Right from the first phone call to additional calls and emails with questions, and then confirmations of service, American Moving & Storage of Ohio was wonderful. Hubby and I are in our 50s and both of us have moved many, many times in our lives ,so we're experienced with both moving ourselves with friends and with professional moving companies and, let me tell you, THIS company rocks! Their price was very reasonable and the two men sent out were clean, good natured, professional, and worked their butts off! On our last move we used Leaders and the movers dilly-dallied around the vast majority of the time, which left a bad taste in our mouths, so we wouldn't recommend or use them again. These guys, however, sincerely hustled, took good care of the furniture and boxes, asked appropriate questions when needed, and weren't hesitant to move something in another place if I didn't like it where they originally put it. In addition, they also put down a blanket in the entryway to protect the carpet from their in/out trips loading and unloading. So very helpful and pleasant to work with. We will use this company again, without hesitation, and will recommend them to our friends. Excellent company and employees!

We just bought our first house.from our 2 bedroom apt,we still have lots of small stuff and some basic furniture.I google and yelp Columbus moving company and find this one.It is great. I did not sleep well before moving because I worry it will be very hard and difficult.But they do great great jobs. Both guys are very very professional. They came to the apt 10 mins early. We have tons of boxes -more than we thought. They did fast!super fast. You can tell they really work very very hard. They have good tools to carry the boxes.I really appreciate them.Anyone in Columbus search for a moving company, choose them. They are great people.Thank you.-We move from Columbus to Lewis Center and it's a local move.Price is very reasonable.We also leave some tip to them. I am not a super generous person to leave tip.sorry, not very rich...But for their work, I really feel I need to give them more tip as I can. They deserve more tips than restaurants or barber place. I found American Moving on Angie's list and they had over 400 outstanding reviews. I can't say enough good things about how easy they made everything for me. I spoke to Oscar over the phone and he took inventory of what I was moving and put together a quote. The final price was slightly more because they did have to make a second trip which took extra time. I will say they packed the truck like Tetris pros though. When the team arrived they didn't spend much time coming up with a game plan. They got right to work. Not only were they hard working all 3 were very friendly. As they unloaded everything was setup were and how I wanted it. I'm talking beds. TV etc These guys were literally jogging back to the truck as they unloaded. They understand your paying good hard earned money for their time and they do NOT take advantage of that. I don't think they initially anticipated having to do a second trip and I know I would have been exhausted. But they kept the same pace he entire day. I highly recommend their services. I will never move myself again. It is well worth the money and they truly are professionals In What they do. Mike the lead and driver has 15 years of experience and it shows. You can tell they have been working together for years and aren't some college kids making money through summer. They literally have their own language and telepathic powers and it's amazing how easily they moved some big heavy items up and down stairs. They will treat your items like they were their own. Advice for those moving:-----Learn from my mistakes. Be sure to have EVERYTHING you can boxed this makes the move go faster and easier. A few items broke which was completely my fault from throwing things into open top bins last minute. -Be sure to label every box. Several boxes I didn't label and though this seems small it's a pain in the you know what to have to do work such as move boxes around the house because of not planning properly. -Also be right there with them as they unload. They move quick and it helps them and you to direct. At time I was off on work calls etc and some items were placed in the wrong room. Completely my fault but word to the wise be there to direct them so your not stuck shifting boxes around after you move in. If you take my advice you could literally sit down and relax when they pull away. They will have everything where it needs to be setup and working.

Jeff was very informative during my call for an estimate. He gave me a time that I thought was reasonable and I went ahead and booked it. The first day the movers were at my house and ready to work about 10 minutes early! They got started packing my stuff and what I thought would take 4 hours, these guys (Chris and Jason) knocked out in 3. The next day they came back handled the move with ease. They moved some of my bigger pieces including a piano, armoire and full length dresser. The entire time they kept a great demeanor and handled the move like pros! They moved our entire house (loading up at one house and unloading at the new one) with a 30 minute drive in 3.5 hours!! No dings or scratches or any issues at all! I can't recommend them highly enough! Save yourself the hassle of dealing with the other guys and use American Moving and Storage. I know I sure will!

The best move I've had in 15 years! My team of Henry, Bill and Stephén were an amazing team - prompt, professional, hard and fast working, personable, and most importantly managed a 3 stop move without one bit of damage to anything. When I emailed Jeff about my more complicated move, he appropriately suggested I would be happier paying for a 3 man crew versus a 2 man crew. He was so right; the decision didn't cost me another dime, and the move was done in 5.5 hours versus 7.5 or 8. I was never so happy to give out generous tips. For perspective, these guys are better than a team I had from Two Men and a Truck, two moves managed by Brendamour (Mayflower out of Cincinnati) and two moves managed by Planes (United Van Lines out of Cincinnati). I could not recommend American Moving & Storage highly enough and will be posting a similar review everywhere I can.

What an amazing experience! Like most people, I HATE moving, but Jason and Paul made it painless. These two guys were awesome. I did a local move, and they quoted me for a price and time that were spot on. No hidden fees or anything. Also, they were quick and efficient but also took their time caring for my furniture. It's funny because my couch could not fit in the door of my new apt, but somehow these guys made it work. They could have easily just left and not have tried as hard as they did, but they stayed and tried every possibility without damaging anything. I am so appreciative, AND I wish I had more money to tip a little more than I did but unfortunately I am a broke college student (haha) so I tipped as much as I could. Long story short, when I moved in with my ex roommate, she did not tell me she had bed bugs, when I found out I made sure it was taken care of... The apartment had been bed bug free for over 6 months. This company did not ask if this had been a thing. And apparently it was a huge deal. Because they claimed to have found eggs, dumped my stuff just inside the door, trapping me in my own house, and walked out. They did not even give me a chance to explain. Then the manager called and scolded me for not telling them before (they did not ask), and I advised him that the bugs had been dead for months. He said he would call back in an hour. I called him an hour and a half later, and he said he had tried to call me then when I said that I did not get a call he yelled at me saying that I was calling him a liar. Then he said the owner would call me in an hour... It's only 20 minutes into that hour, but just thought everyone should know, you know before that they don't ask the questions required to do their job apparently, then blame you the customer for their incompetence.

If you are moving, make sure you look into American Moving and Storage. The crew was on time, very professional, and worked within the time quoted to me (I had them move two beds, a washer and dryer, small entertainment center, and some various shelving). My move included two stops, one at a storage unit and the other at the final destination. They have the best pricing in the city and you get high quality service, which makes it a steal for you. Completely worth the money in my opinion to be able to sit back and let someone do the heavy lifting for you!

We had never hired a moving company and didn't know what to expect. The staff were kind and patient over the phone, answering all of my questions and addressing all of my concerns. As promised, they gave me a courtesy call the day before to reconfirm our appointment. And on the day of the move, the team arrived on time and had our apartment empty in a ridiculously short amount of time. They arrived at our new home and unloaded in an equally efficient manner. The team asked me where I wanted boxes and dressers and weight equipment and all of our other things, and they asked how to arrange them within the room and the space designated. They even shifted a few pieces of furniture for me after setting them up, at my request. These guys took great care with our things, and they treated us with respect and kindness. We would recommend this team to ANYONE. We had a very positive experience.

Could not be happier with our experience with American Moving and Storage. When we were quoting places, they were the most reasonable and affordable by far. We were moving out of our 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment. Had quite a few very large and heavy pieces. They got everything we want moved out and moved into our new house (that was 15 minutes away) in 1 hour and 40 minutes. Perfectly within our 2 hour window! They were so friendly, upbeat, and did an impeccable job. The next time we move, I know who I'm calling!

American Moving and Storage gave me a much lower quote than I got from other movers and the final cost was exactly what they quoted me. The movers were friendly. They were careful with my belongings - as well as skillful and capable of moving my large, heavy sleeper. Would use them again and recommend them to others.

Horrible, horrendous, perverts. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. The initial service was great and that is how they hook you with a nonrefundable deposit and amazing promises. Once they have your money, it is all downhill. My quote was for $2,367 and I was told it included all standard wrapping and padding. My TV and mirror would be boxed free of charge. I should expect a call 3 days in advance to confirm my inventory and pick up window. No call came. I called 14 times between Friday and Monday morning looking for some kind of answer and didn't get any response until 10:30 on Monday (the day of my scheduled move). One of the rudest people I have ever interacted with told me movers would be out that night. By 4:30 they had cancelled. They didn't call or show up until the next morning at 10:30am. The two "movers" came in confirmed my inventory against the initial quote and then told me it was going to cost more to have the furniture wrapped and there were additional charges for moving a washer and dryer (quoted items). There were no additional items than what was included in the quote by my revised quote "based on the walkthrough" was now $4,756. I was then told I had 30 minutes to decide what I wanted to do or I would get charged for keeping them waiting. The company already had $728 which I wanted back or completion of the job closer to the originally estimated quote. When I called the service rep I spoke to originally, Viktoria, I was put on hold and then disconnected. I think talked to the account manager and was berated for being upset and getting frustrated. The condescending nature from the "drivers" and the folks on the phone got more and more irritating and I asked for my money back. I was told it was nonrefundable and at this point I didn't trust them to complete the job worth a darn and continued to ask for my money back. They passed around the phone throughout the service department essentially laughing at my troubles. They asked if I was on medication and refused to actually consider the situation. I asked to speak to the owner, and the representative asked "if I was a good kisser". He wouldn't even consider getting on the phone until I answered the question. The rep continued to focus on sexual comments until I added my mother to the phone call. At least then the sexual and derogatory comments stopped, but there was no reimbursement for the lack of job.

The move we had was a three stop move. Not only were the two movers we had professional and responsive, but they took extreme care in the move and our furniture. They responded to each of my requests without an issue, took furniture apart, put it back together and worked very quickly. I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone who is looking for a very affordable move! Thank you all so much!

Absolutely wonderful experience. I had never used a moving company before but i had called about every one in town and from the initial interaction i knew i wanted these guys. I needed an immediate move which they were able to do and the guys were extremely polite and a delight to have. Will only move with them from here on out!

Had to move a very heavy table down to Athens Ohio. The base was almost 300 pounds of marble. Jeff sent 2 men to pick it up at a difficult location and then deliver it to our home. They were very careful and helped us figure out how to put the table together, at times it took all 4 of us to attach the base to top. These guys were great. Would use them again!
