Picked up my parking pass for the weekend of events beginning October 11th thru the 13th at Talladega Superspeedway. I will be in the suites all weekend.

Call to make sure that track tours are being performed on the day of your visit, then call again the day before your visit. We got there on a Sunday in early April and were told there weren't any track tours, even though I had been told that tours wold be held on that day a month earlier. We were told the day we showed up for a track tour that no track tours were being held because there was some kind of event, although I didn't see any vehicles in the parking lot and the track was quiet. The museum was interesting, but definitely not worth traveling any distance to see.

DANG! So my wife and I were motoring along the freeway in our rented Nissan Sentra sedan from Birmingham, Alabama on our way to Atlanta, Georgia. Nice scenery, heaps of tall lush trees and my wife was driving. We got near the Talladega Superspeedway and my wife asked me if I wanted to check it out. I'm not really into the car races but I do like Will Ferrell and he made a funny movie we liked called Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. Needing to stretch my legs after being on the road for a couple of hours I said yeah. We pulled up near the big Talladega Superspeedway Sign out the front so I could take a photo. After seeing that our progress to the actual race track was barricaded I decided to have a look inside the International Motorsports Hall Of Fame Center so we parked on the lot. I walked in and saw that there was not much going on and the place looked like a tourist relic from another era. Interested visitors could pay $12 for a tour. I took a few photos for my review and started to exit the joint. When I was nearly out the front door I decided to ask the 3 big dudes I had seen earlier sitting on a wooden bench what they were doing. One of them said they had done the tour a couple of hours ago after an Uber brought them there but Uber wouldn't come and pick them up. I might add this raceway is out in the middle of nowhere and I mean nowhere! The same guy said to me they would give us a few bucks to give them a ride down the road.I replied that our Nissan Sentra would not have enough room for the 3 of them and left. I jumped in the car with my wife and told her the unfortunate situation the 3 big guys were in but my wife understandably said she didn't want to give a ride to 3 strange men.We drove down the road a bit and I said to my wife that I feel bad leaving those poor guys stuck there like that. After driving a few hundred yards down the road my wife changed her mind and we went back to give them a lift. When I walked back in there and told the guys we would take them where they needed to be they smiled and laughed and thanked me profusely.They piled into the tight confines of our back seat and couldn't even do up the seatbelts. My wife took off down the road in the direction the guys wanted and I asked them what they did (for a living)? One of them replied, we're drivers. Drivers for who I said? We are drivers for Taylor Swift one of them replied. 3 drivers I said. The guy replied we are 3 of 51 drivers....we are the advance crew with the stage equipment. Then we found out that Taylor Swift had just finished a concert in Miami,FL and her next gig was going to be in Memphis,TN. We thought all this was way cool! I said to the guys smile for a selfie and we all laughed out loud. Pretty soon we were at the place they needed to be ....a huge truck stop. We drove all the way to the back and there they were .....3 huge semi -trailers with Taylor Swift's mug shot on the end. The guys couldn't stop thanking us and all I asked for was photos of the 3 of them in front of their huge rigs and a photo with my wife.The guys told us they've done gigs for Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Kiss, Aerosmith and more. We loved that we helped these nice guys in their time of need. It made us feel good!

So much to see, many historical cars. A few from other types of racing ... even a land speed record car. Seeing NASCAR car development thru time is fun. Many years you could build one yourself, not today though. There is a room with engines, a flathead Ford and a SB Chevy with details of each.

If you are into Nascar and its history, this is the place to visit!!!! Showroom floor has an excellent selection of winning cars through the decades, an area dedicated to the drivers with their driving winning histories and images. Everything pertaining to Nascar is on display. Warning: if you suffer from asthma, use your inhaler prior to going into the building as the mold and mildew content is very high!!!!!!

The International Motorsports Hall of Fame is located just before you get to the Main Entrance at Talladega Superspeedway. It is a great place for adults and children to see a great deal of artifacts that have to do with everything Nascar.

The track tour is a must see, it was amazing seeing the track that close in person. As someone who isn't a huge NASCAR fan it gave me a new appreciation of the sport and seeing the incline on those turns was insane. Now i just need to see an actual race, it looks like it would be an awesome experience.

In 2018 with all the cheap technology available it was a complete disappointment that there are no interactive exhibits for children or adults! Only the most die-hard NASCAR fans would appreciate seeing car after car all of which are labeled "do not touch". It was quite difficult to explain to my children, who are the future of NASCAR, that they were not allowed to touch anything in the entire Museum except for one hokie photograph opportunity in a fake car.

This is a great motorsport place to visit and explore. An amazing museum full of motorsport history and artifacts about NASCAR and NHRC. Not forgetting the iconic film Talledega Nights The Ballad of Ricky Bobby's car. Shake and bake to quote a line from the film. Some amazing collection of cars through the decades of racing. A very sad but interesting memorial to Dale Ernhart an icon in NASCAR to pay respect to. I missed the track tour, as there is a big rebuild being done for 2019. Well worth a visit.

There is something truly impressive about Talladega - seeing the track is amazing. I had NO idea how much of an angle the drivers actually were on when making those turns. I did not realize, either, that the ticket prices were so reasonable. The Museum had so many things to do and see - We could have spent the entire day here just reading the history of the cars and the drivers. They even had speed boats and planes. It was truly amazing.

Just passing through the area I couldn't resist a stop by this Landmark world famous Super Speedway. It was not race day so we toured the museum, wow what a collection of race memorabilia something to see for sure. A trip back there for race day is definitely on my bucket list now.

Place is way cool, my only regrets was not spending another day in here and taking more photos!! HUGE library full of info, and so many iconic cars and record breaking cars. Huge display (in great detail) of the types and builds of motors that shaped stock car racing today. Definitely a place to spend a day or 2 if you are a big gearhead and/or nascar fan.

Fun fun and fun! I'm not a huge nascar fan (gasp) but I really enjoyed my day. So many stories behind the careers and lives of these drivers. The history and roots of NASCAR can be a real adventure. Take the tour of the track while there. Fast does not happen in the bus tour, but lots of cool stories does.
