Was really excited to use A Perfect Move. I had heard so many great things, and even paid more to use them then the other quotes we were getting. I am not a complainer. I've moved 5x and never had a single problem or complaint. There was a lot A Perfect Move did great. The office was very well organized. They called with any changes, very thorough, but I was really disappointed by several things.
1.The attitude of most of the employees was terrible. Some were nice, but when we went to unload the car I told them we should probably take a tour of the house so I could show them where everything went. They went back to the truck and turned to each other and started discussing (Like i didn't exist). All clearly saying they didn't want to do it. They finally (Im assuming) selected one person to do the walk through. No one else wanted to. Bc of that soo many things did not end up in the right place and I had to continue moving hours after they left.
2. Things break during the move. I understand that. However they broke my table, and put a blanket over it. I happened to check it and they acted surprised. They said they didn't know where the pieces were. I later found them stashed in a trash bag in the garage. I wasn't mad. I understand things happen...just not handled well.
3. They complained. I have 4 kids so I had a girl helping me. She said the movers complained over and over about moving the garage. They even asked her to help. Repeating asking, "Do we really have to move all this?" Moving stinks. I hate it, but thats why I hired movers. I offered them water. Made them coffee...Offered snacks, but I think they were just tired. they kept trying to leave before it was finished.
4. I hate confrontation. Just not my jam. There was one guy that everytime i stopped him on his way to the garage and told him where something was supposed to go he just stared at me. No reaction. Just stopped. Stared. and then walked away. It just made me feel uncomfortable. They had mentioned they wanted to put everything in the garage and most stuff went there, but I didn't want to have to remove everything by myself later!
5. On the first day of the move I asked them to move a piece upstairs. I had 5 guys. They said it was the end of the day and they were tired, and it would be better to do fresh in the morning. I was ok with that. Id be tired too. The second day though there was only 3 guys. They said they couldn't move it up there with only 3 guys. Could they have done it with 5 I asked? "Yes, Probably". I asked them to try. They did, but couldn't do it. So now i have a piece sitting in my garage.
6. It was more. We had to move our moving date bc our house wasn't ready. This wasn't there fault, but just a heads up....It cost us $900 to move the date. I was trying to save money so I got a moving truck and moved 3 big loads by myself. all the breakables, all the mirrors...I tried to make it easy for them...In the end it still ended up more than they quoted. Thats fair. I know they can only guess, but still unfortunate.
