Worst army move I’ve ever experienced! As shoe collectors, our family inventories everything. Upon moving to Texas, two boxes were missing SHOES! One guy was assigned to our shoe room. The audacity!! Filed a police report on the assailant and it’s basically his word against ours. When we return, this company will be the furthest on our list! UPDATE: The thief was terminated. Mark was amazing in understanding this unfortunate event. Great service as a company.

We are a military family and this is the worst moving experience. I just got my household goods yesterday shipped from SC to Texas and I’m missing a couch. The day they did the moving it was raining and now I have stuff with water damaged. A lot of damage and broken furniture. Run from this company. They are a joke. Plus, they took 4 days to do the moving.

Military Family Moving from Columbia, SC all the way to Hawaii: We literally only needed Coastal Moving to store our ONE COUCH while we move overseas. All they had to do was come to our house on time, pick up one couch and store it. They were schedule to come to our home at 8am. They arrived at 6:30PM that night. They then realized that they did not bring a truck large enough for our couch and would have to come back the next day. The man told me he would be back at 8 am the next day. The next day we had movers in and out of our home from a different company that was shipping our house hold items. Around 2 pm I had my husband call Coastal because they still hadn't shown up for the couch. The manager Mark said he had no idea our things hadn't been picked up the previous day and would send someone over. The same man that was there the day before showed up, blaming his manager Mark for the miscommunication. He and his partner started to move the couch. My couch was upstairs in our family room. They did not wrap the couch in plastic at all to protect it as movers usually do. I told them the way they had to move the couch (it was the same way we got it up there). They ignored the directions causing $600 in damage all along the stairwell (and a hallway that all they had to do was walk straight through). The dents and dark colors scratches from my couch being dragged across the walls was extensive. We approached the gentlemen before he left and expressed our concern. He told my husband that he would talk to his manager about it and then had my husband sign the form, pointing to the exact spot he needed to sign at when there are damages. When my husband asked if it was the correct spot he said yes. He ended up actually tricking him into signing the wrong spot. My husband called the manager Mark right away. Mark said that he would take care of it not to worry the damages would be paid for. Well not only is that not going to happen because it would "cost the company money" they are saying that it never even happened. Mark told us that the kid that showed up at our house quit that night. Said the other guy (who isn't the guy who was at our house, I think it was just the quitters friend) says he doesn't remember any of this happening. We are an Army family that is not our hundreds of dollars because of Coastal Moving who claim to be supporters of the military. All they had to do was move one couch. Thats all we needed and it was literally more difficult and more damaging than the move of the rest of our items in our home. You had one job, Coastal Moving. You failed and we would appreciate you making it right.

I called and left 6 messages trying to schedule a delivery and never got a call back. I left messages with supervision and never got a call back. I had to go through a 3rd party to get it scheduled. On top of that, I have never had more stuff damaged during a move than with them. Out of 7 moves, this was by far the worst service.

Already at 2 stars and they haven't even moved us out yet. They came to our house last week to check out what we had and cut the first day off of the move. Got a call at 8am when they were supposed to be here and the said they they would be here at noon. At 2pm they were still packing the a different house that they booked in place of our first day. Our renters move in three days and our house is not even started to be moved out. Edit #1: they are set to arrive and start packing my Will update when it's all said and done, but this is a terrible way to start. Final update: they stopped packing our house atter staying until nearly 10pm on the first night. Day 2 start was almost as bad as the first one, got under way around noon instead of 5pm like the night before and got worse from there. Handled all of our furniture in such a way that the company paid over$1,100 on first demand (should have asked for more). Not a single furniture pad was used in this move. Broken couch (2yr old), electric fireplace and mantle (band new) broken; gouges, scrapes and rubs on nearly everything. The moving team was rushed and stressed out and ultimately resulted in a medical emergency that required an ambulance. The team lead did not want to deal with the hospital or get this guy medical attention because she wanted to get home. For reference, it was a very deep 5 inch gouge in the wrist from forearm to base of hand that left a steam of arterial bleeding across the driveway and through the house as the guy was screaming for help. Please note: I'm not upset about the blood, the guy could have easily died. If you are stuck with this company, I highly recommend you take pics and record everything!

They haven't even shown up to pack our belonging yet and they are already messing up. Calling two days before the pack out day and trying to change the dates and telling us that they had us scheduled for two days instead of the one, which now messes up our appointments to clear. Missy was unprofessional and no matter what she was unwilling to work with us until we told her we were going to find someone else to move our belongings.

Not sure why they are getting alot of negative reviews. They worked very hard, fast and had great attitudes. Would definitely recommend and use again.

The worst moving experience we have experienced as of yet as a military family. The ladies who packed us up did an excellent job, but it was all down hill from there unfortunately. The day they came to pick up our household goods, one of the movers knocked over the box that our 60 inch TV was sitting in. They also managed to destroy a brand new desk of ours even before they got it out of the house. We were then told that our shipment would be taken to Florida, our next assignment, and would go into storage there should we not be ready to receive it. Well, come to find out, they immediately threw it into storage in Columbia without consulting with us. When the day came for them to bring us our shipment at our new location in Florida, they only brought half of our stuff and did not bother to call and let us know that they could only bring half of our stuff on that day. It would be almost three weeks later before we would receive the rest of our household goods. During this time, the only communication I had with the company was when I called and demanded an answer as to what was going on. Never once did a manager seek to reach out to me and explain the situation. When the day came for us to receive the rest of our household goods, the truck sat in our front yard for over three hours only to have the driver come and tell us that he would be unable to unload the truck because his help failed to show up. We finally received the rest of our household goods the next day only to find out that they were missing three items. It was amazing to us how we could ship our stuff all the way from Japan back to the States and not be missing anything, but we move 6 hours down the road and they can't find all of our stuff. We ended up having to claim several items due to poor handling. This is not a professional company and I would not recommend using them.

The worst moving experience that I've ever had. Workers were unprofessional and impolite, and it sounded like their management did not give them ample time to complete jobs and forcibly rushed them. A Cello was broken from mishandling, instructions were ignored, and trash was left behind after I told them to leave and hired a different company to finish up the next day. To sum it all up I'll just leave this picture. (my clothes were shipped on clothes hangers in upright boxes, and when unloaded were heaped in piles on top of the clothes racks) Sheer negligence.

Worst moving experience in 14 moves. These guys win the crown for overall poor service. They have the rudest and most incompetent packers and movers I have seen in 29 years of military service.
