I just moved in February 1st and I was satisfied with this company. Bill was great and explained everything to and didn't mind answering all my questions. The two men who helped me move were fast and careful with my belongings. They were both polite and respectful. I recommend their services to anyone.

I would never recommend this company to anyone. During the move they were very disorganized and careless. Many things were almost forgotten, a lot of dirt was trailed in, and one of the doorways was damaged. While unpacking, we noticed multiple things were damaged. After contacting the company about this, they never called me back to give me any updates. I had to be the one to keep calling them. After 2 months, I get a letter in the mail with a check for only $33! The letter even said I only got half price for the damages on the dresser due to preexisting damages when there weren't any preexisting damages. I also didn't get any reimbursement for a broken bookshelf door because it was pressed wood. I am extremely disappointed in my experience! Edit: Everything the owner said in response to my review is a lie! How can you do good business if you just lie when a customer received poor service?? He only stopped by within the first hour of them being there. He never inspected the damaged doorway because it happened towards the end and of course I painted over it, the new owners were moving in the next day, I couldn't leave it like that! I understand the purpose of the final walkthrough, but there should be no reason I have to follow behind because so many things were almost left. When an entire bathroom and closet were almost left, a TV, a mirror, curtains, and several other things. That's being disorganized and careless. As far as the door that was broken off the bookshelf, yes I had thrown it away then I found it in MY garage a couple days letter and emailed a picture of it to the owner. He did not have to go looking for it! As far as my daughter's dresses, this really makes me mad! It was an expensive dresser and in perfect condition prior to the move! A lie was obviously told to the insurance company so we would get less for it. There were multiple scratches on the dresser that was all from the move. Nothing was soiled or glued back on the dresser! There was a couple of white spots because the paint of the doorway got on to the dresser from where they hit it. I never said how much any of my stuff was worth. The insurance was based on how much it weighed. I got $30 back for a damaged dresser that was probably $400. To respond to my review and lie about every single thing shows what kind of company this really is! I highly regret my decision to ever use them for our move!

We hired this company after interviewing 3 other companies. We did a short haul move.The drivers were very nice, but did not do the job we would have expected since we tipped them well.We had a credit card that I used to pay for the move that ended up being compromised.I called the owner who said, " I have never had a driver take a customer's cc number before but I guess it could happen." Then our furniture was not put together properly etc... Didn't get what we bargained for...

The best mover I ever had at half the priced I had befor!! i had friends coming to help as I had a bad thing happen with the last company when I moved befor. Well my friends didnt show and I had to move out that day so I called Atlantic Beach Movers and they showed up happy and went right to work with in a couple of hours of my call. They did what I asked of them with no questions.As they told me "it is what I want nothing more nothing less," I really liked that!! They did a great job and yes I will use them again!! Folks - please stay away from these vandals! They destroyed almost half of the furniture including two expensive Infinity speakers and RUN AWAY without even leaving any paperwork! Bill, the owner, never picked up the phone. Never pay them in advance before they unload your stuff if you want to keep them responsible for what they do. They are unprofessional, rude, careless vandals! AND DO NOT READ POSITIVE REVIEWS FROM GOOGLE USER which I guess Bill writes himself. All the reviews from real people are negative.

Very bad experience with this company. I moved 100 yards within the same apartment complex and these guys broke the tapered glass on my hutch and the glass on a piece of artwork (marked "handlle with care"). They also chipped bookshelves and broke several pieces of dishes. I never received a copy of the moving agreement and when I e-mailed the owner to send me a copy in the mail, he never responded. Still no copy of the moving agreement. Think twice about hiring this company for your move.

Christopher and his team were amazing. I own a small moving company, Mountain Movers, out of Ithaca, New York, and my unload was carrying a baby grand piano that felt more like a grand piano. This one was particularly heavy (as if they aren't already heavy enough.) I had five guys help me load it in NY but only brought one of my guys with me. I called a few different companies in VB to help me unload and right away, from talking with Christopher, I knew he was the guy for the job. He accommodated us completely down to every last inconvenience. I had to keep pushing our ETA back all the way to eventually 9pm and him and his crew were right on time. They all had a positive attitude from beginning to end. They brought the right equipment that I asked them to bring and took the utmost care in unloading the baby grand and putting it together. They were all very strong, efficient, and thorough in what they do. You can tell these guys know what they are doing and in a class of their own when it comes to professional movers. The customers were with us the entire time watching us as we did the job and their customer service skills were top notch. I dont know what I would've done without them and if I am ever loading/unloading in the Virginia beach area again, I won't hesitate to call them again. Thanks again guys!

I had a very frustrating experience with Atlantic Beach Movers. I had a crosstown move totaling 4 miles from one apartment to another. They encouraged me to spend the extra money to have a third person on our moving team to ensure that the work got done in two hours. Unfortunately, only one person out of this team did any lifting or moving while the others hung out by the truck. Therefore the move took 4 hours and cost twice as much as they estimated. Given that only one person was doing anything it was not surprising that there was a lot of damage. One priceless heirloom got completely destroyed even though it was well packed and clearly marked "fragile". When we contacted Atlantic Beach movers they encouraged us to spend the time and money to take pictures of the damage and mail in an insurance claim. After three weeks had passed and we had received no answer, we called several times. Finally we got a letter in the mail stating that Atlantic Beach Movers did not have any legal obligation to pay us for the lamp because they had not packed the box. No accountability; no respect. These people are out to make the maximum dollar with as little effort as possible.

First off I must say Chris#1 I spoke to on the phone and he gave me an estimate without coming to the house and he was dead on!! He said about 2 hours it took 2 1/2!! I reached out to several companies at the same time and Chris was the first one to respond...This Company is great I will tell you if you are searching for movers stop here you will not get better. They were hundreds of dollars cheaper than their competitors. They gave me a start time of 9am they were here at 9am ready to work. They wrapped all my items which I really appreciated!! Chris#2 was really friendly and his team was fast, and very careful with my items!! The guys were great the process was smooth. They worked so hard to make sure they stayed in my budget they made me tired Lol!!! They made my life easier!! Thanks guys I will hit you when it's time to move again!! If I could give 10 stars you would have it!!

Excellent movers from the beginning till the end. This is the third time now I have used Atlantic Beach Movers and the guys once again impressed me with there experience. I read some of the reviews since I last used Atlantic Beach movers. The one guy does seem to like any body he ever used. So I went with my gut sense I used them 2 times before. I had no problems once again. I would highly recommend Atlantic Beach movers if anyone is looking for moving services. Great customer service all around once again!!! The 3 movers came to my mothers place and helped her with the utmost patience. They were very polite and helpful with gathering her belongings, without the dreaded feeling of things potentially going missing. I watched them load and offload their truck and take her things into her apartment at a senior community. For someone like my mother’s age, all she truly wanted was peace of mind that her items would be delievered at a fair price; and these guys were absolutely heplful. I truly recommend them for any moves.

My husband and I needed to move the assests of our business immediately on very short notice (24 hrs) and ABM was the only company that had the availability to do it. Bill was extremely accommodating and polite over the phone. The 4 men they sent were professional and polite. They were also exceptionally hard workers, and VERY efficient! I was amazed at how fast they were able to help us move so much stuff. With the help of ABM, we were able to execute this last minute move with peace of mind! I highly recommend Atlantic Beach Movers! We will be using them again if/when we need to move! We were very pleased with the moves they did for us. They looked over our belongings, and with no hesitation put them in the pod in an organized manner. Several months later, they removed them. This company is awesome. The movers was professional, fast, and did a terrific job. Moving is not my first rodeo especially living in a condo that has frequent leaks. They was by far the best moving company ever. I would highly recommend this company, and I will be using them again. Update: I called to use them again and this time everything is packed up and their prices went up by 100 dollars with less time and less items to move. I used them to move an entire apartment for much less. Now they have different owners and suck.

2 stars for the workers that do their best. Bill is a difficult person to work with. Their packing practices are moderate. Had many boxes crushed, plastic bins broken, mattresses wrapping opened. Update following the owners, Bill, response: I wrote my original review after contacting Bill. He ignored emails, and after some reminders he replied quite rude. The nice response here over the web, is not genuine.

The number 1 moving company hands down. Christopher and Christopher with there crew came with two trucks and 4 guys and beat all the prices in the VA area. The crew was professional and worked as team non-stop for 7-8 hrs.Everything was protected with no damage. Move from a 4 to a 5 bedroom. They disassembled and reassembled everything the way I wanted leaving no trash behind. Whole new house set up in less then 2 hrs. To add to the fact I just had knee surgery. They came on a last minute notice because it was going to rain on my move date. I ask could they move me on Valentine Day at 1 day notice and they fit me in. You're wasting time looking for other moving companies. This is the right choice. Thank you guys. This is my 1st choice for family for any moves now.

I include below emails I sent to them after the move that will let you know in full why it's a very bad idea to sign up with these movers. If I were you, I'd keep looking - or you will regret it like I did. Every single piece of my furniture was damaged, and the owner is stalling and finding excuses to not pay out the damages. When the owner - Bill - does a walk through before hand to give you a quote; he will seem like 'a nice guy.' But don't be fooled. He will say anything you want to hear to get your business - he's very good at that. Will overcharge you compared to other movers, and then all your stuff will be damaged - and he will not pay out damages. I have over $3k in damages that they are not covering - which means I got screwed. We will be taking legal action. As other reviewers noted - don't be fooled by the 5-star reviews. There are no way those could be real - this is the worst moving company in existence. The owner of the company probably got friends and family to post fake reviews. My email to them on 6/1/2018: Bill, I still not heard from you. The damages are beyond belief. Every single piece of furniture has been damaged. I have over 10 pieces damaged. I have pictures on everything. In the last 6 years of moves, I've never had such damage. And yet you charged me more than anyone ever had - which should have ensured a professional move. But it didn't because it's clear you simply don't care about making sure people get their furniture undamaged. It seems all you care about is overcharging people for a move - and you will say whatever it takes to get someone to sign up with your company - but it's all just words; their stuff will inevitably arrive damaged because you and your crew don't care about doing a good job; then disappearing when you're contacted about damages. NOTHING was wrapped properly - as agreed. NONE of my furniture was wrapped before they were loaded. They were loaded unwrapped - and some blankets simply thrown on them. And then moved off without any wrapping or protection. The truck was filthy. My furniture has black, thick dust on it that was not on it before it was loaded. Thus, you keep dirty trucks. Now I discover that they lost the middle leg of my bed - it's not there. This bed by itself costs $2k, and the middle leg is not there - which is supposed to hold the weight of the bed up. And I also found screws that popped off because that drunkard didn't put it together properly. Which means this bed is going to collapse. Not only that, they made scratches all over the place on the wood floor of the old place. I have pictures of all that. And I wake up to find a hole in the living room wall of my new place - that was not there before they moved the stuff in. I have pictures. -You send a drunkard as part of the crew - he was reeking of alcohol the whole day - as I mentioned in a previous email. -All the furniture was not wrapped BEFORE they were put on the truck - as I had asked. -I watched that drunkard supposed 'wrap' the furniture as they were put on the truck. And he didn't. He just threw blankets over them. Which did not protect the furniture. -That drunkard, as I mentioned in a previous email, kicked my wood furniture hard. When I told him not to, he had an attitude about it. He kept throwing my boxes hard on the ground; I had to ask him to not do that and be careful. It should be obvious - don't damage people's things! -The crew was complaining about you when you were not around. -You were complaining about the crew when they were not around. -The crew were arguing constantly - on the delivery end. -The crew clearly do not care about their work, and you are to blame. -The level of unprofessionalism is unparalleled. -The fact that every single piece my furniture was damaged despite assurances that everything would be protected My email to them on 6/3/2018: The pictures of the damages are attached. We had a bad experience with Atlantic Beach Movers. We were only moving 4 miles away in the same city and needed them to move the "big" stuff...including a baby grand piano. I chose this company because they said they had experience moving baby grands and cautioned me to use a company with this experience. The three men who showed up were good guys but had never moved a piano of any kind. The boss finally showed up to give some direction but they were obviously inexperienced piano movers and 2 were inexperienced at moving any furniture. The move took longer than expected pushing our day's schedule very much behind. What was done in 3.75 hours could have been done in 2 with experienced movers. Pay attention to the 1-2 star reviews for Atlantic Beach Movers.

Christopher and Christopher saved me today! I was moving my office location today and the original moving company I hired basically didn't finish my move in 4 hours (and we started in the morning!) Even though they said they would come back after a few hours, I couldn't wait as I had a meeting at 5pm plus they were slow and terrible. HOWEVER, Christopher and Christopher came to my rescue. They met me at my new office location, unloaded my truck, went back to the old location to finish up what the original company didn't finish and picked up an item from my colleague's place all with their truck! They WERE AMAZING! I wish I found them first!!!. If you need a move done right by professional people that are courteous, responsive and quick. These guys got it! Christopher kept saying to me, "We got your back." I felt assured and comforted after I was basically abandoned by the other moving company. I will use Christopher and Christopher again and again for all my moves! THANKS Christophers! You two are the absolute best! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY FOR ALL YOUR MOVES!!!! I am so grateful they got me out of the jam today! Thank you thank you thank you!

If i could give zero stars I would. Broken items, holes in the walls and no response from management. Horrible experience. I should have used Scott's Oceana moving. The reply to the initial review is false. NO ONE ASKED TO BE MOVED FOR 200.00. THE WORST EVER!!

ABM is a great company. Not only do they do a great job, they do it quickly and professionally. I know how a lot of moving companies do their work. The thing with ABM is that they do the same work as other movers, only A LOT FASTER. I was amazed by that. That created a smaller expense for my move. Another thing that is different about ABM is that they charge by the half hour instead of by the hour. The way movers work is that if your move goes into a new hour, even if just by 10 minutes, you get charged for the entire hour. I spoke to the owner of ABM about his half hour policy, and he told me that he used to charge by the hour. He changed his policy because he thought it unfair to charge customers an entire hour for 10 or 15 minutes extra. He told me that he just took his hourly price of $130 and split it in half in order to help save customers some money. When my move went 12 minutes into a new hour, I was charged $65 extra instead of $130. Thanks ABM! Especially since ABM is like the only moving company that uses a half hour policy. Their speed combined with this policy really saved me a lot of money!

~I just moved to Connecticut from Virginia Beach and I hired Atlantic Beach movers and had a wonderful experience! Christopher, the owner, personally came to assess the move ans was very competent and professional. ~On moving day they handled all the furniture with great care by covering and protecting it. They worked with great diligence and made sure that all the art work was well protected. Christopher assured me that they were going to take care of everything and I am happy that I trusted him and his team with my move. ~Upon arrival they unloaded the truck very efficiently and placed everything with great care and attention. Nothing got broken or scratched. I highly recommend this company!
