We recently used Mooney's for a move and temporary storage. Up until the actual move, we found their service to be satisfactory, but noticed that they emptied all drawer contents into individual boxes instead of keeping items in their drawers and taping the contents. obviously the latter method makes for much easier unpacking. However, once the actual move into our new location, the service drastically changed for the worse. They used the garage as the main storage area to the point that the garage was filled beyond capacity. You were not able to walk through the garage nor store a pin in it. At this point the movers left. Subsequent to this move, we literally had to hire another service to assist us with the huge unpacking process, much of what could have been avoided. After a few attempts to contact the Moving Co. ownership for some moderate remedy it fell on deaf ears.

FIND SOMEONE ELSE!!! I hired Mooney's for a VERY small move (2 glass floor lamps, couch, rug and some boxes). When we arrived at the destination, I was told that one of the floor lamps had shattered. I filled out all the claim forms and provided documentation that the lamp would cost $575 to replace PLUS $200 for shipping. Two weeks later I got a check in the mail for $12!!! It's going to cost me $775 to replace what THEY BROKE and they were willing to pay for $12!! Customer service is a joke. When I called Mooney's, they were not willing to budge- they reimburse 60 cents per pound. When I let them know I would be posting reviews with my experience, I was told "they take slander very seriously". Save yourself a headache, and money!!, and find someone more reliable!

I highly regret hiring Mooney's for our residential move. My wife and I hired them based on a recommendation from our realtor. The move occurred on 12/22/2016. The foreman on the job provided no direction or guidance to the crew. The movers put our 1950's Paul Mccobb original furniture on dollies, stacked with no padding and went down the stairs with the dollies. By the time I realized what they were doing and told them to wrap the furniture, it was too late. The furniture should have been wrapped and carried. After we got into our new house we looked at the furniture which was badly scratched and damaged, resulting in well over $1,000 worth of damage. The owner, Steve, would not take responsibility for this and did not believe me when I described to him how it was done. He only agreed to pay the low amount that was stipulated in the contract based on pounds of furniture. When I spoke with him, he questioned the accuracy of my statements and offered nothing additional. They are unprofessional and were not even going to put cardboard down at they doorway for the move into our new construction home until we basically forced them to do it, even though Steve had assured my wife beforehand that they always do this. I can't recommend folks enough to steer clear of hiring Mooney's.

I used Mooney for a move from NJ to Pittsburgh, PA. They arrived on time and the crew of guys quickly assessed everything and got to work. In less than two hours the truck was loaded and on the way to Pittsburgh. Everything went smoothly and the guys were very friendly. The next day in Pittsburgh went very well also. The two days of the move were probably two of the hottest and most humid days of the year and these guys worked like champs. I would definitely recommend them.

We used Mooney's to move 3 years ago and I can't believe they have the score that they have. I love the positive reviews followed up by the owner's responses clearly written by the same person... basically this guy is stroking himself. The guy who came out to do our estimate was friendly and clean cut, but when the time came to move, the movers were uncouth and unprofessional. They took 3 breaks in the first 4 hours and even had the nerve to ask us, "Where a good place to grab a hoagie [was]" in the middle of the job. Big surprise, they wound up taking 2 hours longer than estimated and destroyed an antique roll-top desk, for which we were only compensated $200. This didn't even offset the extraneous time they took to eat lunch not once, not twice, but thrice. We instructed them repeatedly not to lift the desk from the midsection as the top and bottom were only attached by a few screws. They chose to lift it the wrong way anyway, and it crumbled to bits before our eyes. That desk had a lot of sentimental value for me and now all we have are photos. The movers repeatedly asked us if they could "have" items that belonged to us. We acquiesced in some cases because we wanted to get the job done as quickly as possible, and we had no use for those items and could not sell them in the weeks leading up to the move. However, in the cases where we told them, "No," they decided to steal the items we did not wish to part with. This is not a moving company, it is a racketeering enterprise.
