Gates were open when we came, cars were parked in the employee, parking lot, but the ticket building wasnt open, and I didnt see anything on Facebook or their website that would indicate they were closed. While we waited other visitors showed up and eventually left, too. The grounds and building looked really nice though. I just wish we could have know they were closed before we drove from Pelham.

Tamika Thompson

Really interesting place to visit. Built in the 1840s it's actually older than Birmingham by about 30 years. It was a plantation back in the day but is now museum run by the city. It sits on 6 acres of well maintained law and gardens. They also host parties there. Worth the five bucks admission, I think it's 3.00 for kids. Worth a look

I've been here twice, once with a tour guide and once without. The tone of the tour itself is an interesting look into how Southerners like to romanticize our not-so-pretty past and the antebellum way of life. The tour guide was a sweet Southern white lady who euphemistically referred to the black slaves who worked here as "servants" as she described the residents and their lifestyle. Ha. They were definitely enslaved people, not servants in 1845/50.

Relive the past in this beautifully kept antebellum home! Gardens are stunning, especially in Spring.Dedicated guide will tell a love story associated with large tree in the front yard. Safe to visit. Ample parking. Browse unique gift shop afterwards.Call it a fun day!

I've been wanting to visit the Arlington Plantation for quite awhile and their Christmas event seemed like the perfect time. The entire experience was charming and we felt as though we were stepping back in time. They offered their historical home tours complete with 4 southern belles in hoop skirts and bonnets, cookies and refreshments, and photo opportunities with Santa. The waived admission this weekend and admission was by donation, but the house was decorated top to bottom and we had a great day. Definitely will be back!

Wonderful piece of history. Fabulous food at their summer lunch.

This was a really neat place to visit!

This was once a SLAVE Plantation... AMERIKKKA has a ugly past... How many slaves died at that place????

Michael Chanslor

If you have never been to Arlington for one of their Thursday lunches or Evening dinners, put this on your things to do in Birmingham list. Their in-house chef creates unique three-course meals for each event. The food is delicious, the company delightful, and the staff is dedicated. To top it all off, the price is reasonable and includes a tour of the historic antebellum home. Better all around experience than any other restaurant in the area.

It was a trip to see how the South was for white people. I am from NYC born 1956. My parents may have experance the cruelty of a people that stole every thing from Native Amarican and Black people. The food was good. The tour was hart breaking!

Went here for the 107.7 lunch. Lunch was a pimento cheese burger and baked beans. It was okay. The table and table cloths were bottom shelf basic. I have never went to a formal lunch with such limited food selection and basic set up.

Beautiful grounds! Unfortunately, we arrived at the house at 2:50, last tickets sold at 3:00, we where denied tickets. They close at 4:00. I would love to have seen the house and we got there before hand. Disappointment.

Another of Birminghams treasures! A photographers dream, i stayed for hours photoing everything in sight! Staff was very friendly. It was really like stepping back in time. The grounds are well kept. I have loved in Birmingham all my life and had never been, now I'm sure Ill go back to do more photos! Pretty sure there are some good ghost stories about this place too!

james Pittner

Was pretty good. It was a bit empty and couldn't get a close look at a lot so seemed like they had less than they do. Not a lot of details about a lot of the displays but the ones that had info were very interesting. Overall, don't regret going but probably wouldn't be upset had we skipped it.

Our work staff had a day away there. The antebellum home was nicely appointed, and I can say that we had what was easily one of the best five meals I have had in the last year. Cornish hen, Johnny cake with a spinach and cream sauce, and creme brulee cheesecake... Very much looking forward to a return trip with a lunch.

Rebecca W

Beautiful house and grounds especially in juxtaposition with the surrounding neighborhood. Really stimulates the imagination to see what the area would have been like in the 1800s. Descriptions of the rooms were well written and the grounds looks great even after last year's drought.
