This Museum is included in the category of Museum.
Nice exhibit in the heart of Fairbanks. 20 minute video is about 10 minutes too long and poor quality. Needs to be re-shot with newer equipment. But still a cool place to visit....pun intended. $15 to enter.
I give 4 stars for the effort of this museum. But please be advised. Great people who run it and wonderful customer service but it reminds me of someones garage where they turned it into an ice museum with a very cold AC. Its very "home made" nothing special. Cool sculptures.
This place was fun! The film was rather dated and low quality, but the host of the tour (Andy) was very friendly, fun and talented! My 19 year old son and I enjoyed the experience and even went down the ice slide! We had fun snapping photos with the sculptures and also enjoyed watching Andy make a rose ice sculpture with colors added in! We're from Arizona, so it was a unique experience!
Nic horšího jsem v životě neviděl.
One hour demo and experience Fun for kids too
(Translated by Google) It’s not really, it’s $15. (Original) 實在不怎樣,還要$15美金
Presentations were low quality and quite dated. But the ice-carving experience was nice.
The hours online said they were open, we paid for a taxi to go downtown only to find the door locked and the lights off. Not exactly good for business
Not worth the $30 for two of us. FIrst 20 minutes was a film about the ice sculpting competition. Then 30 minutes walking around the sculptures. Ended with Andy showing us a simple ice sculpting.
Very pricey for what it is. 20 minute film, and some rudimentary sculptures. None of the very cool sculptures that were posted online.
It is a cute little place, would reccomend first time visitors to see it. It's super kid friendly and is worth the trip. I went there as part of an art class, and it was really unique and talked alot about the ice cutting in the area.
We were really excited to visit in December, but it was closed.
My girlfriend and I had planned to visit the museum. With the help of GPS we were able to find the location. Unfortunately we drove around the block for a good 45 minutes before finding a parking spot, only to learn that the place had shut down. Bummer!

Great place to visit
Just closed

(Translated by Google) Cool! (Original) Bem legal!
The video at the beginning was lackluster. It looked like it was made in Movie Maker or something. However, the actual ice sculptures were great. The ice slide was fun and there are great photo opportunities. The Chinese guide was also funny and skilled. I would recommend you go here if you are vacationing in Fairbanks.
Closed during winter?!
Pretty small spot, but very unique! An older film gives you info and pictures on the art of ice scuplting. Then you're free to take some pictures in set up scenes or sled down an ice slide. Coats available to borrow too!
Really nice people, great show!
Fun place to go. Can take lots of pics and have live sculpting demonstration.
Quirky, thank goodness they had a sled ride. The ice carving movie was 20 min longer than needed and Ken Burns would of slit his wrists.
Hour long presentation. 20 min video, 20 mins in the room with the ice carvings, and a demo of ice carving at the end. I had fun, a little more expensive than I would have preferred, but next time I'm in town, I'll bring my family anyway.
very bad there was no bathrooms
I can do it tonight or tomorrow morning STUD
Gem in the rough. Must visit
Twenty minute video was too long, poor quality and like sitting through someone's own home video. There was no ice sculpting demonstration so it was walk yourself around maybe 10 sculptures, most of them designed for you to do selfies and then an ice slide. Nice people but not worth $15.
not that worth, but still nice
This sculpture is in downtown Fairbanks. Beautifully done!
Pretty and fun. Talented carvers
It was nice to visit the ice sculptures and to see a demo
Indoor sled ride was fun.
Cute place ! Beautiful ice sculptures you can sit on for great photo ops! And you have to try the ice slide ! Fantastic!
Kitschy dive of a place but definitely fun and memorable! Worth the visit. Be sure to do the ice slide.
Great tour guide and photo ops! The kids loved it!
This is a must see for tourist who can't attend the ic carving competitions in North Pole and Fairbank during the winter. Informational and amazing insight into the art and what it takes to put on a ice carving competition.
very small place kind of cheapl
its closed
this is not a museum
A very nice thing to do in Fairbanks
Amazing experience in the museum! Andy helped us to take a lot of good pictures in the museum and we enjoyed a great ice painting show. It was a memorable one-hour trip!
Andy did a great job at entertaining us! We loved everything. Definitely not a "typical" place. Very unique!
went to alaska to visit my daughter they took me there and me and my grandkids had an awsome time there they have stuff for the kids to do there but make sure you dress warm
Too much fun! Ice sculptures to explore and even touch after a short film that explains the art. Even a toboggan run (indoors!) to go down as many times as you want, all included in the price. The owner/operator will take your photos with your camera/phone while you pose. Well worth the visit.
Don't let the outside fool you. We were impressed with the short video and ice carving demonstration. The adults and kids both enjoyed touching and playing on the ice sculptures. This is a must if you are in the area. This is also wheelchair/powerchair accessible.
This place is below expectations but worth the money. I giggled my way through the experience and have not stopped talking about it. “You take picture here, Chiggy!!!!” I want to go back and take everyone I know.
This was so cool. Never been to an u w museum. It was a lot of fun. Cold but fun. You also get a personal ice carving show from the owner. It’s a must see just a little place. But it brought me make to my kiddo days. A ice slide, bar, stools, etc. it’s cheap and doesn’t take all day. You can add this in with something else you’re doing in the area.
It was little expensive but love the cold experience during summertime!
Not open
Smaller than I was expecting but still super fun!
Not too busy. Very friendly atmosphere ice sculptures and beautifully presented northern lights presentation.
Great time!!
Great ice sculptures. Kind and friendly staff.
Google says open 24hrs but we showed up Saturday (Dec 22) around 6:30pm and it was closed. We asked a neighboring store about it and they said the ice sculptures had been melted away about 2 weeks ago. We would have loved to see inside. Disappointed we didnt call before making the trip.
Came here when my husband and I first started dating. It was nice. However, I noticed that most of the photos on Google for this place are misrepresentations of the Ice Museum. Most are photos from Chena Hot Springs, so do not be fooled! Regardless, this was a nice spot to visit. Lived in Fairbanks for almost 5 years before moving back down to the lower 48.
Video at beginning was mediocre, but the actual ice sculptures and the demo make the price worth it. The host is very charismatic and makes it entertaining.
I liked the second half, but sitting thru he movie was tough. They really need to update the movie which must be at least two decades old. The owner was nice and engaging. I'd give the movie three stars and the exhibits four stars and the demo three stars. So like 3.3 stars. At fifteen bucks a head it's a good value, but fell a little below my expectations.
This was the most endearing experience ever!
Waste of money.. Please! Please rethink about going here. It isnt anywhere close to ice sculpture Olympics. Theres maybe 15 or less ice sculptures pre-made. First you sit in a old theater that smells horrible and watch a mini documentary about ice sculpting. Then you get to look at the premade ice sculptures through glass and you get to see about 4-5 close up in a room that you get to go into. Then you go and watch the guy sculpt a little piece of ice measuring about a foot by a foot into a picture...nothing special. and thats all! Boring, waste, etc.. Go elsewhere.
Wonderful, we loved the displays of the carvings that were done
not that big place. dos not worth the money you pay.
Fun, small place. They will show you one small movie about ice scripting competition. After that a small tour at ice sculptures they have on site. Good for kids. Entry fees are cheap, probably around 15 bucks per person.
Lots of fun after the movie playing around in and on the ice carvings from last years international festival.
We went in Spring of 2016 and it was incredible. My family and I had fun sliding down the slides and taking pics on the statues. We had a conversation with a long time employee Peggy about the museum. It was a memorable conversation that we still looking back upon fondly. I give this place 5 stars out of 5.
Very messy entrance. Flies Galore. Better to just go to the Aurora Ice Museum. Much, Much Better. The window outside is broken and the staff do not understand English very well.
The video was boring but everything else was cool.
Something really different. Would tell others to go.
Great place to visit! Also a great video on the Aurora lights set to music
Closed until may 11 says a sign on the door
Ok but I think it's become an overated tourist trap.
We had a bus full of old folks and everyone had a good time. Most of them went down the ice slide! Good place.
Great COLD VERY COLD
Very Low maintenance. Apart from 1 or 2 sculptures, nothing interesting.

Typical Museum. Lots of typical things that you would expect in a museum. It was just typical. If you like museums then you'll like this place
Nice
(Translated by Google) Great museum. The entrance was worth it. You can see a movie how the characters are made and then watch the characters in peace. Very cool! At the end, a small demonstration will be offered. So we were satisfied. (Original) Tolles Museum. Der Eintritt hat sich gelohnt. Man sieht einen Film, wie die Figuren hergestellt werden und kann sich dann die Figuren in Ruhe ansehen. Sehr cool! Am Ende wird noch eine kleine Vorführung geboten. Also wir waren zufrieden.
大師很親切 很有趣
Enjoyable show- worth the time, amount spent
Cold
My boyfriend is a pilot so I thought he would love it. Was I wrong.
Its kind of a guided tour. you start on the hour watching a video, then you get free time to interact with some ice sculptures, then there is a ice carving demo. My favorite part is the sled run, where you get to sled down an ice chute.
Love this place, so unique. A little pricy but if you haven't been before it's worth it.
Nice place and the people in charge are very nice and willing to help.
(Translated by Google) Great presentation, cool equipment and beautiful sculptures. (Original) Ótima apresentação, equipamento adequado ao frio e bonitas esculturas.

Ice sculptures are awesome!
I visited the Ice Museum in Fairbanks, AK in June, 2013 and was incredibly impressed. I’m guessing many tourists, like myself, seek out places to visit when the weather is comfortable. Hence, the only chance I had to see several ice sculptures (up-close and personal) was to visit an ice museum. I’m guessing there are not many ice sculpting museums in the world and visiting the one in Fairbanks (where I was visiting) was a no-brainer. The cost to get in was quite reasonable for the area and the ticket salesman was delightfully knowledgeable and passionate about his job, the museum, and Fairbanks! He made sure he asked everyone where they hailed from and through this, I ran into another visiting gentleman who lived in my city and had taught at the same school I had before he retired. The Chinese ice sculptor also did a wonderful job. I particularly liked the ice house where folks can go inside and get a picture of themselves sitting in the ice house at an ice table. Of course, it's really COLD in there but felt great since the outdoor temperature was unseasonably hot. Lastly, I also attended the evening Northern Lights show and was again impressed with the passion displayed by the actual photographer who had taken the pictures and put together the show. The incredible pictures were all synchronized with beautiful music which really brought out the overwhelming wonder of the Northern Lights. Just an FYI that this ice museum is very different from the ice museum located at Chena Hot Springs. The ice museum in Fairbanks is housed in an older building (old theatre), but does allow the visitor to sit in the auditorium without freezing. Except for the ice house and table, the visitor can look in at the ice sculptures/ice sculptor in comfort. I also liked the movie which explained the entire ice sculpting process. Additionally, the Fairbanks Ice Museum is an active sponsor of the world's largest art sculpting competition called "The BP World Ice Art Championships" that is done OUTSIDE in Fairbanks every year during February-March. However, I have no desire to visit Fairbanks, AK in February to view these marvelous artistic pieces in person. I'll gladly purchase a video or get some pictures. I recommend visiting both ice museums in the area to get a more thorough experience with the wonder of this type of art. The only disappointment was the fact that the Ice Museum does not sell souvenir embroidered patches or hat pins of the Museum for us avid patch collectors. I have a travel jacket and would have liked to have added this patch to my collection.
Fell asleep while watching the lights
I would be okay with a $5 admission... $15 is really too wrong for a 20 mins 140p video + outdated few ice sculptures
It looks sketchy outside, but great inside
Small but cool; no pun intended!
If you've never seen ice sculptures, it's pretty cool. After seeing the competition live, it's not the same...
This really felt like a tourist trap. If you can make it to the ice museum at Chena Hot Springs I would recommend that instead. You will be in and out in 5 minutes.
The web said the prices were $12 for adults, $11 for military and $6 for kids, when we got there the prices were $15 for adults and $10 for kids with no discount for military! After the person at the window was very rude we decided not to go because it was all lies.
Very interesting
More fun than we expected. Worth the time and money.
Great experience!! Fun!!
I was great fun took pics rode the slide
As a tourist from Florida, I found the short film and the time seeing the ice sculptures in the giant walk-in freezer very fascinating.
Imagined lot more than it was...it seems a home/store converted to a Ice Museum...my expectations were much higher but seems ok to us...
Great experience!!! Loved the show
Organized creatively and clearly; friendly staff. Lots of fun.
I thought it was open based on the hours posted, website, etc. but it wasn't. Update your business information.
Interesting place. Good place to kill 1 hour in Fairbanks
Fun place, you watch a movie on ice sculpture before you enter the ice part, several sculptures to see and sit on. But the one thing the kids will love is the ice slide.

Nice people
(Translated by Google) Very careless although the author of the ice sculptures is careful (Original) Muy descuidado aunque el autor de las esculturas de hielo se esmera
One thing you need to get used to is cost. Everything in Fairbanks is costly. That being said, the ice museum is a decent place to see if you're a tourist. You get a movie about life in Fairbanks, geared mostly around the ice Alaska event (the museum's owner also owns the ice Alaska venue). If you want to see an ice slide and a few sculptures in the summertime, that's cool. Ice Alaska is better venue, if you have the opportunity to come to Fairbanks in February, it's much more exciting.
Very affordable. Good show. 1 hour long. Not a high dollar production, but worth the 10 bucks for an adult ticket. Kids had a lot of fun on the indoor ice slide!
Loved it! The ice artist Andy is such a sweet heart! Make sure you record him telling about the museum it is so cute he had us in stiches! Love this little place. It's a old movie theater!! Love you Andy you made our day
Excellent service! They stayed open a day after they closed for the season just to let us drive through and see the exhibits. Definitely going back next year!
if you are in fairbanks and have some time... this is a place to go.
good place
Why don't more people know how this place??? It's super small, but very interesting. I throughly enjoyed myself.
Good show. Well worth the money. + all of the photos at the end of the show were great to take pictures with.
Don't expect a ton of sculptures, but what they do have will be fun. There is a film about the ice sculpture competition that is held there every year.
It was an experience that we will remember for better or worse. It starts off with a 20 minute video that is composed of solely pictures that are zoomed in on. Later we embarked into the cooler where we took pictures and were encouraged to slide down a ramp of ice on a sled. Andy’s enthusiasm made this aspect of the tour worth it. Lastly we watched Andy carve a flower and message into a block of ice. So fun!
Smaller than I was hoping for but still interesting to see. Expect an hour total. The host was friendly and did a quick carving at the end of the show. They had coats on hand for visitors that didn't come in with parkas.
Good exhibits. Movie was low-res to be displayed on a big screen and it was slightly boring
Interesting film followed by ice sculptures and demonstration. The ice slide is fun
View a 20-minute video about the annual ice-sculpture contest, take pictures of ice sculptures in a crowded freezer, ride the ice sled, and finally watch a brief demonstration of ice sculpture. It’s a charming bit of local culture, but overall not that impressive.
Love the ice sculptures here :-)
Wandering around Fairbanks with some time to kill, the Ice Museum helped to kill that time. The highlight is Andy, who took the time to tell us which sculptures to take photos of (spoiler alert: it's all of them ). The ice slide was really fun. Then Andy demonstrated some ice carving and that was also pretty ok. Museum gets like 2 stars, but Andy gets 5.
(Translated by Google) Good place (Original) Buen lugar
Awesome
The ice slide and sculptures are a must see.
(Translated by Google) Disappointing! (Original) Decepcionante!
Great place
Deceptive from the Outside, cute little place. You will be in and out in an hour. My kids (14 and 9) loved it. There is an ice slide inside both the kids and adults loved. If you are in Fairbanks, it is a good bit of fun and the owners really make an effort to make the experience fun. There is a slight language barrier but not enough to dampen the experience.
Interesting place to visit. The ice sculptures are interesting.
Small intimate museum, beautiful sculptures, nice staff, just wish they had washed the Coats they offered for you to wear, mine smelled of an old man. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars
ICE magic all year long. Film, professional carving display and live-interactive ice sculpture garden play. All ages fun!
The place is too small for 15 dollars, and you have to watch a 20 minutes of intro video before you can enter the little ice room
Great
Was very personal and fun Andy is excellent....
Love it
Enjoy the ice sculptures
Awesome
Fun place
A small place, with about 15 nice ice sculptures. A short demonstration of ice sculpturing.
My wife and I definitely expected more. The museum has very few ice sculptures, maybe 10 that are centered around visitor interaction (sitting on, standing by for a photo, etc.) . The video shows a lot of amazing pieces that you would love to see in the museum, but that's not what they have. The video itself is very dated and mostly just a slideshow with narrative. The visit basically sells you the ice sculpting competition in March and how awesome it is....but it's September
Great experience! Andy was very entertaining! GREAT JOB
Not in the same league as Chena ice cave. Fairbanks ice museum is more hands on (interactive) than Chena.
The film in the beginning is very low quality and Just shows some pictures of ice sculptures. The ice sculptures in the museum are not that good. Its not that expensive, but not worth your time.
Fun place. I just wished it had a little more there. But cheap 10 investment gets you cooled down.
its unique, very few things to see inside
