Moving is hard. There's nothing great about a move. Black Tie is not the cheapest service, but I think it's one of those things where you get what you pay for. Black Tie really tried to take away the pain of moving. Nothing ever goes perfectly in a move, either... the real sign of professionalism is owning mistakes and making it right. They scratched some of our furniture (minor) and broke a piece of our fridge. I was *shocked* how fast they had a furniture repair guy come out and make it look better than original... I mean... perfection. I also got help resolving the issue with fridge through a super smooth, easy, and fast process. I will also be using them in a couple of months to move my office. I haven't had that same experience with less expensive movers - I think that's where the cost and time savings come in.

Today Anthony, Isabel, and Mike moved us from our apartment to our home in flash flood conditions. As soon as they arrived they started running! They quickly assessed all to be moved and then got to work with our 3 bedroom lightly furnished apartment. Despite the terrible conditions they were prepared, upbeat, and quickly got the job done (in 2.5 hours total for a 2 mile drive to our new 2 story home and unloading). I hope we don’t have to move anytime soon, but if we did I wouldn’t hesitate using your services again and highly recommend y’all!

Steven, Don, and Enrique were objectively the best. On-time, courteous, helpful, and helpful. They even laughed with each other throughout the day - it's almost like they enjoyed their job. Maybe a bit more than the discount guys, but you owe it to yourself to let them take care of you on moving day. 10/10 would use again.

Horrible moving company. The driver demanded a huge tip. The driver said that if the tip should included hidden charges. They damaged a desk , sofa and formal dining table. Bought the upgraded insurance coverage but now the will not honor it. The moving team was slow (run up the bill). I had to help so they would work a little faster. The company does not stand behind what they sell - a service. What for the tricks. This company electronic system of signing for stuff does not work. This signing for the move after the driver is telling that he needs a big tip or he will charge for moving supplies and other stuff is horrible. You sign what is there just to get rid of the movers.

This company is a scam, I am in shock to all the positive reviews compared to the service I received. First, my 65" TV is broken as well as my PS4 Pro as the movers did not bring packing materials (Which I requested up to and including 2 weeks prior to the move). I'm missing a huge list of items, I had to call them back TWICE to grab stuff they missed, customer service (who has me on 4 separate recording saying I need an assisted move because I'm a disabled vet) is not only horrible but does not actually communicate what you need with dispatch. What has previously been a 2-4 hour ordeal was now an 10 hour move to which they want to charge me $120 an hour, now 4 days later I am still waiting for a call back from customer service to discuss why they sent 2 exhausted movers to move my stuff at 4:30pm finishing at 2am the next day. This included them having to drive to Lowes to buy tools they left at the last job site which they needed for my washer and dryer, countless breaks to talk to their girlfriends, going the long way around to my new home which I arrived 30 minutes before they did (going the speed limit). The list continues, if they charge me anything at all I'm contacting a lawyer, this is beyond ridiculous!

The greatest experience ever! Michael and Sterling were my movers, they showed up on time and ready to go! They were very professional and greeted me with a handshake as well as my dog. They were also very patient with my dog, as she was running around anxious. Sterling was very friendly with her and tried to make her feel comfortable with him. They took care of all my furniture, wrapped it up and made sure it was padded. Very fast and efficient. I have no complaints. Nothing was broken or damaged.

They arrived late but explained they were dispatched to another job and said they'd be ready to go when they arrived. They moved FAST. But careful. Great upfront. Sell you on the whole 9 yards. When it came down to it, the movers took a very long time and I contracted for 4 movers and only 3 showed up. Of course I cant tell them to leave b/c I have everything scheduled based off of this move date. When I called the manager to talk about it, she said "The movers worked hard and this is how they get paid, do you not want them to get paid". Of course she had no idea I tipped them very well, despite them taking too long. Pretty bad customer service, BUT they did not break anything, and I am thankful for that!

We moved from one 2600-sq. ft. home to another about 30 minutes away. They sent four guys for the move with two trucks, which was definitely needed for the job. They charge by the hour and I thought the move went really fast with all the available manpower, so I think that made up for the cost. The guys were great to work with and accommodating, especially with us having a little boy and twin babies crawling around. I recommend them wholeheartedly. Shout out to Enrique, Mike, Jorge, and Jeff, our four movers!

This move was amazing! I have used movers before that were very slow and damaged my furniture but this company was very quick and efficient. They wrapped all my furniture and glass before moving it into the truck. Both movers were very friendly and pleasant to deal with. I was relocating from Dallas to Austin for work and needed movers short notice. Black tie was amazing through out the entire process, I was given a flat rate quote and that is exactly what I paid. No hidden costs or surprise charges at the end. The two man crew that came to help with the move was incredibly friendly and professional. They loaded and unloaded everything extremely quickly, and through out the move I had someone from the concierge team checking in by text to make sure everything was going well. Used Black Tie this weekend to move from a storage unit to our new home. Gabriel, Jon and Alan showed up promptly when scheduled. When I had originally loaded the storage unit, it had taken 2 trips with a 26ft truck. These guys were able to get everything into their truck, for only one load. This alone saved me a couple hundred dollars. They were also meticulous about wrapping and protecting all of the furniture. Everything arrived and was offloaded without a single scratch. Also helped set up furniture and even moved things around to make the wife happy with the locations. Total move took just over 5 hours. Way less time than what it would have taken to do it with friends. Really was the best money ever spent on moving. I would highly recommend all three of these guys and Black Tie Moving in general.

I was quoted for a two man, but they gave me a third for no extra charge. They definitely lived up to their reputation. My move has never been easier even with other moving companies. I never worried about my things being mishandled or stolen— I’ve had issues in the past but these young men made me feel at ease and safe. These guys are great! They were professional, respectful and cautious with my belongings. They originally brought two trucks, but then realized only one was needed. So, rather than loading my belongings onto two trucks, they saved me money by using one! They loaded, transported the items between Dallas and Austin, and unloaded everything to where they needed in one day - couldn't be happier with Black Tie's service!!

The moving process itself was great! However, the customer service after hasn't been great. I told them a box was missing of sentimental items and I asked just to be notified if they had it or not. I did not even ask for money in return since the items are pictures/etc, just the courtesy of being reached back out to. I wasn't going to give a bad review, but they keep sending me emails to review them and haven't gotten back to me about the lost item.

John and Terry the wonderful movers were great but there is no communication from when you call to schedule the move. My advise is make sure they understand that if you requested wardrobe boxes make sure they are on the truck. If you need extra boxes they will tell you that they have it covered but they do not. Unfortunately used them the other day and was TOTALLY disappointed with the office people because I felt I was a bother and they could care a less about what I scheduled for and what we requested before the move. I do hope the office staff can learn how to communicate to the drivers slash movers. It makes me sad to say I will be using a different moving group in the upcoming future.

Awesome move! Awesome crew! My family and I had to move a storage unit in Glenn heights to midlothian. They sent a 3 man crew who were right on time. They were very quick and very careful. Once they got to the house they did a walk through asking where everything went and got right to work. All 3 were incredibly nice and professional. We accidentally told them the wrong places a couple times and they were very happy to fix it for us with no complaints. They were very slow and steady going through the door frames. They were very careful with our hard wood floors. I definitely recommend! They are a bit on the pricey side but are worth every penny!

I used Black Tie for was greatness! 2/28/18 the guys were on point! Moved me from a 1st floor apartment to a 2nd floor apartment in 5 hours flat. The guys never stopped moving! They told me they were going to take a 15 minute break, totally respectful and hard workers. I couldn't believe how organized they delivered my boxes and furniture. It was almost as if I didn't have anything to do. They set up my couch, my table and chairs, my bed and nightstands, my boxes were all neatly lined and stacked, like OCD perfection. Only $534.00 and I tipped each guy $75.00. I loved these guys so much I referred a friend of mine a few weeks ago and my friend said they were amazing as well!

How often does your total $$ amount owed at the end of a move end up being less than was quoted? For me, this was the first time ever! Mario, Terry and Francisco arrived on time to load my house belongings into their truck for my move to a storages unit. They were polite, respectful and took such good care of my furniture. The move took less than 3 hours and that includes unloading into the storage unit. It was the most well organized unit it I have ever seen! I will definitely use them again when I find my new place. Very happy!

You could call me a nomad - I have moved a lot in the past! My experience with movers hasn’t always been great, but I’m definitely not exaggerating when I say that this moving experience was hands down the BEST!! A two guy team moved me from a 3 story condo to a 2 story townhouse - all in 4 hours. Lied to by management, appliances damaged and overcharged. Booked with Black tie because they claim to offer superior service, wrapping up all your items and railings and protecting the carpet. They sent me 2 inexperienced kids who took 90 minutes longer than my estimated time even though they didn’t have to move any of my living room or dining room furniture. They overcharged me “by mistake” and I had to argue with management to get him to see that I was charged twice and reverse the charges. That wouldn’t be so bad if they actually did good job. They didn’t wrap up anything or cover the carpet in my new construction home so they dinged up the paint on the stairs. They moved my front loading washing machine without the drum stabilizers causing damage to the washing machine. Plus they ripped the dryer vent off the wall and damaged it beyond repair. When I informed management, he agreed to send someone out to fix it the very next day. However, no one came so I ended up buying a new hose myself and paying someone to attach it for me. To top it all off they left tan tape all over my washing machine and dryer that just looks unsightly. It’s going to take me forever to peel it all off. So if you’re looking to pay extra money for inexperienced movers who damage your items and lie to you about fixing them and be overcharged, black tie is a perfect waste of money.

LISTEN TO ME! AVOID THIS PLACE! A one star review is really over compensation for a zero star service. From them showing up late, causing over a $1000 in damage, taking two 30 minutes breaks to zone out in our bathroom, tearing/scraping/ripping a brand new leather couch, breaking a shelf, damaging the walls, poor customer service when we tried to file a claim, it doesn't get any worse. Yes, we bought the extra insurance which was worthless. It didn't even cover 10% of the damage done. You can literally get better movers from the parking lot of a Manpower employment service. Don't make the same mistake I did by reading other reviews here or listening to some other advice, this place is a wretched disgrace!

The actual move went well. The movers were nice and professional. My issue came down to billing. I received a quote of an hourly rate and service charge of $99 when I scheduled my move date. The sales person told me he would waive the cc fee. At the completion of my move there was a fuel surcharge fee of $43. My previous location is only 20 mins away. There was NO mention of this when I booked my reservation, and I made sure to ask the sales person about any additional fees as I was on a budget for the move. I informed the movers that I was told the credit card fee would be waived and they indicated it in the invoice that I signed. However, I received an updated invoice today with the service charge. How dare they charge my card without my permission, nor indicate this with a phone call. I tried to call in but received someone that was only concerned with making sales and not helping someone who’s money they already had. She told me the person I needed to speak to was out of the office and I could try calling back tomorrow. She couldn’t be bothered with passing that information along. Movers were awesome, billing and customer service is AWFUL!!!!

Black tie moving was great they came on time at the interval that they said. I got a call 30 mins before and then they were at my door. They moved pretty quickly but took their time being extra precautious with all my furniture wrapping it with pads and the plastic wrap to ensure there wouldn’t be any scratches. Once we got to my new apartment there was a small hiccup with where they could park their van as other residents were moving in at the same time but they waited patiently and worked with me to solve the issue. They were able to fit all my stuff into a really small storage unit as well. The move took about 4 hours and I was satisfied with the whole process. I used their yelp coupon as well to save $50 which was awesome! I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

I was looking for a mover to move a refrigerator from Richardson to Fort Worth and they did an amazing job. We were concerned about moving it ourselves because of the size and expense of the one we purchased. They communicated in advance of the pick-up and showed up on time. The two gentlemen who moved the fridge were well prepared, took off the handles before moving it, prepped it well and delivered to our home including putting the handles back on. I can't say enough positive things about our experience, we would certainly hire them again.

The care in protecting and handling was impeccable and not once did I hear a piece of furniture scratch or rub up against a wall or door - and that includes moving furniture down two flights of stairs. They SAVED OUR BUTTS! We had hired All My Sons to move us on the LAST day of our lease, but the movers showed up, said there were a lot of boxes, claimed it would take them 12 hours AND FREAKING LEFT! They decided to cancel our move WITHOUT TELLING US! Black Tie was able to come on VERY short notice and the move took 3.5 hours. The guys were SUPER nice! The man in charge told his guys they were doing a good job and one of them even stopped a second to help a neighbor of ours climb 2 flights of stairs with grocery bags and a stroller! They are AWESOME and we'll never use another company! BLACK TIE ALL THE WAY!

First, my 65" TV is broken as well as my PS4 Pro as the movers did not bring packing materials (Which I requested up to and including 2 weeks prior to the move). I'm missing a huge list of items, I had to call them back TWICE to grab stuff they missed, customer service (who has me on 4 separate recording saying I need an assisted move because I'm a disabled vet) is not only horrible but does not actually communicate what you need with dispatch. What has previously been a 2-4 hour ordeal was now an 10 hour move to which they want to charge me $120 an hour, now 4 days later I am still waiting for a call back from customer service to discuss why they sent 2 exhausted movers to move my stuff at 4:30pm finishing at 2am the next day. This included them having to drive to Lowes to buy tools they left at the last job site which they needed for my washer and dryer, countless breaks to talk to their girlfriends, going the long way around to my new home which I arrived 30 minutes before they did (going the speed limit). The list continues, if they charge me anything at all I'm contacting a lawyer, this is beyond ridiculous!

From the first phone call to the last box off the truck, the pros at Black Tie made my move from Frisco, TX to Burkburnett, TX the best possible experience a move can be. Having lost my husband Nov last year, I really was at the mercy of research online to find the right moving company. I got very lucky to find Black Tie. They packed my 2 bedroom apartment in less than one day, loaded it all up the next day, drove 2 1/2 hours north, and unloaded everything before 2 pm that afternoon. Every request I made, such as leaving a bed for me to sleep on between packing and loading, to “pack the coffee pot and coffee separately”, was met with kindness and understanding. The company concierge worked my utilities and TV issues, and generally helped with the small but critical details. All the guys cleaned up after themselves and I never felt nervous or worried, (being an older woman on her own). Trustworthy, honest, and clean cut workers. Amazing move. Can’t say thank you enough!! If anyone wants more specific details, contact Black Tie and ask them about the Burkburnett move. I authorize them to release my cell number so you can contact me personally.

The move was fine the problem is their customer service which is located in Nashville I'm in Dallas they quote me $600 and the move cost $800, I ask for a quote for 5 hours and the send me and estimate of 5 hours but the price was for 4 hours and they didn't tell me any about 100 dollar's for a 80 inch tv box that they never had on the day of move, luckily my 80 inch tv didn't get damaged and I can get just as good movers for half the price, I will never ever use black tie again because they customer service will tell you anything to get the sale.

Recently hired Black Tie Moving in August 2019 for a cross-town move. This was my second time using BTM and I would not hesitate to use them again. They arrived early, started working immediately, and did not stop until the move was completed. They worked quickly and took steps to protect my furniture in the rain. In addition, they put down moving mats to protect the hardwood flooring in both my old residence and new residence. I am deeply appreciative of their concern for my properties and things. From my initial call to consider using them, to the final handshake after they completed our move, the entire team at Black Tie was courteous, thorough, and punctual. In addition, we received ongoing updates and a personal contact person the day of our move had any questions arose. Finally, the team of Itmar and Mike did a wonderful job of loading all of our belongings and carefully transporting them to our new home and bringing them up via quite a few elevator rides. This was the most positive, and best value, moving experience we've had in 42 years of home ownership. We'll definitely be repeat customers should another move come up for us.

I hired Black Tie Moving company based on the recommendation of my realtor. I hired a 4 man crew as I know my furniture is heavy. The crew showed up as 3 man but discounted my rate to the 3 man rate. The crew damaged my sleep number bed as obviously they didn't have the experience necessary to dismantle and move it as I had been assured. When we arrived at the new residence, they forgot the air generator needed to fill the air mattresses, how convenient as they damaged the outer shell anyway....perhaps they "forgot" the generator so I wouldn't bust them on the spot for the damage. The crew also accepted side work from a family member of mine for cash using the moving co truck. integrity. Now, the company is offering me a $54 check to cover the damaged shell that costs $1,100 but I asked for $808 as my late husband and I purchased the manufacturer warranty. Not cashing the check and have an attorney looking into it. I accepted the .60 transport insurance based on being told the movers were experienced with all beds. I STRONGLY recommend against hiring this company!

I think with any moving company, you run the risk of poor movers and poor ancillary staff. My move was in June and Black Tie sent 3 movers. I initially thought everything was professionally done until I realized that one of the movers ended up stealing several of my items. I was upset that my belongings were stolen, but the real frustration came afterwards when dealing with the moving company itself. Getting any information on the claims process has been impossible as despite several emails, calls and texts to the claims personnel (Katie) in the Dallas location, nothing was returned back. It wasn't until I called corporate and somehow got the president involved that any real direction was provided to me a week later. At this point, I was given a run around on who from Black Tie was responsible for what - I'm told by the operation's manager that Katie (claims specialist) is the one who will be handling this, then I'm told from the claims specialist that the operation's manger is handling it and back and forth. Even still, as I have fulfilled my end of the claims process, the Dallas location has reverted back to not responding to my claims question and I'm still not sure who is supposed to be handling my claim. Black Tie is a national company and as my experience is limited to the Dallas location, I can only highly discourage people from using the Dallas location as their movers. I would keep a close eye on the movers as there isn't any true guarantee that nothing will happen to your belongings. The stolen items certainly caused some emotional distress in knowing someone rummaged through your stuff but this can be replaced. The real frustration though lies in the lack of professionalism and communication with the managers and claims employees in the company.

Their coaching on issues with the washing machine and dryer was very helpful. We marveled at their diligence and professionalism given that they had already done one move earlier that day. If only we had that strength and stamina! :) Black Tie Moving is not the most expensive. They are not the cheapest, either, but in the end, we felt we made as good of a choice as we could have made.

Worst move experience in years. The movers attitude grew worse as the day wore on. I was assured that everything was out of my old unit and in the new unit. I asked twice, everything including the hall closet, the bedroom closets, etc. and was told there was absolutely nothing left in the old unit. Absolute lie. I will spend more than hour moving everything the movers left. To top it off they lied about the final cost. I was told $952 and asked to sign on the iPhone, which I did, then was notified by my credit card company that I was charged $991. In my experience you cannot trust Black Tie.

One of the movers took a coke out of my fridge without asking. They doubled their tip without my consent and the credit card fee was added until after the service was over.
