I would give -0 if I could worst Military move in 26 years being in the service. I was told lie after lie with this woman Michiala Nebrich worst customer service ever she comstantly tries to mamipulate the situation . They scratched up my daughters piano and refuse to pay for repair saying there old scratches I think we would know if this were true. She never calls you back after telling you countless times she will, never returns emails. Just horrible company the government contracted to move our stuff. Stay away if you want your furniture in good comdition or dont wanna be lied to. They broke other stuff as well and refuse to own up to their mistakes.

Donald and Michael helped move a dining set that is a family heirloom from my grandmother’s home in Greenville to my parents’ house in Charleston. Even in horrible weather, it arrived unscathed and safely. Good service and great people, especially their employee Matthew who was so helpful with temporary storage.

**Update** Drivers arrived and wasn't aware that they had to put together the furniture at 830. I felt extremely bad for them and having almost a 2 hour drive home. They had everything together quickly. They didn't take the boxes, but it was late so I didn't complain. I'll update my review once my furniture is delivered, but not impressed with the lack of communication. Provided with a 2 hour window, I've made 3 calls and contacted Ryder which is handling my shipment. Was told there are no delays, but still no call nor anyone here delivering my furniture being after the window time. Leaving out of state so they will have to hold it for a few weeks considering they missed delivery. I work in transportation and would never leave a Customer "Not Knowing". Poor service by any means at this point.

Movers were great, however a confusion between contractor and company caused an entire day delay on shipping all of my house out across country which is going to cause a bit of a headache but overall very quick, very polite and professional staff.

Be Warned, I'm a Navy Veteran and a 38 year long haul driver for the van line. They had a bad issue with this warehouse leaking and horrible humidity at this facility. We found what looked like black mold all over the peoples belongings. And the damage to the my customers stuff after it was in storage was unbelievable, trashed, destroyed! My company used this wannabe mover for destination and origin services when they had to. They could not give the level of service we gave to our customers. Mostly they could not perform up to our standards. They also forged my name on delivery documents that resulted in a huge claim against us. Smart people at the van line figured out they lied and forged my name, they denied the claim! This business is one of the worst moving companies I've ever been associated with. Just dont! These guys moved my mom’s stuff. She has a lot of nice furniture and they did a good job not scratching it up and the delivery crew to the new house was really professional. The driver was a cool dude. I couldn’t believe how fast they moved. I recommend them.

I've been waiting for my mattress delivery for five hours and still no sign of anyone. The company gave me a two hour window for someone to show up. After that window was up, I called the company. Allison told me they were running 45 minutes late. Two and a half hours later, I called again, and she said it would be another hour. This seems like a very disorganized company with no metrics of how long certain deliveries take.

Absolute WORST company I have ever had to deal with. I purchased an item from Wayfair that was to be delivered through this company. First delivery attempt I was told (after calling them, because they were 2 hours past the delivery window) that they left the item on the shipping dock! Unbelievable! But it gets worse. Second/Third delivery attempt, I receive a frantic call from the Manager. He states that the item is somehow missing, and that it may have never reached their warehouse. So why make three attempts to deliver an item that you DO NOT HAVE? That required unnecessary time off from work, and hours taken off my life. I would NEVER suggest this organization. I have filed complaints with Wayfair to petition that they no longer extend distribution contracts to this clown farm.

DO NOT USE! Awful service. Movers damaged house upon move out, damaged goods en route, unknowingly left nearly half of our things behind, never responded to damage claims. We moved out of Beaufort, SC in June 2017. Reads Movers dented walls and scratched doors during move out. They also drove their moving truck onto our cement driveway and shattered it, and then drove off the driveway and crushed a water meter cover. They promised a check for $231 to pay for damage, but it took nearly two months for them to actually send it to us. They implied they would pay for our damaged driveway, and said they would send out their own contractor to estimate repair after we submitted a $1800 quote, and to date they have not done so nor have paid us. Additionally, despite having sent out an estimator to evaluate the space and packing needs, they ran out of space in the truck and told us (on a Friday) that they'd come back on Monday to get the rest. After being informed that wasn't possible because we needed to vacate the house, they sent another truck several hours later. We were assured they would take it to the warehouse and reloaded onto a bigger truck. They didn't - they just forgot about the second truck. They delivered literally as late as possible on the last allowed date for delivery per their military contract. As they pulled up, I saw my son's beloved indoor play kitchen lashed to the back of the moving truck. Pieces were missing, it was soaking wet and dirty from driving on a rainy day. The lead mover took a nap in his car (we have photos of this) because they told us openly that they had driven overnight and that he kept drifting off to sleep while behind the wheel, also saying that they intended to drive back home after delivery. They had left my son's crib partially assembled and the wood was broken because of it. They did over $2000 worth of damage to our things by carelessness. Additionally, it was only once the truck was nearly unpacked that they realized they had left nearly 1/3 of our things back in South Carolina. They delivered the rest of our things four days later. After begrudgingly sending us the check for $231 to repair the damages to our house, Reads and its parent company Charter Transportation stopped responding to our attempts to contact about the remaining damage. They have not responded within 30 days to our claim on the military transportation site and we will now be transferring that claim to the military claims office.

Truly some of the worst customer support that I had to deal with. Being in the military, full relocations have become a part of the job. Many of my moves in the past have been delayed due to high traffic and other unfortunate circumstances but never before have I had to deal with a staff which seemed to care so little about my move. This move was small, only the items of a one bedroom apartment ( ~2200lbs), and was from SC to NY. The scheduled delivery date was 13 days after the pickup and I was told that it should be no problem. After not hearing from the company for that entire time, I decided to call the day before the estimated delivery date. After several phone calls and unanswered messages, I was finally able to speak a gentleman who was able to track down my move. He informed me that someone had messed up and my items were placed into storage in SC. He apologized to me and told me that he would begin trying to remedy the situation. At this point my biggest issue was that the company never thought to call me or inform me that a mistake was made and my stuff was not going to be delivered anywhere near the estimated date. Moving forward I began to call the company throughout the week asking for updates on my move. Each time was answered by a voicemail and would require several calls (+3) to get in contact with the proper personnel. After finally getting through, I was told that there was a truck scheduled to come in two days and that my goods should be in NY by the weekend or early the following week. I call back two days later and had to deal with the same jumping around trying to speak to someone and when I finally do, I find out the items are still in SC. They are closed on the weekends but then the following Monday I had a long talk with the operator again and explain the situation. Again I am told that two trucks are coming, one Tuesday and one Wednesday and that my items will “for sure” be on one of those. Working on a base with security restrictions I am away from my phone all day and I had worked out with the operator that they will call me and leave a voicemail when my items are picked up or if for some reason they are unable to. Tuesday and Wednesday come and go… still no answer. When I finally have access to a phone after work, the company is closed. Each night I left a voicemail and each day I received no response. At this point I am hoping that they just have not had time to listen to the voicemails and that the lady forgot to call me with the update… maybe my stuff actually was on the way. Finally having access to a phone at work I call and speak to a man who I walked through my situation. He looks up my move and tells me that my goods are still in SC. The operators “guarantee” the past week appeared to be worth very little. He asks for my number and assures me that HE will call me before close of business with an update. Leaving work I go to my car to find a phone with no missed calls, no emails, and still no updates. I had got out of work with 20 minutes left to call the company before they close. I do so and a receptionist answers. Again, I explain the situation but she informs me that there is no one left that could help me and she is the last left. She told me that she would walk to the warehouse and look for someone to give me an update but also told me that she would call back REGARDLESS of finding someone. As a surprise to no one, I still received no call. Currently I am still without all of my belongings and am living in an empty apartment. Not once has the company ever reached out to me, not once have they ever gotten back to any of my voicemails, and not once have they followed through on their word. My only hope at this point is that I receive my belongings at some point and that I can spread this experience far enough so that all other navy personnel will know to request to not have Reads Moving Systems of Carolina as their House Hold Good moving company.

Very clustered parking lot, waited 3 hours to begin unloading in warehouse, waited another hour after I finished to get my paperwork, all while they know I had another job that day. Also watched them drag unpadded furniture that was on high value inventory.

Initial phone call gave me time of 2-4 p.m. Movers called at 11:00 and said they would be at my home at 11:30. I had two large pieces of furniture, a desk and a hutch. I paid for room of choice. Both pieces were to go at the top of my stairs. Not only did they not take them up, they didn't even open the boxes for me. Based on this experience, I would never use this company.

We are military and have moved many time. This is the first time we've had a horrible experience. For the most part, the movers were pleasant, but two of the older men were not as pleasant to deal with. We lived in a 2400 square foot home and the packers only took 4 hours, and didn't pack a whole lot. The movers the next day were obviously annoyed by this so they had to spend more time than they expected to finish packing. Here's the real issue for me...all the boxes were labeled for which room, but no specifications were made. Such as this box should say "living room/electronics" or "garage/power tools". No. No. I had to rip thru 8 large boxes just to find our dvr. I still haven't found my power drill so I cant put my table together! And to find dirty shoes on top of clean clothes, husband's military awards not properly packed therefore broken, bathroom decor on top of the Xbox, picture frames thrown in as an after thought on top of toys (yeah, it broke) They don't tape the parts such as screws to the item it was removed from so once again, more searching. It's a joke! I could go on, but I think you get the point. It's a hard job and I appreciate that (we tipped and fed) & didn't think we'd need to micro-manage, but dang!

I had ordered a mattress on the 5th of August and the order was set to be delivered no later than the 28th of August. Today is the 6th of September and they have now lost not one but two mattresses. Every time I call there isn't a manager available to speak with and they attempt to sideline me with a new excuse. They have received this mattress twice now the first time the system has logged they attempted to call me to schedule a delivery time and no call was received. When I call them they claim they never received it and they have already reordered my mattress without informing me. After three weeks since they claimed they reordered the mattress I have yet to receive. The retailer says according to the tracking number they have in fact received it for the second time! I am still waiting on a return phone call from the manager of the facility.

We had a full-pack as well as had larger items shipped (riding lawnmower, 4-wheeler) and Chad and his crew seamlessly packed, loaded and delivered us all in a week! We did a military move and this is who they assigned. The point of origin movers were ok, but the guys who delivered our goods were not professional at all. First, they pulled into our yard and kept rolling their hand truck in the mud and then onto our brand new carpet. When I asked them politely to not bring the hand truck past the entry way, I was met with a lot of grumbling about how they didn't want to hurt their backs carrying boxes, etc. They did not assemble any of the furniture as we were told, and they did not unpack or haul off any of the boxes or trash as we were told they would. In addition, I informed this company over two weeks ago that we received someone's very expensive art pieces and was told they would pick them back up-they are still leaning against my fireplace in my living room. Overall not a great experience at all, I would select someone else.

We are military and this is by far the absolute worst moving company we have dealt with. I will list just a few of my grievances. 1. The packers and loaders were hours late and did not even call to let me know. 2. They stole the sound system for our tv. 3. Also stolen, pain medication (the container was there, it was just empty) 4. They also wrote in the description of our goods that EVERY single item was soiled all over, ripped all over, etc. this was done so they would not have to take responsibility for any damages. (This was not realized until after we received our goods and infuriating because SO much was damaged because of poor packing) Because of poor packing there was dirt on all of our furniture. I will do everything in my power to get this company banded from being used in military moves. I should go to the local news outlet and tell them how disgraceful they treat our service members, and anyone who uses them. They need to rethink how they do business.

I was returning a mattress and the company set up the return through Reads. I was supposed to call them right away to set up a pickup date and forgot being that I was in the middle of organizing moving out of my house. I remembered the week of my move and called in hopes they could still pick it up in time. So I called and was happily suprised that not only they could come pick it up in time but they could also get it on a Saturday evening!! They showed up right on time and called to tell me they were close. It couldn't have worked out any better. Very happy and highly recommended them!

Do not use this company, we r military n we had our schedules for our household goods to b delivered after being without them for 18 days. They were suppose b here between 8 n 5. No show, no call an no answer. Unreal! They have our contact info. They should of called. So now we are left in an empty apartment with nothing to sleep on or sit on. Wasted day sitting in apartment waiting for our stuff to have them no show.

Worked with John to assist me with a two part move. The first move was a local move from Moncks Corner to Goose Creek. The crew arrived on time and they were very professional with great attitudes. The move went smoothly. They started the day with a brief walk through and explained the process to us. This was extremely helpful to make the move less stressful. Once they were done, they let us know that they will heading to our new home in Goose Creek and explained how they will unload the truck into our new home. Second part was moving the rest of the home to NY. This move went smoothly also. Horrible communication and customer service. I spent two days trying to get in touch with the dispatcher and driver with our goods. Estimated arrival time given by the driver was inaccurate and no one called communicate the change. Our arrival of goods is 4 days later than originally stated. As a military family we are used to moving and this was by far the worst experience!
