Here we offer you all the information of real people like you who purchase the services of The Hank Williams Museum (Museum) in Alabama.
Right now this business has a score of 4.5 stars over 5 and that rating was based on 271 reviews.
You must have seen that the average of ratings that it reaches is practically the top, and it's based on a very large number of feddbacks, so we may think that the score is very credible. If people have bothered to rate when they've done well, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to give reviews when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This corresponds to the category of Museum.
Go! It was much bigger than I thought, and does a great job of talking about his life and explaining his music. There were a bunch of cool liens on display, and they play a video showing the only video recording it him playing music that exists. Price was very reasonable, and the staff was very nice. It's amazing what Hank did for music in the short time he had.
Slightly bizarre to show the clothes he died I n
It is rare these days to find unique and authentic places in the world.....it seems everything is corporate this, and franchised that. A museum built by the love of the arts and run by a family for the love of the creator. Soak up the authenticity and the history.
Thank you for keeping the memory
Good Times and Fun Facts. a real Jambalaya of a Treat
We really enjoyed this great museum. The letters, artifacts and Hank’s music in the background made this a must stop on our trip. The Hank Williams story is an extraordinary one and this museum gives an honest portrayal of his life and times.
Love the artifacts about Hank Williams. The staff was very pleasant and nice smiles and very helpful. Loved the gift shop also.
Museum was a terrific experience and obviously a labor of love the staff the daughter of the founder was extremely knowledgeable the exhibits were informative and unique and the gift shop very comprehensive well worth the visit.
It was $10.00 per adult and that's fine but we were not allowed to take pictures past the lobby. It would have been nice to take pics next to his car or next to one of the cardboard cutouts. We went to several other museums that day, no admission required and no restrictions on taking pics. So I would recommend the Confederate White and the Museum of Alabama, absolutely fantastic.
Was great to learn about a Hank Williams SR....
If you like Hank Williams as much as I do , you'll wanna visit this place. N go see his grave!! Awesome!!!!
Tons of great memorabilia and history. A must see for any Hank Williams fan. Staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable.
Good
Montgomery's own troubadour is celebrated in this quirky museum, stuffed to the gills with memorabilia from Hank's clothes to even the car he died in! The museum management is happy to assist groups with off-hours tours if booked in advance. Insider Tip: Visit on New Years Day - the anniversary of Hank's death to participate in graveside singing at the Memorial at Oakwood Cemetery and then a New Year's potluck and live music at the museum. And don't forget an awesome T-shirt!
I thought the museum was overpriced for a small nuseum. No photographs were allowed in the museum area only the gift shop area
Only reason I gave it four stars is that your not allowed to take pictures which was a bummer.
It was interesting
Classic, musty, museum of Hanks' clothes and his baby blue car. Still Hank's awesome so I enjoyed seeing his stuff and the music and the opry house clips of his performances. Got a "Hank You" bumper sticker. :-)
so amazing,a lot more to see inside a most see
This place is not huge but is packed full of Hank memorabilia. I wish you could take pictures inside but other than that I loved it.
A bit pricey to get on(10 bucks for adults) but if you are a Hank Williams fan, it's a great memorial. You see lots of personal information with Hank, his wife and fellow musicians. I was surprised I enjoyed it as much as I did. The only drawback was we were not allowed to take pictures in the museum itself. The Indian in the accompanying photo was in the gift shop. A worthwhile stop for country music fans.
Great place
If you read the list on their website about what is prohibited during your visit you will be turning around and go the other way! I planned to visit but in the end I’m happy I didn’t
Enjoyed the vast collection of the memorabilia.
Any Hank lover needs to stop here! We had a great time seeing everything. They have a nice gift shop where you can purchase t-shirts and several other Hank items. The only issue we had was that we were pulling a 24 ft enclosed trailer, but luckily we found an empty parking lot a few blocks away and walked there. That was my fault for not checking about parking!! They do have parking for single vehicles all around though.
If you love Hank this is for you. Lots of really cool exhibits
Good place to teach kids history
Me and my wife really enjoyed it.
For true H. Williams fans; taking photos not allowed.
Well done museum. Had a great time. Loads of music history. Worth your time.
A lot of cool memorabilia about the late great Hank Williams. And some on Hank Williams Jr. as well and the family and band members. Great place if you're a fan or just looking to expand your horizons. Great American music history place to visit.
Enjoyable and worth a stop. Of course it'd be nice if it were free. (I see everyone complaining about the price). I don't think $10 was too high though. There is a lot to see, read and take in. But yeah, bummer on not being able to take pictures. But we kept our phones in our pockets and didn't have any issues. The female at the desk did circle through once while we were viewing things (maybe to ensure we weren't taking pics?)
Lots and lots of Hank Williams suits and personal items in this hometown museum. The car he died in Is also in this museum. There is a video of his funeral. If you love Hank Williams, you need to see this museum.
Great history of a great country singer legend.
It is no way a high tech, gaudy museum where their lives are displayed in neon and was figures. I've grown up loving Hank Jr, and his father. I cried, I laughed.......I feel I was able to pay my respects.
It was nice and had some really cool stuff but you can only use your phone in the lobby so you can't take pictures of the really nice stuff. Like his car.
Loved it!
A lot of history here on the water front.
Great place to visit lots of history.
The most amazing place I've ever been too..loved the history at museum and commerce street
Excellent self guided tour at a reasonable price.
Very cool place
As wonderfully bizarre as the man himself. Totally recommend to any Hank fans.
This is so wonderful! A must do if you are in the area. Plan a trip and visit Hanks museum!
Very cool
I thought it was a good museum. Had a great time.
Hubby and I visited Dec. 2017. I loved talking to the couple and their daughter. I am looking forward to another visit to donate a copy of my book, "Love Letters in a Box".
We called and asked if they could stay open a half hour passed closing time due to us arriving later then planned. They not only stayed open and waited but told us to take our time when we going through the museum. Very very nice people and much appreciated :-)
Too cool, a great tribute to Hank. Enjoyed the Museum and gift shop, many items to see on display from Hanks outfits to guitars. Cheap admission for the enjoyment, bring in extra quarters to play jukebox.
Staff was absolutely amazing and so knowledgeable! One of the best museums I have ever been too.
I liked going here. The place is obviously stuck in the past, and.. of course.. there is no need to move on since Hank Williams is treasure to a grateful past.. time stands still within these walls. Lots of memorablia and records. You can even buy shellacs in the store for 25$ each(which is quite expensive, but they have them on sale!) Not everything is as interesting and the fanlike art is overwhelming and might get close to an overkill. But its a nice experience for every Hank Williams fan.
Interesting exhibit and nice gift shop. Friendly, helpful staff!
Truly amazing. It's like you get to know him.
Fantastic museum for anyone into music
They have the actual car Hank Williams died in. Hank jr. Drove the car three years of his high school days. Until they had it restored in 1985. Would of been nice if I could have gotten a picture of it but no cameras allowed in the museum.
Very different and special .Fan or not go visit.Hank You ! lol
Wow!!!!!!!!! I came up from Florida with my kids and my husband to visit the Hank Williams museum. This is by far the best museum I have ever visited in my entire life!! It’s like you step back in time, and you really feel the presence of Hank all around you. The feeling that you get sitting in front of his Cadillac is indescribable and I’m so glad that we came. I could have spent the entire day there listening to the juke box and just taking it all in. Who cares that you can’t have a phone in the museum, if you are a true Hank fan, it won’t matter! The amount of personal items that his family have generously put in the museum is amazing. I loved seeing all of his boots and suits! If you love Hank, don’t miss out on this true gem! You won’t be disappointed
This place was great. So much to see. Loved it and would visit again.
This is an awesome place but you are not allowed to take photos.
The museum is very interesting
Awesome museum. Worth the 10 bucks if you have any memories at all of your parents or family members who played hanks songs. The car is fabulous. Will return again an again.
Cool
Awesome place to visit a must do
It was interesting, my nephew and his wife came into town and that's one of the places he couldn't wait to see. I guess you'd have to be into Hank Williams, but I enjoyed time with my family so it was a positive.
This place is amazing
Loved it its alot to take in ...it will take a minute to go through everything !!!!
The person running the museum was very helpful. He even gave us a print out to find other Hank Williams sites in Montgomery.
Ton of interesting items. I learned alot about this true legend!
If you don't know Hank you will by the time you leave and the staff is amazing.
My favorite singer
Was assailed by the female owner for pulling out my phone to view a phone notification. Was accused of taking a photo. She demanded my phone and I walked out. Supremely disrespectful person and I felt extremely insulted.
This museum is small but is jam packed with things to read and see. I feel it is well worth the money. I learned a lot and was happy I went. My only nit-pick is, your not allowed to take photos. I feel the more photos of this legendary singer online or shared with others, will only help to preserve and teach younger generations of such musical talent.
Rude people!!! Take the advice and skip this place. Manager is obsessed with people taking pictures and cellphones. Ruins any enjoyable experience when you are followed by her like mall security. Even though she is standing by watching she wasn't willing to answer any questions or offer any advice. I asked for local food options or more information and she was quick to point out that she isn't a tour guide. Save the money and time and do something else, this place isn't worth the headache. It may be nice if it were under new management but I wont try it again.
Fantastic and thorough place for history and the story of Hank Williams! Really enjoyed this place.
Very interesting
Very Disappointed... Too many cameras could not take photos to send back home on Facebook.. these folks need to jump into the 21st century...
Very interesting place. Neat hank memoribilia. Just not big enough. But worth a visit if your in town. Price is fair.
Awesome place and tribute to Alabama native Hank Williams!
A VERY NEAT MUSEUM
Very nice owners. They were very helpful with questions about Hank Williams. Invited us back for New Years when they would place a wreath on his gravesite in honor of the anniversary of his death and then gathering at the museum. We were very pleased with our visit.
This us a great place! My 15 year old asked to go for some time and we enjoyed it tremendously.
Very cool place to visit . Only thing is you can't take pics once you enter the museum but still respectfully cool place to visit I will visit again soon .
Drove down from Indiana. Worth every mile. This museum has some pretty remarkable artifacts once owned by Hiram Hank Williams. From the powder blue Cadillac he passed away in, to numerous Nudie Suits and boots. Learned quite a bit while walking through the tour. No cameras allowed. Just 2 minutes away, you must check out the cemetery where he and Audrey are buried. No words can express the feelings ya get while there....Highly reccomend
We stopped on our way to Florida from Nashville. $10 each admission was ok but no photos allowed which we thought petty as there is nothing there a flash will hurt. I noticed a sign offering to take a pic with tje "death car" which I'm sure was for an extra charge. All that said, it's a nice and fairly complete Shrine to Hank and appears to have tje blessing and cooperation of the Williams family. History, clothing, furniture, records, the vehicle he died in and more are all pretty interesting . I will never view Oak Hill, WV the same as we pass heading south.
It's a must see place for the true COUNTRY music fan
Wow - a lot of stuff packed into a tiny place.
What a fantastic tribute to one of America's best Country Music Legends. I wish I could share photos with you but photography is not allowed. You'll hear Hank singing some of his most loved tunes along with admiring the beautiful costumes he and his wife Audrey wore to perform in. Hank's big blue Cadillac is on full display. You'll read about how he died and much about his life. There's authentic furniture from the home he shared with wife Audrey and children Hank Jr and Lucretia. What an enjoyable experience this was and I highly recommend you tour it.
Great to visit if you're a country music fan or Hank Williams fan. I would recommend it and go back.
Interesting place with everything Hank Williams touched. No photos allowed and a bit pricey to get in.
Great place
Superbly curated and friendly people. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting (or living in) Montgomery.
Great place and full of memorabilia .
Was a great experience
A must see for anyone visiting Montgomery!
Fantastic really enjoyed it
A small museum with a lot of interesting things. I highly recommend it especially if you are a Hank Sr fan
Learned more about Hank Williams than I ever thought I would want to. Really enjoyed the visit!
If you're a fan of Hank, this is a place to check out. They have a lot of his personal artifacts, records, and hand written notes.
Very informative and well worth the small entrance fee.
This place is Amazing could spend all day here. Thanks to everyone involved in making this happen!
Love the history of this place and the information, very informative Hank Williams and his life .
Awesome museum. Learned a lot.
We enjoyed everything!! The tour was very enlightening & the staff was very helpful.
Very pleasant
Great little museum. Brought back memories of my daddy. Such a short life for a very talented man.
Great memorabilia and music throughout the museum. Staff was great! We really enjoyed our time. Plan a couple hours if you like to read all the info. Clean and neat. Not stuffy and mildewy like some museums.
Learned al lot I didn't know. Great collection of his property and memorability.
Very interesting exhibits, great info and very reasonable on pricing! The woman working was so sweet and even gave our kids souvenirs!! Highly recommended
Wonderful employees and so much so see and read!! If your a Hank fan its a great way to learn about his life!!
It was a really cool place lot of facts and original Hank stuff but it was just a shirt walkthrough.
Interesting place.
Well laid out.
Amazing and so very much to see!
Would like to visit. But hank sir. Is before my time.
Amazing small museum. More information packed in there than it seems like from the entrance. 10/10 would recommend to Hank Williams fans
Nicely displayed
