Here we offer you the feddbacks of real people like you who bought the services of The Fort of Colonial Mobile (Museum) in the state of Alabama.
As of day this business has a score of 4.3 out of 5 and this rating has been based on 412 reviews.
As you can see its rating is really good, and it is based on a large number of scores, so we may say that the score is very faithful. If there are many people who bothered to rate when they've done well, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to set opinions when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This is included in the category of History museum.
The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because there were several attractions that were closed. This fort is rich in culture and history. It's $8 per adult $7.50 with military ID and $5 for children. The grounds are fairly well kept. This is a great place to visit if you want to understand about all of the different cultures that have been present in the Mobile Alabama area over its history. I highly recommend to visit to this fort and when you're finished go right next door to the Charlotte house which was a former prison then purchased by an investor and remodeled into a home. Check out the photos!
Was very interesting. We had lunch near byand really enjoyed out time there and also walking around down town Mobile.
Great family place but horrible weekend to visit w chilli cookoff
Very cool! We ice skated at Christmas, saw the Breakout Room, toured the fort
The duck ride was very knowledgeable and enjoying.
It was a really cool place with history. They have this photo room with outfits to try on and take pictures with, to show all your friends who couldn't go. They have an escape room that is cool, as long as you don't figure it out before you actually go in. The prices for it are cheap and/or affordable. It's a nice place overall.
Interesting, reasonably priced.
Skip it. Not much to see. "Skyline view" that was promised could be had by jumping on your friends shoulders. Pricey for the VERY limited content.
RIP OFF!! Do yourself a favor and save the price of admission... spend it on anything else!! I mean, ANYTHING ELSE! This used to be a free exhibit a few months ago. There's a new owner who added a dinky shooting gallery that doesn't even work very well. There's a "photo booth" where you can put on dirty costumes and take pictures, and an "escape room" with a door that doesn't even close. There's a hideous noise in the fort area that makes it hard to concentrate when reading exhibits. One exhibit has a light that doesn't work, so you can't see anything. So basically, we paid $25 to play an arcade shooting game. RIP OFF!!!
Great Hamburger with A Lot of Varieties... Such as jalapeno peppers or sweet-and-sour sauce.
Very interesting great for kids and adults l
It’s a replica, and about the size of my backyard. Try the Spanish Fort across the river — much better experience. This seems to mostly just be a depot for the duck boat tours, though in the winter months it also has like a 20x20 foot ice skating rink in it ($15). That said, the duck boat tour was fantastic. There is free parking around back, next to the water.
Great Fun! Ice skated and duck boat!!
Very historical and lots of artifacts.
A great place to visit, especially if you have kids.
Mardi gras was awesome
Not much to see or do here but was still enjoyable
Not worth the price. Recommend visiting History Museum across the street.
Excellent place to take the kids, they love it and so do the grown ups!
They want too much for a tour. The stuff sold inside is ideal for tourists though.
Who knew Mobile, AL was such a cool place?? We had a blast exploring the downtown area, including Fort Colonial Mobile! It's a great way to spend some time learning about the history of the area. You can also have brunch at Sylvia's Biscuits and Poboys, which is located inside the fort.
Outstanding place to visit. The tour was very informative. I love the history. We loved the escape room and the shooting room. A lot of fun. A must visit place.
A great place to bring friends and share the history of our city.
great service, great food at Sylvia's, great experience.
Wonderful place
Good to go see while doing other touristy stuff in the area
Had a great time! Lots of things to do and see it's well worth the time to stop..
A lot if history and very interesting.
Closed on a Tuesday morning
Very clean and nice workers.
The idea of the fort was cool, and there was a fair amount of stuff to see. From the roof the city view was very nice and I got lots of photos. However, the drawbacks were that none of the stuff on display was overly exciting. Lighting was very poor and many descriptive signs had black lettering on dark blue background, making it difficult to read. There was an escape room, but no starting clues, so that was pointless. I would not be inclined to return here. It cost $16.50 for 2 people.
Duck Boat tour was nice and informative!
This is a good place to visit if you are a history buff and happen to be visiting Mobile. It won't take an hour to visit, but you'll get an easy history lesson about Mobile. There isn't anything from the original fort here. It is completely reconstructed.
Helpful people. Enjoyable place to walk around and learn history. Take the duckboat ride! It's a blast!
It is a great stop in Mobile! My family loved it and we learned so much! Also, the young man working the souvenir/entrance area was very informative and a super sweet guy.
Kinda boring.
I really in joyed it there really nice place to show your kids about the battle of Mobile bay are to catch a parade during mardigras.
he Fort is full of history and there are great stories to learn here! The volunteers that work here are all very nice but you have to ask questions because they don't always volunteer information. They're so sweet, though, and I don't hold that against them. Just be sure to engage and ask questions! There's a fun "escape room" for the kids and lots of history to learn. The fort is set up well for how it would have been originally and you do feel like you've traveled backward in time once you step through the doors. All in all, a nice place to visit but a little high on the price.
Doesn't look open, didn't go inside.
Very interesting piece of history. Fort is an easy walkthrough that shouldn't take more than an hour.
Interesting site. Didn't know it was there. I plan to visit the area again and learn more.
Great Place to enjoy Mardi Gra
One of Mobile’s greatest landmarks, a MUST see...
Most of the time Welcome Centers are little more than a caboose or a small building welcoming you to the city. But that is not the case with Mobile's Wecome Center. It is located on the sight of the orginal Ft. Conde. While the fort is not completely rebuilt due to space one does get the feel of what the fort was like. Interestingly it is located right above the Wallace Tunnel where I-10 goes under the Mobile River. It has exhibits and a small gift shop to go with the Fort. It is a FREE attraction to the city. When going make sure you leave enough time to city the City of Mobile Museum next store and the Conde-Charlotte House just around the corner. Mobile is a Wonderful, Historic City...it along with it's sister cities of Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA, make a trio of old deep south southern ports worth visiting!!!!
Escape room is interesting and fun for kids. History story is given us for for Mobile and Gulf area history.
Never been there
Loved this. Great Duck boat tour with Kat and Captain Dave.
Breakfast with Santa has become my tradition from now on. We had an amazing time!
It was nice.
Nice, quick, free glimpse at the history of Mobile. Don't plan your day around it. The partial fort itself and virtually all of the artifacts are reproductions.
Went to eat at Sylvia's restaurant. Love the historical fort, higly recommend for history buffs
Great Bloody Mary in the little restaurant within the fort! I like any fusion of history and booze.
be prepared for a replica with some entertainment. I would better spend this time for walking along the Mobile downtown, which is definitely worth of doing
Surprising a pretty neat place. Was waiting on the duck tour and walked around the fort finding it interesting and a must visit if you want some history about Mobile.
Very well kept. Loads of information inside. Really very interesting.
Awesome place to visit with the duck tour...never did it before but it was well worth it! Had a ton of fun...good clean fun!
This was a fun little adventure in downtown Mobile that was such a surprise! It was such an informative tour. We learned SO much about how Mobile was established and the battles bewtween the French, Spanish, and the English! Then, how it became owned by the Americans. I definitely recommend this place!
Gulf Coast Duck tours! 3 splashs and history tour! We learned so much, and Captain Rusty and Ashley were very entertaining!
Wish it was bigger and had more to it.
Enriching experience on learning history of Old British, French and Spanish colonies.
Going threw that was exciting as going through Chesapeake Bay in Virginia
Loved the wall posts detailing Mobiles history. Staff was very nice and informative.
This fort is in downtown Mobile, Alabama. It has a great timeline of the history of French and Indian War. As well as the American Revolution. You can dress up take pictures. It is one of the best fort I've visited.
Neat place if you have an hour or so to kill. Not a ton to look at, but that may be why the admission cost is so reasonable.
It is a replica of the original fort. Nice to visit but they could charge a little less
Went to the little restaurant inside there, was really amazed at how nice it is! I will definitely go back.
Always a good time looking around our history.
Took a tour and realized the fort was rebuilt scale model of original. Most of It was turned into escape rooms for children. The only saving grace was a small musium in the back corner. I wanted my money back!
It hurts your feet REALLY BAD to ice skate. But the rest is amazing
We took the duck boat tour. The area is very clean, and a nice bit of history
Great place to visit
Had a Great time ! Learned a lot going through and reading all the facts about the fort.
Fun for the kids. Lots of colonial items to see for adults.
We stopped here on out way through town and had a blast!! It's a small fort but still got our attention. You can climb to the top and walk around. Good view and historical accuracy. Also has a museum to walk through about the battle.
A wonderful place to visit, they have some fun interactive parts to the museum that make it worth while for people who may not be as interested in history as others. Also, getting to see the city from the roof was amazing.
Great museum to learn about mobile history
One of the places I love to visit in mobile
Good place to visit in Mobile.
Poor. Not worth the money
Nice visit back in time
Good service, good food
Very family friendly! Very involved staff members in colonial era costumes!
Friendly staff,. Very informative. Duck boats were great.
Enjoyed all of the history surrounding the fort and how it came to defend Mobile in early days.
Very interesting. I learned a lot.
Great spot for history in the heart of Mobile. The kids can play on the canons and the older ones can get all involved in the quality exhibits. There's an escape room we didn't try and a cafe that was closed when we were there. It would be nice if they had umbrellas for their picnic tables in the middle area.
A great little museum located right over the I-10 tunnel. Definitely kid friendly, with photo opportunities and a small gift shop. Attached restaurant as well.
Good Museum about the early history of mobile and a place to get on the duck boat
I always enjoy stopping by.
Small but cute!
Nice staff, but it was smaller than I thought and I felt like the price was not worth it.
This is a fun little place to stop by if your visiting downtown Mobile. It’s a replica but is well done with plenty of history. There is a little restaurant in the building called Sylvia’s Biscuits and Poboys that is delicious. I love all the updates.
A great family adventure, lots to learn!!
Needs someone when the classes come to tour them. When students come for a field trip they should have someone there to do reenactments of what the fort is about.
Nice Tourist Attraction
It's o.k. nothing to write home about
What even is this place! A skating rink? Multiple open storage rooms? We went on the ramparts down a ramp to a door that didn't open. Thankfully we didn't pay for it. I think this was a museum that went broke, and then got bought out by a tourist company.
Very informative about Mobile's past history!
Awesome historical Fort right in the middle of downtown!
Beautiful learning experience
My family was looking for something to do while visiting downtown so we went to the fort. I will have to say the fort has never looked this good. Lots of new attractions inside and all the extra attention to details make this the place to visit while downtown Mobile. My 9 and 7 year old boys loved the shooting gallery and the museum the most.
I was expecting something different like the other 1600 forts I have visited. It was interesting enough, but i was only there for 30mins.
It's a pretty that there's nothing left of the fort...
Great place to visit
Had a great time! Fun and Informative.
Great place to visit
We liked the museum. It was very informative.
Loved our visit here!
Great info about importance of Mobile in revolutionary are and war of 1812. As it is a replica fort, it is more of a tourist attraction meant for families, i.e. children's shooting gallery.
They have an awesomely knowledgeable staff. Makes the history come alive
Very interesting history with hands-on activities for all ages
Alot of fun. Great way to spend a few hours
Quick place to visit and see some of the history of the Mobile area.
Small, quaint fort... The exhibit could of have been better and longer
Nice little fort, my boys enjoyed the dressing up area.
Great site, but the effort put into touring and curating this place has significantly gone down from years ago.
Duck boat ride was great!
This place has really had a new life breathed into it. We visited during Mardi Gras and purchased a spot on their party platform. For $15 you can not beat being eye level with the floats, clean private bathrooms, climate controlled building and a chance to tour the newly transformed fort. Parking is close and convenient, right across the street, and there is plenty to do (shooting gallery, escape room, ice skating, photo booth, etc). The staff were friendly and very accommodating for the most part.
Outstanding host location for the Gears and Beers bike ride.
Neat replica of an ancient fort - I've been to Mobile over a dozen times yet never realized this place was nestled right downtown (the I-10 tunnel goes right underneath). Very informative, but not a lot of exhibits were finished yet. Perhaps once everything is complete, it will justify its rather high entry fee.
There is not a whole lot to see in Fort Conde itself but it has a great location, which makes it a perfect start point to tour Mobile. The people there are very informative and welcoming!
It's just ok, interesting.
Great place to visit lots of historical things to see
You can learn a lot about Mobile at the fort. There are plenty of attractions around downtown.
Unlike most museums that keep an arm length distance between you and the history you explore, this museum has recreations, questions and a simple escape room to integrate past with present. You also are able to get on the roof and see the city for $8. It's definitely worth visiting.
Seeing the (scale) fort was one of the high points in a recent day trip. We had a nice conversation with the woman in the gift shop who educated us on the history of the fort and surrounding area.
They had a lot of new stuff, it was a lot of fun amd worth the price, also staff was great!
Enjoyed walking around and seeing the Colonial Era buildings
Great field trip for kids! Very knowledgeable staff and interesting exhibits.
Very beautiful place full of history and knowledge. These guys are very welcoming and know their stuff
Great scenery
Everything awesome about the real thing, packaged in a miniature version.
Fun little place to visit. The best part?! All the Pokemon!
We were surprised by the historical content shown in really first class displays in the fort. We and our 2nd grader really enjoyed the visit!
Good history overview for kids. Small.
It's fun to see. Price's are good!
AWESOME, had a great time learning more about the coast of Mobiles history.
Small but interesting
Not worth the money but good to pass some an hour
Great to See
One of our favorite stops in Mobile. So much history in one stop.
Great but small museum. Well done with good information.
What a great learning experience
It was better under the old management
You can bring your dog to the Fort and have breakfast in the courtyard! Love it! Be sure to bring your own poop bags!
Really cool place to visit if you are into history. Lots of cool things to see as well. Self guided tour took me probably 1.5 hours doing it slow.
There is a restaurant inside the fort. I had a unique breakfast sandwich there.
Scale model of original fort. Great exhibits. Costume events out on, but not at the time we visited
Mardi gras good times
Amazing staff and great historical local. Family fun with a great view of the city
Great place
Great venu to hold an event. Gears and Beers 2018 had a fun and well organized after party here.
Small but interesting replica of a piece of Fort Conde with artifacts and and a few interactive exhibits. The entire fort can be viewed in less than an hour, though.
Its a replica, not the real fort. There was some work going around when i went, theres no one at reception and staff around dint bother to answer. The lady who addressed later isn’t so friendly. I dint like the fort and the games dint felt like fun too. May be kids could enjoy. Skip it if you are a history buff.
Fun old spot, been there for many of the vintage motorcycle shows. As well as the duck boat tours.
Great place to bring your children. The history is great!!
Very nice fort and tour. The tour guide was great, and authentic of the era of the place.
Not alot to do and see for the price.
