REVIEWS OF The Legacy Museum IN Alabama

Elaina Jackson

This museum is amazing. Bring your entire family. The history taught here is salient and relevant to the struggles of African Americans today. It's vital that we remember the past, pay attention to the present, and do better than the people that came before us. The exhibit are amazing and interactive. The book store is amazing. You have to check out the selection if you are a book lover and interested in social justice. Must visit!!!!

Aaron M Farnham

Those two paragraphs in our high school social studies textbooks did absolutely no justice to this horrifying part of American culture, our Holocaust. While I left hungering to see a section offering concrete proposals for full reconciliation rather than the photo booth, my wife and I are already preparing our daughters for a future trip to The Legacy Museum.

Sarina Nickerson-Roher

Wow! This is well done! We wept. The one thing to know is you need to buy your tickets at the ticket office which is on the back side of ally from the actual entrance into the museum. There is not shade where the line to entrance is. You will want to prepare for this with a fan or umbrella because at times there is a wait. The shuttle ride over to the lynching museum was very cool as well. You do have to go through metal detectors so dont bring a lot of stuff. You cannot take pictures or use cell phone inside the museum.

Lady T.

Soul stirring and insightful. Energy African American should make a trip to this museum. I guarantee you'll walk away a changed person.

Timothy Thompson

Very wonderful museum i think everyone should visit.

Yecats' Leewest

Eyes are wide open!! Shocking exhibits, very moving. Lots of emotion! Informative! Must go see!

Sherri Bass

Did not get to go. The office to get tickets was closed before 6 pm. We came from Biloxi Ms and couldn't get tickets!

Daniel Slick

There aren't words to describe the impact this collection of artifacts will make on your conscience. The curators have done a masterful job of methodically arranging the displays in such a way that you feel the weight of each, yet also see the deeper themes that connect the displays. The collection culminates in a series of questions that force the visitor to reflect on the contemporary meaning of the historical material they've seen. I recommend planning for two hours here.

Michael Carter

The Legacy Museum in conjunction with the Equal Justice Initiative & Memorial here in Montgomery, AL is a sobering reminder of why knowing the history & struggle of African American people (and many people of color) in this country is important to know & digest. Life-changing.

Catrina Simonet

This is a MUST VISIT!!! TO GO BACK INTO HISTORY TO SEE AND HAVE AN REAL LIFE EXPERIENCE WAS MORE THAN AWESOME!!! IT WAS HEARTFELT AND EDUCATIONAL. Every human being( all cultures) should go and experience this history. IT WILL.CHANGE YOUR HEART

Thandolwethu Jele

Well laid out and beautiful. It made me really sad reading about how African Americans are still subjected to a form of oppression. It was slavery then segregation now mass incarceration. It is a painful place to explore, but worth every minute spent there.

Tawanna Harris-Woodson

This was a very educational and emotional museum. It is a museum that all people need to visit.

Domenica Anaya

Great place to learn about history!

Andre Jester

Extremely historical and thought provoking. I was amazed at the history that was collected. Also equally saddened. I walked away wanting to tell people about it and also wanting to go back for myself again

Chanel Bertrand

Modern-day slavery...know your history.

Michael Thomas Knox

Beautiful museum! A great place to touch upon your history of slavery and segregation in America.

ahmaniel ben yehuda

This place is an absolute must see! Without a question it is an emotional journey but one that every American should take. It is extremely well put together and highly informative. It leverages technology to illustrate a long, difficult chapter of American history.

Nathanael Williams

Very eye opening and heartbreaking. I'd never been before, but as a person of color, I knew this was something I needed to visit. The staff was very helpful and the museum setup was well done. Every inch of space was packed with historical information and testimonials from slaves and slave owners alike that painted a history of injustice in the United States. I highly recommend a visit to the Legacy Museam regardless of your background as it is showcases in a respectful yet raw part of U.S history.

Alejandro Romero

Great way to know more about the slavery history and all the injustices that happened through all those years. Interactive displays and a very informative way to make concise about the American history.

Sarah Robinson

Powerful. I wish it was required for everyone living in the United States to come here to wrestle honestly with our own history. To understand that why we are where we are today didn't come from nowhere. To be encouraged to continue the fight for equality and opportunity for all, to recognize that our work is not done yet. Also I was reminded that we need to, in the words of Dr. King, continue to wage a war of love. It is in fact the only way things are really going to change for the better.

Dione Smith

This was a solemn place amd space, well worth the motorcycle ride from central Georgia. I learned a lot that day. I even saw a name of one of my ancestors. The bldgs and grounds were tastefully laid out and designed. This was a true museum to honor our fallen while keeping the legacy of our ancestors alive.

Girlonfire Trinity

I stayed two hours, and there was just so much information that I just could not read it all. I will be back the next time I'm in AL. The musemun did an exellent job of tying the past with present day issues.

Alan Karpinski

A well organized museum which helps you examine America's past transgressions, consider our current situation, and how we all can contribute to a better country.

Maggie McCoy

Words are not enough to describe this experience. Everyone needs to go! I was so humbled and my mind was opened so much. I am a better person for going.

Anthony Williams

VERY FRIENDLY SERVICE AND IT WAS A VERY INTERESTING PIECE OF HISTORY.MAKES ME FEEL BLESSED TO BE BORN IN THE GENERATION I WAS BORN IN. MAY GOD BLESS THERE SOLES.

J M

Detailed and immersive content that keeps you engaged

Louis V

Excellent narrative that needs to be told but many themes seem to have been embellished to serve a political or racial overtone. Would it be a time in which we simply told history as history instead of imposing current mores on yesterday's history.

Jolene Holden

I can't find the words to describe how this place touched me. Please, please include this on your "must do" list.

Charalaina Heard

An amazing and life changing experience for me and my family. We will be back to visit again!

Carla Felder

Very informative. Touching and memorable and sad.

Ramon Davis

I truly loved it I believe everyone should experience it

Brianna Brooks

I loved my experience here. I went around 10am on a Saturday and there was no line. I didn’t feel rushed and I was able to read. My only complaint is that as time went on it got pretty crowded with a younger group of students and they were very distracting to the aesthetic of the museum. I wish it was a silent museum or they had somewhere posted to please keep your voices down.

COOKEY J

First timer. An eye opener. I felt such sorrow and heartache. We struggle for so long. These reminders. Are painful. We need to tell the story Lord have mercy on them for what they have done to our ancestors in the past and what they are doing to us in the present.

Kimberly Browm

Awesome place to visit. The experience was very moving to me. It will definitely be a place that I will visit again. Learning about my ancestors was a very enduring moment. I will never forget what struggles and sacrifices they went through during that sad time of history.

JAM S

Great beautiful place to bring family to learn about black history. I really enjoyed my time there. Please if you go to Birmingham AL, stop by and visit there, you won't regret it.

rodrigo oabc

Amazing museum. Very important and well done. Highly recommend it

Karen Mcginnis

Very well done, thought provoking, and informative.

Destiny Allen

This place was diffently a must see. Its important for us to remember our past so it doesn't become our future!

Lutricia Harrington

WONDERFUL PLACE TO VISIT.

Jes Sorensen

A must see when visiting Montgomery! Very tough but a strong reminder of what happened then and how it has transitioned into today.

Laura Archibald

The museum was awesome. Lots of information about the history of the slave trade. The staff was very informative. Will visit again.

Nessa W

I feel everyone should make a trip here. Well organized space, informed staff, and incredibly moving experience overall.

Rehan McNeil

This was an incredible opportunity to share history with my teen daughters. Lrt us never forget that our country has work tondo.to heal the racial divide in this country.

Josh Goralski

Every person should visit this. It is a part of our history and the present day that we need to be aware of. Bryan Stevenson did a wonderful job leading the cause to build this. It is worth a trip there just for this!

Vivian Snipes

Interactive. Informative. Utilizes many means of communicating their information. Loved the situations and "what would/will you do/believe should be done?" questions in the back hallway on the way out after experiencing the museum.

Barbara D Jones

Life changing experience. Did you know that watching human beings hang was a spectator sport? When I think of such animalistic behavior, I am saddened at the many who are embittered and who participate in this type of genocide today. Going to this museum has caused me to pray for hardened hearts, ignorance, and apathetic folk who call themselves Christians, but fail to see black, brown and lovers of all people as human. Thank you to the curators for honoring these men and women well.

Emily Haas

Very educational. It is very touching to see how many people it effected and some reasons how they were effected. One sight is indoors and the other one is outdoors. A shuttle can take you from each place or you can walk. Love the background of the place and different things you see. Highly recommend.

Agnes Shepperson

The Legacy Museum is a vivid reminder of the continual hardship of a kidnapped people. You can actually feel their pain and hear their cry. Many before us gave their lives for basic human rights, education, housing, voting rights, and so much more. The struggle and fight for equal justice continues in 2019.

Khadijah Radford

Unspeakable emotions. The grounds are very nice and feel sacred. Excellent hard work and time went into creating this memorial. We thoroughly enjoyed this self guided tour of history, as raw and heavy as it is.

Jovonna Hardy

Amazing place so much rich history. I recommend this museum to everyone. There are no phones allowed for noise and pictures which is very understandable, however there is a photo booth towards the end.

Adasia Wheeler

Very eye opening! I felt so much sorrow and energy from others at the museum. It’s so much to take in but very educational. Powerful! I can’t wait until they are finished with the whole project.

Rosie Hamilton

Extremely interesting and so much to learn, I plan to return.,

David Archer

This was great but also depressing. Good not to forget the past though so we don't repeat it.

Bobby Brown

We really enjoyed the museum. My 82 year old mom enjoyed it. Great job!

Tim Wiggins

Very educational. Staff very helpful and courteous.

Kayla Peavy

Visited this with a group of students. First, walking into the exhibit was hauntingly powerful. The exhibit gave a lot of great information and the powerful message that change needs to happen. Stunning work by different artists, and the dirt collection from lynching sites was absolutely powerful in its message.

Sherri Jamison

Excellent very moving the history is intense very moving. I spent over 2.5 hours could have been there 2 more hours.

Neil Lewis

The musuem connects the past with the present in one heartbreaking but effective narrative. One of the best musuems in the US; that every citizen should experience.

Mona Hardy

It was A Wonderful Experience and Everyone Should Go there and take their Children!! You will Learn Alot!

Tamisha Jones

I enjoyed the experience that I had there. I read everything well almost everything. Parking is free on Sundays. I believe Saturday also. I was there for 4 1/2 hours. I had to hurry to get to the memorial. Bring comfortable shoes because it's a lot to take in.

Briana Francois

This museum is so full of information. This was my second visit, and I still learned so much. If you have any interest about how race relations have evolved (and probably even if you don't), this is a must see.

John Thiessen

What an amazing place. It's a must see if you are anywhere at all in the area. I was stunned by the architectural approach to such a terrible time in the history of the USA.

Gidion Zieten

All around an unbelievably great museum with great information an friendly, communicative staff. This might be the best museum i've ever been to.

Louis Gibson

Truth be told, full of truth and full of history.

Samuel Richardson

A very emotional and informative experience. I really enjoyed it.

April Glasper

Amazing museum. I felt like I needed 2 days to be able to take everything in. Definitely going back. This museum is a must see. Take your friends, loved ones, and recommend it to others. Very eye opening.

Tana Branch

Amazing. Every child and adult in Alabama should go visit this museum.

Taye Martin

Amazing experience to learn about our history! Everyone should visit this museum. Very moving

Jannie Wilson

Everyone should go and see this attraction. I felt the pain and saw how my black people were treated. History is important because it shows how white people treatred black people. After seeing this exhibit of the past on how white people treated black people, I prayed for all the blacks that were beaten and murdered because they were black.

chinikqua Beard

This placed left me weighted in sadness however inspired to change the world. The cost is inexpensive and well worth the visit ( I would suggest purchasing dual tickets for the museum and Peace Memorial). Very powerful in its intent to resurrect the truth of our nation's horrid past and nature. I have been spreading the word of its existence since my visit.

Nancy Washington

Very inspiring! I grew up nearby and never realized the part Montgomery played in the slave trade. No wonder the formalized fight for civil rights began there with God placing the oh so young MLK being right where he needed to be. You take away the message the struggle continues...

Jonathan Tennis

No pictures allowed inside but it’s something I really appreciated because it allows people to take in the history of slavery and the racial injustices of the past and present without having to dodge selfie sticks. Moving museum exhibit and something I would highly recommend to anyone interested in this aspect of American history. If you have time, recommend visiting both the museum and the memorial which is a few minutes away by EJI shuttle. The Equal Justice Initiative did an incredible job presenting a terrible part of our history.

Constance N. Johnson

They did an amazing job protecting and displaying our legacy.

Dennis G.

Excellent displays and informed staff. Loved it.

Antoinette Mims

We’ve been to a host of black history museums and this one is our favorite. There are tons of interactive exhibits and the staff are knowledgeable. Please note photography is not allowed, which I appreciated a lot actually. Removing that allows people to digest the information rather than trying to document it.

Chad Adler

All Americans, young and old, should visit this museum. An incredibly impactful, educational, and moving experience. With this addition of this museum and the National Memorial for Peace and Justice, The Equal Justice Initiative has established Montgomery, AL as the premier city for Civil Rights memorialization, surpassing Washington DC and Atlanta.

Teresa Frankhauser

The information was wonderful I learned a lot. The only thing I wish I could have done was take pictures. I spent hours trying to read everything in detail and there still was not enough time. I will be back and I will bring more people. This stuff should be taught in school.

Kimberly Fling Warnick

Well worth the visit. Educational for all.

Ellie Lansdown

It was so well done. There was information everywhere your looked. This museum did an amazing job simply presenting the facts.

Lynne Charles

Although I've watched many documentaries about the inequality and injustice given to many African Americans, nothing can prepare you for the visual impact this memorial/museum will have on you. You will receive a full history lesson from slavery to terrorism, unlawful incarcerations, families destroyed, etc. It is a memorial/museuem I feel, that all should visit. Please take the time to visit. Bring your family and educate the younger generations of the atrocites many, many men, women and children have suffered.

Tim Lockheart

If you want to know the complete history of the Black American experience in the US, the Legacy Museum is a "must" visit. The Museum located in downtown Montgomery, Alabama tell stories that are not part of US history that are widely know. An education for all.

Kelsey Antkowiak

This place will impact your soul. You'll cry and hurt and feel inspired and hopeful. Every single person should go here.

Chibueze Onwunaka

The Equal Justice Institute (EJI) does an extraordinary job in bringing to life the past horrors in American society in an intricate way that shocks the visitor but does not leave you hopeless! By simply learning about the truths of the past, all participants are able to challenge past perceptions, embrace dialogue, and grow! The lives that were unjustly taken were honored throughout this museum beautifully! The museum takes at least 2 hours if you read every word but I encourage you to be open minded and willing to participate not only with your body but your mind, heart, and spirit!

Veronique Bryant

Very educational. I need to visit a couple more times to really absorb all of the information that was presented to us.

Marcus Houston

Raw and uncut presentation of the history of slavery and it's enduring impact. Be prepared to be moved and changed.

Marc Waddell

WOW! A great museum, very thought provoking. Also very eye opening and very sad that this period even existed in our country's history. The amount of research, detail, examples, displays and interactive devices were all very well thought out. Go visit, you will not regret it.

Nat Turner

Very crowded the day we went so hard to get close to some of the exhibits. That said, it tells a compelling, well documented story of race in America. A must visit for anyone wanting to explore the history of race and modern day impact on the country. Curiously, they do not allow any photos inside. I would have liked to take pictures in a few places to remember some of the exhibits I found particularly powerful.

Sol Truehill

A very informative exhibit of black history.

Patrick Ross

Awesome Display, well layed out. Need more seating in the movie areas. Another bench left and right. Great Staff!

Julie H

Outstanding experience. The Equal Rights Initiative does great work. The multimedia exhibits are moving and extremely well done. Top it off with the Memorial and you will understand history in a whole new way.

Lisa Sims

Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! I loved how the museum made the connection between chattel slavery and mass incarceration. It is interactive and also has videos that were filmed during the civil rights movement. We were lucky to have one of those who was wrongly incarcerated available to talk about his case, future plans and address any other questions you may have. This museum is definitely worth the visit to Montgomery, AL and make sure to support the bookstore.

ChrisAngel Fuller

Amazing. Highly recommended for everyone. Definitely an important piece of American history. Astounded by the work EJI is doing. Keep it up! There is so much to see, I will definitely have to revisit. And the young lady at the ticket counter who helped us out was super nice and smiling. What customer service is all about

anissa christian

Very informative, eye opening, and must visit!

Derrick Jones

A great place to visit with your family. And catch up on some history you may not know of.

Tiffnie Jackson

Outstanding research, fantastic layout, wonderful interactive display, and a brilliant way to honor the incredible Black people who preceded us. Our ancestors must be so proud!!!!!

fred baker

Heatfelt good place to learn black history my history

Cheri Clark

Its always interesting to see the history of my people.

William Price

Great place to learn about our history......took my kids (9 and 11)....they were fully engaged and interested in what happened.....beautifully displayed....

Thunder Storm

The museum is small but take time to read everything, look at all the video there's a lot to learn, enjoy, and appreciate. This is an AMAZING place. I don't want to say to much and give it all away but the entrance around the corner was so real. Great nonprofit visionaries!!! Thank You Legacy Museum for bringing understanding and enlightenment.

Ken Banks

A very eye opening display of black history and the not so distant conditions of correctional institutions.

Marianne

Fantastic experience...it can be overwhelming but the content, setup and overall experience should not be missed. I have been to several museums of this type and I liked the correlation between the best and current state of America.

Herman Wake

Very powerful. Went with father-in-law, but will definitely be returning with the rest of the family

bonnie brantley

I really enjoy myself would do it again

Me Why

As was to be expected for a local tourist attraction operating on summer's inaugural weekend, the museum was overcrowded and understaffed. While thankful for the free shuttle service that ran between the museum and the memorial, there was a long wait to ride due to limited seating on each shuttle. It took our group several trips to get everyone back and forth. Not criticizing without offering a solution - just expressing that more can and should be done to facilitate anticipated volume crowds at attractions you want people to support. With groups traveling great distances to patronize your establishment on extremely hot summer days, why not hand out bottled water or at a minimum fans, visors, towels or something? Offer these items bagged as a token of appreciation for the patronage! With seniors, children and group members of varying medical conditions standing in long lines this is a no brainer. We waited >2 hours just to get in and then it took awhile for our group to get through the SINGLE security checkpoint!?! Once inside we saw part of the problem - people sitting inside (visibly grateful to be in the cool), sleep and ultimately causing the backlog. Overall we found the outdoor memorial a more pleasant and moving experience.

DpOoenise Collins

Insightful place. Vivid depiction of shameful history of this country.

Kari Burton

Very eye-opening, informative, and well kept

tiffany suggs

I will never forget that experience. It was small, but what it lacked in size it made up in content. Very moving. I also appreciated the ability to purchase a combo ticket for the Museum and Memorial for Peace and Justice, and the fact that they shuttled you from one to the other. Very convenient, because parking is a little difficult to navigate for out of towners (not there fault). Tip: off peak, the parking garage one block down is free!

Johnice Sewell

A great place to go to experience the history of African American people and what all we have had to endure.

Joseph, Foster jr

I was deeply moved the past and the present has some similarities.

Jasdeep Gill

The best museum ive ever visited. The way technology has been used to make it so engaging is incredible. I would highly recommend everyone to visit this and the memorial!

Gwendolyn Armour

This is the legacy of our fore father's who were lynched to give us our Freedom today. We should never forget our black history. Everyone must visit. It is educational !

Mitch

Must Visit location while in Montgomery - Great History info

Angela B

Very powerful and inspiring place! So much information! Not a place I'd take kids so you can read and discover information.

Erin Winder

This place opened my eyes. I have shared knowledge learned with others and encouraged them to go also. This museum is one of the best I've ever gone to.

Katelyn Gorings

It's a nice museum but it's not worth its price.

Edwin Wilcher

The visit to this museum was educational and sobering. The history of the civil rights movement and what the people endured to get the right to vote wqs really eye opening.

Jemma Hanson

It was so emotional that many of the younger people in our tour were crying. It was hard to keep the tears in check. It was great, it's a must see for all.

Sarah Minslow

So well done. Important history on display tastefully and to illicit understanding and help Americans cope with our shared histories and mistakes of the past.

Ernest Walker

If traveling using I-65 just know there may be traffic! I left an hour earlier than planned and thank goodness I did, otherwise I would have missed my appointment time. I am curious why a museum needs "tours" when most is free walking I am a first time visitor and really want to give you 5 stars because I had a somber and thought provoking day!

Demetrius Henry

Visited the museum to see the Memorial about my Uncle Roger Hamilton who was killed in 1957 by some white men who was never charged with his murder. I enjoyed the plaques and the history. I enjoyed the, shuttle bus and the driver telling us about the historical buildings. This was my first time in Alabama. I hope to return again when the weather is cooler to enjoy the outside of the Museum.

Tamika M

Absolutely a Must Visit. I so enjoyed my visit at the museum and memorial. There's so much history in both places. I definitely recommend visiting both places and I be prepared to spend time at both places. Everything is so very interesting and you may find yourself reading about taking in an the history for hours.

Julia Benson

Working with the youths who attend New Beginnings United Methodist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. It was a great opportunity for learning.

Ella Kearse

Just wonderful place to visit. All Americans should visit this place.

Beautiful facility. Very touching & maddening. ✊

NIna Bailey

Fantastic museum, one of the very best. Outstanding exhibits, both visual and auditory. An absolute must-see for everyone.

This museum is powerful. A must see. We need more museums like this in the US.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the museum. It was very moving and life changing for us. I definitely recommend it to any and every person, no matter your race or ethnicity.

Tee Huff

This was such an emotional visit. This museum is AWESOME! Words can't express the appreciation I have for those who took the time to make this possible.

Divine Creator Shi

Amazing accounts of history, it's so well put together.

Kent Looney

This was one of the best museums that I have been to. The exhibits were very well done and moving. The pricing was very reasonable and the very people that we talked to had very good service. I would recommend this museum to anyone and I would come back if I had the chance. The memorial was really moving and very well made. We loved our experience coming to the museum and the memorial and will remember this experience forever.

Earsie Simpson

A great place to visit while you are in town

Monique Redman

A very up close and personal experience of the lives and times of African American slaves. Very emotional and historical displays of the slave trade. Everyone should visit and get a true understanding and reality of the struggles.

Jennell Wallace

Amazing stories. We have truly come this far by faith

Amanda Bailey

This is a must see in Montgomery. The historians who designed the exhibits knew what they were doing. The experience was almost overwhleming for my 8 year old daughter but it is a necessary experience I think. We, as a people, need slavery and mass incarceration shoved in our faces so maybe we will address the ongoing legacy, which is the point I believe of the museum.

R. Dude Tedford

We do better, when we know better!

Nicole Daly

Very informational and historical facts. It was very sad but true facts about American history. A must see!

Amanda Jagneaux

My husband and I brought our three children here & were turned away at the door. They ran out of tickets! How does a walk through museum run out of tickets? A family behind us were also turned away.. VERY DISAPPOINTED

R Riddick

Enlightening history past and present. Brace for uncomfortable truth.

Nancy Wade

This is a place, a long with the memorial, that everyone should see atleast once in there lifetime. It tugged at every fiber of my being...we really enjoyed it. It was worth the trip from Ohio to see it.

Mondale Smiley

This place changed my life and opened my eyes. Thank you!

thyrecia weaver

Relevant for social justice. Educates of past racial injustices against minorities

Robert l Thomas

Very powerful to show the experience of African Americans in the United States. Gives the opportunity to learn history. And learn what is still going on in some places.

Cheryl Williams

Emotional and informative. A must see for all Americans.

Kertina Kimbrough

It was a humbling experience. It made me sad, angry, more determined than ever to live my life advocating for better!

Valarie Mathis

Every kid should experience this place and adults. Very informative

C Foreman

Look like a nice place I trying to go inside to get more information about how I can bring my family to see the museum but I was stop by a worker at the front desk told me I cannot come in I have to stand by the door no one greeted me I wanted information about the museum how can I see the museum I thought it was very rude but I was only able to stand by the door to talk to someone so I decided not to go maybe if I come back next year, it will be better

DeShonna Barnes

This past Saturday, I drove my three sons to Montgomery from Georgia. When we arrived around 12:30pm we were told that we could only go to the memorial site @ the time and we could purchase tickets for the museum but we couldn't go into the museum until 5:45pm. If I were prepared to stay in AL, it may not have been a problem. However, the memorial site was very informative, we took loads of pictures. I would just encourage anyone who's coming a great distance to purchase tickets in advance so that you'll be able to experience everything in one trip. I do encourage those who are raising son's especially single parents to bring your sons.

Luz Davis

Beautiful museum with lots of information. Bring plenty of water to the peace and justice center. They don't allow drinks nor bottled water at the legacy center. There's a free shuttle that runs every 10 minutes. The statues, pictures, holograms are very powerful. My 10 year old learned so much and was happy to see the man he was named after at The Legacy Center, Stokely Carmichael.

Ekaterina Raykova

An amazing museum - deeply striking heritage carefully collected and brought into connection with today's day, all presented in a super accessible multimedia diverse way. A must-visit.

Eric Jenkins

One of the top 2 museums ever visited. So much powerful history in such a small footprint. The museum makes the past come alive, and causes one to deal with the horrific treatment of human beings falsely committed in the name of justice and Jesus. When righteous people fail to recognize the evil perpetrated against others then they too become a part of the evil system.

TC Gray

I enjoyed the museum, history stories were enlightening. I was not able to finish the tour but happy to return some day.

ronda watts

Great experience! Love the atmosphere, exhibits, and employees. I would recommend this museum to my friends.

Claire Arce'

A memorable and holy place.

Shyrel G

This Museum was very informative and I was enlighten knowledge wise.
