Used to be my go to cab service, until they took a school contract and you can't get a cab around the time the schools let out. What's worse, if you call on a Sunday, they don't answer the phone. I don't get it. Do they have more work than they need that they can just let the phone ring and ring and ring?

Waited an hour for a cab that was supposed to take 20 minutes. After 45 minutes they got tired of me asking where my cab was so they started screening my calls. Had to borrow a phone from a cafe to even get in touch with them. Please drive this company out of business. Get Uber

I find that some greencab customers find that they can never use greencab again. That's such a harsh and direct insult, it only sounds like the scope of greencabs service is farsly underrated. I wonder why more people do not comment on their superior service. MY RATINGS. 4 star. They are always on time, and when they are not on time, the dispatchers seam to be more than comprehensive with letting me know the problems that may have arisen. Superior Service greencab, keep up the good work!!

Green Cab is heart-breakingly bad. I called at 10 in the morning to reserve a 2:40pm pick to the Community Health Center, where they cancel appointments on you if you're even a few minutes late. My appointment was for 3:15. When 2:45 came, I called Green Cab back: "Where's my cab?" They said he should be there any minute. I called again at 2:55, and they said they'd send someone over. A driver finally showed at 3:08. I asked the cab driver why it happened that my reserved cab never came. He said, "I don't know! I just got dispatched to pick you up at 2:55pm." My appointment was cancelled, but I went to the Community Health Center in the Green Cab anyway to pick up some prescription refills they were holding for me. I called Green Cab as soon as I arrived at the Community Health Center for a return ride home. It was 3:30pm. I figured it could take up to 30 minutes to finish picking up my prescriptions from the nurses, who were busy. Just to be safe, I added 15 minutes on to my estimate (for a total of 45 minutes at the Health Center. I AGAIN RESERVED a Green Cab for 4:15pm for a ride home. I asked, "Should I be waiting right outside the Health Center, by the front lobby doors? Right in front of the building?" They said, "Totally. Yes. That's where we ALWAYS pick people up at the Center." When the 4:15 cab didn't show, I ended up making 4 more calls to Green Cab to try and find out where my driver was, and when he was coming. I kept getting, "Oh, he'll be there in a few minutes." Well, the cab did not show up until 4:45pm. Yes, it was 45 minutes late. It was bad enough missing an appointment that I had to reschedule for a MONTH ahead. It takes a MONTH to get appointments with my doctor. But then, to wait outside in the hot sun, looking and looking, calling and calling, to NO AVAIL, only to have the RESERVED cab show up 45 minutes late, despite Green Cab's PROMISES to make it up to me for causing my doctor's appointment to get cancelled, Not only THAT, the cab was waiting way down in the parking lot area on the side of the building, NOT in FRONT of the building as Green Cab and I had agreed. When I asked the driver why she did not look in front, she replied, "Oh, I always pick people up in the side parking lot near the parking garage." I said, "But Green Cab and I agreed that I should wait by the front entrance." She said, "Oh no. I never pick people up in front. In fact, I was just going to leave when I didn't see you in the parking lot." I asked, "Did you not think of maybe driving up to the top of the parking lot ramp and turn your head to the right to see if I was maybe in FRONT of the entrance to the Health Center?" She said, "No. We don't do that. If we don't see the pickup person, we leave. We're too busy to go looking around." I said, "It would have taken 15 seconds to look in the front of the building." "Sorry, ma'am. That's policy." I answered, "But Green Cab TOLD me to wait in the front of the building!" "Sorry, ma'am. I'll let them know." I realized that there was GREEN CAB was TOTALLY UNRELIABLE. I will never call them again. I advise you to LOOK ELSEWHERE for a cab in the Burlington area. I am going to check out Quick Cab, although their reviews on Yelp are mixed. GREEN CAB was a DISASTER!

on my way to my interview the driver was swell, we got distracted talking and went a little past. no big deal still a decent ride. however, the man driving pickle today showed impatience and was extremely risky with his driving. he didn't understand the mcdonalds drive through, he went past my turn in and cut infront a damn eighteen wheeler. instead of understanding the obvious about his crappy driving mind you i had to open the window because i get sick with fast/ jerkey stop and go's, he ran a red light and chose to say "oh i skipped that light" . offered a bit off or something like that if i paid in cash, which i didnt. i then told him in almost verbatim, " i dont care about the dollar or so, i care about safty" he didnt appologize, but said "thank you" idk all in all not cool and very dangerous

If I could give them 0 stars, I would. I tried to use their app on Easter of 2017 for a ride for my son in Swanton. The app told me to call in. I called in, and I was told that the fare would have to be prepaid since the distance was so far. I gave my payment information, and they charged me right away, unbeknownst to me. Then they told me it would take 90 minutes to get there. I cancelled the ride. I received my credit card statement and they charged me $107 for a ride that was never delivered! I tried calling their customer service to resolve it, but they couldn't find any record of the ride either, and said they were unable to help me, so I filed a chargeback. Well, suddenly, they had a receipt to provide my bank, and the chargeback was reversed. I'm outraged and will never use this company!

Your drivers clearly need better training. Today (Weds) 12/12 about noon - 12:10-12:15 - I was escorting an elderly blind woman back to my car after her appointment at the Community Health Center on Riverside Ave. in Burlington. I guided her along behind my car to move her back in. While shuffling along slowly she tapped her clearly visible red & white cane and temporarily blocked, 20-25 seconds your illegally parked Green Cab. after more than enough late cab arrivals in the past, i switched over to uber a while ago. in a real pinch I called green cab this morning. i waited outside the whole time, and when my driver first "arrives" i see his car cruise past the address, though at first i think this may be a different cab. but sure enough, a few minutes later i see his cab about to cruise past the address again the opposite direction. the only way it seemed he knew where to stop was seeing my confused and frustrated self now standing by the roadside. why was he not using GPS if he didn't know where he was going? i ended up jaywalking to meet my cab considerably down the street from the parking lot of where i had been. when i ultimately missed my connection, i called green cab to inform them of what happened. they told me it was my fault and that i should have called them earlier. from past experience, i know for a fact that calling earlier is NOT a viable solution given the number of customers, including me, who have called hours in advance just for their cab to be late anyway. i would give one star if i hadn't been trying to take a cab in a context where i suspected they would screw me over.

Well I'm currently sitting here and hour into my wait even though they said it would be 30-45 minutes. I called about about the 30 minute mark being reassured that they would be there "very shortly".....204am... 1hr and 2 min in.. Oh great just 1 hr and 6 min in and they arrive.... yeah great service.. and this isn't my first complaint only first posting of complaint!

I was moving this weekend and had to return my U-Haul truck. I called them at 1:40AM, explained my situation, and scheduled a ride for 2:30AM. No one showed at 2:30. I kept calling every 10 minutes to check on the status of my ride and kept being told someone was on their way. At 3:00 I called and dialed the prompts (I had them memorized by now) but it accidentally canceled my ride so I immediately spoke to a representative (the same one I had spoken with 4 times already asking where my ride was) who refused to help me further and told me no one would be picking me up. I begged this guy to please help me because it was 3AM and I was stranded at a gas station and he had no empathy and would not help me. I will never call them again.

Needed a ride from airport to mechanic where was personal vehicle was being worked on (5.3 mi) Uber was over $16. This is a set price. Called green cab and they quoted me “about $16”. Figured I’d keep my money local. Cab came quickly, driver was nice, but drove far too leisurely. Ended up being over $19. This was a kinda morning 10 am with minimal traffic. Definitely not peak hours. Seems like there should be set rates by distance for off peak, and then maybe by meter for busier times of day or year. Not sure I would use them again.

Requested a cab at 4:00 am to the airport. Guy said he could do 3:45 am. The driver called me at 3:40 said he was outside my house and rushed me. I came out saw no one. I tried to call the number he called me and it went straight to voice mail. Best experience ever!

Booked a cab to the airport as first experience with green cab. Booked the day before. After changing the time once to a later time they arrived late ultimately resulting in a missed flight. Called to see if they would do anything but they seemed unsympathetic. I guess I'll stick with the other color cab.

We were very happy with our service today! We rented a Loop van for our senior center's outing. We had 12 seniors and one child ride the van to and from our Center (our destination was about 30min each way). Both drivers were very nice, patient, and on time! The text message telling us when the van was headed our way was a very nice touch! We will call Green Cab again in the near future!

Called for a cab on Cherry St. and watched the cab driver drive to Burlington from South Burlington with the link they sent me. The cab pulled up to Bank St. waited thirty seconds and left without even trying to call me. This was a block away from where I told them I was. Do not recommend.

I usually use a local cab driver however on a day when my cab driver was unavailable I decided to use green cab. Unfortunately this was the worst experience with a cab driver since I've been using them. They were nice enough Tupac music app and even send me 8 X with a link of where they were going to be at a particular time. However even with all the perks, the cab driver was 10 minutes late and I was unable to express my dismay through the tip system. This tip system that green cab uses is unable to give you the choice of not giving a tip! By then it was already too late I was 15 minutes late for work. My car broke down the night before and I desperately needed a ride to work. Good thing there are other cab drivers in the area!

Ripped off! The dispatched demanded $140 prepaid for my trip. The cab that picked me up had his meter set at zero on pickup and the total on the meter (for my 11 mile trip) was less than $29!! I guess the rip off out of state customers.

This business started out great, when Kate (owner) came to my hotel to drop off her business cards she was polite and professional. The fist couple years were great, fast service, great response from dispatcher and knowledgeable drivers. Last few times they have been very disappointing. The drivers been late a few times, and the dispatcher had a not great attitude. Called them on 10/7/17 around 11:00 am just to get hang up on twice. It is unfortunate since there are not many taxi serviced around central Vermont, but I can't recommend a taxi service that is not reliable to my guest, guess we gonna have to wait til Uber or Lyft come around this area. -Alex

What a joke. I’ve had multiple issues with this company and they’re just totally unreliable. I’ve called and scheduled pick ups and they show up 15-20 minutes late, other times 10 minutes early. Earlier this year I left my wallet behind in a cab. After multiple months and phone calls I finally got a message that they had my cards. So I stopped by the office to pick it up, someone in their office was nice enough to take my designer wallet and cash but tape my cards together and leave them in the office drawer. Most recently though I scheduled a pickup through their app several hours before needing the ride. I received a confirmation text and thought everything was fine. I even got the “your driver is on its way” text. Then after 10 minutes after the set time I called to check in- the dispatcher said he had no record of my reservation. When I told him I did it through the app and his first words are “never trust the app it doesn’t work”....THEN WHY DOES IT EXIST. Their only resolution was to get me a over an hour after the second phone call I had to make. They just treat their customers poorly and take no responsibility. I’ve avoided this cab service for months, but gave them the benefit of the doubt this time and once again they failed.

My cab driver, Kaz, was incredible. Without going into too much detail, the reason I called a cab was because a very last-minute, frustrating event had occurred, and I had to get across town quickly. He was fantastic -- read the atmosphere very well, arrived exactly when the tracker said he would, and best of all, knew exactly how to get me where I was going without hitting ANY traffic, even though I'd called in the middle of rush hour. I've had previous negative experiences with Green Cab several years ago, but if every driver is like Kaz, I'll definitely be using Green Cab more often going forward. Thanks, Kaz!

Twice this week I booked them in the afternoon for a 9:30 pm ride. First time they called me at 9:45 pm to say they didn’t have a driver. The second time booked for 9:15 pm. (Again i booked it early afternoon) Just before 9:00 I get a text that it would be a 2 hour wait. I called to complain and was told they only have one night driver and this is the way their scheduling works. Clearly can’t depend on them. Wont use them again.

I was very happy with the service provided by Green Cab in VT. They even have technologically advanced features like GPS tracking of your cab and SMS text messages to keep you informed on your cab. No app download/signing up necessary. The estimated wait time was accurate. When I was getting dropped off, the driver quickly rushed to get my luggage from the trunk. He was also very friendly throughout the entire interaction. We also had some good conversation during the drive. Cheers!

Horrible service. Driver showed up, his name was Wendell and he started calling my girl's phone. When she said she was headed right down he just sat in the parking lot and started beeping his horn. So then after they started going he refused to bring her the way she asked and said that he was going to get the full amount because she ruined his day. Have used Green Cab probably a half-dozen times in the last 6 months, mostly for rides between the airport and Burlington/South Burlington. I hesitated to use them because of poor reviews here, but have been pleased every time. Friendly drivers. Always a few minutes early, good communication from dispatchers, and I really like the stream of text messages they send you -- most recently I stepped out of the airport doors when I got the text saying "we're just about there" and sure enough the cab was coming around the corner as I got to the curb. Most of my rides are early morning, one or two were in the late evening (10pm or so).

For the love of God can you please go back to having an actual human at the other end of the line instead of a machine? It constantly gets the addresses wrong. Additionally I have seen other reviewers comment on Freeman giving drastically incorrect ETAs and I can confirm that this is true.

Up front pricing was told 47 dollars. It was a tad bit more expensive. I had to reschedule them twice on my end due to spending more time at the wedding. Office staff was great but the guy that showed up was sketchy and complete being honest was straight up creepy. Glad I wasn’t a female. Literally picked up in the middle of no where because it’s at a ski resort at 1 am and the guy didn’t say much. Didn’t introduce himself, and the heat didn’t work in back. If you can get a uber, it is cheaper but lemme say every time I’ve road with uber they are always talkative and willing to give you some information if you’re not from around here.

Well, I just got out of a Green Cab and was very pleased with the entire event. The driver showed up on time, was very nice, polite beyond the norm and I would use this company again, should the need arise. I guess many cab companies have problems being on time and hiring just the right folks to drive for them. I would not hesitate to use Green Cab again.

This service sucks you cant even get into there app because the app doesn't work, I've tried for three days to get an activation code and never got one and then when i finally did, it said it wasn't the right code! the app is the only way you can pay, trying to make a reservation and the only payment option they give is in car, it doesn't let you pay ahead of time and the only way you can pay in the car is with the app!!. the entire website is not professional if i could id give zero stars. do not recommend.

Incompetence beyond belief. I normally don't leave reviews, but after the 3rd on-call no-show, I've decided to. I travel so often that I have a system in place, and the last component requires putting the trust in another companies hand. 24hr advanced reservation, and come the day morning, they've done it once again. It amazes me that people still doubt that uber will run cab services out of business. When you can't operate a business effectively, even after your main competition goes under, you stand no chance. Here's to hoping hippie cab goes under too! Fingers crossed x

A bunch of CROOKS!..i had a cc# on file for a family member to use regularly this week... however, i would not do this again in the future because the drivers can punch in whatever kind of tip they want if the card is automatically charged (the drivers were tacking on a $5 tip onto a $13 ride I found out! Plus $ if they had to "wait")...that seems excessive..the drivers also have an annoying habit of calling you multiple times if you're not outside waiting RIGHT when they pull in...I prefer Dunwright cab but they don't have that many cars so aren't as available.

I use green cab ever day for the past month and they were good at first then they would text or call me a few minutes b4 I need to be picked up saying they don’t have a driver or they will be late . And last week I got a driver that has an attitude Becky he has to pick me up and he changed me extra and I’m top of that he was driving so crazy . I enjoy during them but they need to step up theirs game and stop being late or at least let people know at least 30 min ahead .

We booked a cab through Green Cab one week in advance to make sure we'd be on time to an event. The night of our cab ended up being 35 minutes late, and I was lied to twice on the phone to the cab operator when I called to inquire where our cab was. I was told it was "just around the corner" both times when in fact it was 25 and 15 minutes away, respectively. Once we actually got the cab our driver proceeded to deliver a racist, political monologue that was incredibly uncomfortable to sit through and lasted throughout the ride. Our driver also drove way over the speed limit, presumably because they were running late that evening. I would absolutely never use this company again, although the ride does make for a good story.

Green Cab is the best taxi and shuttle service fleet in the state of Vermont And when I say this, I've been to most parts of the state like Rutland, Bennington, Brattleboro, Montpelier or even St Jo's nothing like Green Cab around the state, they're open 24/7 so you can schedule a ride up to 2weeks in advance or even call as close as few hours ahead and their trained Professional Dispatchers will reserve your ride right away, and best of all while paying your driver on the spot is crucial to most, they also accept most major CC's on the phone so you don't have to hustle later which I call it, the VIP style "Worry Free" later! I would recommend these guys to anyone.

The will call driver ( the return ride) arrived very quickly following my call. I felt safe, the cars were clean and again both drivers were very friendly and engaged in conversation! I use Green Cab whenever I need a cab in Burlington. Very reliable, clean cars, and friendly (but not overbearing) drivers. I generally schedule a ride ahead of time if I need one during a busy time (like going to the airport in the morning), but even when I've needed a cab immediately I've never had to wait very long.

Nice driver, but THANK GOODNESS we booked the cab earlier since they were 45 min late. We had a 10 am train, the ONLY train for the whole day, and it tooks 35 min to get to the station. Thankfully we booked the cab for 8 instead of 9 since the car didn't show up til 8:45. Without Uber or Lyft, they are the only game in town, but DO NOT trust them to get to you on time. Plan ahead!

The drivers are consistently late almost to the point I would have rather hitchhiked in the back of a bumpy pickup truck, but at least all the drivers are really personable and friendly once they do show up. Not sure if it's drivers or dispatchers that take forever but Burlington seriously needs to learn how to cab.

While the drivers are nice enough, almost every time I book a ride there's a problem. If I schedule an immediate ride, they don't have enough drivers to accomodate and I'm stuck waiting an hour for a cab. If I book it hours ahead of time, the driver manages to show up 20 minutes late anyways. Usually the operators are nice enough when you call, but recently they've been extremely rude, telling me to walk an hour home in the freezing rain at night and even insisting I call another company (which I now do, since every other local cab service seems to be better). When I made a complaint to an operator, he canceled my ride even though I still needed to get home. All-in-all, you will be more satisfied walking home than dealing with this company.

Horrible service. They are never on time, and they always lie about pick up arrivals. My fiance called and set up a pickup for 4:40, and it is now almost 5 and when she called they said that they were running late and there was nothing they could do. Well, they shouldn't promise to be on time if they cant.. one time, they told her they'd be there in 20 minutes when she was getting out of work at the U Mall, and they never showed up. Surprised by the reviews. I've used Green Cab VT numerous times over the past few years and they were always on time or several minutes early. They were all trips to the airport that were scheduled ahead of time so I can't speak about on-request appointments but they have been great for us!
