The actual men sent to the job were great! Did a wonderful job moving our furniture and were on time. The problem is what we were quoted on the phone and what we were actually charged was double the amount. Beware - I would get any quote from them in writing!! The owner charged us for every little thing like tape, shrink wrap, an extra stop on top of his $300 per hour charge when I was quoted $150 per hour over the phone. The workers were great but I certainly do not recommend the owner R. Johnson. We were taken at the end of the move but with nothing in writing there was no recourse.

Four years ago I moved across town and would highly recommend these guys to anyone needing to move. Previously living on the third floor of an apartment building makes moving difficult. These guys showed up an hour early prepared to move, and very nice and polite. They wrapped every bit of my furniture and moved everything quickly and efficiently, taking the extra time to ensure that nothing gets damaged. No extra charge for trucks fees, wrapping fees, washer/dryer fees, or tv fees. Just a simple hourly rate. And when moving into the new place, they asked where we would like everything placed. These guys are extremely professional and as stated before would recommend this company to anyone looking to move for a very affordable cost. Feb 21, 2018 This is the third time I have used this company to move. Not only are they fast and efficient, they are the best price in town. One low hourly rate, no up charge for wrapping, wrapped the tvs and fragile items in moving blankets. Crew is very polite and courteous, they waited an extra hour due to carpet company installing carpet at the same time. They helped organize the rooms with the larger items. Highly recommend this company and will continue to use the company in the future.

I called yesterday (Saturday) at 3:30 begging for help due to my other moving company running almost 4 hours late with no contact. 3 guys and a truck were at my house in under an hour, had the truck loaded and unloaded into my new place in 47 minutes! I am a home builder and familiar with different moving companies across the United States. Formerly based in South Carolina and had transferred my business to the State of Florida recently. I had used many movers over the years in moving my materials from marketplaces to my sites. However, I have not tried Johnsons Moving And Storage not until last week when I was disappointed by my favorite movers. To be honest, I testified a big difference between the two groups and Johnsons Moving made a big difference. Simply the best and easy to work with!

Johnson's Moving And Storage is just great! You will be making a good choice if you hire them for your long distance move. I hired them last month for my long distance move and they did a great job! They came on time and they brought all the necessary supplies. My place was cleaned out in just 5 hours! Everything was delivered on time and they did not damage a single thing! Their pricing system is very accurate and very reasonable. I had a marvelous experience with these guys! I highly recommend them to all!

This was arguably the worst moving experience I’ve ever had. They mispresented the pricing as well as where they were based out of. I was quoted 149/hour for 4 guys and a truck. I was invoices for time driven from Charleston and back to Hilton Head. Had I known that I would have hired a local mover. They also showed up with a truck and van they tried to charge me for the didn’t need and I had to get them to take that off the invoice. I then had them move a small condo two days later and a similar experience. The original invoice was for $1500 which represented a 4 hour drive from Charleston to Columbia. Worst case scenario it’s a 2 hour drive so again trying to overcharge for the service. Additionally the two movers showed up late, hungover with no tools. My son and I moved the same condo in 1 1/2 hours and they tried to charge me 3. I would never recommend this company and consider them unprofessional and dishonest at best.

This was one of the most positive moves I've had. I'm 75 years old and I was living in South Carolina by myself. I wanted to be close to my family in Illinois. In the beginning, JMS changed my coordinator three times and that confused me a little bit 'cause I wasn't sure who I was supposed to be talking to. But everyone I talked to did a good job. The crew was also pleasant. They did a very good job packing and they were careful with all my stuff.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They are dishonest and DO NOT TAKE CARE OF YOUR FURNITURE.. Read Yelp reviews. Richard, the owner will be nice on the front end but as soon as he has your furniture his personality totally changes. They moved our furniture for us into storage for a short time and when they came to pick it up the price they gave us when we talked on the phone tripled after they got the furniture on the truck. When we called Richard to ask about it he became irate and he threatened us and then had the nerve to go on my husbands personal business page and write reviews that didn't even relate to the move, slandering us. I knew it was going to go down hill from here but i had no idea that when i got my furniture back it would be destroyed. When the time came to get the furniture back the price they gave to deliver it was tripled. I was able to get it down to a price that wasn't reasonable but i had no choice. They then make you pay up front through a wire or certified check. I told them i would deliver the check but wanted to see the furniture. I went to the warehouse and was refused to see my furniture because they said the warehouse was closed. When it was delivered i was shocked. It looked like they dragged it down the street. There weren't just dings, there was wood chipped from my very expensive table, glass broken on my buffet and the list goes on. The items were wrapped in paper and Christmas paper. They want you to sign the form prior to getting it off the truck that everything is satisfactory prior to looking at it and won't take it off the truck unless it is signed. When calling to discuss the damage they say you should have gotten insurance but there wasn't an opportunity to get extra insurance and they basically just don't care . THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM. They say $99 / hour and yes that sounds good but they will make up for it believe me. I have had so many people come forward about this company. I usually do my homework and i didn't this time and now i'm paying for it. Please read yelp reviews.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! Richard Johnson charged us double what he quoted. He was extremely rude. he was difficult to get a hold of and did not return phone calls. He changed the moving dates several times after we had told him that we could not move on a different day. He was not on time. The movers damaged a significant amount of the furniture. I would warn anyone against using him. There are multiple complaints on this website as well as others exactly like mine, which reveal a pattern with his company. There is even a webpage dedicated to the horrible experiences with Johnson's Moving and Storage. I would never use this company again!

It was a hot, humid day. I was moving to a 3rd floor apartment with no elevator -- no problem! Those three men worked like champs. The move was perfect, on time, on budget. Nothing broken. I was moving some things from South Carolina up to a new house in Michigan. Initially, I read all the comments about Johnsons Moving And Storage and there were some bad ones. But I fully read the comments and in most of them, it looked like they tried their best to resolve people's issues. Then, in quite a few of the comments, the people would not respond when Johnsons Moving was trying to resolve their issues because they probably were not really issues and they were just trying to get something extra. So, the reviews made me very confused and concerned. But my husband told me that since I felt good about the guy who I talked to from the very beginning which is the Owner Richard Johnson, I should stay with them. So, I did and I had an awesome experience. I was wondering if these people put their reviews on the right company because what they were saying in the comments did not match what I experienced.

The price was extremely competitive and the movers that came arrived half an hour early and quickly and carefully packed everything in their truck. Then they quickly unpacked everything too and there were no dings or damages to be found on any of the furniture or boxes that they moved. Johnsons Moving And Storage gave me a perfect move. The foreman and his team came on time on the moving day and very quickly packed me up. They knew exactly what they were doing because they never came to me and asked me what to do. Before I knew it, everything was in their van locked and loaded. They even labeled everything so that it would be easy for me to find. They are really great! And also their pricing is really low and affordable. You will not get a better offer.

Johnson's Moving and Storage was able to help us with a move on short notice (less than 48 hours). The crew was polite, friendly, and very efficient. We were quoted over the phone $99/hr for a 2 man crew. Our move was completed in 2 hours, but when the final paperwork was completed, I was told there was a 3 hour minimum, which was not originally quoted. I called and spoke with Richard, who made things right. We will be using Johnson's Moving again.

I am happy I choose this company for my move to Mt.Pleasant recently, I was originally considering on renting a truck and doing the move myself but after I did the numbers I decided to just get some bids on Movers, The second Richard called me I knew I found my right company, Richard mentioned details that other companies didn't. He even helped us ship our car at a reasonable cost. The movers (Shane, Johnny & Marlon) These guys were great. During the day we even found time to crack some jokes while they worked. Cameron in the office kept in touch while our stuff was waiting to get delivered and Johnny the delivery driver worked non stop to get us delivered in our new location before the elevator cut off. Overall the entire process was a lot of moving parts to deal with but all was handled very well and the outcome was successful. Happy to leave this review for the company.

We recently used Johnson's to relocate to our new home. We had a two stage move, selling one home and waiting for the new home to be built. We used Johnson's for packing and storage. It was an easy pleasant experience. The worker's arrived for both moves on time. They packed everything perfectly, well labeled and all fragile items arrived safely. Jason and Gerald were the best! All of the furniture was safely delivered to my new home without any scratches or breakage. They wrapped each piece of furniture which was especially helpful because it was raining outside and completed the moving process quickly and easily! Absolutely terrible experience. I never leave reviews, but this was a particularly bad business to deal with. Just read the other reviews. He will take your credit card number and make frivolous and unauthorized charges. I was charged a "stairs fee" when they came to get my things, a "docking fee" when I took my things out of his storage, and a host of other "fees" that would take too long to explain. None of these fees were ever disclosed or authorized. He just charged them. His actual hourly moving charges were more than double what he quoted me. The actual movers were great guys. The owner is a terrible and untrustworthy person.

Worse place to work. Never trust what they say it's not clime control. This place has drivers not legally able to drive the trucks. I've got a class A and when I found out the guy training me didn't have a driver's license I left. This place is very shade.

Where do I begin? Customer service over the phone is RUDE. I booked the 9am slot. I arrive to the storage unit wait until 9:10a before giving the company a call. He then states they moved me to 11am since I was short notice. I understood and inquired why they confirmed 9am when I booked it, when they could have just told me the terms of the “short notice”. He goes on to tell me I’ll be the second job. “expect a phone call about 11a, and if I don’t like that time I CAN CALL ANOTHER COMPANY.” Not in an apologetic/suggestive tone- more like “if you don’t like it GO” I state I have to be out my storage unit by 4p and I’ll be waiting for the call at 11a. I don’t believe in fighting ugly with ugly ESPECIALLY when they were TRULY A LAST RESORT. I give the company a call about 12p inquiring their whereabouts, he explains that the first move was bigger than expected and I should get a call within the hour. 2pm rolls around I give them a call No ANSWER!! I call again he picks up and doesn’t say anything. I have a male call he answers and gives him the drivers information. The drivers get to the unit at 3pm. I ask them to move with the sense of urgency because I have to be out by 4pm. That they did. Overall the move took 2 hours and 15 minutes. They have a 3 hour minimum. I was just so over it. I tipped the drivers/movers they were efficient and careful with moving my things. If this man continues to speak to customers the way he does, he won’t have much of a business any longer. Especially in Charleston, SC where friendliness and kindness THRIVE.

PRO: Kurtis, Damon, Jackson, Ian, and Eddie from Johnsons Moving are the best!!! It's been a long rough road and I thank them for making it easier! They were personable, fun and professional. CON: My price more than doubled from quote (due to 3 heavier pieces than they expected at $200 a piece) and they added 1 more man (2 trucks, 5 men) at 7 hours. I couldn't have beds/mirrors/etc. assembled because I couldn't locate the materials (my fault totally) however assembly was paid for so that's kind of a bummer. So the question is.... Would I use them again and recommend them... ABSOLUTELY! Especially this group of men, they were GREAT!!!!

Johnson's Moving and Storage was great. I had called them and on short noticed and scheduled them for the following day. Before I knew it, they had already arrived and was waiting on me to get instructions. Mike was the head gentlemen in charged and I gave him a walk thru on what needed to be done. With very little supervising he took over and they had me moved under three hours. These guys are professionals at moving. They are not stop and very dependable. Hats off this crew.

I made a comprehensive research before I went with this Company. Seeing the reviews they acquired, I was inspired to try them. The very first thing I did was to call the Customer Service and in return, they answered my call right away. This impression also motivated me took the last decision. The next step was 2 men came to my residence to take inventory of what needed to be vacated. After a little while, they dropped me the cost of moving my things from South Carolina down to Texas and the charge they gave me wasn't all that bad, I accepted it, so we signed the deal. They showed up two days after, with all their moving materials and a nice truck that fit the distance they had to cross. I was highly impressed when I glanced at those tools they presented for the assignment.

Moved with these guys twice now. Once from downtown to Mount Pleasant, and now internationally to England. By far the best price, and service around. Richard arranged a great price for our shipping container overseas. Varian and Maurice were our movers, and they were very courteous and professional guys. I was relocating locally and I don't have a good back. Also, there was a lot of stuff that I would have to get three or four people to come and help. Richard Johnson that signed me up and they guys that showed up were very nice. They said they wouldn't break anything and they didn't break anything. And my kids could be a pain but they were very kind to them. The move took a few hours and it was well within the timeframe and what I paid was the same thing as what they quoted. Johnsons Moving was great.

Hello, I hired your company (Johnsons Moving & Storage) to move from Charleston to New York. I wanted to send along my praise for the three men who came to move us. In particular one of them certainly stood out from the rest (although the other two were quite great) my experience with Michael (I did not catch his last name)prompted me to write you directly. A company in my opinion is only as good as its people. Michael worked incredibly hard. Never stopping to chat or check his phone. He is incredibly polite. One of the most well mannered men I have ever met actually. He and his crew were diligent, careful and fast. I asked him if he had been working with your company a long time. He said he had been with your company for more than 5 years. The other men only 2 years. They are not only professional and courteous but did an excellent job. I certainly hope this information gets passed along to management. I will invariably be recommending this company for others in need of moving and storage.

Absolutely disgusted with this company. We were quoted a price to move our apartment furniture into a new house which was only 22 miles away. The quote on the face of it seemed really competitive although you always expect to add a little extra cost on to any quote. We were quoted for 3 men for 4 1/2 hours. When the arrival time came and went I waited for half an hour then called them. They said that the removal men had been working until 2am and would be here in an hour. Not a problem I thought. 5 minutes later 2 men arrived. They were nice enough guys but spoke very little English, they had no idea what the job entailed what was being taken and where it was going. We showed them what to do and left them to it. We went to the new house to complete the handover and they did not arrive at the other house for another 8 hours. They then told us we had to pay them before unloading and showed us the cost. It was THREE times the amount quoted. I asked for his managers number and spoke to him. He quickly started back tracking and stopping the price when I queried it. In the end though he was useless. I spoke to Richard Johnson who seems like the owner. I can honestly say I have never spoken to a more obnoxious and disgusting person in all my life. Not only was he completely useless and lied to us he also ran down his workers saying “they are only removal people and laborers not doctors”. In the end I hung up the phone because he should not disrespect his employees like that. The two guys worked really hard albeit a bit slow. I helped them unload and we had it done in 2 hours straight. The managers and owners of this company are completely unethical and horrible people. Be warned of you use them they go in cheap to get the business then rip you off. You have been warned!! Just saw the reply from (somebody) at this company they didn’t even have the decency to identify themselves. Complete and utter lies so I am guessing Richard probably wrote it. There was 1 flight of stairs which was discussed at the quote stage not 3 complete BS. The entire apartment and the items in the garage were always part of the discussion/ quote. Again total BS. Any good review on this site was done by their employees. Look under Yelp. This company is a SCAM and Disgrace to quality movers. They go JMS Worldwide and Johnson Moving and Storage - some corrupt organization, and run by dishonest people. I have never done a review before, but felt an obligation to others so they do not use this company under any circumstances. I have never worked with a more dishonest organization. They completely destroyed our furniture, over $20K in damage, and they had their insurance give us $250. Dishonest, disgraceful people and business. It is a shame the State of SC doesn't shut them down! Richard lies, misleads, deceives and doesn't care about anything regarding his customers. Destroyed our furniture, overcharged us, help our furniture hostage until we paid more than originally quoted. This company is a scam and should be shut down! DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS. DO NOT HIRE THIS MOVING COMPANY!!!! The four men who moved me ( Diante, Maurice, Eric & Doanld) were excellent. However, I could not find a box of my china, valued at $4000, the next day. I called the owner, Richard Johnson, on Monday and he assured me he didn't have the box. I continued to look for the box, and in the mean time my check cleared for the move, and i still didn't locate it. I called one of the men who moved me and they told me that the box had been recovered on the truck and given to Mr. Johnson. I called Mr. Johnson to make plans for it to be retrieved. Mr. Johnson was extremely rude and told me to be quiet while he was talking. He then told me that the box of china was broken and that it was my fault. I explained to him that the entire set of china, worth over $20,000, had been packed by me and that every piece was unpacked, and unbroken, and in my kitchen cabinets. I explained that I didn't understand how all of that china was unbroken except for that one box. And that I expected to be compensated for that box. (If the check had not cleared I would have put a stop payment on it) He proceeded to yell at me and then hung up on me.

Last year I had to make a move for my Dad on very short notice due to progression of a medical issue. When everyone else told me I had to book a week or more in advance , Johnson's moving and Storage were very accommodating. What started out as 3 - 4 days notice ended up being 24 hours notice. Conrad and Evan arrived a few minutes before the window provided for arrival time. They did a great job moving what needed to be moved, as well as packing and moving the remaining items to storage. When Chris and Maurice delivered the items from storage, they were quite professional and efficient. When I finally unpacked everything, it was all intact with no breakage or damage, even though a large number of the boxes contained very fragile items. Unfortunately, had to repeat this again when my Dad had to move to a skilled nursing facility. I had 4 days notice this time. Once again, this company was very accommodating. Conrad, Evan and Shawn arrived a few minutes before the ETA. They helped me finish packing what I had not been able to do and had everything moved to my home before the morning was over. They were very polite and efficient. The cost was quite reasonable and well worth not having to spend 3 days doing this alone with a U-Haul trailer.

My husband and I used Johnson's Moving and Storage last weekend and they surpassed our expectations! I made arrangements a month in advance and expressed my concerns since we had a horrible experience with another "family" company and I was assured that would not happen, which it didn't! The movers were scheduled to arrive between 8am-9am on a Saturday and actually came 15 minutes early. They took 4 hours to move a 2 bedroom apartment located on the 2nd floor from start to finish, they never took breaks, they had great communication, nothing was broken or damaged and everything was backed very well. They exceeded our expectations and we will recommend them to anyone. It was such a relief :)

Overall I had a good experience. My wife and I moved from North Charleston to summerville and the 5 guys that moved us were really personable and professional. They paid attention to detail and handled our items with care. The crew was great. They arrived on time and were in and out. The only issue was that all of the fees were not fully explained over the phone when the appointment was set up, but the actual price was still lower than what we were quoted by other companies we contacted so it worked out though it was more than we expected to pay.

Richard Johnson and Cameron Bright are liers and thieves! They will say anything to get the business, then hang the customer out to dry! I would give these guys a negative 5 if I could. I asked Cameron to quote me for a long-distance move from MI to SC, he said it would cost between $4500 - 6500. I told him no thanks because I could get it done by another company for around $2800. He said he'd make a call (probably to the other scam artist Richard) and would see what he could do. He called back in less than 4 minutes and said he could do it for $2500. We agreed, and Richard came out to our home to sign a contract (that should have been the first clue that these guys were shiesty). I signed the paperwork about 4 weeks prior to the move date and asked Richard to send copies of the contact. Since we're already established here in SC, we had booked flights to MI to meet the crew so they could load up and move our stuff. One week, five days, two days prior to us flying out to MI, I called their company repeatedly with no return call from them. Richard finally answered two days prior to our flights to say that they were not going to be able to move our home. The reason he gave me was because a family that was supposed to be moving to MI from SC backed out at the last minute. The problem with that statement is, we never signed an agreement dependant on another family moving towards MI. He responded by saying that I should have known that they couldn't afford to drive from SC to MI just to move our belongings for $2500. We ended up having to cancel our flights because it was too short of a notice to get another company to do it for a reasonable price. Richard said, it's the cost of doing business and I should just move on rather than be upset. To date, I'm still trying to get the signed contract from them. I'm willing to spend the time and have a personal conversation with anyone so they can understand how sinister this company really is. PLEASE DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THESE SCAMMERS! =========== ***Update to Richard's response*** As stated previously, the contract we signed was never dependant on someone else moving to Michigan, nor was that ever mentioned to us. I'm sure that's the reason why you refuse to send over the signed contract.

My wife and I recently moved locally in the Charleston, SC area. In contacting various movers, I landed on Johnson's and wound up speaking directly with the owner, Richard Johnson. The entire move was handled professionally and in a timely manor. The crew of three (Calvin, Chris and Destin) were right on time and were most pleasant to work with. They listened to our questions and/or directions and got the truck loaded in good order. The offload went smoothly, with everything placed we wanted without having to move things around (big time saver). A short while after the move, Mr. Johnson called to see how things went. I recommend this [USMC] veteran owned company whether you are looking to move locally or beyond.

Richard Johnson was very nice and professional when he was trying to get my business, but once he had our stuff at his warehouse, he turned very nasty and condescending and actually hung up on me, twice. He quoted me one way on the phone, but the actual method of moving our belongings ended up being something very different, and the total move cost twice what I understood it was going to be. It's my fault for taking his word and not making him write every detail in the contract I signed. When I tried to call him on his word and negotiate to get what I was promised, he threatened to sell my belongings at auction to recoup his fees! His movers were very nice and hard working, but a lot of our stuff was broken, and boxes marked 'fragile' were crushed. He says he's not responsible because we didn't pay him to pack our stuff and we didn't use the 'industry standard double walled boxes', which might be true, but if a box has 'Fragile' written all over it, you wouldn't think it would arrive at your new house crushed, as well as other heavy-duty plastic containers broken. If anyone wants to see pictures, I have plenty!

BEWARE!!!!The staff in the office though helpful while booking where horrible to deal with after the fact. I work in customer service and although I was upset would never in a million years speak to a customer the way that he handled the situation. He tried to change what the on site manager conveyed to me and would only focus on the damage the movers did instead of my concerns of being over charged. He hung up on my 4 times and told me I was being hysterical which was more frustrating than anything. He then proceeded to write a nasty and unprofessional email to the repair company with me copied on it. I never received any paperwork even after calling to request an itemized receipt. The movers were nice and professional even though they did damage to the wall and a number of pieces of furniture so I have no issues there just the service I received after our move was over. I regret working with this company and strongly advise against using them even if you think the quoted price is lower than other companies.

We paid for a storage option to keep our possessions which include pieces of furniture from our old residence for 4 months until eventually, we transferred to our new home. All of the movers showed up at our old house on the day of the transfer. Those things were kept in their storage facility and immediately after the 4 months, we called the Customer Service again to schedule one more transferring from the storage to our new home.

I have used this company numerous times over the past years and made many referrals, however the most recent will be the last. My items were mishandled, numerous damaged items, missing articles, overall cost almost $1000 over estimate. Move was less than 5 miles away. Furniture was not wrapped, tables and mattresses were dragged and sustained damage. Openly lied to when I questioned broken glass near the elevator only to later discover that a floor lamp and a table lamp were "missing". Called the owner, Richard, that evening and he never offered even a apology or any type of restitution. Only told to refer to the bill of laden on back of estimate. Which I did and clearly showed how much I was over changed. Extremely disappointed in the lack of customer service and care. I have submitted written concerns along with photos of damaged items and still no response. BEWARE - not what they claim to be.

Steer CLEAR of this company!!! Read the reviews for yourself. There is a reoccurring theme. They break your stuff AND they over charge you once they have YOUR possessions in THEIR possession and you will NOT get it back until you pay them what they want - EVEN if it is more than what was agreed upon. If you do business knowing this...you deserve to let them rip you off as they've done so many others! Also make sure to check out Yelp feedback as well

I used Johnson's Moving and Storage to move our things to multiple locations. While there was not that much to move, some of it was extremely heavy and cumbersome! To complicate matters, some had to be moved down a very narrow stairway with a couple of turns. Chris, Mark, and Eric did a phenomenal job! They were clean, on time, very professional and courteous! Absolutely the best movers I have EVER hired! I actually called them two days before the move and I couldn't have been happier with the experience. I would definitely recommend them!

We had Johnson's come and help with a huge office move and Gerald, Mike, Dale, and Jason were a big part of the reason we got it done. They worked all day and into the night. They packed everything in blankets or saran wrap, and made sure the furniture was moved and placed carefully. Thank you guys and thank you Johnson's--you guys were great!

This experience has been an absolute nightmare! The actual movers were nice but I was told over the phone the cost of the move would be $300. Once the movers moved my things to the new house the supervisor Cameron Bright sends over the invoice of $421.60 and is snarky about it and said that the $300 is just what they start at. Very disappointed as the movers said that I didn’t even have much for them to move and this was one of the easiest moving jobs they’ve ever encountered. Mr. Bright has the nastiest attitude and should be fired today! I will refer everyone to not use this company! On top of the rude customer service from a “manager” I’ve had the pleasure of having a handyman come out to attempt to fix my washing machine that was damaged when it was transported. If you want your stuff broken, if you want to deal with Cameron Bright, a manager with zero customer service skills, and being ripped off and charged over $400 for someone to move a washer, dryer, two box springs and one mattress 20 minutes down the road, be sure to hire these thieves.

Johnson's moved my office for me about 5 years ago and Mr. Johnson was great. They recently moved my office again. When we got to the new location, they tried to add a $400 heavy item fee. This additional fee was never discussed prior to showing up to the new location. They held my office in their truck at the new location for 45 minutes till I signed their paper work and paid the additional $400. Basically extortion. A manager named Cam showed up to demand cash if I wanted a $200 discount. Very unprofessional . If they had told me about the additional fee before starting the move, this would have not been a problem .

We had a marvelous experience with this company. We booked them 2 weeks before our moving date and they were ready to help. Three days to the exact date, they called to remind us of our move. When everything was set, they showed up on the exact date at 7.00 am, just as they promised. The moment I let them in, they began packing and disassembling my pieces of furniture, packaging my books and vital files. They as well wrapped all the items that needed to be wrapped and when they finished wrapping the things, they quickly loaded everything into the truck and delivered our belongings to our destination in about 6 hours. My husband and I are really satisfied with the services these guys provided and we would not hesitate to book them again

I came on here to look at reviews before finding a mover . All of the recent five star reviews are fake . Click on the previous reviews that were made by these people , and they are all for the same places. A perfume place in Christiana mall in Delaware and a couple of reviews in French . How am I supposed to find out if a company is legit doing a good job if they put fake reviews on ? Needless to say I will keep researching .

Unbelievable!! Do not hire these movers!! I’ve used this comany 3 times in the past and have recommended them to everyone. Sunday, yesterday, I called to make sure the movers would be on time as scheduled, the fella who answered said, “they may be late”. The movers never showed up. I called multiple times. This morning I had to reach out to discover what happened. There was so apology. In fact the guy asked, “do I still need a mover?” Um...yes. Nothing was moved yesterday because the movers didn’t show up. This morning, I called another moving company to book my move; the guy said I was the second person to call with the same issue about Johnson. There must be new management because this is bizarre.

I have never left a review for a company but am making an exception after my terrible experience with this company this morning. BE WARNED AND HEED THE REVIEWS OF OTHERS. I was referred to Johnson Moving by 2 co-workers who had recently used their moving services. One coworker had a good experience, the other did not, however, being newer in the area, I thought I would give them a call. I looked on the website for pricing, which is there, however, I wanted to get a little more details on whether there are additional costs for "bulky" items, having to move things up and down stairs and/or elevators, etc.; details of which are not listed on the website. I called in this morning and the gentleman who picked up the phone not only rushed me right off the phone, but went so far as to hang up on me before I could even ask a question. I was able to tell him that I was calling for more information on moving rates in Charleston. He asked what kind of move. I let him know it was apartment to apartment. His reply was "That information can be found on the website. Ok? Thanks." and hung up. Did not even give me a chance to ask about additional pricing, if any, or really even to get a word in. I most certainly will not be using this company and am appalled by the customer service for new customers.

My recent move from Florida to Charleston was made exceptionally easy with Johnson's Moving & Storage. My personal articles and furniture were very well protected and not even the smallest thing was damaged. During my daughter's many apartment moves in college, we have counted solely on this company. They arrive exactly when scheduled and are very friendly and so very happy to be there to help you! I used these guys, and were able to schedule at the last minute. We moved from Florence SC, and the crew packed everything and moved into our new home within one day. All four of my kids were able to sleep in their beds that night! Moving with kids is stressful enough. The crew was amazing! They did a great job without damaging anything. I used their storage warehouse because we had too much going from a big house to a smaller one. The prices were great, and the location is super convenient. I have had bad experiences moving before, but this was a great one. We recommend them, and we will use them again!
