milleant

It was fun and provided a lot of things to do and see. The price was a little high, and the food courts options were pretty limited.

I wonder where the dinosaur exhibit is. It felt like this museum is missing a lot of exhibits that should be included in a museum. It was very small as well, and it look me a little over 2 hours to walk through it. It has a history section on the first floor and I can't remember what else was there when I was there last summer... and then on the second floor they have a section for machines (pulley, levers, etc). Oh, I did like the pulley section on the second floor where you have to pull yourself up- get your workout in ;). They also have a bicycle sky ride thing which looks pretty sketchy except they do have a safety net in place below and the bicycle isn't really balancing on a rope as it's attached safely to a line above and below... People working there were nice and helpful too. Anyways, the museum was a bit small for my liking. I hope they add on more informative science sections in the future.

Lori Oberbroeckling

We had such a great time this weekend! Lots of exploration and hours of science-focused fun!

Abby Cotter

Main entrance closed for a private party. Had to wait and wait for someone to come and let us in as we were unable to use stairs. One very rude employee, no one answered our multiple phone calls. Many displays were broken. A disappointing experience. We have no desire to return and will go to other museums instead.

Mike Ruiz

pretty cool place. I notice a lot of the exhibits were not working or were broken there were hardly any staff on the floor which was kind of odd. our experience was okay nothing to write home about.

James Rodriguez

We went to the Arizona Science Center to check out the Pompeii exhibit that is being displayed till May 28th, 2018. This exhibit is amazing! It's not every day that you can see 1000 plus year old historic artifacts that are so well preserved up close and personal. The exhibit was laid out very well, had plenty of time to walk around read the facts and history behind each artifact, I would highly recommend the audio tour. Everyone should check it out before it leaves Arizona. The science center it self is pretty cool as well. Plenty of fun activities for adults and children alike.

The Pizza 411

Old or young, kid or adult, THIS is the place you want to be! You don't have to be crazy about Science... it's an all around fun and exciting experience from the giant IMAX movie theater, one of the most modern Planetariums in Arizona, and awesome special exhibits that are truly fun, incredibly educational, no matter what your age is. All this plus a outdoor water play area, a cafeteria that is clean, reasonably priced with good food! You can't go wrong here. .the staff is especially AMAZING! It doesn't get much better than this! I thought it was going to be a snore-fest (that I would be out of my mind with boredom) but it was quite the opposite! I found it incredibly enjoyable and I am an adult! My kids LOVED the place and they want to go back again and again and again! Plan to spend all day there because there is so much to do and see. Everything is in house with 4 floors of awesomeness!!!! They do a lot of 3D IMAX movies that the kids and adults love. The Planetarium is truly impressive in every way. The exhibit are ALL interesting and fun. My favorite is the "Forces of Nature" exhibit where you sand a platform and it simulates fire, snow, rain, earthquakes, volcanoes! I LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!! I know I already said this but it cannot be understated, the staff is incredible! They are working there because they have a strong love for what they are doing. They are pleasant, entertaining, fun, informative, and just everything awesome! I LOVE this place! I am going to become a member of the Science Center which has incredible benefits is you like going all the time as I do. GO HERE! You will seriously love it!

Jim DeLung, PhD

This is a great place to escape the heat with young children - AZ Science Center. Watch for special movie showings. We attended the special museum engagement - Pompeii The Exhibition and it was AMAZING!

Theresa sloan

Very nice place. I really spend a good time here.

Christopher Roberts

Great family fun!

Liz Mitchell

Place was ok, some stuff was dated and in need of repair. We spent the better part of the afternoon there. Kids enjoyed it but it wasn’t their favorite museum. We got to use our membership from back home to get in for free, otherwise we’d be a little disappointed.

Chiwawa

All in all a great place for kids (once)!Planatarium presenter was great. Added cost for planatarium and speciality exhibit was a turn off. Too many exhibits were broken or worn out. Cafeteria was closed. Didn't think I got my money's worth. A night and day contrast to the MIM! Needed more than one a day lab session. I really dont expect to ever visit again. Regreatible that one cant just pay for and visit the planatarium without buying a playground, I mean gen Adm SC ticket.

Brianna Borka

As an out of state visitor who hasn't been there before, I LOVED a lot of the interactive exhibits... but a LOT of things weren't working properly. (So glad the digital world stuff was working. It was a blast!) Even so I would be glad to come back in a few years when my nephew is old enough. We had fun, despite the holiday crowd on Monday. Also, having only two people manning the desk with the odd system of wristbands seemed really clunky and slow especially on a holiday. It was our fault for not thinking to buy tickets in advance- but if you didn't want everything, it was one wristband for general admit, one for the movie, one for the two of us that wanted to do skycycle and stuff had to be hand written on a bunch of it. It was exhausting just watching. Minnesota Science Museum seems to have lines down to an art form.

AMANDA RANDELL

Came here for the first time with my now husbands son. It was alright. Alot of the stations were neat but some needed some form of repair. You learned alot and it was fun. I went to see the solar system thing they had and it was cool but a little dull. You would think the money they are getting in admission would help them update some of the stuff and offer better things. They extra stuff is a little pricey.

Cam Kotton

I think that the fact they have small kids on display as mummy's is pretty messed up I don't need to see dead baby's just my thoughts

Melissa Zimmermann

Love this place and the traveling exhibits - Pompeii exhibit is really unique and worth every penny to see! I often go to play with all the regular stuff as well, it's a great place for the kids to run around and touch everything. They love the water area in the summer time and I love the air conditioning and the fact that I know they are learning something every time we go. I love our membership, it's well worth it. P.S. Check out Groupon for discounts.

Jamie Lynn

I had a total blast here with my family on vacation last week. We were in Phoenix to see the Pirates @ Diamondbacks series, but this place was within walking distance and easy to get to, so we took a break from all that baseball to check it out and enjoy the A/C for a few hours. And if I wasn't with a group I would've stayed MUCH longer. Lots to see, touch, feel, test, and experience. The platform with the thunderstorm and severe wind was really neat. Cool stuff in the gift shops, too. I didn't get to do the planetarium, unfortunately. My only quip: At the very beginning of the visit you pay them plenty to gain admission to the Science Center. You should NOT have to keep reaching back into your wallet again and again to pay for each exhibit a la carté. The older family members appreciated that there was always a restroom nearby. We all absolutely loved playing in there all day and highly recommend it. Fun and educational. And air conditioned. Lol

Jim Lane

Great exhibits with plenty of interactive engaging modes for kids from 3-95. The price was steep but out membership at our hometown museum help buffer the damage. Don’t forget to check out the sweet insect collection on the 4th floor!!

Javier Carlos

I love this place. I came here on my senior ditch day instead of partying/boating. Been here as a child and now as an adult. Only thing is that it hasn’t changed much in 10 years. It’s getting a little wear and tear and a few of the exhibits need renovation. I would check out every square inch of this place but do keep in mind there are lots of hand sanitizer which you will need. I’ve even been to a wedding here and it was nice as well. It’s well worth it.

Heidi B

Took my family here during our spring break and we all enjoyed it. Great for all ages. My kids are 6-16 and everyone had a great time. We spent about 2 hours here and wished we had about another hour. Parking is nearby and make sure you get your parking validated. It’s the difference between $12 to $3. We did a groupon deal and are excited to use the pass for other science museums on the list while we travel. I recommend starting on the top floor and working your way down but make sure you leave yourself enough time to enjoy the 1st floor at the end.

Isaiah Grant

My Family has gone for years and will continue for years to come

Alex Stephenson

Where is all the money they charge people going? Everything is old and broken. I use to come here when I was little about 13 years ago and it was the exact same thing when I brought my daughter. All together depressing overpriced and noisy. I think me and my daughter would have expanded our brains more eating paint chips.

Dixie Eddy

They advertise there is a mummy exhibit but after paying 60.00 for a family of 4 you find out to see the mummies(the reason you came in the first place) you pay an additional fee

Christopher A. Stacy

Going to the science center as a kid was AMAZING! Going back with my kids not so much, honestly seems neglected in some areas.... On our visit today half of the "push/activation" buttons did not work. And there where several signs saying "something wasn't feeling too well (out of order)" Yes I get that things brake down and need service or repair. But to charge full price for a ticket then everything should be working... In my opinion. They need to do a better job keeping things going, And making sure the guest have a better experience. Roughly $80 for 3 people in my eyes I felt was waisted.

Javier Colunga

This is a great place to bring family and friends. Children will have no problem finding something to kindle their imagination. Don't miss the current mummies of the world exhibition.
