These guys were great to work with. They helped my wife and I move from Elgin, SC to Charlotte, NC. Moving isn't always an easy experience but Gentlemen Movers were extremely accommodating to our needs. The crew showed up on time and were polite every step of the way. They took great care of our belongings and I would definitely recommend using using them for your next move.

They did a great job. Move from Augusta, GA to Saint Matthews, SC with two stops in Saint Matthews. Rob and the two guys that were with him were very polite and efficient. We were able to get everything done is a much shorter time frame than my wife anticipated. The price we were charged was UNDER the estimate. I would highly recommend them.

Initially quite impressed with the ability to schedule on short notice; however, that was where it ended. I had one item to move, a hot tub, which their website and the owner guaranteed they could handle. Morning of the move I'm informed they had a truck go down, which I later found out was the truck with the lift gate. Later in the morning I receive a call saying they would need to call another company to assist and would give me a call that afternoon, as they could not handle the move without the proper equipment and additional manpower. No call came until I emailed, left a phone message and text. I was then told the other company would complete the move the next day. This prompted a call to my friend who took 8hrs of leave, informing him i was sorry, but the move was off for that day. The following afternoon, the move was completed by two men that kept me informed of the progress and delivered in a timely manner. Neither of which were employed by Gentlemen Movers. I was then billed by Gentlemen Movers in excess of the original quote, which I disputed with another employee, since the owner refused to respond to my emails, text and phone calls. The employee explained that the charged amount was what they would have charged were they able to complete the move. But of course they didn't complete the move but made a phone call to have another company complete the move, which cost me a fee of $175.00. After a discussion with the employee, since the owner refused to handle the dirty details, I was offered a $50.00 refund, which I've yet to receive. Next time I'll be sure to get a written quote. It will include a clause saying I won't be charged for their broken truck and inability to move a hot tub, as described on their website. Of course that quote will be from another company...

Robert and his team were fantastic! I had to coordinate moving our office and the last time we moved we did it ourselves and swore to never do that again. The movers were all truly gentlemen and went above and beyond. We, of course, had some odd sized furniture that had to be partially disassembled and they took everything in stride. They made moving as easy as possible and they were incredibly careful with all of our things. Definitely recommend!

Recently, I hired Gentlemen Movers to do my local move from a list of six other companies I had Survey my house for an estimate. Their estimate, conducted by Michael, was professional and extremely competitive and ultimately won me over because they claim to be veteran owned and operated. Once I set my date, it was a matter of waiting for Moving day to arrive. The plan set by Michael and for which I received an estimate for called for six movers and two trucks, one truck going to storage and the other to the new home based on his question whether I wanted a long day with the movers or a shirt day. I chose a shirt day because I would only be one day removed from spine surgery and a shirt day would be easiest for my body to tolerate. Fast forward to moving day; two trucks, four movers instead of six, no packing supplies and no clue they even had to pack. On top of that, movers weren’t inclined to have to disassemble anything and even less to have to reassemble it. On mover didn’t even have his ID knowing they were moving me to a house on the military base. The owner came out early on and dropped off boxes and changed the plan to an all-day affair. No tape for the boxes, no markers to mark them, they didn’t even have straps to strap my move down. I ended up having to use my entire set of ratchet straps and bungees for them to be able to tie my items down for transportation. They left items unpacked which I had to pack in my car, had to remind them multiple times about the two items in the back yard that needed to go and they moved at a snail’s pace; more talking than moving. One truck didn’t even go directly to the house, instead taking it upon themselves to divert across the base unescorted to the food mall to get food, which I was charged for on top of it all. I call and ask for Michael to call me back and discuss how dissatisfied I was, explain every last bit of this and when asked if I wanted the owner to call me about my dissatisfaction, I say yes. I’m still waiting for the call back. Once they finally decided to finish dropping off at storage, they ask if I want it charged to the card on file or different card and I tell them I want it to a different card. Never got a call to confirm amount to be charged, let alone get my card info and then I was charged more than the amount shown I’d be charged when I signed for the completed move. On top of that, I was charged for boxes (a couple, although not the point at all) they never used instead of accurately charging me for how many of each they did use. I emailed Michael that next morning when I received my receipt and again, have yet to hear from him by email or phone. Needless to say, bad service all around and I am embarrassed to know they are supposedly owned and operated by a veteran(s) when I am a retired and disabled veteran. There are many options out there, honestly, choose someone other than this company. UPDATE: After receiving a call about my review, it was brought to my attention that their lack of internal communication, lack of proper packing supplies and poor overall service shouldn’t have been blamed on the actual movers but Ron their opinion was mine for not telling them to bring straps, tape, packing paper, markers, straps, ratchets, etc. Apparently, they are more along the lines of self-service moving rather than having paid for full-service professionals. Again, wouldn’t recommend them for a move with many comparable options out there. Lesson learned for us.

Would not recommend them. They charged us $668.00 just to move our furniture from in the same apartment complex across the yard to our other apartment. And there were three men who moved our stuff. It was in the same apartment complex just across the other side . We were quoted $150 to 200.00. got ripped off.

The movers did a good job once they got there. I was scheduled for a 9:00 move and they arrived at 9:35. Be prepared to pay for that slow drive to your house (they charge from the time they leave their office, and you just have to take their word that they left when they said they did). Apparently, going 9 miles down the interstate on a Saturday morning takes 50 minutes round-trip. When I called to confirm that this was correct, I was given a vague answer about billing in 15 minute increments and them needing to load the truck before they left. Overall, the service was good. I was just disappointed about them being late and being charged so much for their drive time.

This company is fantastic! They moved my family from Tulsa, OK to Blythewood, SC and really did a good job. I have a lot of belongings and it took several trucks and a lot of movers to do our job. They were punctual and my cost was very close to the estimate he gave me. So happy I chose them. Nothing was broken and I even have a grand piano. I felt really good about the demeanor of the owner and his close overseeing of my move. I would hire them again and highly recommend!

I was given a quote with a low end and a high end. Needless to say I was charged close to $200 more than the high end. Not to mention that I called about an hour into the move because they had clearly sent a new guy that had no idea what he was doing so the more seasoned mover constantly had to explain and train him....ON MY TIME. I was told to call back once they finished and they would rectify the situation. Not to mention one guy actually google searched and called a motorcycle repair shop while I was still on the clock. Once they finished I called the manager and he once again assured me that they would take care of me. Later that night I received a email stating that the charge would stand because they had to take two trips (they brought the smaller moving truck) and because I had too many stairs (20 instead of the usual 10) apparently I was supposed to count them. I would never recommend anyone to Gentleman Movers. They take advantage of their customers during a very hectic time. The extra $200 is a lot for a single mom that was working on a estimate they gave me. According to the manager “an estimate is just an estimate “ so potential customers beware....and make sure that you have an extra $200 if you decide to use this company.

My family and I moved from Florence SC, to Rock HIll, SC, approximately a two hours distance in travel time. We are a large family of six people, and needless to say we have acquired a lot of stuff through the years. Gentlemen Movers was the first and only place we called. They were exceedingly professional in every aspect of our move, from the scheduling, to the loading, to the unloading at the final destination. Our move involved two trucks and a crew of five movers. Their crew was very courteous and patient with us as we directed them where to put things in our new home. Additionally, the crew was also very friendly in the way that they interacted with our children, which is a real plus when you have four young children running all over the place on moving day. We found their pricing to be fair and well within the average range for the industry. But that was all that was "average" about this moving company: they were above average in all other respects. I highly recommend them to others without reservation.

We had a bad moving experience back in the fall. The young men that did the actual moving were fine but the supervisor on the truck was not competent and two pieces of furniture were damaged, one being an antique. He took no responsibility for his actions. The owner of the company was defensive and took no responsibility for his employee and did not take care of the damage to the furniture. To finish our moving job, we hired our landscapers and they took better care with our furniture than Gentleman Movers. We were very disappointed with their services and do not recommend them.

I used these people last year to move me from a house we were renting to an apartment. These guys took many breaks had the audacity to ask me to go buy cigarettes for them and drinks and took their slow time moving our items so they could milk the clock. They damaged my red couches, rubbed them against the walls in the apartment where there are permanent marks not only in here but did so also in the house we moved out of. They damaged items, broke dishes, HORRIBLE!!!!! After putting the things in the apartment they asked for almost $500.00 at the end and they were not even worth a penny.

We used their labor service to load a Uhaul we drove ourselves to move out of state. The guys showed up on time, albeit smoking and dropping cigarettes in our driveway, and worked very quickly to get us loaded up. Initially, I was pleased, but I wasn't watching them load every piece. When we arrived to our destination, we found the truck had been carelessly packed. Furniture was not wrapped; the blankets we rented were lightly draped over a few pieces, but most weren't even used. About half of our furniture now has scratches/scrapes/paint marks. Glass shelves were left loose in pieces of furniture. Boxes clearly marked fragile were stacked recklessly on top of one another. A wooden table was propped on top of a mattress, unable to be seen from the back of the truck. Consequently, when the movers at our destination pulled the mattress out, the table fell and broke. The movers at our destination seemed to think the way the truck was packed was completely unprofessional. When I relayed these complaints, it took 3 days to get a response from Robert, who then told me that it had been more than 4 days since they packed our truck and their responsibility ends when they close the truck. I think that's a pretty lousy response, and I will never recommend this company because of that.

Absolutely the most unprofessional ,unreliable moving business ! They totally had no information regarding the change of pick up although I made a change with company verbally and was agreeded. I made 4:calls day of move to confirm pick up location as they were 4 hr late. Acted like not a problem. There were serious repercussions from this breach of contract . I requested mediation ,owner hung up on me . They stole my locks and the damage to antique furniture is totally inexcusable . Use any other company ,but not this one !
