REVIEWS OF Moda Moving IN Oregon

I honestly don't know why this company has so many bad reviews. When it came to scheduling the move, I worked with Dan. He was patient and understanding even when I changed my moving dates 3 different times. The movers showed up a little before 8am, loaded the truck, and unloaded the truck by 10:30am. They were younger than I expected, but they were nothing short of amazing. Even when things got tough, they were always super polite, understanding, quick, and courteous. My move with Moda was nothing short of outstanding!!

I didn't end up hiring Moda Moving, but their customer support was very helpful and clear with me in trying to plan my move, which I appreciated!

The Moda moving team arrived on time, and got right to work. They were very polite, helpful, and accommodating. I would not hesitate to hire Moda again.

Lost my couch cushions and scuffed up all my other belongings in transit. The rest of my possessions were delivered weeks ago and despite calling 2-3 times weekly to give my mailing address and to ask for updates I still don’t know when I’m getting the most important part of the largest piece of furniture in my living room back. Do not do business with these people if you want someone who will treat your belongings or their customers with any kind of respect.

Two day move with Kat, Claudia, David, and Jose. They were fantastic, friendly, accommodating, and everything got here seamlessly. They took great care of my stuff and my space and were on time and fast! Highly recommended!

Before considering Moda Moving, do your research. This dishonest company may cost you thousands extra by being deceitfully led. The only reason I was able to spend close to my original budget was to catch on to their scheme and have Moda Moving only move half my belongings. Yes…I rented my own moving truck and finished the job myself to move a family of four and home office. The SCHEME comes down to Moda Moving sending out a “Relocation Specialist” Dan Garratt who is professional sounding enough to use and comes to your home and quickly inventories your belongings and follows up with a quote for number of trucks and movers. Once Mr. Garratt’s quote is signed, you’re handed off to “Dispatch” Chris Hill for final terms and conditions paperwork. So far, so good. On day of move, everything goes off the rail. Less agreed upon trucks and movers show up at your door and confusion by all ensures. Lead mover is then on the phone with Mr. Hill trying to salvage the day with what they must work with. NOW, here’s where the scheme comes in. The apologetic lead mover then must methodically inventory your belongings again while the other movers start packing you out but this time, your presented with a new inventory list and your estimated weight and costs have doubled. At this point, Mr. Hill and I have an awkward conversation that basically sums up to either I sign new estimate or truck and movers leave. So…In order to stay on budget, I demanded we resort to original quote and by the way was off by 1,500 lbs. In the end, I used Moda Moving to move half my belongings. The rest is back breaking history and like other reviews, will file complaints with appropriate state and local agencies and leave you with this review as a resource in your own moving company research. Buyer beware!

Good moving company!! The pictures tell it all. Miscommunication between sales rep Dan and moving coordinator Chris. Make sure you are on the same page before moving day! Chris said he sent me his 4 best guys - Javier, Jose, Mario, and Rey. These guys were professional, polite, energized, and careful, and hard workers! They didn't stop until the move was complete, which was about 7 to 8 hours. The thorough wrapping of furniture, door bumpers, and even a long rubber mat in both walkways was the extra touches that impressed us. Highly recommend without a doubt. I am very glad we went with MODA Moving!! Thank you all!!

This company was a no-show at a critical moving time. This is a mistake you just can't make.

I recently did a long distance move with moda / North America van lines. The entire process was about as easy as moving can be. They came out and did an estimate at my home along with a few other companies, moda ended up being the least expensive. The crew was efficient and worked quickly. Only 1 thing broke which actually was my fault as I didn’t pack it very well, so no fault to the movers. My last move I had a few different things broke so I was very pleased with how things went this time. I will be using moda and North American again for my next move.

Well after the initial promise of what a great company this is, what great care of my furniture the movers will do etc. I was horrified in the way I and my belongings were treated. I watched as two movers almost dropped my washer and dryer trying to get the upstairs using a dolly from who knows where 'Goodwill' came to mind. After wrestling around with it, the very rude mover told me "it's too heavy we're not taking it upstairs! I can't believe Moda doesn't have appliance dollies for the hired hands that obviously has to bring there own cheesy equipment to the job site. I finally had enough and called the only person I trusted at this point and got nothing more than an unsympathetic ear. The day started on a sour note with the 'joke' from one of the guys to me about how Moda didn't even cover their lunch (as I was looking over my almost $2000.00 bill ) got very unfriendly after I said nothing about buying their lunch either! I'll be submitting a damage to property report as well as a lost/missing Christmas tree that never showed up at my new place! PS I was never contacted from this company about how the move went, guess they don't care once they got your money.

Recently moved within town. The movers Ovaldo, Ramiro and Mario were friendly, fast and very careful with my stuff and finished the move quickly. Thanks!

I mean they technically completed but I was not impressed. I’ve used a lot of movers over the last 10 years and this company was subpar to say the least. I had to teach the crew how to use a dolly properly and jumped in a significant amount just to keep them from running the hourly cost up. Ultimately, I ended up using a couple family members and we were able to get the job done, quickly, with far less issues.

was very disappointed with this company, I hired them to move a one bedroom apartment, they arrived with big truck, after they arrived and took inventory of item one of the two guys said he was sick,(this move was a Sunday morning)so they could not do the move and left.I had also gave a 100$ deposit at time of reservations, I have not received that money back, or any return calls as yet.

Great crew, on time and so careful. Great service for a sensible fee.

Did an in-town move with Moda moving and their initial estimate was around 4-5 hours to completely move a 2 bedroom ground floor apartment and they did it in 3 hours with only 2 people. Miguel and Jose were absolutely awesome. Really nice, made sure all of our stuff was protected and did not hit any walls or doorways at all. And they were extremely fast. I will absolutely use Moda moving again in the future.

At first, I thought they were going to be a good choice, but the move left us frustrated and items were damaged and we can't get them to follow through and resolve the issues with the damages. My husband collects bronzes and they are very dear to him. The salesman assured him they would be properly packed and moved without damage. They didn't pack them or move them safely. Three were damaged, one severely. We were told they would send two trucks and 4 men to start at 8am. They sent 1 truck and 3 men and they arrived about 9:30 as I recall. We still had some packing to do and figured we could be done about the same time as them, but they chose to move boxes first, and didn't move any of the large pieces, nor did they start packing my China and the bronzes. They moved slowly and didn't seem to be in any hurry. Then one of the movers started complaining that they couldn't wait for us to pack. They weren't waiting, they had plenty to do. The lead mover said he was just being crabby since one of the movers hadn't shown up. He also said he could get another man and another truck if he deemed it necessary. At first, he did not, but he saw that not everything was going to fit. When he called he apparently complained that we were holding them up, which was not true. When they heard the. Manager was coming out, they finally started hustling and were working with purpose. The manager continued to argue with me about not being done, but they still had not started packing the China or the bronzes. Nor had they brought in the wardrobe boxes so we could pack our clothes, nor had they brought in any picture frame boxes, which I thought they were going to pack, but we got stuck doing that. There were some things we did not get done, but it was due to us being called away for things outside of our control. My point is, instead of arguing with us about whose fault the delays were. they would have done better to do what we were told they were going to do and settle any differences after the move. We finally got everything over to the new place, but I want the damage settled and I am left very frustrated. I can't recommend this company.

I had an excellent experience with Moda Moving! Uvaldo, Carmen, Ramiro and Jr. were efficient, friendly, and super knowledgeable. Would recommend to others!

I moved a month ago and scheduled 2 people to come and move my stuff. The both were new in the job and not professional

Charles Carpenter

Kat, Claudia and Austin were outstanding!

Please do not use this company at all !!! They seem like they are doing it for " veterans" in atleast the sales guys "Dan's" pitch he gives. But he's super unprofessional. Don't even recommend them to anyone I don't like. They said they know how to put together and disassemble Sleep number beds which they don't which took more time and obviously and then more money than quoted. They also changed the moving to 2 trucks to 1 truck the morning of my move which I wanted 2 to make it less time and again less money. Very unprofessional company all around. The only thing good about then was their movers were very nice and respectful. But the most deceitful company I have dealt with in a long time. I text Dan and tried to reach out after the move to let them know what was wrong and to let them know my bed is still not out together correctly. And of course no response !!!! Awesome

management sent a large truck from wilsonville for one bedroom move in hillsboro even after taking an estimate on furniture and charged extra hours for driving. Movers quoted an estimate for 6.5 hours and spent half hour arguing, and asked to pay after loading the truck or would not deliver. After moving left scratches on dinning table and drawing room tables. Whole move took 3 hours for door to door apartment change and I was charged for 4.5 hours. It's frustrating cause so many things were hidden while booking the appointment. Explains their 3 star ratings. Wouldn't recommend to anyone in PDX metro area. It has low hourly rate but there are few catches.

The worst move ever! Boxes were damaged and items broken as a result of rough treatment. Also, due to company's miscommunication, we were late in receiving our belongings. I've moved 15 times in the last 20 years and never have experienced anything like this!

My movers, Ramiro, Uvaldo, and Carmen did an excellent job. Quick and courteous, they took care of all of my things without any damage or difficulty.

My local move with MODA movers was a very excellent experience. The communication before the move was efficient, and professional. All of my many questions were answered. The moving day crew was young, led by Kat with Adam, Jack, and Spencer. They were great, hard working and problem solving as they went. This was my first move with professional movers, and I am very satisfied with their service. Thanks MODA.

I caught Moda lying about a claim I had due to damage they caused. If Moda is not going to honor their insurance process, why even have one? Here are the details along with a recommendation to help prevent this in the future. I contracted with Moda and North American Van Lines to move my furniture. I can tolerate a few bumps and bruises on my furniture during the course of a move, that should be expected. Blatant dishonesty should not. My wife and I had recently purchased a sleep number mattress. Because it was only 7 or 8 months old, we purchased two mattress bags and bagged the mattress twice to keep it protected and clean. At some point after picking up our belongings, Moda brought the mattress to their warehouse and decided it would be best to dismantle the mattress (it’s modular) and cram it into boxes. They did this by taking the very clean mattress and placing it on the floor of their dirty warehouse. When the mattress arrived at our new home, it was filthy and the foam was a bit damaged. I submitted a claim through North American Van Lines. During the process, Moda responded by saying that we packed the mattress and they didn’t take it out of the packaging. This would normally end the claims process and we’d be out of luck with a very dirty, close to new, expensive mattress. HOWEVER, (and that’s a big however), the driver who picked up our shipment happened to be in the warehouse when they had taken the mattress out and decided to box it up. He mentioned this to me on the day we received our belongings because I noticed it immediately. I was able to track down the phone number of the driver (not affiliated with Moda) who corroborated my story to North American. In the end, Moda ended up having to pay for just a portion of the mattress (had I known Moda is completely lacking in integrity, I would have had them reimburse me for the whole thing). It’s one thing for a moving company to damage your belongings but it is an entirely different thing for that company to lie about it and try to circumvent the claims process. It’s too bad though because the sales rep for Moda was pretty nice but I have absolutely no patience for a company that tries to take advantage of me. NOTE ON MOVING: I would recommend to anyone moving, take your cellphone out and walk around your house/belongings. Record everything that you have packed up and that needs to be packed up. Take extra time on expensive items like mattresses and furniture. You could even record separate videos for each piece. It won’t take long and with the quality of recordings, you should be able to see any damage that is caused. It will make the claims process easier. Please give this a thumbs up if it helps steer you in another direction. I’d like Moda to understand that integrity is still important to the consumer.
