This was our first experience hiring movers. We have a 10 month old, so I knew we'd be distracted and stressed, and wasn't sure how much oversight movers would need. But Jeff and Douglas were amazing- they were on time, packed our moving pods like absolute Tetris masters, and even helped disassemble some furniture that we didn't have the right wrench for. They came exactly at the time they said they were, they gave me a call 30 min prior to them being on the way so I had plenty of time to get home in time to meet them. When I initially emailed, I received a spot-on estimate (no hidden fees or extra costs) and scheduling my move was easy! I couldn’t believe how accurate they were. Jeff was great and worked with me and my father (who helped me since I moved 2 hours away). They called 30 minutes before they arrived and once they showed up, they didn’t stop working! They were extremely efficient, pleasant and really took the time to wrap my furniture so it would not get dinged or scratched. Jeff sent me an invoice (for taxes and work) the same day as my move. Jeff and his team blew away every expectation that we had for a moving company! They arrived on time and moved our stuff so quickly and safely I was surprised! We had previously been accustomed to a moving process that took all day, but Jeff & his team had all our stuff in to our new house with the whole afternoon to spare. They were friendly and obviously knew what they were doing, wrapping furniture that needed extra protection, disassembling (and then reassembling at the new house), and even protected the floors at the new house. We'd definitely use them again although we hope not to move for a long time, so in the meantime we'll recommend them to all our friends & family!

Potomac Moving provided a prompt and detailed estimate before the move. On moving day they showed up on time and called before arriving. The four man crew was very courteous and took great care in moving items. They moved the contents of my small townhouse and two rental storage spaces in their 26 ft. truck and completed the entire move from Reston to Bristow in 5 hours (1 hour less than their estimate). We searched for months for a moving company that would meet our needs to move to a storage unit and then out of it into a new apartment. The movers had it down to a precise art. The furniture was wrapped, gently moved, and extremely well taken care of. We were so pumped, that we were willing to do whatever it took to book them on the other end (despite scheduling difficulties). They also moved swiftly as to ensure, as much as possible, that they do not go over the scheduled block. If you need a mover in the DMV area, look no further.

They were not only amazingly fast, efficient, professional and courteous at all times, but they took exceptional care with every box and piece of furniture. They came fully equipped with packing blankets, tapes and boxes to wrap up furnitures and our TV that were harder to be wrapped by ourselves. These guys are the best movers in the Beltway! Efficient, safe, and tireless. We had them for 6 hours and the only time they took a break was for driving to the storage facility we are using til our house is ready. Pricing was VERY good and they did not up sell hours that wouldn't be used or how many people would be needed to complete your move. He called and texted 40 min early to warn me they were on the way but due to bad coverage of where my new house was, I didn't get the messages so I was late to moving the stuff from my old house. OK, so I scoped out some things and gave the lead man my opinions of how to do his job. Not big things, but little things like how to get into my new building and such. Thank God he totally ignored me and did it his own way because he saved a hundred dollars or more. This guy was sharp. (Of course I could have kept up with him if I was 30 years younger.) (-: All three men worked hard and smart. I don't think anyone could have done my move faster. (And I was paying by the hour so one might expect a little less effort of working quickly.) My advise is to give them full control and stay out of their way while they work. Outstanding in every way. I would give the down side if there was one but these guys are everything I was told by friends that they would be. The only downside of paying by the hour is that you worry about wasted time. They got that big truck to my new home before I could drive there in my car. (Not much before, but they did beat me.) By the way, they actually found a quicker way of entering my building than I had figured out. Stop looking for a mover right now and hire this guy!

The Potomac Moving Company moved me on May 7th, 2019. It was a complicated move involving moving furniture and belongings from my old apartment and separate storage unit to my new apartment. Jeff and his crew made an event I was dreading a stress-free time. The move went quickly and smoothly. They carefully wrapped my furniture even made a 4th stop to drop an item off that I was gifting to a friend. They set up my bed and placed all my furniture in my new location. Also, Jeff is a truly nice guy. And I felt his price was very reasonable. I would use this company again. Due to flooding in my new apartment, I again asked contacted Jeff to move me to a new apartment. So on August 3rd, 2019, approximately 3 months after my first move, a Potomac Moving crew of three showed up to move me once again. As before, it was an awesome, no-hassle event. On time move, got a call ahead of time to give me extra time to prepare. And we're timely on working effectively and quickly. All the guys were polite and respectful to moving all of the packages. Even when given a heads up a table was already broken, they packaged it very well. Though one small table did have a small breakage, it was quickly brought up to and informed prior to bringing in. The communication was greatly appreciated and The team made sure to ask where before they brought in packages where to go by having a walkthrough together in the beginning of the drop off, which really helped make the move easy. What a wonderful moving experience! In 2017, I orchestrated four moves, and I consider myself a seasoned mover. This move stands apart from all others (and former military so many, many moves) in that all my phone calls where dealt with by Jeff, the owner. After hearing some horror stories about moving company experiences from friends, I was nervous looking for a mover. From the very beginning, Potomac Movers were extremely professional, responsive, and detailed in all communications. They provided reasonable expectations and suggestions to make the move go more efficiently. They called the day before to verify the time window, then again the morning of the move to provide their ETA once they had left VA (I live in Baltimore, MD). The crew was friendly, careful, and very hard-working. I did not have to manage them at all! I was THRILLED when they completed the job in the 2-hour minimum (not the 3 hours I estimated). Saved me some money which I rightly shared with the crew as a tip. Do yourself a favor and hire these guys.

My wife and I cannot say enough GREAT things about Jeff and his team of movers from Potomac Moving Company. Last week during the spring blizzard of 2018 that shutdown schools and the federal government; Jeff and Potomac Moving were at our home during the scheduled time of arrival with an immaculately clean moving truck and all the “tools of the trade” for a professional-level move. We NEVER would have been able to do this with a self-move “Uhaul-style” effort with friends and family. Do not attempt it…call Jeff and Potomac for a great quote/move. I highly recommend anyone in the DC/NOVA-area to give Potomac Moving serious consideration for any upcoming moving requirements. Jeff’s team were professional and courteous. They had all the things you need to make the move simple and easy. We moved from a rental and needed to keep the unit clean and to have “scratch-free walls/stairs/elevators”. From padding to carpet runners, all the surface areas of the rental were protected during the heavy lifting process (helping us to get our FULL deposit back from the happy landlady). We like the family-owned business that Potomac Moving is building and realize their personal touch was important to our new family. They made a very stressful period in our life simple and nearly carefree. While we don’t expect to need movers in the near future, Potomac Moving would be our first and ONLY call next time. We used Potomac Moving Company for a 2018 interstate move from VA to NJ. Jeff was always fast and courteous with all communication. An extra added touch was that Jeff reached out the day before our move to touch base and confirm the arrival time of his moving team. The price for services was fair and there were no hidden fees. The moving team showed up exactly at the promised times and arrived clean, organized, and ready to work. The moving team was also friendly and professional - all of our items were shrink wrapped and draped in moving blankets; everything arrived safe and nothing was damaged or broken. Hired Jeff and his crew for a fairly small move on May 12th and I cannot say enough good things about these guys. Jeff was great about staying in touch before the move date (I had booked them almost 2 months in advance) and showed up right on time the day of. All said and done, their 3 man team had our 2 bedroom unit loaded and unloaded at our new place in exactly 3 hours. They were extremely careful with all of our furniture, wrapped up a few dressers and bookcases that I requested, and were extremely aware of their surroundings when moving into the new place as not to scrape or mark anything. All 3 guys were extremely nice, personable, and truly cared about all of our belongings. Price was beyond fair and I will absolutely be using and recommending them in the future!

I found Potomac Moving Company on Yelp when looking for someone to help with a move last weekend. Jeff was very professional and explained my options. Pricing was upfront with nothing hidden and cheaper than the other quotes I received. Because of their good reviews I decided to book with them. He called the day before to confirm, he called before he arrived and arrived at the beginning of the window he had provided. Jeff and his two guys worked very quickly and took great care when handling everything. They made sure to wrap everything very well. My new place involved them carrying large pieces down stairs that had a turn. It was no problem and they left no damage to walls, carpet or my furniture. Moving is never a pleasure, but dealing with Jeff and his crew made it a little more tolerable. I will definitely use them in the future and recommend them to anyone.

Potomac Moving Company was just completely awesome to deal with. My wife and I had an opportunity to move over an hour away in a 30 day period and Jeff made sure we were completely squared away with the move. My wife is almost 8 months pregnant so he was very sympathetic to that and made sure she wasn’t stressed at all during the move. His team didn’t stop all day! The three guys that were with him were careful with all of our possessions. It was also -5 degrees when we moved and there wasn’t one complaint all day regarding the weather. We hired a crew of 4 movers from Potomac Moving company to move my family from town-home to single family home. They have arrived promptly within specified time window, were very careful to write down all of our instructions and requests. They used rug runners to protect floors in both homes as well as blankets to protects entrance doors and frames. The crew took their time to carefully protect each piece of furniture in blankets, followed by tape with plastic wrap. They packed everything very well into 26' truck so no items were damaged in transit. In the new home they helped us to setup beds in bedrooms and ensured all furniture was placed in locations we specified. They even helped us to attach felt pads on all heavy pieces upstairs to make sure we could slide furniture later on hardwood without scratching the floors. Overall, we were very happy with their crew, they were reliable, courteous and careful during the entire move. The pricing was also very reasonable.
