I had them deliver a bunch of furniture that we had put in storage there a few years ago. It all went swimmingly. They were easy to talk to in setting a date, they came on time. I was impressed that all the pieces were individually wrapped in those big moving pads and they said yes they were stored that way the whole time. The guys doing the moving were efficient, nice guys, and the job got done quickly. I will say their estimate was high, but the actual charge, based on their actual time taken was quite reasonable, much less than the estimate, so that was a nice surprise!

Rick and Josh did an outstanding job delivering our furniture that had been in storage. On the morning of delivery, we had no power and there was a fallen tree blocking access to our house from one direction. But that didn't faze them - they arrived early (despite having to take a ferry and navigate the downed tree), and put furniture together in the dark.

Last week, Hansen Bros. moved our belongings out of storage and into our new home . Each step of this process -- move out, storage, move in -- was very well handled. Our belongings were returned to us in good order, and the move out and move in crews were terrific -- professional, fast, efficient, and friendly. This was my first interstate move and I was a bit apprehensive after reading about all the horrible experiences people have had with moving companies. We were very impressed with the moving services we received from Hanson Bros. In the 30 years we lived in our large old Seattle Craftsman we'd accumulated lots of furniture through housemates and by hosting friends and guests. We received 4 bids for moving and only 2 of them wanted to visit the house. Dave Albaugh came and took inventory indicating we required 2 box trucks, which was surprising. They had no-parking signs posted in front of the house several days ahead of time. On moving day they were able to park one in front of the house and one in the alley to unload the daylight basement. John's crew of 5 arrived at 9:00AM and were finished before 3:00PM. It surprised me to see they loaded the trucks from the sides so they could pack both the front and back. Since we were moving to Olympia, 60 miles away, they held the loads in their locked warehouse until the next day. The same crew showed up at our new home exactly at 10:0AM as promised. We had requested to load one room so it could be unloaded first to allow our cats to stay in there. They unloaded from the back and that plan worked fine. They were very careful and inventive about getting furniture into odd shaped passages. They had the tools to disassemble/reassemble items that wouldn't make it. I did not see any marks on walls, ceilings or floors at either house. I would recommend Hanson Bros. Transfer and Storage to anyone planning to move. Jon

I had used your services previously when I helped some clients downsize and decided to use your services for my move to California. The people, from packers , loaders and drivers were all extremely professional and helpful. They communicated well, cleaned up, and were very thorough. It went so smoothly, as well as the arrival and unpacking. You picked a great driver and company to get me into California after leaving your facility. Rick, Justin, and Dawn were the group that helped me move. Rick and Justin were so full of energy and really knew what they were doing they were in and out of the house I was moving out of like nobody's business. Dawn was the support staff assisting the guys and prepping the place so things wouldn't get dinged or scratched up. Really fantastic team with a positive attitude, you can tell they're experienced movers and even came under on the quote provided. Three strong men arrived right on time yesterday. They were very careful with our furniture, especially with a massive, heavy glass and mirror display cabinet. Our hardwood floors had just been refinished a month ago, and the men were very careful not to damage them. They removed shoes (without asking) and put down clean blankets. As other reviewers did we requested bids from several movers, and Dave Albaugh from Hansen Bros was the only one to visit our home to see what we'd be moving before providing a quote. Although Hansen Bros was not the least expensive, we went with them because they made us feel like our move, and care of our belongings, was as important to them as it was to us. Absolutely wonderful service by the guys who actually moved us - Art, Jimmy, Ronald and L. They were on-time, very friendly and easy to work with, and did a masterful job moving all of our stuff in a professional and caring manner. This review is for Allied Van Lines and their agent Hansen Bros. Moving. I moved a 3 bdrm house content from Seattle to Southern California. In my many moves this was one of the worst I've experienced. 1. They didn't take care of packing and moving my goods (see pictures). one of the 3 packers was clearly incompetent and wasn't supervised resulting in damage to many items. All items numbered to manage inventory 2. My shipment wasn't weighed 3. My shipment was split - they couldn't fit it on one truck so it split into two. My furniture on one truck, boxes on another 4. Shipment 1 they said would arrive on Monday. Saturday night the driver called to say Sunday. Driver gave me a handwritten note of what was taken and what was left 5. Shipment 2 they said Tue or Wed. It came on Thu on a smaller feeder truck. All boxes were renumbered - for what reason I still don't know - with no cross reference. Result: I can't tell if I received in full what was shipped. I would not recommend either of these companies but particularly Hansen for their execution. I can't tell if I received everything, the lack of care in packing resulted in more damage than I've experienced in moves, and the additional stress their incompetence put on my move. The office people are very nice - but they'd need to be with the execution of his move.

Three times we were going to move. Two of the times the deal got screwed up. But, Hansen Company was always available and flexible to help us out. When we finally had a deal, it was not an easy move. We are located on an island with only ferry service and we were moving parts of two homes and delivering to two addresses. The crew was on time, always polite, always willing to do one more thing to help during a stressful time. Nothing was broken. I can not recommend a better moving company. They allowed me to keep my sanity, which was waning quickly.

Worth every penny. They were wonderful. Hard to believe but they made moving a good experience. We had two shipments, one of them to Canada so it was a bit more complicated than most moves and they handled the complexities well. They communicated with me frequently and kept me updated as the Allied drivers moved the shipments. My moving crew, consisting of John, Robert, and Sonny, performed in a laudable fashion, and should be personally commended by Hansen Bros. management. I write this as a veteran of many moves, both domestic and international, and rank this Hansen Bros. move as the best I have undertaken. The move-out was a complex one, given the architectural design of the building, but John organized the team and each person worked long and hard in getting our furniture out of the building. Fortunately, the move-in portion was less demanding, but the team still gave its all, despite the long hours they had already worked. John made useful suggestions regarding placement of furniture, and was extremely helpful in that regard. I saw less of Robert and Sonny as they were handling the out-of-apartment portion, but the teamwork that they exhibited showed how intensely they all worked for the common good. I specifically ask that you bring my comments to the attention of John, Robert, and Sonny, and I take great delight in knowing of the presence of Hansen Bros. should another move be in my future.

This was a move I was dreading because both the neighbor and I, who are not spring chickens, didn’t feel like we had adhered closely to the suggestions that Paula the marketing gal had given us. The task was bigger than our energy level. I figured we would be repacking or Hansen Bros would just tsk us and say, “too bad, can’t take that”. Those young bucks bent over backwards to make our friend’s move go smoothly and efficiently, leaving nothing behind that was move ready. They treated the belongings with respect and care but even better, they treated us that way too! The bill at the end was less than predicted which was a nice surprise as well! I would trust Hansen Bros with any of my things, and trust the young men to do any move for me. Hansen Bros definitely trained and vetted these fellows well. Brad was the 1st moving and storage professional we spoke with who actually was willing to come to our home to view our belongings and the challenging parking area around our condo. He educated us, provided a contract quickly once we decided, and gave us a date. George called exactly when Brad said he would, and Art, Ross, Ronald, Adam, and William were awesome! All my contents were delivered as promised and under budget....again! I will definitely use them again and I continue to recommend them. The move was scheduled quickly and efficiently; follow up the week of the move confirmed the details; payment was easy. While my goods were in storage, I needed to access the storage pod and find two tables that had to be delivered to the painter. The warehouseman was very helpful; he cheerfully moved most of the furniture in two pods to find the tables and all their parts. And put it all back in. He could not have been more helpful. Once my things were out of my house - the level of service, proper handling/security and ability to provide accurate and honest updates was out the window. Hansen Bros. efficiently coordinated things from three places in order to finish my move: they loaded up furniture that was in permanent storage, they unpacked and repacked the contents of 2 PortaBoxes into the same truck, and they moved some heavy wardrobes and boxes at my apartment. After all of these things were loaded onto the truck, they drove to my new house. They unloaded all the boxes into the rooms as I directed. And surprise to me, my furniture wouldn't fit through a door (oops) so they removed a door so it would fit through and then put the door back. And they completely reassembled my bed so I didn't have to do that at the end of moving day. Thank you!

Update from Original Below: Immediately after posting what I did below (which I'd also sent to the company on their internal feedback form many days earlier), I was contacted by the owner who fixed the situation. 2 guys came out today to move my bookshelf to it's intended location free of charge and all is well in the world. Very courteous guys again who did the move, and everyone this entire time was very professional. In reality, I never dealt with anyone unprofessional -- in fact, I think we were all just tired after a long long day of moving (9 hrs) and lots of stairs and we all forgot to do the final walkthrough on placement - I did all but the basement room without prompting but I should've done more. Original: The guys didn't put a bookcase where I asked them to after it wouldn't fit where I originally thought. They moved one but not both of the bookcases that wouldn't fit (and left the one that didn't fit on it's side in a room it can't stand up in so now I need friends to come help me move it). I should've double checked but forgot after a very long day.

Trucks don’t stop easily (I drive one), but bikes do NOT have magic brakes either. You need to teach your drivers to pay attention to the road, and ESPECIALLY bikes. I don’t want to die because of your drivers inattentiveness (or lack of caring) while driving.

We have never had this happen before in a move (and we've moved a number of times), but our nanny had $1000 -$1200 cash go missing 2 hours into our move while the furniture was being moved & the trucks were being loaded. She was in tears and we had to stop the move, have a very awkward meeting with the crew, have 2 supervisors out, file a police report, etc. and then continue with the rest of the move. It was a nightmare. There were 6 guys on the crew and likely only one involved in the theft, which in a lot of ways made it worse. To be fair, the crew was otherwise very good and in fact we even tipped them b/c it didn't seem fair to stiff all 6 when only one was likely involved. But this loss of money is mind-boggling and extremely violating. Of course she shouldn't have left that amount of cash unsecured but we all know how chaotic it is preparing for a move and unfortunately, sometimes things like this slip your mind. Anyhow, I didn't want to post a review to this effect until I'd given Hansen Bros. the opportunity to do something about it other than say "sorry, just file a police report," but unfortunately we've heard nothing from them since the move. We reimbursed our nanny for the loss b/c we feel responsible for putting her in this situation - we selected the movers after all. But it's very disappointing that Hansen Bros hasn't otherwise stepped up to try to make things right. No offer of a discount, no offer of a credit for a future move, no offer to split the loss, nothing. I feel like there was more they could have done and, were I in their shoes, I certainly would have.

Hansen is comprehensive yet flexible. I ended up doing more of my own packing and they simply took that amount off the total price. You pay for what you need and can save money by putting in your own time and effort to prepare...or not, depending on what you want them to do to help move. I was even able to move up my moving day and they readily accommodated. I could tell my furniture was protected and treated with care. Communication and follow-up was topnotch. Zach, Andrew, Daniel and Lance were a great team to work with. They were professional, polite and helpful all along the way. They were fast and efficient and helped with suggestions about how to deal with odd items we had not been able to figure out how to pack (we did our own packing). My husband had a whole wood working shops of heavy equipment to move and they handled it all with now problem, including large rolling racks of raw wool for future woodturnings. On unloading, they were conscientious in ascertaining where things needed to go and quickly responded (or sometimes even asked) if they could/should relocate. No time wasted with these guys! Great team. Already recommended Hansen Bros., and this specific team to a neighbor in Seattle who is also moving later in the month. The 2-man crew (Dallas and George) came about 1/2 hour before the time window which had been set up--we were delighted. They took a short look at what they had to do and got the job done (moving huge and heavy desk from one room to another) within 10 minutes. They knew just what they were doing. They did the little extras we asked for (like re-hanging a solid core door and affixing small pads under the tiny metal desk feet so they wouldn't scratch the floor, etc.). From start to finish, I estimate they were here for 15 to 20 minutes. They were friendly and professional. We truly appreciated their expertise!
