I have used this company 2 times already and about to use them again in June. Pricing is very straightforward and very competitive for small local moving services. Receptionist is helpful, courteous and responsive. I have had no wall or furniture damage from either of my moves, one of which was a difficult one up and down a 4th floor walk up. Furniture gets wrapped up and padded. Workers are very courteous, nice, and they follow directions. In both moves, workers took minimal breaks or usually took turns when they needed to. Never any issues with directions or navigation. Only thing negative I would say is there is no branding identifying the company workers and the truck that arrives is unmarked and has usually been a used Uhaul or Penske truck with the letters peeled off. I feel like with some branding, like with uniform polo/tee shirts possibly, the professionalism of the company would be elevated and match the quality of service that is amazing for the price.

I'm not sure why others disliked this company. The receptionist was very straight forward and no nonsense but not rude. The movers showed up on time and moved us from a 4 bedroom townhouse to a 6 bedroom house 30 minutes away. From start to finish they did it in 3.5 hours! I would highly recommend them!

One of the best moving companies. Not only are they cheap, but they are also great! I definitely recommend them to anyone moving in the northern Virginia area. Danilo, Alfredo, and Julian did amazing.

I had a great experience with American Moving Company. They moved my belongings from the ABF freight facility in Manassas (my belongings were in 2 pods that came up from Atlanta) to Alexandria, VA. The team was courteous, on time, careful with my things, and worked quickly. I would recommend this company.

I definitely recommend using this service! I recently moved from Lorton to Woodbridge with no troubles. Everything was moved without a scratch. If you are moving far, or not so far I would use there services. Everyone is also very polite and understanding. (:

I used American Moving company for the first time..and WOW!! The movers Julian, Javi, Fernando, and Ememias were just amazing. These guys were beyond my expectations. They were very courteous, clean, and most of all they new exactly what they were doing. They are truly experienced on how to move large items and not leave a single scratch!!! My wife and I couldn't be any happier!!! We didn't have to even say anything , we just watched these guys work with such professionalism. I highly recommend American Moving Company and these movers to come and make your moving experience a breeze!!! Worst Customer Service ever! I have never seen anything like her. I called and could barely get through the call because the lady who answered the phone was so rude, I suggest a major attitude check. You are not open for business before you have people who can help customers. Moving can be stressful, get people who are able to help customers. Horrible...which they had a zero star!

If I could give zero stars I would. I called and some to Tom to schedule a move. I told him if like to use their 5 guy/two 26 ft. truck special. He said I only have one 26 foot truck and one 16ft. Truck. So I asked if the price would be the same ($425 first two hours and $139 per hour after). So Tom says "Well I could've just told you we weren't available. You sound like the kind of customer I don't want to work with. Goodbye" and hung up on me. I guess the type of customers they don't want to work with are the ones smart enough to not want to pay for a service that was advertised but won't be received. Completely unprofessional. I'm glad I was able to see what they're about up front BEFORE the day of my move. I suggest you look elsewhere.

Do not even bother calling - Woman who answered the phone acted as if I was annoying her by even calling in. I asked for 2 guys and a truck and that I would be helping move boxes as well while they carried the big items. She sat in silence as if I had insulted her and then ended the conversation after I tried to get more information. Joke of a customer experience... cant imagine what the actual movers are like.

The customer service with this company is terrible! The team was pretty good making sure the furniture was where I wanted. However, they left certain things in the room and tried to explain about breakage. My 3 year old daughter's clothes? My luggage bags? Seriously? Then he doesn't even tell us he's going on lunch break. He just shows up an hour later and "randomly" no one at the office picks up my call at that time. Ok! When I called to give feedback since I was stuck making 3 more trips to go get the rest of my items, TOM told me to email them then hung up on me! This company is so ridiculous! You get what you pay for I suppose! Do not waste your time with this company..they only add to your stress level!

Everything was moved smoothly and timely, and I had them load up two different trucks; however, when we got to our destination and unpacked things, stuff was broken and scratched up. If they had been more careful with those items I would give 4 stars.

I would highly recommend this company to others. I have recently moved from Manassas to Woodbridge. To be honest I was worried about the concept of moving ,but with American Moving they took A tremendous amount of stress away.
