My husband and I are on our late 60's and moving is stressful, I bid out our move to 5 local moving companies and chose A1-Movers because of their reviews. Were they the least expensive? Not hourly BUT they took less time. Four young men showed up at our door five minutes early, introduced themselves, and were exceptionally cheerful. I raised 2 sons and these four guys not only did the company proud but their parents also. So polite and respectful! The move took 9.5 hours and filled two 26 ft trucks. All four other bids came in at 11-14 hours for 2-3 movers and 1 1r 2 trucks. They moved my 3000 sq ft house and a "stuffed to the rafters" 10 x 14 storage locker. They really knew how to pack a truck carefully and I have many glass tables. Not one item was scratched or broken. They asked many questions while moving items into our condo and were so willing (and cheerful) to try pieces of furniture in different places. It is hard to believe but their banter back and forth actually sounded like they were having FUN!!! Tip them well...they deserve it!

We hired A1 for our moving needs over the weekend as they came highly recommended from our realtor. They did not disappoint! They were able to store our things over night for us. Chase & Jacob did a fantastic job moving our stuff. They were very fast and efficient. They also took great care of our furniture and the walls even with lots of awkward stairs to deal with. ******Brandon reached out to me to try to resolve these things. I got so busy that I didn't get to talk to him, but he did reach out wanting to fix things. I give them credit for that. Overall they did a very good job with the move. The young men are for the most part professional. The reason why I'm not giving them 5 stars is because of what I feel to be a bait and switch. Brandon came to our home, walked the home and told us that it was a 6-7 hour job. You can see from the reviews that he has told other people the same thing. We were charged for 17 hours all said and done. While Brandon was out our home moving our things, he fielded many calls. He told every single person with a whole house move that it takes 6-7 hours to move a whole house. I personally thought that 6-7 hours was aggressive, but Brandon quoted that to everyone. He will tell you 6-7 hours for a whole house move. He did come to my house and walked through and took inventory of everything before making the quote, so he was way off. Additionally, they damaged a couple pieces of furniture and put two holes in the wall. I personally witnessed one of the accidents that caused a hole in the wall. The worker said that they would take care of it. When he approached it was dismissed. Additionally, there were two pieces of furniture that had been broken, one of them the leg was broken off the bottom of a cabinet and it was propped up and nothing said about it. We discovered it days later when we went to reposition the cabinet. They did not complete the job on the first day and had to comeback to finish another day. They spent just under one hour working including a 20 minute drive from one location to the other (only 4 blocks away) but charged me for 2 hours. When I questioned it, I was told that I had to pay for 1 hour of travel time from Sauk City, I live in Baraboo. I don't feel I should have had to pay for one hour of travel time for a job they didn't finish the first time, but nonetheless they did it and didn't concede. Finally, I had a jacket and a sweatshirt disappear. I called to ask if they knew where it was and I was just told it must have been packed into one of our boxes. It makes no sense that someone would have taken these, I don't believe anyone did. But the bottom line is that it never made it from one house to the other. In all I spent about $2500. I would have been content with paying $2500 if that is what they would have told me up front, but Brandon made it out to be 6-7 hours at $145 per hour. He clearly knew, and knows better yet that is what he tells everyone. They did a good job overall, but it would have been nice to see them take responsibility and make good on the damages that they were responsible for. I applaud the hard work of the guys, but have concerns with the business practices.

After 41+ years in the same house it was time to downsize. We hired A-1 Movers and they sent us their A-Team.....Max & Travis. I can’t say enough about how well they did their job! They methodology emptied our home while making sure not a wall was nicked nor any item damaged.....including my wife’s beloved glass china cabinet. Then, in reverse, they filled our new home with the same amount of care while never showing any sign of just wanting to get the job done. Then, after 8 hours of nonstop loading and unloading, they delivered our piano to our daughters house. You’re crazy if you don’t hire these guys.

Not a single item broken along the way. Unloading was very fast and all boxes/furniture placed exactly where we requested. We just had the most wonderful moving experience ever. Our movers were Bailey, Nolan, and Lucas. The team arrived right at the scheduled move time. The first thing the team did was a walk through of all of our belongings to make sure they understood what items needed to be moved. All of our belongings were moved without a scratch or dent. The team was hard working, polite, and professional. During initial conversations I was told our double move would take about 8.5 hours and that is exactly how long it took. If you are looking to hire movers look no further than A1 Movers.

I was very concerned about the move due to adverse weather conditions, several inches of snow all during the day of the move, but Max and Zach managed to work through it all with very positive attitudes. They were very diligent about trying to keep everything dry and clean, but under those conditions it was very difficult. One thing management could do is to invest in carpet protection tape for those types of conditions. They did offer to have the manager come over with a carpet cleaner, I declined, and they did give me a credit for cleaning which was not expected. All in all, I am very pleased with the quality of work and the professionalism Max and Zach displayed. I will use A1 Movers again.

We had Lucas and Nolan move our heavy Amish oak furniture. They arrived on time the morning of the move. This is impressive in itself as we live in the country about 40 miles north of the Dells and most GPS servers do not find our house. They were polite, friendly, cheerful and professional. Great care was taken with all of our furniture. I was impressed with how they wrapped everything so the furniture was well protected. First they looked at everything that needed to be put in their truck. Then they went to work. They fit everything into the truck like a jigsaw puzzle. Very impressive. Our furniture and household items are being stored by A1 movers until out new home is ready. We are very glad we found A1 movers. The price was reasonable and Lucas and Nolan made the move stress free. Thank you A1 movers.

Spoke with Brandon on the phone, who was very professional and most helpful. Josh and Tristan helped us move to our new home, doing the job professionally and without complaint. When we saw there was room in the trailer for more items than we had asked them to move, we asked if we could add more boxes to fill the space. They enthusiastically filled the trailer and delivered everything without any damage whatsoever. When we mentioned that we would have to move the furniture again in the near future to install flooring, they informed me that they can also come to our home to pull all of our furniture out of the house and stage it in our garage. Then, after the floors are installed, come back and move it all back in. I give them five stars, and will most certainly use their services again!

Max and Bailey arrived promptly at 8am. Both were very professional. The move (even though it was not even 1/4 mile down the road) went smoothly. They were able to maneuver around sharp, steep stairs of an old farmhouse without hesitation. They also moved a large chest for my father in law that wasn’t planned. We have used A1 Movers for our last two moves and would use them again if we were to move again. I also had to reschedule our move twice due to our house not being finished and I was able to reschedule without any difficulty. I highly recommend them.

I would use A1 moving company again. But a couple of pointers to the management- it would be helpful to have a discussion about floor protection ahead of time. Especially when the weather is wet. Moving our house and full workshop seemed like a huge task that I wasn't sure could be completed in one day. A1 Movers sent over Chase, Nolan, and Keith. They worked efficiently and were always thinking about the next step so our move would go as smooth as possible. They did a great job! I would definitely hire A1 again.

I read the reviews and would like to make a comment: I have moved 10 times in 10 years. Two of the moves were cross country with major moving companies with full or almost full semis. It is very hard to predict the time it will take to completely load a trailer or van. Much depends on the size of the boxes, professional movers who do the packing use boxes sized to fit the trailers so that packing and loading is easier. They do not always know what is behind cabinet and closet doors. For those of us who pack our own, mismatched and weak boxes make their job more difficult. They do their their best to protect the furniture. A1 had all of the appropriate blankets to protect my furniture that could not get any more damaged from the “service” I received from INCOMPETENT CONTRACTED UHAUL MOVERS. I am very particular about the boxes I use. I get my boxes from hospitals. They tend to have sturdy boxes that are all fairly regular in size. Again, I think many factors go into evaluating the time it will take to load and move a house. Perhaps Brandon should overestimate the time. Overall I am very satisfied with the outstanding job they did. That is my comment to those giving a less than 5 star rating. I am sorry for your experiences and it looks like Brandon has reached out to each of you. That is my 2 cents worth. I wish I could remember the names of the guys that moved me. In March 2018 I moved from a cabin in a wooded area along the Wisconsin River. The driveway was quite long, a little windy and quite narrow because of tree cover which I would have assumed would have been hard to maneuver for someone not knowing the area. They loaded the trailer and we headed to Middleton. The move had to be postponed twice, I think. My father was in and out of the hospital and ultimately died. They were very accommodating with the changing of dates, as was the apartment complex I was moving into. Their professionalism was top notch. I did not have any damage to my furniture (unlike the contracted movers I had from uHaul on my previous move). The overall experience I would rate a 12 if I could. THANKS TO A1 for an exceptional moving experience. I will not hesitate to use you again. I would love to swing by and take a photo of your truck and trailer off to the side of highway 12. That is better advertising than some billboards

We contracted 3 movers to make the move go faster and it took them 12 hrs to do a 6-7 hour job. We have experience moving so this is not new to us but the fact that it took so much time was ridiculous. Very disappointed.

Brandon and Dude moved me on 3/12/18 from outside Verona into Middleton I was given an estimate of 4 hours for the move. However these two guys knocked it out of the park and had me moved in 3 1/4 from start to finish including drive time. I saved money as well because they made the move so fast. I was very very happy they took the stress out of that part of moving for me. I will use A 1 movers again on my next move and have already suggested them to other people as well. A 1 gets an A++
