Self-guided tour. I under estimated the relevance Dr Carver played in our society. A humble man who lived his life very, very humbly. He's not even given 1/10 of the credit he deserves in inventing materials derived from plants. If he patented his inventions the world would have know more of him. Tuskegee institute would have been far wealthier. Maybe they wouldn't have agreed to that disastrous syphilis experiment.

Very informative museum!! Most of the information is about George Washington Carver but you can also find a small portion on Booker T. Washington. Here you will find a very in depth history of Carver's life and inventions with many photos and interactive exhibits. Entrance is free. There is a restroom and bookstore that sells souvenirs. Because there are items like old dishes and a stove in hnds reach I do not recommend this museum for those with rambunctious toddlers unless they are closely supervised or in a really good stroller since no touching is allowed.

Historic museum in Tuscegee University campus, showing all contributions. Very educational! Cancellation stations by the door when you enter for Passport programs and nation parks store next to it. This is the National Park Visitor centre for Tuskegee Institute. Also, to note Visitor parking is available across the street behind Ford Motor Company Library.

George Washington Carver was one of the greatest contributors to American and African-American history that the world will never know. If you're ever in Tuskegee Alabama on the campus of Tuskegee University please come out and visit the George Washington Carver Museum you will not be disappointed.

It was interesting. The tour guide was a bit single minded IMHO, but she did do a good job explaining the exhibits. Perhaps if the guides would explain things on a normal straightforward level instead of trying to show why this/these exhibits were better than anywhere else to to be more precise, not be so competitive about the exhibits. The attitude was no where else in the whole world were there exhibits as well put together as these. The fact is, I’ve seen exhibits all over the country and around the world that would put GWC’s exhibits to shame. Not trying to do that here. Just understand that although they are unique, they’re no racial competitiveness required. ALL races have made monumental contributions to science, the arts, literature, etc.
