We did a long distance move using Upack from Columbus to Texas. We knew we needed our stuff packed really well in the trailer/pod if it was going to survive the journey. I researched several moving companies in Columbus and decided on American Moving because of price and friendliness of the customer service rep. The movers arrived on time and loaded the pod in two hours. They were very professional, hard-working, and also very personable. They did such an incredible job loading our stuff, that when we arrived in Texas and had our Upack trailer delivered, the driver asked us if we packed our own stuff. We told him no, that we had hired movers to load it. He said it was worth it because our stuff looked great - in perfect condition - barely shifted from how it was loaded. We shipped several Ikea items including dressers, desks, and box shelves. Nothing broke and we had maybe a handful of small scratches on our stuff. Amazing!!! It was so worth it!! Lastly, a word of caution. Make half of your boxes medium to light in weight so they can stack to the top. If you want your stuff to arrive in good condition, it has to be packed well!!

So many positive things! First of all their quote was half the cost of other movers I called and Jeff was helpful and friendly as I described my needs. I needed to go to two different places before my final destination and the movers did so quickly and respectfully. Nothing was damaged and the two movers were friendly, funny, and extremely helpful. My husband and I have used this company twice to move and were extremely impressed with both times. This was the most reasonable rate we found in this area and they were very time efficient. They got to work immediately upon arrival and moved our 2 bedroom 1500 square foot townhome (all furniture and washer & dryer) to our 3 bedroom house in 2 hours. American Moving and Storage was fantastic for my move. They came highly recommended from a friend, and in telling others of my move, discovered they’ve used AMS and were quite happy. I had a tricky move: I had to move out, store goods in a storage facility, then move into my new home one week later (and up to a third floor walk up condo). Todd was very kind and worked out a fair price for both moves. Both crews were friendly, efficient, and had the moves done in under an hour. They also stored my goods in their facility for a really good price. You can’t go wrong with AMS. Stop looking and give them a call.

Great experience with American Moving - they just helped me out this past weekend with a move. The movers were very professional, fast, caring of my items and all around great guys. They actually brought 3 movers instead of 2 and were done in half the time that I was originally quoted. This company is amazing. My move date was on a day where the weather fell to 19 degrees. I initially had concerns of the movers working slower than normal or taking breaks to escape the cold. We had 2 apartments to pack up and move into a town home. They completely destroyed my concerns. Mike and Nate (the 2 movers who were assigned to the contract) not only moved my 3rd floor apartment as well as my boyfriends 1st floor apartment very quickly, they were also gentle with all of our items. They were very personable and spoke highly of Jeff, who owns the company. Mike (who has been with the company for 15 years) explained how Jeff does not hire just any individual to work for the company. This gave me comfort in knowing that the movers for the company are experienced and professional. I have heard the horror stories of movers from different companies showing up to locations dropping items or even being intoxicated. I do not carry those fears with American Moving and Storage. I wish I could give a rating higher than 5 stars. To anyone reading this review, please know that you will not be dissatisfied with American Moving and Storage. Oh Yes, I do not want to forget to say they moved me (who lived in a 3rd floor apartment) my boyfriend (who lived in a 1st floor apartment) into our 3 floor town home in 4 HOURS!!! Washer, Dryer, 3 beds, Ping Pong table and all. Amazing.

Overall experience was great! Would use again and recommend to others. Three men showed up on time. They transferred the contents of a large storage pod to their truck and drove to a storage unit. We had the absolute worst weather possible for a move, with 35 degrees and freezing rain/snow. The guys American sent were somehow in the best spirits, with great attitudes and phenomenal work ethic. American Moving and Storage of Ohio called and confirmed the wrong date after we had a few different conversations about the actual date of move. We prepped well for our move by having most things in the garage except for beds (which we took apart). But we still had a ton of stuff to move! I was quoted a number far less than Leaders, whom everyone seems to reccomend. I told our movers that I’d like to do what we need to do to stick to that number. After we arrived at the new house, he kept me updated on our time and we changed strategies from taking items to specific rooms to putting most boxes in our new garage and only taking furniture in. This was fine with me to stay on time. Of course, they were willing to take it all in, but I wanted to stay on time and knew we had more stuff than we anticipated!! They didn’t compromise quality to get the job done quickly. Not a single scratch on the walls or items, and nothing broken! Highly recommended :)

5 STARS-Don’t Look Anywhere Else! I wanted to take a moment to give my feedback for American Moving and Storage Solutions. This was my first time using a moving company. I went to YELP to look at reviews on the different moving companies in Columbus, Ohio. I pulled up the main movers you hear about on the site. I started to get terrified at the different reviews I was reading about. How was I going to pick a company that I could trust and feel comfortable moving my belongings? I pulled up American Moving and Storage Solutions. I started reading their reviews on YELP and started to feel relieved. They had all good reviews, so I decided to call them for information. They were very informative and provided the information I needed for a stress free move. They followed-up our conversation with a email confirmation. They take your credit card information to hold the reservation. Nothing is charged to your card until the move is complete and at that time you provide them with method of payment. The owner, Jeff, contacted me the day before to confirm time and location. The next morning, they were scheduled to be at my storage unit at 8:30 am. They arrived early at 8:15 am. The 3 gentleman introduced themselves and the loading began. I was amazed. The 3 worked as a team and were amazing. They handled all my items with care and had a science to loading the truck so everything could fit. They used blankets and secured items when needed. They had the truck loaded up in no time and all three gentleman were very nice. Once my storage unit was emptied, the one gentleman even swept out the storage unit for me. I didn’t even ask. The unloading went just as smoothly. They took all my items wherever I wanted them to go, which included many trips down to the basement. It was raining that day and they put down blankets to protect my flooring and carpet. These three guys again were amazing and made this move stress free. I was very pleased and so glad I went with them. Once they were done, the clock was stopped and I provided form of payment and they were on their way. If you are looking for movers, you don’t need to look anywhere else! American Movers and Storage Solutions is the company to go with!

Not only was I estimated a rate and then had it tripled, but I was promised a two day pick up date in case of emergency‘s. And emergency did arise but the truck was not there in those two days it took four days to pick up my furniture. I was promised a 5 to 7 day delivery date. My furniture was not delivered in 5 to 7 days and the driver called me to tell me he was in every state but the state I needed him to deliver my things to. He told me as long as he delivered my furniture within 21 days there would be no compensation. My furniture is still out there traveling. Needless to say I am not happy. In addition my car was shipped. It was budded out to another company, unbeknownst to me. The promised price was $1100 it ended up costing me $1450. DO NOT USE AMERICAN MOVERS AND STORAGE Company!!!!

This is the second time I’ve used American Moving and Storage and again they did not disappoint!! They moved a 2 bedroom apartment into a house beautifully. Chris and Dawayne were professional, curtious, and extremely hard working. It was 80 degrees and sunny and they didn’t take a single break during the entire 5 hour move. Their spirits were high, making jokings and laughing the whole time. It was a pleasure working with them. They were careful with our things and very efficient. When it was looking like rain during the unload they went into turbo mode and hurried everything off the truck onto the porch or just inside the house successfully avoiding the rain. From speaking to Oscar on the phone with setting date/time up to meeting the two movers who helped moved all my furniture to the fourth floor of my apartment, it was a smooth experience! I am glad i found this company and will be coming back if needed in the future. Not to mention, movers helped put my bed together, got rid of an enormous orange/zebra striped spider for me, and gave me one of their extra bottles of brisk iced tea to drink since i had an empty apartment! I had a terrible experience from uhaul’s movinghelp website suggestions (movers didn’t show up and i had to call fives times to get a refund.
