I was very wary of using long distance movers as I have heard nothing but negative comments about the experience but I really did not want to move myself from Milwaukee to Las Vegas. I have to say my experience was perfect and I could not have been happier. The in home estimate was pretty close to what the end charges were (we had more in storage than we thought so that really is our fault for the extra weight) and ended up being just slightly more than what a Uhaul rental truck + gas would have cost so it was definitely worth having movers. The truck driver was awesome as was the moving crew on the Milwaukee side as they had to deal with construction on St. Paul Ave that did not allow them access to the alley but they put in the extra effort to protect the hardwood floors from the front entrance of the condo building to the elevator. They even kept their composure and remained professional when a crazy neighbor verbally and profanely attacked the crew as we are not suppose to use the front entrance for moves but in this situation it was the only option as the street was closed that allowed access to the alley as was expected to be for many days so rescheduling was not an option. Our stuff arrived very prompt to Las Vegas, almost before us, and again the driver and crew were top notch. Nothing was broken and all the boxes were in great shape so they did an excellent job both packing and unpacking. Very happy and satisfied with the whole experience.

The Coakley Brothers team was fantastic from the first call to the day the loaded my stored furniture onto a moving truck to meet me at my new home. I appreciate the care and effort each member made to make my move as smooth as possible

I used Coakley for a cross country move and recommend them highly! They were professional and competitive on price. Everyone from the estimator, office staff, packers and unloading crew were pleasant and extremely hard working. We had a challenging location and they managed all with a positive attitude. Everything arrived intact. Would absolutely use them again!

I was pleased with the care of the team who both loaded and unloaded my household. They were particularly careful of some fragile items and went to extra lengths to pad and pack them. All arrived without damage. It was a good experience.

The packers and truck driver were all very helpful in my move. They were very efficient and packed and labelled everything. My estimate was very close to accurate and everything occurred as expected. I would definitely use them again if I needed.

Our experience with Coakley Bros. was first-rate. Professional, hard-working, efficient, courteous and careful - these are the qualities you want in a moving company. Kudos to Dan, Calvin, Shawn, Eddie and Spencer for such a great job - at a very fair price. These are the guys you want to move you. This was a residential move from MKE suburb to Downtown.

Sandra Schwantes

Fantastic movers! Friendly, respectful and efficient! Couldn't believe how fast they were taking apart beds and getting them set up. Very impressed!

Moved with them from MKE to Indiana. It could not have been a better experience. They had polite and knowledgeable packers and a super organizer on the truck, and the business organizer who did the walkthrough with us was amazing. Extremely accurate charges (very competitive), courteous. Nothing broken or damaged. They were extremely careful not to damage the walls, nor the floors, and and and. We also utilized their third party which dissassembled and assembled some items - superb - and a car transport. I recommend them highly.

The mover called 30 minutes before my appointment to say he would be 3 hours late and then didn't bother showing up at all. Didn't call or answer my calls, just plainly didn't show up. One of the worst customer experiences I've ever had

We hired Coakley Brothers/ Allied moving to move our household items on July 31 to be moved to our new home in Anthem, AZ on Aug 6/7. Ken Kruk, the salesperson gave us a bid of approximately $7200, which covered loss and mysterious disappearance and would eliminate any deductible should the movers lose or damage our items. When it came time to move our things, the movers were 4 hours late in arrival. They did not cover our floors, pad our stairway or protect our home against dirt or damage as was promised in the agreement. Pete, the driver had hired a new crew who was quite inexperienced. During the move at our former home, they damaged my husband’s Amish dresser, damaged our walls and left our home filthy. They also failed to label at least 25 boxes, leaving them unattended at the end of our driveway for hours. We gave them water, soda, and juice and still they left our home in a terrible state which required us to spend several hours cleaning it again before the new owners moved in. The movers also charged us several thousand dollars more than the quoted amount, saying that the weight was higher-- this shocked us no end as we brought LESS than was originally listed by Ken Kruk on his IPad when he came to our home in June and inventoried our items. They told us that if we did not pay immediately that we would not receive our things. This sounds like extortion to me. When they arrived at our new home, they proceeded to rapidly unload our items. They did not put our Sleep Number bed together properly as was promised to me by Ken Kruk and consequently, it still does not operate properly. The movers also stripped the screws on our Amish bed frame and never offered to repair. I attempted to quickly unload boxes as the movers were unloading our things on August 7, but was told that they could not take our empty boxes with them, nor could they wait around for me to unload the boxes. Pete, the driver had me sign off on the sheet he provided because he said he was in a hurry to get to San Diego for another job. I asked him about all of the boxes that had no labels and he said that I had 90 days to file a claim if anything was missing or damaged. As we unpacked the remainder of our things over the following couple of weeks, I realized that approximately $3000 worth of items were missing and I immediately filed a claim with Allied. They said they would put a trace on our items. I figured they were being sincere about trying to find our things. It took 6 weeks to finish the “trace” on our things. Today I received a letter stating that they are not responsible for losing our things because I signed off on the paperwork that the driver made me sign before he left on August 7. They said that because I signed the paper that it meant that we did not lose anything. We are left to wonder why they bothered to have a trace on our things if they did not believe the items were lost. Some of these things were priceless, such as two gold coin collections, and a set of family DVDs that I had just made from old VHS tapes before we moved. They also lost several small appliances of ours. I believe that Allied moving is irresponsible and I believe that they are lying about looking for our things. I feel that we were robbed by this company and they overcharged us because customers are vulnerable when moving and Allied can easily take advantage of their vulnerability. Turns out that the extra amount paid for no deductible seems to be a scam in order to garner even more money from the vulnerable. And then, to fight this further, we have to pay more of our money to hire an attorney or to hire and arbitrator. Pretty horrific, considering that Coakley brothers failed to follow through after taking thousands and thousands of our dollars.

Everyone was polite and concerned.

Used Coakley Brothers for a cross-country move. Terrible experience. Lies and made-up charges. Used Schroeder Moving (also in Milwaukee area) for a second cross-country move and was very satisfied. Schroeder is an honest and professional organization. Highly recommend them over Coakley.

Where do I begin? They were on time to pick up all of our possessions in WI to be delivered to SC. It was to take 3 days to get our items. Since another client cancelled their move at the last dog, they hung around WI for several more days trying to get another load on their truck. It took 11 days to get our things. They were delivered to a storage facility where we kept them for 6 months. In the storage unit our stuff was stacked poorly so that we could not really get at anything for fear of a king size mattress falling on us. When we finally took our items out of the storage, it was unbelievable how much damage was done to our things. I am convinced that that truck was involved in a rollover accident. I was told to leave desk drawers intact and they would be shrink wrapped and contents remain in place. How did the entire contents of my deck get flipped over? Most pieces of furniture had large scratches or dents. Something bad happened in that truck on the way here. The TOPPER....was when we picked up the box with our brand new chainsaw and found it had been ripped open and stolen. Allied and Coakley Brother have basically told us to go scratch. If you want stolen items, scratch & dent furniture delivered late, call these jokers. I can't believe Allied puts their name on these rip offs.

This was the best moving experience we had, and we moved twice over the pond and multiple times in Germany or the U.S. . Great planning and scheduling, great communication, and nothing broke or got scratched.

First time ever using a moving company. Couldn't have been a more horrible experience. They lied from the first phone call, quoted 3 guys and 4 1/2 hours. They said they needed a 4th guy which made the price per hour go up. Then 4 1/2 hours was 8 1/2 do to these so called movers talking and taking so much time to load and unload a truck. Worst part my husband moved all boxes the day before so just furniture took 8 1/2 hours. Quoted $895.00 and at the end almost $1800. When I called to talk to Ken who quoted me the lady said he would call me back, that was a week ago. Dont make the mistake we did, and don't waste your hard earned money on this scam.

Coakley Brothers was the desination agent for my move to Milwaukee last spring. After the move they fabricated $2200 in additional charges and have since then attempted to extort the money from me by threatening legal action. I recommend you go with a more reputable business.

Theresa Schenck

I was very pleased with the movers who packed and moved my things from Wisconsin, as well as the people who delivered my things to Washington. They were thorough and attentive and very considerate.

This company has accommodated me last minute and provided a 5-star service! The movers very very friendly and professional, they worked carefully and quickly, and made the process of moving to a different state much more manageable. The price wasn’t an issue for me since my new job was paying for all expenses. None of my furniture was damaged and arrived safely and on time to my new place. I also loved the fact that the movers took care to use extra blankets and wrapping materials to protect my furniture and were very quick to take apart and put together the furniture when needed. Will definitely consider this company for my next move!
