We moved about a year ago using PODS, and I've finally calmed down enough to review this terrible company. Our PODS delivery guy was nice, and he placed the POD on our street. He was several hours late, but we were just happy to get started moving. He told us that the doors have some issues. We started packing our POD immediately. We saw that a thunderstorm was moving in, so we secured our POD container and headed inside. When we came back to our POD, there were several inches of standing water inside the POD. The delivery guy came back the next day to help us clean up. We had immediately gotten a POD insurance claim going, since we had paid extra for the POD insurance. The delivery guy told us that a similar incident had already happened once that summer in our relatively small town. Horrible. Water had rushed in the door. We take pictures of our $2-3000-worth of damaged/destroyed furniture and books and got back to work. Our POD got picked up early, meaning we didn't have time to get everything in. And PODS denied our insurance claim, saying that they only covered water damage if the POD had been destroyed by hail or something like that. So the door was garbage, and this had happened before, yet they wouldn't cover it. We lost a lot of our stuff that day, and they didn't have the decency to make us whole, despite a history of the exact same issue. Stay away from PODS.
In response: You should be warning your customers that these containers aren't in any way watertight. If this happens twice in a couple months in a single town, that's an issue.
